Web service from intranet WSDL

I have a simple (local) SOAP service (via perl SOAP::Lite) with a valid WSDL (validated with XML Spy). That works fine from a simple client....(provide a server and the service responds with all NFS mounts associated with the server)... the WSDL 'imports" a xsd schema via xsd:import. I can create the web service reference, but when attempting to generate a "Form and Report on Web Service" page I get a "No result Tree to Report on" "This Web service does not have a result tree in its definition that is appropriate for a report. You may wish to run the Form on Web Service wizard instead.".... why can't it read my tree? where can I find the errors (logs) specific to this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem as posted above.
The Web service has an single numeric input parameter and an output parameter that is an array of objects containing 3 result fields. The web service returns the results correctly in a test harness outside of HTML_DB.
I have listed the WSDL content below. Can you tell what the problem reading the Report Tree from the WSDL might be ?
Thanks

    Guys,
    You are asking about an issue that was a pain in the nick for me few months ago. The problem is that you won't find mych help here as I figured out that Apex geeks here either did not do much webservices or ended up hating it as i do :) . This is an error that can be due many different reason, let me ask you this:
    1- Does your the other system you are trying to call through webservices using HTTPS ?
    2- If yes, did you create a valid oracle wallet for that https connection ?
    3- Make sure you are using the correct URL ( am sure you do, just double check )
    4- If using a proxy, then you have to define that in the web service reference creation page
    provide more info and I hope I can help you with this,
    Sam

  • Creating web service from existing WSDL - why wsimport?

    Hi folks,
    I'm using Netbeans 6.0 to "Create a web service from an existing WSDL..".
    The problem is: it creates a new service with a NEW WSDL. I don't want it to do this, since I'm relying on a client to send a message conformant to the old WSDL. I'd noticed that in the jaxws-build.xml file, it's using wsimport instead of wsgen.
    Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can tell Netbeans to create the service using the original WSDL (not generate a new one)? Do I have to use wsgen instead?

    If you are under support contract, could you file a support issue at
    http://support.bea.com/ and then post the case #? Thanks.

  • How to access and display a Web Service from a WSDL in JSP or JSTL ?

    Dear All,
    We need to access a Web Service which is hosted as WSDL How to access a WSDL file from JSP or JSTL, parse and display the SOAP response in JSP page.
    Any simple example or URL as reference to an example will be useful for me.
    It seems io tags of jakarta is able to send soap message, but how to display it in JSP.
    Yours,
    Sankar.B

    Dear Sir,
    Yes. I would like to know more about the Forte and how to consume WSDL file from JSTL. The following are my querirs.
    1. How to connect the declared JNDI from a JSP page. i.e: the Datasource - ex: booksDS
    2. We connect the Tomcat server using JNDI as jdbc/scott. But, if I give jdbc/scott in JSTL as datasource={jdbc/scott}, we could not able to connect. We use the following code in a JSP page to connect the DB from a JSP page. (Its quite easy to modify, so we use the connection in a JSP page.)
    3. How to Consume a WSDL url from JSTL. Ex: If there is a URL : http://localhost/ws/MathService.asmx?wsdl OR http://www.xmethods.com/test/BabelFish
    4. How to display the result. We tried via SOAP from io taglib of Jakarta, but gives us an SOAP (it also looks like xml) response. But, how to use the value from that soap response in IE client thru JSTL/JSP.
    5. Whether this JSTL tool will be available with Forte Enterprise/Community Edition. If so EE, whats the price.
    Please Reply Immediatly. We tried, trying, going to try to display a wsdl response, but not able to display in IE thru JSP/JSTL. But, weve tested the www.gotdotnet.com examples of asp.net web services, we are thru. Its quite easy it seems in .NET. But, we feel whether even there is not even one example in JSTL/ Java Web Services Dev. Pack to utilise a web service in full cycle. The example which uve given is thru servlets. We dont use servlets. Cos, its very easy to edit JSP pages, instead of compiling the serv. and using it.
    I hope ull reply for all the above queries, since ur from SUN.
    Expecting your fav. reply.

