Web Service navigator - external service

Shuld the web service navigator be able to test external web services? (i.e. 3rd party external web services available from companies like Xignite, StrikIron etc..)
I have tried but with no success. We have WSDL and can test with other web service tools (non-SAP), but seems tools within portal have trouble.
Is there some type of configuration that is necessary to allow this?

Hi,
if you are getting an error like
Cannot download WSDL from http://host:port/wisd/XXXX/XXXXXXXX/wsdl/YYYYYY.wsdl: It is not allowed to access this service. If you believe you should be able to, please contact your system administrator
then Please
- Open Visual Administrator of Portal
- Server > Services > Web Services Container
- Under Runtime TAB, please enter * (star) in the WEb Service Navigator White List > Allowed Hosts
After, try again

  • XI 3.0 and external Java client/web service

    Hello,
I'm desperately tryin' to get an external system to work together with XI 3.0.
    The setup is quite simple:
The external system is nothing but a simple Java program sending SOAP-based requests to a webservice. It is based on AXIS and is running satisfyingly when connecting directly to an appropriate Tomcat/AXIS-based web service, see the following communication.
    -- local request
    POST /axis/VAPService.jws HTTP/1.0
    Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8
    Accept: application/soap+xml, application/dime, multipart/related, text/*
    User-Agent: Axis/1.1
    Host: 192.168.1.2:8080
    Cache-Control: no-cache
    Pragma: no-cache
    SOAPAction: "http://localhost/SOAPRequest"
    Content-Length: 422

I made sure the business service in the integration directory is named SOAPRequest and is using SOAP as the communication channel. As the adapter engine I chose the integration server, since it is the only option, although the SOAP adapter framework is installed (according to the SLD) and deactivated any options like header and attachment.
Upon facing the above response I also tried any kind of derivative with inserting the described tag/attribute/element versionMajor, but to no avail.
    My questions are:
What do I have to do additionally to get the whole thing running, i.e. configure my external systems in the SLD, providing proxy settings?
Do I have to create web services within the Web AS (which provide some kind of facade to the XI engine using the proxy generation) and connect to these instead of directly addressing the integration engine (I'm using the URL http://<host>:<port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry, but I also tried http://<host>:<port>/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=:SOAPRequest:SOAPIn, this led to a 404 not found error)?
What settings do I have to provide to see the messages the client is sending, when looking into the runtime workbench it seems as if there are no messages at all - at least from my client?
Hopefully somebody might help me out or least provide some information to get me going.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    T.Hrastnik

    Hello Oliver,
all information I gathered so far derives from the online help for XI 3.0, to be found under http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/14/80243b4a66ae0ce10000000a11402f/frameset.htm. There You'll find - in the last quarter of the navigation bar on the left side - sections describing the adapter engine alonside the SOAP adapter.
Additionally I went through almost all postings in this forum.
This alonside the mandatory trial-and-error approach (I did a lot of it up to date) led me to my current status, i.e. so far I haven't found any kind of (simple) tutorial or demo saying "If You want to establish a web service based connection via SOAP between external applications and XI first do this, then that ...", sadly enough :-(.
Hope that helps, any questions are always welcome, I'll try my best to answer them ;-).
    Best regards,
    Tomaz

    Hi
We have already registered the application server and Database in the connections navigator. In the Application server,we have created different domains.
We used to deploy the bpel process to particular domain in the appplication server.
But for the web services, when we deply the web service, we were getting only the application server name, how can we deploy our process to external oc4j(Application server)?

    Hi Gurus,

  • Entering values in Web Services ID and Description, for External Catalog

    Hi,
I am trying to connect to an external Vendor Catalog from ERP. Pl note that we just have ERP ECC 6.0 and no SRM. I went to SPRO and followed menu path 'Materials Management >> Purchasing >> Web Services: ID and Description'. I am not sure what to enter in 1) Seq. Number  2) Name of Parameter for Web Service and 3) Call Structure COLUMNS.
I have URL from Vendor, User Name and Password. I need to know what values are mandatory here so I can successfully connect to external Catalog. If someone can give me sample values, I can try.
    Any help is appreciated,
    Niranjan

    Update on 08/23/2011.
We are able to connect to Vendor Catalog, select items in Cart. When I press 'Place Order' button, I see all items populated in SAP PO ME21N screen. We can then add other information and create PO. This is working great. We have another question. Heard that with ERP ECC 6.0, we can only connect 1 vendor catalog. But with SRM, we can connect more than  1 vendor catalog. Is there a BAPI or change SAP code to connect more than 1 vendor catalog from ECC 6.0 ?

  • Deliver data to external web service possible in OBIEE 11g?

    Hi all,
I'm looking into the possibility of "pushing" data from OBIEE and out to an external web service, e.g. through executing a scheduled report that instead of delivering the result on screen, it would call an external web service that would consume the generated data for storage in an external system.
Does anyone know if this is possible to implement in OBIEE 11g? (So far, all I've found is how to display data in OBIEE through consumation of web service(s), but I'd like to "push out" data to a web service from OBIEE).

