Web Service and Java Classes

Hello,
I have list of java classes. I have one java class which calls only the required functions from the list of java classes. When I try to create a VI on that java class I see all the functions needed but all of them are grayed.
Can anybody please help?
Best regards,
Dharmi

Has anyone else solved this problem? We too are experiencing the same problem.
We are trying to build a .JWS file from within an ANT build script. The build script compiles the site into a single EAR file that should contain a deployable and usable JWS component, however it obviously does not.
If anyone has a solution, please let us know. We're facing a code freeze on this project by this Friday and really need some help.

  • Parse errors while creating a Web service from Java class!

    Can anybody tell me please, is it possible to create a Web Service from java class where the input from user is required ?
    I have the following program, which is successfully compiled, but when I'm trying to make a web service in JDeveloper, the following error occurs:
    "Validation failed.
    The implementation class primePackage.isPrime ofport type MyWebService contains parse errors."
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.*;
    class isPrime
    public static void main (String args[])
    Scanner reader = new Scanner(System.in);
    int n;
    System.out.println ("Enter a number you want to know is it prime or not");
    n=reader.nextInt();
    if (isPrime(n))
    System.out.println ("True");
    else
    System.out.println ("False");
    static boolean isPrime (int n)
    int i=2;
    while (i<=n-1)
    if (n%i==0)
    return false;
    i++;
    return true;
    }

    Hi,
    Can anybody tell me please, is it possible to create
    a Web Service from java class where the input from
    user is required ?Yes, the parameters of your method will be mapped in WSDL.
    But i've some considerations about your code.
    I suggest you change the name of isPrime do Prime, its a good code convention to put the name of class starting with Upper case. and isn't good the name of class equals to name of method.
    I suggest you to change the "static boolean isPrime (int n)" to "public boolean isPrime(int n)" to publish a method as a WebService method it's must be public and not static. After this change try to generate your Web Service.
    Regards.

  • Web Service From Java class, serialization problem

    Hi,
    I want to create Web Service from Java class, I made java project, generated web service from it, create web service archive project and deployed it to WAS 6.40.
    My class have 2 methods,
    public int add(int a, int b);
    public MyResponse doSomthing(MyRequest req);
    I can succesfully call add method from Web Service Navigator, it works fine but when I call doSomthing methods I get the following error:
    <b>
    Deserializing fails. Nested message: XML Deserialization Error. Result class [com.mycomp.sap_tech.ws.MyRequest] does not have property [Amount] of type [java.lang.String]. It is required to load XML..
    </b>
    Any ideas how to resolve it?
    P.S. MyRequest class is exposed throw VI, has default constractor and public getters and setters for all properties. It implements Serializable as well. Any guesses?
    Thanks in advance,
    Victor.

    Hi Bhavik, thanks for response.
    as I already mentioned it implements Serializable, so it is not the problem.
    Thanks Avi but it didn't helps iether

  • Need advice about web services and Java beans

    Hi
    I am very new to web services and to Java beans as well.
    I am trying to understand if and how a web service can use functionality I have in a Java bean. I couldn't find any documentation I can use.
    For example:
    InitialContext ic = new InitialContext();
    Adder adder = (Adder) ic.lookup("ejb/AdderJNDI");In a EJB client project (I'm working with Eclipse) if I add the EJB project to the build path, the Adder interface is recognized.
    Theoritacally I thought I can do the same in a web service server project, but the Adder interface is not recognized.
    Is there something I can read to understand how I need to use the EJB or implement the web service?
    Many thanks
    Sigal

    Okay....I think I made some errors with the original scenario:
    It basically comes down to this....I think. OCS Calendar has a set of Java classes and methods that provide an abstraction for their web services interface. I know how to create something to use these classes using an IDE like JDeveloper, but I'm not sure how that would work with HTML DB.
    I've noticed that the SQL Workshop has a place for Java sources and classes, and I've heard mentions of PL/SQL wrapping. Is there a way to import classes into an HTML DB workspace, wrap 'em up, and access them via PL/SQL?
    Thanks again,
    Jonathan

  • Creating Web Service from Java Class-How to eliminate nillable="true"

    Does anyone know how to eliminate the attribute, nillable="true", from the element tags which describe the parameters in the WSDL created when creating a web service from a Java Class? It does this only for the string types. Is there something I need to set when creating the web service or before creating the web service? Or the only way is to modify this WSDL then recreate the web service from the WSDL.
    example part of wsdl:
    this is in the <types> tag:
    <complexType name="getData">
    <sequence>
    <element name="schema" type="string" nillable="true"/>
    <element name="table_or_view_name" type="string" nillable="true"/>
    </sequence>
    </complexType>
    <complexType name="getDataResponse">
    <sequence>
    <element name="result" type="string" nillable="true"/>
    </sequence>
    </complexType>

    I did do this and I got the following error when deploying to the Stand-alone OC4j:
    Operation failed with error:
    Error compiling
    :D:\h\cots\Oracle\JDeveloper10g10.1.3\j2ee\home\applications\DBOperationsWSApp-DBData-WS\WebServices: Error instantiating compiler: webservice artifact generation failed :oracle.j2ee.ws.common.tools.api.ValidationException : Exception declaration mismatch between Implementation: dbdatapackage.DBDataOperations and Interface: dbdatapackage.DBDataWS. Impl class Method: getData declares exceptions not declared by the interface (java.lang.Exception)
    I am quite sure what it is saying. It generated the code for the Interface: dbdatapackage.DVDataWS. Impl class. Why would it not do it right? What expection is it complaining about? java.lang.Exception?

