I used the Trader Example, which includes an EJB + a Java Bean.

Consuming web service from Lotus Domino with ABAP

Hello,
I'm trying to consume a web service from our Domino Server.
I was able to create a Client Proxy by entering the URL to the WSDL (http://lntraining/taxs/taxscontroltrg.nsf/GBU_Transfer?WSDL).
When I try to consume the web service I get the message "No such operation 'GETGBUDATARequest'" with SoapFaultCode:1.
I assume that SAP has a problem with the URL of the web service (http://lntraining:80/taxs/taxscontroltrg.nsf/GBU_Transfer?OpenWebService). I think the reason is the query prefix of the URL (?OpenWebService). I tried to add it into the RFC Destination but SAP doesn't allow me to do so.
Any suggestions or experiences?

Try maintaining HTTP proxy setting using transaction SM59->RFC->HTTP Proxy Configuration. I suspect your WAS server also need to use proxy server for accessing internet.

I have the following problem :
I have to develop a proof of concept between IBM Web Sphere 5.1 and SAP AS JAVA 7.0.
I have created an IBM sevlet in Web Sphere, I use a specific redirect from an SAP AS Java to call it, this way I can have a SAP Logon Ticket, and I manage to call an ABAP module function with JCO with SSO.
Scenario 1 : browser + authentication --> AS Java redirect servlet MYSAPSSO2 cookie -> IBM WebSphere servlet JCO -> Abap module function (ECC5)
This scenario works fine.
I have to do the same scenario with a Web Service and I don't know what to do.
I try to use jax-rpc handlers but I don't know how to pass my cookie from my servlet to my handler.
Scenario 2 : browser + authentication --> AS Java redirect servlet MYSAPSSO2 cookie -> IBM WebSphere servlet JCO -> Abap Web Service (ECC5)
Has someone already done that ?

Why are you using 5.1....go for 6.0 and its cake walk, i have integrated WebSphere 6.0 with R/3 uysing xi.....in a week.
Scenario changed to:--
Browser+ authentication --> WebSphere AS servlet request --> XI --> RFC/bapi --> abap webService

Creating a web service from existing EJB. HELP!!!

I have an existing EJB deployed to WL which I want to call as a web service. I do not want to deploy everything in an EAR - I want to use the existing EJB.
Basically I just created a new web module and put my web-services.xml (and web.xml) in WEB-INF and deployed it.
The web-services.xml looks like this:

I'm sure that my EJB is a stateless session bean. Looking at the deployed EJB in the console confirms it.
I cannot figure out what WL is upset about.
Does anyone have any advice or know of any resoures on using an existing EJB via a webservice in WL? I did not find any sort of guide, I just pieced this approach together. It seems like it should work, but I'm stuck on this problem.

The stack trace is longer than that, but I didn't find any hints to solve the problem.
The exception is thrown for every method of the web service:

I'm using stub to call the web service, as generated by wsdl tool.

Create XI web service from a WSDL with several operations

Hi,
We would like to implement a web service --> XI --> RFC Scenario.
A external vendor has provided us the WSDL that we have to implement in XI, so they can make the web sevice call.
The problem is that the WDSL that they provided to us implements 4 operations, and they are asking us to implement all 4 operations in the same web service.
Is it possible to do such a thing in XI?

The receiver side will support alll 4 operations. Actually we will use only one operation, but the external vendor has as a requirement to implement all operations in the same web service.
However, the other 3 operations that we won't use will be threated by the RFC receiver.
Any help of how to implement this scenario? Actually my doubts are in building the web service that implements all operations.

What not just invoke it the same you would invoke a remote service? Create a service stub and call a service method.

Calling Web Service from EJB using HTTP Client

Scenario:
I need to Call a Web Service from an EJB Application.I used HttpClient for calling the Web Service in the EJB Application. When i call the execute method of the HttpCLient it throws an exception
The element type "META" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "</META>"
The input XML does not have a node called META.
When i call the Web Service using Http Client form an Java Application it is working fine.
Kindly Suggest me the changes/steps that needs to be done

SOAP adapter does pass the message to XI (this message contains SOAP envelope although XI expects to get message without it), and during the mapping step i get "Runtime Exception in Message-Mapping transformatio~".
I suppose it's because i created proxy manually. I did so because when i imported WSDL, and tried to generate proxy in CRM, i got an error message that said that proxy couldn't be generated because external definitions are only allowed in XI 3. But my XI version is 3.0! And when I generate the same proxy in my R/3 system that is installed on WAS 640, it works.
What can I do?

