Web Forms - CSS control

It is my understanding that my style.css and modulestylesheets.css control a webform. Is that true?
In particular, this is my page:

I would like the submit button to be an actual button rather than text of a small font. I am having trouble figuring out where to go in what style sheet to control this. Any tips?

In this case it is the screen.css file that has removed the border styling of your submit button:
On line 7: * { border: medium none;padding: 0;}
Remove the border none to fix your input buttons. Or if removing borders from everything is crutal for your design, you can just add some css to input.cat_button and give it a border and background color. If you add the css I would add it to the modulestylesheet.css for that is where the styles for forms and other modules is kept.

Web form User Control

Hello all,
I have created a simple web page with 4 cascading dropdowns that pulls its data from a web service and it is functioning nicely.
I will probably need this functionality on a few different pages so I thought it might make sense to encapsulate this into a User Control. From the my research it seems like this might not be an easy undertaking, and a User Control cannot access a
web service.
Any suggestions/advice on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Some are taking the easy way out and pointing you toward ASP.NET only forum, but I believe you can effectively achieve a solution to your problem using only C#, as ASP.NET is just an API for web control control classes defined in C#.
You should create a base user control class inheriting the user control class, and then define a method in the base user control class to create your objects and populate them. Encapsulation 101.
Here is a somewhat abstract example of how you could achieve this.

You wouldn't have to put it into a separate method, you could get away with putting it in Page_Load of the BaseUserControl class, but I separated it out for demonstration purposes.

Hi,
After moving my files from SP 2010 to SP 2013 , for all my web parts i am getting A webpart or web form control on this page cannot be displayed or imported.The type could not be found or it is not registered as safe. error. I checked web.config files
and they are there as safe control and trust level is also full.
These webparts work in 2010.
Do i need to tweak something in code or distributed cache to make this thing work? The errors i see are

According to your description, my understanding is that the error occurred when you deployed the .wsp files to SharePoint 2013.
I recommend to check if all the assemblies are put into the BIN and GAC.

CSS does't work for new Web Form wpc_mini_article

Hello,
I created a new web form following [this guide|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/2041eb17-6001-2b10-b08d-b95ce55fa9b7], which works pretty good. The problem is that I personalized the sdn_general.css file but none of the definitions made in that css file works in the content using the new web form, called wpc_mini_article.
I guess there must be something else to configure, but where?

Hi,
You can modify the Content.css. Be sure to modify the right anchor, such as h2 for exemple....
Exemple : modifying the style of every H2 included in a <a> :
h2 a
Content.css is located on : Content Administration > KM Content, then the path is : root > etc > wpceditor > css > runtime > content.css
You have to save it on a local directory, edit it, delete it on KM and then upload the modifyied content.css you just made.

Date picker css not showing in web form

Hi there, I have a web form and added the date picker.
When you try this within BC admin it displays very nicely, yet when Ive inserted the webform in the html page,
the css styling for the date picker is not included.
Can anyone help me here so that I can add the css to style the calendar to look a bit prettier!

The date picker, once loaded, will get a bunch of inline styles applied to it from BC. This can override your CSS if you are not specific enough. If you give your declarations an important:
#datepicker{
    background-color: #333 !important;
Should override their inline styles.

Adding Controls dynamically in the Infopath/Web form with dynamic controls

The client requirement is to create SharePoint solution for the below image. A web form/Info-path form will be created where user can enter the details and data will be submitted. I am looking for a solution to implement the requirements in SharePoint .
if not possible then using customizations and SQL server.
User can enter the Title , Overview in the form , which we can make Single line and multiple line of Text. The problem is with third , fourth and fifth fields.
1) In third field , i.e. Qualification Summary , User can add/delete , dynamic text boxes..This can be achieved I think using repeating tables/sections in Infopath...How data will be saved in SharePoint columns as it is not fixed that how many
columns user can enter , how columns(static) will be created in the list ??
2) For fourth field , user will select one or many Project description title n descriptions which are there in the system..User will not write anything just select..But how many project descriptions they can select , again its not fixed..How
we can manage it in SharePoint List OR any custom solution ?
3) For fifth field , user will select one or many Awards which are there in the system.User will not write anything just select..But how many awards they can select , again its not fixed..How we can manage it in SharePoint List OR any custom

secondary data connection is only for one list so you can get data from only single list by creating list connection. Later you can drag & drop that connection as repeating table or bind with any control so display in form. If you have mulitiple list
then you may use lookup column or would need to create two seperate data connection.

multi selection listbox is helpful if requirement is select multiple records or filter records. You can almost achieve most of the requirement but still depends on business need. Ofcource some limitation is also there.

SharePoint 2007 custom (VS 2008) solution is upgraded to SharePoint 2013 using (VS 2012). I followed this approach.

Hi Ashok,
According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error after you re-built a SharePoint 2007 solution with VS2012, and deployed it.
Make sure the Namespace and Type Name are consistent across all files where indicated. Also with matching case sensitivity. Verify web.config file and assembly in GAC or virtual directory bin folder in post deployment.

We have an SharePoint services 3.0 installation that uses custom web parts on 100s of subsites. The custom web parts on any website is presenting this error

This past weekend we decided to create a new database server and migrate the databases to the new server in an effort to retire an old box.
INitially we attempted to go through the configuration wizard which didnt do anything but add a new database server to our farm. What we have done is remove the new database server from the farm and use an alias on the SP server to continue to use
the same name but actually get its data from the new database server.
Everything works with the site except these custom webparts.
Any thoughts on where to go to first, should i redeploy what i think are the webparts from VS 2005 (solutions are VS 2005 slns.)?

