Web Gallery: Two things needed

I desperately need (or want) two things:
1) a simple number scheme on top of the thumnails, 1,2,3 etc, so I can say to the client, "check out, 1,2,3, &... etc without having to open the image to it's larger preview.
2) A way to color label the thumbnails to make your selects stand out.
Did I miss this? thanks.

Look at The Turning Gate web galleries, they are amazing and you can use the coloured tags on the thumbnails, and suggest exactly that to your clients, you can also number the cells or leave the photo name (number) below the thumbnail for suggesting "look at photo 2,3,4 etc"
Certain web galleries allow clients / friends / users to tick and comment on the galleries - and submit a selection back to you
I use them all the time for my clients and they are utterly invaluable.

  • Web gallery problem

    Hi!
I'm trying to upload a web gallery from one of my albums on iphoto. I've done this once before and it worked perfectly fine. Now though, everytime I press the web gallery button something pops up asking me to sign in to my .mac account. I say yes I have one, and sign in and it says my password is valid (I've signed in on my system preferences) but the thing is,now what?
Every single time I press web gallery the thing pops up asking me if I'm a .mac member, and asking me to sign in, although I already have! It's so annoying!
    Help?

    Thea91:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Try deleting the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist. If that doesn't clean up your web gallery publishing you may have to delete the dotmac preference files that are in the User/Library/Preferences folder and the User/Library/Preference/Byhost folder. Move them to the desktop first. Then open System Preferences and re-enter you .Mac account information and password in the .Mac section. Then try iPhoto again.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Help- how do I make images ready for web gallery??

    Hi,
I am trying to create a photo gallery of images within Bridge using the Adobe Web Gallery feature. I have the images I want to use in a folder. What steps do I need to take to get the images saved in the correct format and file size? Also, what files sizes do you recommend for a web gallery? I need to make medium to large thumbnails & large images (when clicked). Here's what I am thinking I need in terms of getting this right:
use Adobe Photoshop/Bridge to create the gallery
    jpg for photos
    gif for solid colors
file size under 2MB (full image), under 20-30K for (thumbnails), total size of all images under 50K (no more than 50 sec. to download)
    screen size: 984x728
    screen resolution: 72dpi
If you could help me in any way, shape or form concerning making my images ready for a web gallery that would be most helpful. And if you can refer me to any resources on making a web gallery that'd be awesome. Thank you!

  • Web gallery code

Is it possible to get the code for my web gallery widget thing-a-magig that I have posted on my i website and use it on my blogspot blog?
    enrgyK

Below is the HTML code for your Web Gallery's main page:
    <iframe height="100%" allowTransparency="true" frameborder="0" scrolling="yes" style="width:100%;border:none" src="http://gallery.mac.com/YOURNAME"></iframe>
And here is the HTML code for a specific Album in your Web Gallery:
    <iframe height="100%" allowTransparency="true" frameborder="0" scrolling="yes" style="width:100%;border:none" src="http://gallery.mac.com/YOURNAME#ALBUMNUMBER&view=mosaic&bgcolor=black"></i frame>
Copy that code, substitute YOURNAME & ALBUMNUMBER by the real thing and, if you want, you can substitute the "view=mosaic" by another view and the "bgcolor=black" by another color, etc.
Then find where to paste that code in your blog. And there's info about IFRAMEs here:

  • Additional Web Gallery Options Needed

I know that LR is not meant to substitute for a real web design application. However, it is intended to provide the ability to build photo galleries of photographers work for actual real world use. And as such, I find one thing about it that makes it rather limiting and somewhat defeats the point. I don't think most photogs who will use LR routinely are going to want to make one massive web gallery covering their whole body of ongoing work. It seems to me that many would be like me and want to create a collection of galleries that cover specific types of work, specific events, locations etc. While I may be wrong about how many would like that I am asure there are enough to justify even a small tweak to the Web Gallery capabilities of LR.
One tweak that would thrill me is to have just a bit more control and ability to add links to the galleries I build in LR. Again, I don't need nor request the ability to build large involved websites. But it would be wonderful and very helpful to have the option of adding maybe one or two customizable links that would aid in tying a collection of web galleries together. Even if I couldn't build a main home page in LR whose only finction is to provide a base to launch a library of galleries, it would be great if I could tag a link onto my galleries that would like back to a page I build elsewhere, or even to link a collection of LR galleries together. Just a simple url tag that sends a viewer back to a home page, or to a different gallery.

  • Does "Bridge Web Gallery" need Java on hosting server to run?

