Web Repository: Result Resource Filter not filtering

I have an issue with the result of my Result Resource Filter. Maybe somebody can point me to my mistake ?
In site B i have several languages that i don't want to show, since they are the same, but the URL is different.
I am ending up with the same site appearing several times, where it should only appear twice (English and German)
I have a site A, which also posseses the /index.php.
The language parameter can appear twice when a language switch is done, but the last language parameter will be used.

The only languages should be 7 and 0
The result resource filter settings are :
- Include Documents/ web-Pages : true
- Item ID Mode : exclude
- Item ID Pattern: siteB.com/index.php&L=8,siteB.com/index.php&L=9,siteB.com/index.php&L=10, siteB.com/index.php&L=11
I tried before just using "/index...." , but that did not work either. And i want to be sure that correct URL is filtered....
With this setup i would excect, that only this pages appear:
http://www.siteB.com/index.php?id=10&L=7
http://www.siteB.com/index.php?id=10&L=0
but they appear all.....

I'm troubleshooting a subfolder filter issue with DFS. I followed the troubleshooting steps in the KB listed below and all went well. There are no errors in the event viewer.

Since I applied the filter AFTER replication had occurred, will the filter still work?
The filtered folder name has spaces in (for example: shipping & receiving). Would this cause the filter not to function correctly?

If applied a folder filter AFTER replication had occurred, the folder will stay on all servers. However, any new files/folders added to the folder do not replicate to any other server.
The filtered folder name can have spaces in, the filter function still work.

Resource Work not filtering

I have a BI report I am drafting which is attempting to show the split of resource work across time. I have a resource custom field which when I filter by I get the resource capacity filtered ok but the work value remains the same irrespective of which filter
I apply. How do I get the work value to be filtered to the amount of work the resource has been assigned to?

Web Controls 2.1: HTTP not filtered

I'm using the Web Controls 2.1 on a 5.0.3 Portal.
Portlets are running on a Remote Server with IIS5, which has the complete Web Controls Installation. The <httpModules> entry is correctly placed in the Web.config. In fact, I'm using the Rerender Demo Sample.
I can tell that something is happening, because the ptwc.log shows this entry on the first call to Controller.aspx after an IIS restart:

However, on postback the portlet still takes over the whole browser. Upon closer inspection of the Portal Page source and the HTTP response from the portlet to the portal (using a YATT trace) revealed that the aspx page is not transformed at all. Javascript functions and form names all appear in their original form.
Reinstalling the Webcontrols also didn't help. We really need this functionality. Does anyone have an idea, why this is not working?

I am still unable to get the 2.1 Webcontrols to work, can anyone provide some insight to overcoem the cast exception?.-There seem to be some additional configuration items in this release - Can anyone explain their purpose? -The installation also placed the image server files in the wrong location - I had to move them from the ptimages folder to the ptimages/RemoteGadgets

Trouble with indexing web repository

We've recently upgraded to TREX version 7.10.34.00, and I'm trying to get one of our web repositories to index.
I can get the web repository to index if I do not include any 'include' result resource filters in the crawler parameters, but it does not index if I do include one. I have had some success using an 'exclude' result resource filter, just not the 'include' one.
The name of the web site that I'm indexing is http://site1.domain.com. When I do not include any result filters, a sampling of the crawler log file looks like this:

With the result filter in place in the crawler parameters, I click the button to index. The crawler log files are generated, but nothing shows up in the TREX monitor queue for the index. The Time Stamp doesn't change either. I have tried changing the parameters in the 'Item ID Patterns' field, but it still doesn't work.
Is this a bug with this new version of TREX or am I not using this filter properly? This seemed to work when I was using TREX version 6.

I just created a web repository. I do not see any new links at "Content Administration > KM Content > Root".
How do I test the newly created web repository? In other words, how do I view the web content from within KM?

are you sure that the repository wasn't monitored? Did you check the pager if (as it is probably the case) there have been more results than the number which fits on one page?
And did you mark "Active" for the repository?