You need to make Safe Control enteries in your web.config for the particular web application.
Open web.config
Locate the SafeControls Tag
Make a safe control entry

In order to find the assembly details, Open the GAC. Right click on your dll and then click properties.

Page after filling in web form and Css on Web apps

Hi All.
I have two questions.
1. How do I customise the page that appears after a web form has been filled in. The page the sumarises the details filled and thanks the user for filling in the form?
2. We have created a web app to display info on a page, which it does, but it isn't pulling the CSS styling from the main template. To make it work we have been putting inline CSS in the web app code, but this isn't ideal. Is there a way to make it look for the main CSS?

1. You can find it under Site Manager > System Pages > Web Forms Confirmation Page
2. Does the detail page/web app item use a template? Did you make sure the referencing looks something like this: <link rel="stylesheet" href="/css/styles.css" />?

How do I create a dependant drop down in a web form?

I am trying to add a web form to a web page that includes a dependant drop down menu. For example, I'd like there to be a drop down menu called "Interested Class" with three fields: "Tribe Fit", "Tribe Life" and "Tribe Core". When a user selects one of these fields ("Tribe Fit" for example), I want a new drop down menu to appear with the following choices: "7:00am", "12:30pm", "7:00pm".
I have attempted this here and as you can see it's not working at the moment. The time drop down fields should be hidden until an "Interested Class" has been selected.

I've placed my JS code in the HTML view of the actual web page as I noticed when I place it in the actual custom form it doesn't carry through to the page. I don't know if I'm placing my JS in the correct place though.

This wont work, Needs to be a lot more then this and CSS to hide things rather then script hiding them.
Nicole, The times that are availible I gather differ depending on the type of the dropdown?
You do not need multiple time dropdowns.
Steps you need to do first on the form:
1. Ensure the custom form field dropdown for interested class exists.
2. Have custom dropdown with all the times that any of them can be. This is CSS hidden by default.
3. Also CSS hide all the options in the select as well in your CSS.
Next can you show what classes have what times as an example then can put the code more relevent to your example you can work off.
The code will follow along the lines of....
Dropdown On Change
          If selected options is xxx class then
          fade in option times dropdown
          Show these otpion times
        if selected option is zzz class then
          fade in option times dropdown
               show these times
More control as you need to work properly, only two dropdowns needed.

How do I use the vector web forms??

I'm new to using vector graphics and need to know how to go about using these web forms using Illistrator to make it functional on a web site. I tried opening it with the Illustrator, Fireworks, but not sure how to get the white fields to actually work like a text field. Hotpot will only link to another page which I don't want. I want the user to be able to enter their email address or whatever info is required then be able to submit. Please help!

That graphic is for making a wireframe/design. It cannot offer any real form functionality.
To create a form with that appearance, you will need to wrestle with HTML, CSS, and your choice of scripting languages to process the input.

Can't get php and web form to function properly

Hello,
I have a html web form and a php code that works fine in my older website.
i just updated my site and need to transfer the code for the html form into a newly designed page.
I copied and pasted the form into the new page. The form come up and works properly except that it doesn't send the form to my email address.
Everything appears to be the same as my old page but obviously i don't have them linked properly. i've attached the code to both html files. thanks for any help. Owen

How can I create a query with web service data control?

I need to create a query with web service data control, in WSDL, it's query operation, there is a parameter message with the possible query criteria and a return message contains the results. I googled, but cannot find anything on the query with web service. I cannot find a "Named Criteria" in web service data control like normal data control. In Shay's blog, I saw the topics on update with web service data control. How can I create a query with web service data control? Thanks.

Web Service Data Control ADF

Hi,
I am trying to create an application using Web service Data control in Jdeveloper 11g TP4. This web servcie returns complex data type: that is an object.
while creating data control using wizard : Web service Data control, I am able to get the data control having input patrameter and return object and on exapnding that in data control palette I am able to get all atrribute of that objects.
Data control Palette:

I have created a simple JSF form by draging and droping the components fron Data control palette. There are two problems that I am facing while running the application:
1. Getting NullPointerException for the input parameter stating that input parameter can not be null: Error while building SOAP request
oracle.adfinternal.model.adapter.webservice.provider.soap.SOAPProvider setParameters
Value for parameter 'USRID' cannot be null
2. Setting that parameter with a default value I am able to call the web servcie and web service is successfully get invoked too and returns the response but the problem is that on Jdeveloper JSF screen it is not showing the output. I have created a read only form by dragging and dropping the return parameter from Data control palette. Even though the reponse is not getting dispalyed.
Do i need to do anything more or I am missing any step. I have referrrd the link http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/1013/wsadf/adfcomplexwstypes.html : stating the complex return type handling in Jdeveloper 10.3. Do I need to create a Java Bean for the complex type even though data control is having all object attribute of complex data type.

Please make sure that the service's return strcture follows the same strutre as described in the WSDL file. In almost all of the cases like this, I found that service returns doesn't exactly match the structure definition. In that case the WSDC fails to parse the output the way it's told to and the EL used in the pages will fetch nothing, hence a black page shows up.

How do you set up the paypal standard gateway to work without a web form?

I must have missed a step. I have this site set up and the paypal standard gateway does not work with a web form, but works with shopping cart. Does that mean I need to disable the web form page and use something else to check out? How do you do this? The BC help page on this stops at this point in describing what to do.

For those who are running Windows and controlling the Airport Base Station with Airport for Windows. Apple just came out with a firmware update for Airport Extreme (7.7.2). It so happens that this Firmware version requires Airport Software version 6.3 or newer. The Windows version only goes as high as Version 5.6 or so. I was also told that Apple is unlikely to upgrade this software. To make a long story short you need to control (Configure) your Airport Base Station with an iMac, or an iPhone or iPad with the Airport app. This solved my problems. Good Luck :)