    You should try to post it there:
    http://forums.oracle.com/forums/forum.jspa?forumID=97
    But if I look at the error, it looks like some files are Read-Only. Maybe you should check if they are or if you have the appropriate rights on the folder.

  • Web Services - Simple Java Classes

    Hi folks,
    I'm new to using Netweaver and web services in general. I have some existing simple java classes already that I want to convert to a web service. I've decided to try and do a simple test first to make sure I understood how to do this correctly so I followed the steps outlined in this link: (I find I understand this better than the other help files)
    <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/60046fb9-ac5b-2910-08a6-b7b04b463c62">https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/60046fb9-ac5b-2910-08a6-b7b04b463c62</a>
    In the end what I got was a class file that has been turned into webservices (the code has @WebService, etc). When I try to do a deployment, everything goes well but I'm not quite sure which link I should use to check out my WSDL or anything. I tried the link like in the article above (but used http://localhost:50000 instead) and wound up getting a 404 error. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
    Also, as a quick follow up...since the link shows steps on building EJB's for web services, is it correct to assume that I can use the same steps when building simple java classes? (Create project --> Java Project, create my methods/classes, create new webserive and put slider to Test to check if everything works).
    Any help with this will be greatly appreciated I've been trying to figure this out for days already.

    Hi Bianca,
    Welcome on SDN!
    Have you tried to follow the steps exactly as described in the above document? That is, move the slider to "Develop service", then deploy your application, and request http://localhost:50000/HelloWorldBeanService/HelloWorldBean?wsdl - this worked fine for me.
    > I find I understand this better than the other help files
    Well, which help files you use depends on which version of the NetWeaver AS Java you're using. The link above is applicable to the Java EE 5 preview version; the help files you're probably referencing are the official documentation of the NetWeaver 04 and 04s releases.
    Hope it helps!

  • Web Service and Java

    Hi everybody!
    A simple question from a beginner
    I would like to use the query_view_data Web Service provided by SAP.
    Do I basically need a J2EE installation for that?
    I tried to test it in WSADMIN and the wsnavigator-service obviously needs Java.
    Best regards,
    Philipp

    I have found that the older Axis 1.x has some issues talking to anything .NET. My first suggestion would be to go to the latest, which I believe is Axis 2.0. I have some clients that consume my webservices with .NET, and I remember I had to change the messaging type to get it to work...big pain in the rear.

    Hi everybody
    I'm trying to query a web service like that on http://www.webservicex.net/stockquote.asmx
    and I'm using axis-1_4 API but without success!
    I wrote a class with this code:
         Call call = (Call)service.createCall();
         call.setTargetEndpointAddress(new URL("http://www.webservicex.net/stockquote.asmx"));
         call.setUseSOAPAction(true);
         call.setSOAPActionURI("http://www.webserviceX.NET");
         call.setOperationName( "GetQuote");
         String ret = (String)call.invoke(new Object[]{ "FORD" });
         System.out.println("output returned: " + ret);
    The response is:
    RemoteException System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server did not recognize the value of HTTP Header SOAPAction: http://www.webserviceX.NET.

    Have I forget to set some other property to the object Call or other reason?
    If anybody have had the some problem can help me?
    Thanks in advance

  • Web service calling java Caps

    Hi,
    I have developed a web service application in java caps 5.1.3 and can able to call that from the client successfully.
    But I dont want to create web service in java caps 5.1.3, the web service should run in weblogic server and the business logic it used should run in java caps.
    How should be the communication between web service and java caps
    please suggest

    Could you please paste your WSDL?

  • Add java classes as Additional Classes to web service and JAXB 2.0 usage

    Hi,
    I start using JDeveloper 11g TP3 to create web service. I encounter two problems.
    1. I created a schema file as the following,
    <schema xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" targetNamespace="http://FromWSDL/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns:tns="http://FromWSDL/">
    <xsd:complexType name="sayHello">
    <xsd:sequence>
    <xsd:element name="arg0" type="xsd:string" default="Tommy"/>
    <xsd:element name="arg1" type="tns:arg1Enum"/>
    </xsd:sequence>
    </xsd:complexType>
    <xsd:simpleType name="arg1Enum">
         <xsd:restriction base="xsd:string">
         <xsd:enumeration value="preserve"/>
         <xsd:enumeration value="replace"/>
         <xsd:enumeration value="collapse"/>
         </xsd:restriction>
    </xsd:simpleType>
    <xsd:element name="sayHello" type="tns:sayHello"/>
    <xsd:complexType name="sayHelloResponse">
    <xsd:sequence>
    <xsd:element name="return" type="xsd:string"/>
    </xsd:sequence>
    </xsd:complexType>
    <xsd:element name="sayHelloResponse" type="tns:sayHelloResponse"/>
    </schema>
    then I used TopLink/JPA-->JAXB 2.0 Content Model from Schema, I got four java files: Arg1Enum.java, ObjectFactory.java, SayHello.java, and SayHelloResponse.java.
    After, I create a java class with @WebService and @WebMethod annotation. Right Click on the web service class,
    select Web Service Properties-->Additional Classes, I added the four java classes. but there are error message for SayHello and Arg1Enum
    "the type SayHello cannot be serialized into XML and no custom serilizer has been defined for it"
    2. In JDeveloper, I create Java model from the above schema, then reverse the steps, create a new schema from Java Model, the original schema and the schema from Java Model are not same, especially for "defaultValue" and "required" fields for the custom element(SayHello and Arg1Enum).
    Any help will be appreciated

    First what you mean by "deploying classes as web services"? Chances are you
    can do it with something like Glue from The Mind Electric ... but chances
    are that you don't want to. What are you trying to accomplish?