Calling an external web service from a session bean

We're integrating our Weblogic EJB application with a third party JBoss-based product that exposes a web service API. I thought that Weblogic should have all of the libraries available that I would need in order to make this connection. However, when I bundle the web service client jar and attempt to call the web service from within Weblogic, I get:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sun/xml/rpc/client/BasicService
If I bundle jaxrpc-api, jaxrpc-impl, and jaxrpc-spi in the EAR, I instead get:
java.lang.IncompatibleClassChangeError at com.sun.xml.rpc.streaming.XmlTreeWriter.addNewNode(XmlTreeWriter.java:102)
...which isn't any better, and makes me think there's a competing jaxrpc somewhere.
What am I doing wrong?

Can you indicate the classpath that you use to run your client, version of weblogic and the version of jaxrpc api that you are using.
As a quick experiment adding the jaxrpc jar files to your classpath one at a time.

I'm using the latest jdeveloper and jdk 6 update 20 on solaris sparc 10.
When I'm trying to create a web service from a wsdl on the java EE 1.5 platform i get the following error:

The problem is that you won't find mych help here as I figured out that Apex geeks here either did not do much webservices or ended up hating it as i do :) . This is an error that can be due many different reason, let me ask you this:
1- Does your the other system you are trying to call through webservices using HTTPS ?
2- If yes, did you create a valid oracle wallet for that https connection ?
3- Make sure you are using the correct URL ( am sure you do, just double check )
4- If using a proxy, then you have to define that in the web service reference creation page

Calling web service from MBean weblogic cannot find type mapping file

When calling web service from custom MBean i get java.io.IOException.

The types.xml file is placed in same jar file as the classes such as net.msl.sfx.ebooking.client.BookingPartiesServiceService_Impl.
When calling the same class/method from a EJB, everything works fine and the web service is called.

Generating web service from session bean

Hi
I have a session bean in one project which has a service-endpoint defined.
My web services are in another project entirely, within the same workspace if that helps any.
When I generate the web service from the EJB JDev turns the business tier project into a web project,
I don't see any options to include the web service in the web project.
I've reversed all of the changes, but wonder if I shouldn't redo it and copy the mapping file and configuration
across to the web project and reverse the changes in the business tier.
This is a workaround that I'm hoping to avoid, as I'm doing the "howto" for this in our project.
How is this normally done?

I tried generating the web servioce from WSDL, in the web project.
I tested and the web service works fine.
Then I changed the config file to point to the ejb, but the server won't start up....

How to access (any) soap / rest web services from widget

Hi all,
Is there an API, javascript library etc, which allows accessing (any) soap / rest webservices from widgets?
I know I can access web services from sap j2ee with widget foundation, but I'm still not sure how to access "outside"
web services.
A blog entry about this topic would be greatly appreciated I think, not only by me.

SocketTimeout Exception while calling a Web Service from EJB

Hi All,
I am consuming a Web Service defined from the WSDL received from a PI system
in a Stateless EJB.
The input of the Service can be a range of records 100 - 10,000, with a furture plan to exceed the range as 100 - 15,000.
The Web Service Call goes perfect with 100 - 3500 number of records.
As the number of records exceed 3500, we started getting the following exception:
Service call exception; nested exception is: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out
Along with a call happenning to the PI system after some seconds.
Referring to various help.sap.com pages, I came across the following code snippet:
client._setProperty("socketTimeOut","200000");
This thing works great!!!, and now we have set the the socketTimeout proggramatically to a satisfactory level which supports the current requirement.
I would like to know, if we can tune some Visual Administrator Parameter for this, instead of maintaining the "Socket TimeOut" in the code.
Any help will be appreciated.

Please refer to SAP Note 962114. This is specifically for Web Service clients.
Description-->
This note can be applied for 6.40 SP 12+. If the customer has a lower SP, an upgrade of the whole engine is recommended. The other alternative to set the timeout is to set it programmatically.
If running a 7.0 installation, the functionality has been integrated in SP8 onwards
When you go to the Visual Administrator -> Server -> Services -> Web Services Container on the Settings tab page you should be able to see the socket timeout input field next to the HTTP Proxy settings. You can change the default value there and it will be automatically applied to all WS client proxies and logical ports deployed on the system.