  • Create XI web service from a WSDL with several operations

    Hi,
    We would like to implement a web service --> XI --> RFC Scenario.
    A external vendor has provided us the WSDL that we have to implement in XI, so they can make the web sevice call.
    The problem is that the WDSL that they provided to us implements 4 operations, and they are asking us to implement all 4 operations in the same web service.
    Is it possible to do such a thing in XI?
    Thanks in advance to all.
    Jorge Fernandez

    Hi Chilla,
    The receiver side will support alll 4 operations. Actually we will use only one operation, but the external vendor has as a requirement to implement all operations in the same web service.
    However, the other 3 operations that we won't use will be threated by the RFC receiver.
    Any help of how to implement this scenario? Actually my doubts are in building the web service that implements all operations.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Web Services from WSDL file

    Hi there. I am new for Java Web Services.
    I'm trying to generate a web service from a .wsdl file. This file includes a references to other .xsd files
    and that's the problem.
    First I've tried with JBuilder 9 but it gave me some problems with some element definitions from xsd file (such as those elements defined as 'choice'): there were generated some classes with repeated elements (such as variables and methods), some classes with strange names (it was added a 'TypeN' label to the name of the class), etc.
    Then I've tried with Sun One Studio 5. It didn't support 'include' tags in the wsdl file.
    Later I've tried with Weblogic Workshop but an error with an internal class of Weblogic was generated.
    Can anyone tell me what editor could I use to generate the Java Web Services?
    Thanks!

    https://jax-rpc.dev.java.net/whitepaper/1.1/index-part2.html explains in detail how to develop, deploy and invoke a web service starting from a WSDL.
    Let me know if you have any specific questions.
    Thanks,

  • Creating Web Service from Java Class-How to eliminate nillable="true"

    Does anyone know how to eliminate the attribute, nillable="true", from the element tags which describe the parameters in the WSDL created when creating a web service from a Java Class? It does this only for the string types. Is there something I need to set when creating the web service or before creating the web service? Or the only way is to modify this WSDL then recreate the web service from the WSDL.
    example part of wsdl:
    this is in the <types> tag:
    <complexType name="getData">
    <sequence>
    <element name="schema" type="string" nillable="true"/>
    <element name="table_or_view_name" type="string" nillable="true"/>
    </sequence>
    </complexType>
    <complexType name="getDataResponse">
    <sequence>
    <element name="result" type="string" nillable="true"/>
    </sequence>
    </complexType>

    I did do this and I got the following error when deploying to the Stand-alone OC4j:
    Operation failed with error:
    Error compiling
    :D:\h\cots\Oracle\JDeveloper10g10.1.3\j2ee\home\applications\DBOperationsWSApp-DBData-WS\WebServices: Error instantiating compiler: webservice artifact generation failed :oracle.j2ee.ws.common.tools.api.ValidationException : Exception declaration mismatch between Implementation: dbdatapackage.DBDataOperations and Interface: dbdatapackage.DBDataWS. Impl class Method: getData declares exceptions not declared by the interface (java.lang.Exception)
    I am quite sure what it is saying. It generated the code for the Interface: dbdatapackage.DVDataWS. Impl class. Why would it not do it right? What expection is it complaining about? java.lang.Exception?

  • How to generate doc/lit/wrapped services from existing wsdl?

    Hello,
    I am using workshop 10.1 to generate webservices from existing wsdl files from workshop 8.1. The existings webservices are based on an xmlbean utility project.
    When I generate the webservice from the existing wsdl file it generates automatically services with doc/lit/bare operations. I found in the known issues that this combination is not supported in combination with xmlbeans.
    See: CR283457
    XBeans are not supported as parameters or return type for doc/lit/bare operations.
    Use of Xbeans as a parameter or return type with doc/lit/bare bindings is not supported in operations or callbacks and will result in a failure during deployment.
    Platform: All
    Workaround: Use doc/lit/wrapped for services that use XBeans as parameters or return types.
    The workaround state to use doc/lit/wrapped for services. My questions is how to do that since workshop has all control over the generation of the webservices? ?:|
    Thanks in advance,
    Martijn Baels
    Software Architect
    www.leanapps.com

    Hi Martijn
    If you do generate web service from the wsdl on a 9.2 project, it always uses jax-rpc types and there's no xmlbeans involved.
    If the wsdl is in the schemas folder and the xmlbeans builder is on, then you also have xmlbeans types created by the builder they aren't being used by the web service. You will still have problems, because some of the xmlbeans types may conflict with the jax-rpc types.
    so when we generate webservice from a wsdl it will never use xmlbeans type, even if the xml builder is on, because WLS doesn't support start from wsdl with xmlbeans types.
    Can you please attach the wsdl and the steps so I can replicate and see the issue?
    Thanks

    Hi Vishal,
    no, I don't see any HTTPS security settings defined. The thing is that this worked just fine in 11.1.1.5.0 version. I installed 11.1.2.0.0 and the first thing I tried was testing this web service. Right away I get this error. I also tried creating Web Service Client Proxy for this web service and I get the same exception. I looks to me that this happens when wizard tries parsing WSDL...
    But, I got another error when I opened "Java Web Service Editor" for this web service and selected "Methods":

  • When to use Java Web Service from WSDL, Webservice proxy, Web Service DataControl -- JDeveloper 11.1.1.7

    Hi Experts!
    I am having confusion among these 3 services provided in Oracle ADF. When to use and what service needs to be used?
    Once we generate Webservice WSDL. With the WSDL we have 3  options in Jdeveloper to invoke this service.
    1. Java Web Service From WSDL.
    2. Web Service proxy,
    3. Web Service Data Control.
    Can anyone give us some brief description of these 3 services when do we need to use and which service is to be used for which scenario ?
    Please give me your valuable inputs.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Guravaiah Tata.