SAP Web Repository, how can acess it from outside

and it says this:
"You use a Web repository (manager) to provide read access to documents stored on remote Web servers."
This could be really useful to me, but how does this work? I'm able to add objects to it using the transaction SMW0 but how can I get a valid url so that the users in my network can acess these files.
the only FM I know is 'DP_PUBLISH_WWW_URL' but this generates a kind of links that my browser can't process (something like SAPR3://WebRepository/0123456789/ZMY_FILE?Version=00001")
How can I do to create valid links to these documents, so that I can open them im my web browser??

though they have the same name, they are different! The SAP library you mention is about Knowledge Management.
If you want to generate an external URL for the Web Repository (SMW0), first read Note 865853 - WebReporting/WebRFC obsolete as of NW2004s. I don't know your SAP release, but if you are on a 7.0, you need to "release for internet" WWW_GET_MIME_OBJECT function module via SMW0, and probably activate /sap/bc/webrfc service using SICF transaction. Then you'll be able to access your ZZZZZ web document using URL like this: http://youserver:port/sap/bc/webrfc/!?_function=WWW_GET_MIME_OBJECT&_object_id=ZZZZZ&client=220&language=EN
Note: DP is only for allowing the HTML browser (and other SAPGUI controls) to access objects transmitted from SAP to the SAPGUI using the Data Provider service.

Web Repository searching - Confusion

Hi Experts,
I have a query regarding Web Repositories . I am using EP 2004s.
I have done something like this :
1. Created a web repository as given in "How to Create a Web Repository ...." guide.
2. I have created it for the portal index page and given the start page as the page for webservices.
3. Web repository is working fine .
4. When I search this repository it displayes some indexed html pages , which are nothing but some part of the start page itself.
Now , my understanding of web repository is it indexes the links on a website and when you search for it , it will display the documents which are accessable using those links .
I know it sounds so confising , I am also confused .
Can anyone tell me how exactly a web repository should work ?

Hi Amit,
Web Repository is working as two ways.
The one way is you just configure one website to index as data source. Then you are able to find the documents/links from that website. You can configure websites as many as you want.
The second way accessing the documents from remote server. So in this case you have some folders/documents on remote server. You just create one index and add those folders as data sources (You should have configured web repository in a portal). Now you are able to find the docuents from remote server also.

Web Dynpro image not found: The requested resource does not exist

Hi everybody,
I'm experiencing a strange Poltergeist, so I would like to cry out the issue and hope any kind sould could help me
In my WebDynpro application, I show a JPG picture which is located in the own project, that means in "src/mimes/Components/metromadrid.net.formacion.Cursos". The image appears correctly in my Development environment, but when the activity is moved to the Consolidation System (I'm using JDI), the image doesn't appear. If I try to access it directly, via URL, the messagen shown is "404 Not found: The requested resource does not exist.." (the URL accessed is http://hostname:port/webdynpro/resources/metromadrid.es/formacionapp/Components/metromadrid.net.formacion.Cursos/foto_vacia.jpg)
The point is that in the same Consolidation environment I have already some applications with images, which are found and loaded without any problem.
I have checked if the image appears in the corresponding active repository and everything seems alright (I mean I can see the file there).
Any idea? It would be really appreciated, since my time to solve the problem expires in few days...

Hi Isidro,
your mime files were most probably not added to your NWDI activities when developing your Web Dynpro DC. This means when adding these mime files to the src/mimes/<comp package>.<Comp name> folder the Web Dynpro Tools have most probably not detected the new mime files. When testing your application on in your local development environment all images appear as they exist on your local file system. As missing mimes do not cause a CBS build failure you won't encounter a designtime error.
Please check whether the corresponding mimes are listed as 'local only' (house symbol) in your DTR perspective. In case they are listed as 'local only' you must explicitly add them to an activity.
I have also encountered this missing mime problem before but I have not started any investigation to really determine the reason for it.

Index and crawler not working on Web Repository

Hi Team,
I'm trying to setup a Web Repository and crawling it for indexing. I've followed the steps from a SAP "how-To" document, but I guess the problem might be the way I'm confuring the web site in EP. I've created a Virtual Directory on my laptop's IIS 5.0 web server and the URL of the web site has been set as http://laptop-ashishk/myWebSite.
Do I need to set the START PAGE as /index.html (as per the spec it says it's not mandatory)...
Let me know whether you need any information with regards to this problem.

It's the user-scalable that's the problem. Apple considers the default (per their web coding rules at http://developer.apple.com/iphone/designingcontent.html to be yes.

Error: Requested resource does not exist with SAP WebAS..deployed an ear

hi,
i deployed an application using SDM gui deployement manger. the application is built using struts,spring etc. I have also created a datasource with Oracel 9i succesfully and hav associated it with the application.
When i try to access the application using the struts based path i get an "ERROR 404:- Error: Requested resource does not exist". I also tried accessing the index.jsp page directly without struts paths but dont know why i get an error "File [appContext/admin/index.jsp] not found in application root of alias [/] of J2EE application [sap.com/com.sap.engine.docs.examples]."
The same ear is working perfectly fine with IBM WSAD but not in SAP Web AS ?? is there any configuration issues that i need to address ?? Kindly help me ASAP !!

