Web overlay password screen

Hi,
I'm looking at adding a web content overlay as the first page in my single edition app.
The overlay will include a simple PHP or ASP.NET login screen hosted externally, the idea is to password protect the content of the app.
How I envisage it working would be:
1. Someone will download the app from iTune
2. When they open the app the first screen will be the web overlay screen with the password field
3. Only certain people will have the password, when entered it will take you to the content
Would this work? If so has anyone tried and submitted for distribution via iTunes.

This really isn't going to work well or reliably. There are too many ways in our UI to navigate to other pages, you have no guantee that somoene couldn't skip past that first page to get to other content in your folio.

For example - the way that websites have a back to top button when scrolling large amounts of copy etc

I can't find the article that really outlines it well, but yeah place the stuff that you want to stay on the screen at all times in another indesign doc, specifically the next article in the issue. have that stuff hang off the left side and it should (assuming adobe hasnt patched the bug) show up in the previous article, always stuck to the same spot on the page when you scroll. edit: found it!
Place the button on the next article (on the right side of the article where you want your button).
Move the button to the left, beside the page (imagine the article where it should be on the left of it).
Group it with a blank rectangle that's on the page.
Place your button on every page of the second article, otherwise you see it only when that article is on the firts page (place it on the masterpage). That article must be a fixed scrolling article.

Standard Error Messages in Custom Change Password Screen

Hi All,
I've developed a custom change password screen in Web Dynpro. I want to use the standard messages that appear in the portal logon screen. I looked in the portal logon par and got the umelogonbase.jar and found in my eclipse dir the com.sap.security.core.jar wich this last one depends. I put then in an externallib and wrapped them in a JEE lib. Declared dependency from my WD DC to the JEE lib and added the library reference in the WD DC.
I have the following code:

Ok so here is how I solved it.
I found this very interesting article called "SAP Authentication Guideline" and there the author mentions that the messages are defined in class SecuritPolicy of the core security jar. So with that in mind this is how my code finally worked out:

For eg. Using advance search option , I have some fields with default operators like equals, contains,is between, is less than and is greater than. I don't need all these operators for this field.
I need only "equals" operator. How do i remove the rest of the operators?

There is a view cluster crmvc_dq where all the standard setting is present related to you r issue. Please try if you can modify that, that way you will avoid the code.
Incase you are not able to make any changes there then in that case you have to redefine the method GET_DQUERY_DEFINITION () of the IMPL class to delete the operators for a particular serach field.

You can turn security off from your process.
Go under adminui under Services/Application and Services/Service Management.
Search for your process and under the security tab you can disable the security or use the 'Run As' feature to run under a specific user context.

Just made the pc to Mac jump. Can I connect my iPad to my Mac Mini via Bluetooth ...my current keyboard isn't connecting so I can't even get passed the password screen.

Someone please help me connect my two devices together so that I don't have to purchase yet another item. Is there an app or something that would allow me to connect my Mac Mini to my iPad 2 wirelessly. I can't get passed the password screen because the wireless Keyboard will no longer connect to my Mac ...helllllppp .... I use it for both my iPad and my Mac mini....does that matter?

After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with gift card issues. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice for the issue you are experiencing:
If you can't redeem your iTunes Gift Card or code
Contact iTunes Store Support
If the code is completely scratched off or you still can't redeem your gift card, contact iTunes Support:
Go to the iTunes Store support page and choose your country.
From the menu on the left, choose Contact Support.
Click Contact iTunes Store Support.
Follow the instructions.
iTunes Store Support might ask you to send these things:
Image of the full front and back of your gift card
Sales receipt showing when your card was purchased
Serial number from your gift card

The top row of the keyboard of my iPhone 4S, in the password screen, is not responding to my fingers. How do I fix this?

This problem occurred after a whole days use of the iPhone without any hitches. I first discovered the problem by unlocking the phone and then swiping to the password screen to find that the top row was not responding to my fingers at all. Because of this I could not type in my password to unlock my phone. I then tried to restore my phone but could not because it needed the phone to be unlocked. I then tried holding down the home and sleep button at the same time until it turned off and on again, but this did not fix the problem. I also tried switching on the Voice Over mode on and trying to unlock the phone through that but of course it didn't work. I have also left it overnight but I was still unable to unlock the phone the next day. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

*UPDATE*
I have been able to use the Zoom function to zoom in and the keys on the top row no longer are in the non-responsive strip of area.

Change Password Screen error in - External Facing Portal

HI,
We have developed an external facing portal for anonymous users and the EFP has protected content which will redirect the users to enter logon information to access it.
The process of authentication also working well in EFP but we are getting some strange error when the password was "reset' by administrator.
Here is the process...
1. Password 'reset" by administrator
2. user clicks on "protected content"
3. Logon screen displayed
4. After entering details, should be redirected to change their password but instead of that we are getting "Java iView Runtime error"
I need expert views on this to solve.
This is happening only when accessing EFP, user will be redirecting successfully to change password screen when accessing through "/irj/portal"
Any solution.

Here is the scenario ..
1. User's password was reset by administrator.
**That's fine.
2. User gets redirected to change their password when logging (first time after reset) ... when accessing via .. http://<server>:<port>/irj/portal
**That's ok too, this is just a redirection. At this point I would be doing https for external customers though.
3. Occured "Java Ivew run time error" when the user trying to login from External Facing Portal ... via .. http://<server>:<port>/irj/portal/anonymous?guest_user=partners
**At this point you will have to look at your .trc log files. (logviewer) If this is just an access denied issue then look at permissions in the roles or groups. If you are assigning a new password, is that effecting a group or system membership? The .trc files will give a heads up.

Time machine restore stuck on filevault password screen

I have a new macbook pro. I am trying to restore from a backup on timemachine through migration assistant. The problem is that the backup is too big to fit on this new computer's storage, so it attempts to do it and then fails. which is fine, because it asks me which folders I want restored. When I select the only folder I want restored It then becomes stuck at the filevault password screen. (see attached image).

Make sure you have the Current Version of iTunes Installed on your computer

You may need to try this More than Once... Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
Take your time... Pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4.
After you have Recovered your Device...
Re-Sync your Content or Restore from the most recent Backup...

Note. Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything... and you must continue with the Recovery...