    Hi,
    Can you share your WSDL.
    You can send it to me at [email protected]

  • Trouble Creating Web Service from WSDL in 9.2

    I am following the guide at: http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs92/webserv/setenv.html#wp214576 for creating a web service from wsdl using Ant. When i run the "wsdlc" task, it creates a Jar with source files but no class files. This seems odd.
    So, i have to then manually unjar, compile, and re-jar it to work? And what about using the types in an IDE like Eclipse? I have to un-jar the source files and include them in my project? This makes no sense. Why not have the ant task compile the classes in the jar?

  • "java Web Service from WSDL" just hands me a SOAPElement, no java mappings

    Another beginner question. I've used jdev and built a WSDL starting from a somewhat complex xsd. I've used the wizard "Java Web Service From WSDL" taking defaults. It seems to correctly generate class files for all my xsd types. It produces a fancy looking java-wsdl-mapping.xml But the generated stub service implementation just gets handed a SOAPElement object. Why generate all that mapping stuff and then make me parse the incoming data myself with SOAPElement methods? How am I supposed to make use of the mapping work that the wizard seems to have done for me?
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Dear Tugdual,
    Thanks for your intrest in my issue. I narrowed it down to the following type in my xsd
    <complexType name="PersonInfoType">
    <sequence >
    <element name="FamilyName" type="string"/>
    <element name="IndividualName" type="string"/>
    <element name="SpouseName" type="string"/>
    <element name="BirthDate" type="dateTime"/>
    </sequence>
    </complexType>
    This works fine - the "WebSerice From WSDL" wizard "knows" how to generate a class for PersonInfoType (with geters and seters) as well as useful stub implementation:
    public class PersonInfoImpl {
    public PersonInfoType processPersonInfo(String entityCode) {
    return null;
    However, if I make my type multiple occuring (to represnt e.g. rows from a db)
    <complexType name="PersonInfoType">
    <sequence maxOccurs="unbounded" >
    <element name="FamilyName" type="string"/>
    <element name="IndividualName" type="string"/>
    <element name="SpouseName" type="string"/>
    <element name="BirthDate" type="dateTime"/>
    </sequence>
    </complexType>
    Now the Web Service generator runs, but just doesn't generate any PersonInfoType class at all. For a stub implementation it genertes the following:
    public class PersonInfoImpl {
    public SOAPElement processPersonInfo(String entityCode) {
    return null;
    Now I'm stuck with the container just expecting from me a Soap Object and I have to build all the pieces myself with no java mappings to my xsd at all. Not very useful.
    Is there another xml structure I can use to represent data rows that is better supported by the wizard?
    Thanks,
    Steve

  • I generated web service from function module.Where can I find .wsdl file ?

    Hi,
    I generated web service from function module.
    Where can I find .wsdl file ?
    I want to use .wsdl file in .Net application.
    Thanks.

    Hii Cemil Bozlagan,
      All Remote enabled Function Modules in Web AS 6.20 and Above are available as Webservices and the WSDL documents are available in the web service repository at
    [http://<host>:<port>/sap/bc/bsp/sap/webservicebrowser/search.html]
    Find the respective BAPI.
    Click on the WSDL link in the browser and download the WSDL document and use it as per the requirement

  • Consuming Web Service from ABAP

    I'm using WAS 6.4 SP10.
    I'm trying to consume a web service from our Intranet using instructions from ABAP256 from Teched 04.
    I get an error when I try to create a Proxy object.
    From SE80
    Enterprise Services>Create>Proxy Object
    URL/HTTP Destination:
    http://server/ServiceGATP/ServiceGATP.asmx?wsdl
    HTTP error (return code 400, message
    "ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED")
    I've tried with ABAP web services and that works great. But no success with non ABAP Web Services.
    From internet explorer the URL above seems fine. I can call it from a .NET application and it works great.
    Any suggestions?
    Could it be a system setup issue.
    Regards,
    Lavaughn

    Hi Lavaughn,
       Try maintaining HTTP proxy setting using transaction SM59->RFC->HTTP Proxy Configuration. I suspect your WAS server also need to use proxy server for accessing internet.