  • Using an external web service and XMLBeans

I have an external document/literal web service that I want to use
(call) from inside workshop. I have listed a small example at the end
    of this email.
I am wondering if there is a way to call and receive from the web
service using XMLBeans. In the tutorial examples XMLBeans are only
used by marshaling and unmarshaling the xml structure into a string
which is what is actually passed according to the WSDL. However, in
this case (and I personally think in most cases) the schema is
explicitly described in the WSDL and passed as the message. I might
add the structures for my real service are much more complex and so
the value of XMLBeans is certainly applicable to them.
Clearly I can somehow save off the schema and generate XMLBeans from
it. The next step is much less clear, how do I tell my JCX to use the
beans instead of generating private classes to represent the
    structures?
To be honest I am a little surprised that for 8.1 the WSDL->JCX stuff
doesn't just leverage XMLBeans by default instead of generating basic
classes. This would give the power of XMLBeans to all web service
    calls.
    thanks,
    dave

  • Using an external web service  and local element declarations

I am attempting to use (call) an external web service from workshop
8.1. It seems that if the web service's schema contains local element
declarations with the same name then workshop will generate incorrect
JCX code because it doesn't scope the generated classes.
I think the following simple example will do a better job explaining
than that last paragraph ;). In the following WSDL, the element
"testLocalDec" is used inside two different element types. In XML
Schema this is not a problem because each one is "scoped" by the
element types its included in. However, the generated JCX (listed
second) simply contains the testLocalDec structure twice which causes
    problems in Java.
Is there some workaround for this? Note that making this element
declaration in the WSDL will not work because they are different
    structures (with different names).
Also see my next email around using XMLBeans with external services
(since that could be a workaround if I knew how to do it).
    thanks,
    dave

  • How to delete the Webservice entry from Web service navigator?

    Hi,
My current issue is that, developers have created many webserivces and these web services are visible in web service navigator that i access by following link
    http://<host>:<port>/wsnavigator
But now we have to remove the unwanted webservices i.e. i want that unwanted webservices should not be visible to anyone when we access WSNAVIGATOR.
How should i go about it?
Am i required to undeploy the web services that is deployed from SDM GUI?
Please pour in your valuable inputs.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Ameya

I had to revove the entry from VA. Removing this entry also removes the web service from ws navigator.

  • How can I call external web service from BPEL

    1. I have "EmpService" webservice (simple webservice to get emp salary, not in BPEL domain) running in Oracle AS host1. If I want to call this web service from BPEL in another host2. How can I do this?
    2. Is it a must to deploy this EmpService to Oracle BPEL domain in order to call it? If so, how can I deploy it. As many BPEL example tutorial demonstrate the "obant" command to deploy the BPEL process, but not show how to deploy a external web service not in BPEL project. Please help. ...

Create a partner link in BPEL and point it to the WSDL deployed on external server.

  • Setting the data source of an External List to a WCF Web Service

From SharePoint Online, I want to create/connect an External List to a SQL Azure data source.  This will feed a Visio diagram so I want it to be able to refresh and dynamically retrieve
    current data via Visio Services.<o:p></o:p>
I have a published WCF Web Service in place (Azure Website) connected to this database that consolidates data from multiple tables and returns a variety of generic lists.  From
my readings, this should bypass the need for much of the security (e.g. secure store, etc...).
Can I do this?  I'm not seeing an option to Create an ECT as in past versions to connect to this endpoint.  Do I have to create something in Visual Studio to Import?  Any direction
    would be much appreciated.<o:p></o:p>

Find and increase these variables in IIS: maxRequestEntityAllowed and uploadReadAheadSize
I had a similar issue a while back due to these settings.  They control data to and from ISAPI connections (of which CF is one) according to this article:
    http://www.iis.net/configreference/system.webserver/serverruntime
Sorry, I cant recall off hand where exactly those settings are in IIS but a quick Google search should turn it up for you.

  • Calling a web service in external system from SRM

    Hi folks,
A web service is created in the external system and I need to access this web service from a BADI. Can you tell me how can I call this web service (the external system is giving me a URL) and how I'll get a return. Please let me know in detail.
    Thanks,
    Prem

    Prem,
Hi. You can call the service via HTTP protocol. Pass them values (SET_DATA), and receive a response (GET_DATA), via xml/html.
In your code you would need to create the xml data to pass them, and evaluate the returned xml.
    Process...
    Data setup
    1) Create the XML to send them
    Working with the external service
    2) Open the HTTP connection
    2a) cl_http_client=>create_by_url (IF_HTTP_CLIENT)
    2b) lr_client->authenticate
    3) Call the to send them the XML
    3a) lr_client->request->set_data
    3b) lr_client->send
    4) Call the lr_client->receive to return the response
    5) Close the connection lr_client->close
    Data evaluate
    6) Evaluation the returned XML and process.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers
    Rob
