Web Service Proxy not returning Response in 11g

Hi,
I am facing a difference in the creation of Web Service Proxy in 11g when compared to 10g. I have exposure of creating a Web Service Proxy in 10g and I do observe that the folder name 'runtime' gets generated automatically along with the proxy at the time of creation.
But in 11g, the nature & behavior of Web Service Proxy creation has changed a lot according to my observation. I am facing an issue where the response object is not returning the expected results as per the functionality.
In 10g, we have used a Stub class (automatically created under 'runtime' folder) and we are able to put some logs to see the request and response object in the form of 'xml'. But in 11g, I am facing difficulty in getting the same logged to see the response from OPA.
Please share your thoughts which would definitely help me in resolving this issue.

Hi,
I have also tried using 'Web Service Data Control' as an alternate method to overcome the above mentioned issue. But I have ended up the error "DCA-29000: Unexpected exception caught: java.lang.NullPointerException,msg=null" and failed to create a data control.
The JDeveloper version which I am using is 11.1.1.5.0. I also came to know that there is a patch (9790388) which has resolved this bug in JDeveloper. I also applied the same patch in my Oracle Home using OPatch utility.
But unfortunatley, the version suitable for this patch is 11.1.1.4.0 and I suspected that could be one of the reason that the problem has not got resolved yet.
Please suggest the patch or any solution which can also help me in resolving this issue. I really appreciate your time and effort in sharing your thoughts for the problems which I have mentioned over here.
Thank you !!!

  • Web proxy not returning all elements

    Web proxy generated over a web service does not return all elements of an array. Testing of the web service on the application server results in three detail elements. However executing the web proxy only results in the first element being processed. Not sure where the disconnect is when generating the response object. Any suggestion is appreciated.

  • Web service proxy and data control are not working properly

    Hi,
    I am working on jDeveloper 11.1.1.6
    I have a SOA web service which requires 3 inputs and return with a set of data.
    When I tried testing that web service in soapUI it is working perfect. But when I have created a web service proxy in my application and trying to test it from class (*******_ptClient) main method everytime it is replying with the output null
    Also When I am requesting from the main method SOA is getting proper input (which I am providing in the main method) and SOA is returning proper output I have checked the SOA instance in em. So there is no problem in SOA side.
    After that I have created web service data control and tested in that case also it is not showing any result.
    What could be the problem ?
    Please help.
    Thanks

    Hi Shay Shmeltzer,
    Thanks for the reply.
    I tried in HTTP Analyzer in JDeveloper and there also it is not working. My concern is :-
    There are many other web services deployed on the same SOA server in same partition and they are working fine in HTTP analyzer and I am able to create and use the web service proxy as well. So as per my understanding there is nothing like network issues between SOA server and jDeveloper.
    1 more thing When I am creating the proxy for this web service and requesting from the proxy's main method SOA is getting proper input (which I am providing in the main method) and SOA is returning proper output I have checked the SOA instance in em. So there is no problem in SOA side. The problem is jDeveloper is not able to get back that response which SOA is returning.

  • 11G - XDB Native Web Services - how to create a web service proxy

    Hi,
    I am working on XDB Native web Services (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28369/xdb_web_services.htm#CHDDBCHB). I want to create a proxy web service for orawsv service (http://server:port/orawsv?wsdl), which is protected by an user/password
    In Jdeveloper 10133:
    + copy orawsv wsdl (http://server:port/orawsv?wsdl) in local file
    + create a proxy web service form the local wsdl (from the wizard)
    + implement the client (http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/11gr1_db/datamgmt/xmldb2_b/xmldb2_b.htm)
    ==> OK
    In Jdeveloper 11g
    + copy orawsv wsdl (http://server:port/orawsv?wsdl) in local file
    + create a proxy web service form the local wsdl (from the wizard)
    + how to implement the client : there is no method to set a password
    any ideas?