Web upload error message: the resource does not exist

Hi - I am trying to build a few Flash-based web galleries from within LR using selections of images made as 'Quick collections'.
I have entered my FTP settings and saved as a selection - including testing that LR can get access to this by selecting the browse button next to the server path.
When I hit upload, I see the following progress detailed in the progress pane and then an error dialog:
- checking FTP connection settings
- exporting image bin
- building web photo gallery
'An error occured sending the file : the resource does not exist'
Any ideas?

Hi - I am trying to build a few Flash-based web galleries from within LR using selections of images made as 'Quick collections'.
I have entered my FTP settings and saved as a selection - including testing that LR can get access to this by selecting the browse button next to the server path.
When I hit upload, I see the following progress detailed in the progress pane and then an error dialog:
- checking FTP connection settings
- exporting image bin
- building web photo gallery
'An error occured sending the file : the resource does not exist'
Any ideas?

Newly created Web repository not showing up in explorer

I'm trying to create an index which would finally enable me to search the 'CNN' website (following the 'how to' document : 'HOW TO SET UP A WEB REPOSITORY AND CRAWLING IT FOR INDEXING'). I'm unable to assign the web repository which I created in an earlier step to the index because it doesn't show up in the repository/folder listing. I can't even see it under 'Content Administration -> KM Content -> Repositories'.
What exactly am I doing wrong?!

Hi Karsten,
- We're on EP6 SP2.
- Yes, I'm referring to the document you mentioned.
- Yes, the repository does show up with a green light under KM -> Component Monitor.
BTW, I was able to bring up the web repository now that I've specified under 'System Admin ® System Config ® Service Config ® Applications ® com.sap.portal.ivs.httpservice ® Services ® proxy ® HTTP-Bypass Proxy Servers' that everything under 'mycompany.com' must be bypassed. I'd originally specified the proxy set up in the TREX configuration, which runs on another (physical) server than the portal.
I don't really get the connection, but essentially took the cue from the earlier reply I got.
So, in short, I think the problem is solved at least for the moment.

HTML property extractor for web repository

Hi All,
I was just wondering has anyone worked on this ...
We are using EP 2004s and for one of our web server we have created a web repository and now we want to use 'html property extractor" to extract the values of META tag of the html documents.
This will help us in filtering the search result , so we have followed following steps :
1. Created a html property extractor for the meta tags (META all =<meta tag name>).
2. Assigned this extractor to the web repository.
3. Crawled the website .
After this we tried to search for the documents using meta tag values but not able to find any document.
We have even tried to filter the result by adding this custom property in 'custom properties' , but this also didn't work.
Is there anything we are missing or this has to work in some other way ?
Note : We have tried a html extractor with <title> tag and extracted it successfully .

Refresh of Data in Xcelsius from Web Intelligence Results

Hello,
I am new to the forum but not to Business Objects/Xcelsius. I attended the SAP Sapphire Event last May and spent time in the Business Objects lab. Two Product Managers demonstrated how I would be able to refresh the data in an Xcelsius dashboard using Live Office by retreiving results from a Webi document without refreshing the Webi query.
For example, my Webi document contains 100,000 result rows. I want to be able to select a dropdown in my dashboard and have Live Office retreive only a subset of the 100,000 rows. This being done without having the Webi query being refreshed from the database. The Webi query would be refreshed nightly.
The Product Managers advised that this functionality would be available in Service Pack 3 or before. As of now I cannot find out how to make this work. Any help or information would be appreciated. Thanks.

WebIntelligence Input Controls are a way to enhance and customize user experience with report filters, they are therefore based on report filters and the feature is more focused on user interface & experience rather than exposition outside web intelligence.
Anyway, AFAIK, report filters are not available from Live Office report parts, you can only filter content with prompts, which requires the document to be refresh from the database, which has a direct impact on performance and scalability for consumers.
However, if you are with WebIntelligence XI 3.1 SP2 you have the alternative to publish from WebI Rich Client, report elements (any table or chart) as web services (called BI Services).
This tool is based on Qaaws technology, and share some of its features (main being that is uses the same Xcelsius Data Manager connection), it exposes a large part of WebI interactions to external consumers (esp. Xcelsius) : report filters, drill, prompts.
Besides this tool provides a set of call input parameters to tune web service consumption for best performance and scalability, enabling to leverage WebI document management features like scehduling, publishing and refresh, so consumers can balance performance with real-time data.
More information is available from WebIntelligence Rich Client user documentation from section sharing webi content with other web applications.
I recommend you install the latest fix pack (SP2.5 and above), as some initial fixes were required to ensure full compatibility with Xcelsius.