I have uploaded a web gallery made with Bridge CS6, but all I see is a white screen. the gallery works fine locally. I just spoke with my host servers tech support and all he can think of is that they doen't run Java on their servers because it causes them way too much trouble. All I see is Javascript in the resource folder and they have no issue with that.
I'm on a Mac and as far as I know I'm running the lastest Java on my Mac as I updated it a few weeks ago. This is why I was wondering if I needed Java? Also I'm using Dreamweaver to upload the files to the server.

workflow functions are also exposed via java api's. so you can have your web application in say iAS, weblogic, ibm websphere,... and display pages using the java api.
the default workflow pages are generated using pl/sql api's. in this case you can get rid of pl/sql gateway.
i myself have worked on implementations which developed the application using the java api's
    satish paul
Thank you Fernando. I have been pointed out that there is a oracle plug-in for Microsoft IIS, enabling us to use it as the web server, Hence removing the need for Apache http server and the PL/SQL gateway.
    Many Thanks

  • Web Gallery with iPhone, two questions

I now have three albums in my web gallery. When I take a picture with iPhone and go to upload to web gallery, only one of the albums shows up. Why not the other two?
Second question: i successfully sent the photo to that one albumb web gallery, and sure enough, it shows up when I view it in my web browser. But it was only a test and I want to delete it. How do I do that? Because when I view that album in iPhoto, the picture I uploaded from my iPhone isn't there.

    Phil Rogers,
To upload to the Web Gallery your iPhone sends it via email. Make sure "Allow uploads via Email" is selected in the Web Gallery settings.
The little "radio waves" icon next to the Web Gallery in iPhoto 7.0.1 is clickable. Clicking on it will cause iPhoto to resync the Web Gallery between .Mac and the computer.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • CS6 Web Gallery template selection problem, need help...

Using Bridge CS6  to create a web gallery and the only template available is "Standard" which is Flash based. I can open the pull down menu and see 11 templates including the HTML which I want to use but it defaults back to "standard" each time. Seems like there is some link or source that is missing... any help?

Curt, the only way I see catalyst is when I'm in the advance setting for (I guess the viedo card) I see info for gaming, video, display, & more.  All that it will let me do is turn it off or on and I'm really not sure what I need to do to update that driver.  Normally, I just run a window check to be sure the drivers are up to date but I don't know where to look for the driver to even see about updating it.  If you are able to help, I would really appreciate it.  I think I spent about 2 hours yesterday trying to do everything I could think of to fix it.... and I really want to be able to start playing with creating 3d graphics. Also, I just looked up the driver you are talking about, based on the info you are seeing that I posted, do I need to download Catalyst Software Suite
    that includes:
                                 Display Driver ver. 13.152
                                 OpenCL(tm) Driver ver. 10.0.1268.1
                                   Catalyst Control Center ver. 2013.0830.1943.3358

  • Web gallery or slideshow, non-Flash, for mobile devices needed

    Hi,
My website -- www.johnblaustein.com -- is all Flash and I'm getting some mild complaints from viewers who would like to see my work on an iPad or iPhone.  I built my galleries with SlideShowPro and I know Todd at SSP is working on a mobile device solution.  In the meantime, however, I'm wondering if anyone here has some solutions they might share.  The iPhone screen is so small that I find thumbnails to be just about useless and navigation difficult.  I'm wondering if there is a Lr solution that will produce a web gallery or slideshow that will run full-screen on a mobile device with a simple next and previous button.  I'm even thinking I might just do a limited portfolio as a video file with no navigation at all.
    Any thoughts?
    Thank you.
    John

    John,
Unless I go for mobile support, I am doing just fine as-is with SSP/LR.  I understand the benefits of Director, but at this point I don't have the energy to learn yet another application... unless I really need to.  I trust you that learning Director won't be as complicated as I am imagining, but at the moment "it ain't broke, so I don't want to fix it."
I do all my site work myself with Lightroom, SSP and Dreamweaver, so I agree that I could probably get up and running with Director fairly easily.  The time will come no doubt.
Thanks again for all of your comments.
I was hoping that others might chime in here with other suggestions on making mobile device web galleries, but maybe there just aren't any good ones.

  • Flash web gallery NEED HELP

I have no clue how to program these flash galleries....My
site www.al-burke.com contains a flash web gallery that I purchased
online and I have been able to upload it to the site but its says
movie not loaded. I have all the neccessary files in place I
    believe (gallery.xlm, main.html, main.swf) all under a folder. Can
anyone please help me out? Thanks

Does it work when you test it from your local drive? If it
does, but doesn't work when you post the files to the server, you
may not have uploaded all of the parts correctly. If it doesn't
work when testing from the files on your harddrive either, then
there is a linking issue - have you moved any of the files after
the gallery was created...? (If so, the links will be broken).
You also reference a file named "main.html" - this isn't the
name of the file that's posted - if you created a file named that,
then changed the name to index.html without updating the links when
prompted, that will also break the links...
    Hope that helps...

  • Needed:  variable weblinks in flash web gallery title & caption fields

I know that one can put a fixed URL as custom text into a LR flash web gallery title or caption fields and simply click on that field in a gallery and go to that website. However, that URL is fixed and shows up for all images in the gallery. I would like the ability to have that URL vary by image. That is, I want to be able to setup custom text for a title or caption gallery field that inserts an image's certain metadata value(s) within a URL string. E.g., have LR web gallery custom text of the form:
result in the browser going to URL held in the current image's title metadata.
This almost works now (LR v1.4) ... Such a custom text title displays correctly. And if I left click on it and choose "copy link", the correct URL is in fact there. Unfortunately a right click doesn't take me there as it would if the custom text was a constant URL string, instead of having one or more embedded image metadata tokens.

whoops, I didn't know that my post's example custom text string would be interpreted as a hyperlink :>) Here's the example text without the enclosing "a brackets".
    href="{title}">click here for foobar

  • Changing Virtual Copy Names in Web Gallery

I have been creating web galleries in LR for clients for purposes of online editing. This hasn't been a problem until today when I was creating multiple copies of images using Virtual Copy. I realized when I create a web gallery the images with multiple versions all have the same name in the gallery. So there might be 3 versions of one image (a color, a BW, a sepia tone for example) with the same name.
I.e., if I have an image called "001.cr2" that is full frame and then I create a virtual copy that is cropped, in the web gallery they are both called "001.CR2" instead of "001_01.CR2", or some such thing.
I need some way for my client to differentiate btwn the two files during their online editing. Is there a way to do this without exporting the files and then re-importing to create the gallery?
    Thanks in advance.
    Ryan Donnell

When you create the virtual copies specify unique copy names for them in the metadata, e.g., "bw", "sepia", etc.
Then in the Web module in the Image Info panel, edit the title and/or caption fields to include the copy name as part of the filename or caption. Each image in the web gallery will then have a unique name tag to reference. If you don't want to use copy names (why not, they sure are useful for other things as well), Image # would also work.

  • Cannot delete .mac web gallery albums

Strange thing has recently happened to me. I deleted two albums both from the album pane and under the web gallery pane in Iphoto but the albums have not been deleted from my .mac web gallery. Is there any way to sync iphoto and the web gallery so that the albums are deleted? In the past this has always happened automatically for me.

Mount your iDisk, go to the Web/Sites folder and delete the contents of the _gallery folder. That should do it.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. • Guidance on approach to panorama web gallery

Looking for advice on my approach to making a web gallery to view panorama images. I'd like the gallery to have similar features to the Zoomify export from Photoshop, i.e. the ability to zoom in/out and drag the image around the window a la Google Maps.
I can handle the web-related things and Lua-related things but I'm wondering if the web gallery part of the SDK will let me intervene in the step where image files are generated. This is because I need to invoke an external tool to generate the tiles necessary for the zooming/dragging feature. Ideally I'd use LR to generate the tiles but I don't think that's possible (please correct me if I'm wrong).
If not, is there any reason (other than a lack of live preview ability) that I could not do this as an export plug-in?
    Thanks for any pointers.
    db

I definitely want a tiling approach to speed performance. And I almost always prefer a JavaScript approach over a Flash approach. That said, I'd be fine using the Zoomify export that comes with Photoshop CS3 but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it to resize its window to the width of the browser. It's a shame to try to look at a panorama on a 1680-wide screen and only have half the screen actually showing any image. Seems like an obvious requirement to me.
I figured that since the advent of Google Maps, there would be tons of JavaScript libraries around to do what I want to do. In the end, I only found two. One actually uses Google Maps to navigate the image but I bailed on it for a couple of reasons. The other seems workable but I haven't tested it on multiple browsers since I'm trying to get the panoramas themselves done first. That has taken way longer than expected because of what seems to be some issues with LR's ability to deal with large images. Although LR2 has enhancements to let it import much larger images than LR1, it's basically unusable for me. But I'm getting OT. If someone wants to pursue that, I can start another thread. Anyway, I'm starting over and using LR to send the initial images to Photoshop to stitch together and now I'm going to do all image work on the panoramas in Photoshop in order to get things done. Bummer.
I'll post progress here when I have the panoramas up on my site.

  • Problems Emailing to Web Gallery From Camera Phone

I have a Sony Ericcson camera phone that has a mail client which I have set up to use GMail for both incoming and outgoing mail. I can't seem to get Web Gallery to accept the picture emails I send from the phone. The only thing I can conclude is that the server accepting the emails has problems parsing the message. I can use my desktop computer to send the image to Web Gallery, so it's there's nothing wrong with the image itself. I've also tried configuring my phone to use an AT&T mail server to send the picture, but have the same problems, so it's not the mail servers. I've also sent a full sized image (2 megapixels) as well as a small version (640x480) to see if it's related to file size, but they fail as well. Interestingly enough, I can send videos that I take from my phone to Web Gallery and it gets posted, so I figure it's not the phone.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? I've included the failure notice email I get back from the Web Gallery mail servers below if it can help diagnose the problem. Thanks.

After many trial and errors, I figured out that the web gallery mail servers were choking because the filenames my phone gives photos have capital ".JPG" extensions. If I change them to lowercase, the pictures get posted. Unfortunately, I can't rename the files inside the phone and need to transfer them out to my mac via bluetooth before I can rename it. To solve the problem for myself, I created an email address on another hosted website that pipes mail to a script that rewrites the problematic portions before sending it to my web gallery. It's somewhat of a roundabout way of doing it, but it works for now.
Hopefully the web gallery mail servers will be corrected to handle this situation.