    I'm working on getting a proxy web service working in 11g and the contents of this thread is close to answering my question.
    The web service proxy is accessing a service that requires a SOAP Security header.
    In looking at the previous post, I thought that by using the BindingProvider API I could add the security settings. But when I invoke the proxy I consistently get the following error response from the (PeopleSoft) web service: "com.sun.xml.ws.client.ClientTransportException: request requires HTTP authentication: Unauthorized'
    In contrast to that error, when I use JDeveloper's HTTP Analyzer, I get a successful response from the web service. Below is what the raw HTTP looks like:
    POST https://isiswebdev.services.wisc.edu:7002/PSIGW/PeopleSoftServiceListeningConnector HTTP/1.1
    Content-Type: text/xml; charset=UTF-8
    Host: isiswebdev.services.wisc.edu:7002
    SOAPAction: "CI_U_FA_CSA_STDTA_CI_G.V2"
    Content-Length: 548
    X-HTTPAnalyzer-Rules: 1
    <env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:ns1="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-secext-1.0.xsd" xmlns:ns2="http://xmlns.oracle.com/Enterprise/Tools/schemas/M183895.V1">
    <env:Header>
    <ns1:Security>
    <ns1:UsernameToken>
    <ns1:Username>UserName</ns1:Username>
    <ns1:Password>XXXXXXX</ns1:Password>
    </ns1:UsernameToken>
    </ns1:Security>
    </env:Header>
    <env:Body>
    <ns2:Get__CompIntfc__U_FA_CSA_STDTA_CI>
    <ns2:EMPLID>012345678912</ns2:EMPLID>
    </ns2:Get__CompIntfc__U_FA_CSA_STDTA_CI>
    </env:Body>
    </env:Envelope>
    Here's the Java code that I'm using to try to make the same call:
    public void callIWebservice(String emplId){
    cSA_STDNT_DATA = new CSA_STDNT_DATA();
    CI_U_FA_CSA_STDTA_CI_PortType port = cSA_STDNT_DATA.getCI_U_FA_CSA_STDTA_CI_Port();
    Map<String, Object> requestContext = ((BindingProvider)port).getRequestContext();
    requestContext.put(BindingProvider.USERNAME_PROPERTY, "UserName");
    requestContext.put(BindingProvider.PASSWORD_PROPERTY,"XXXXXXX");
    GetCompIntfcUFACSASTDTACITypeShape CiType = new GetCompIntfcUFACSASTDTACITypeShape();
    EMPLIDTypeShape emplIDType = new EMPLIDTypeShape();
    emplIDType.setValue(emplId);
    CiType.setEMPLID(emplIDType);
    try {
    GetCompIntfcUFACSASTDTACIResponseTypeShape response = port.getDATA(CiType);
    System.out.println(response.getCUMGPA());
    } catch (M464939V1 e) {
    System.out.println(e.getFaultInfo());
    But, alas, I just get the ClientTransportException.
    Is the Bindingprovider interface the correct way to add the soap security headers? Or am I following the wrong path?
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Business Tier / Web Services / Web Services Proxy does not exists

    Hi,
    from the documentation:
    'To call a web service from an application module, you perform three steps:
    1. Create a web service proxy class for the web service.
    2. Create an instance of the web service proxy class in your application module.
    3. Invoke one or more methods on the web service proxy object.'
    The web service proxy is supposed to be under 'New / Business Tier / Web Services / Web Services Proxy', but all I have in the item-list is the 'UDDI Registry Connection', no 'Web Services Proxy'. Does anyone know how to get the 'Web Services Proxy' as an item in the Web-services gallery ?

  • Web service proxy receiving single element in array

    I've generated a web service proxy over a web service and expect to get multiple elements returned from the web service. However when I excute the proxy I receive only the first element. Testing the web service with the same parameters on the application server shows that I should be receiving 3 elements in total. Not sure where the disconnect is in generating the response message within the proxy. Any suggestions is appreciated.

    Are you looking for SOAP ENC Array feature? Which version are you using 10134 or 11g?

  • Web service proxy and security constraint

    I've placed a security constraint on my web service and set the login-config auth-method as BASIC. When I run the Workshop test and the (Test View) browser begins to appear I am prompted for my username and password since it is protected --- great, it's working.
    Here's my problem, when I create the Java Proxy and try to access the web service using the proxy in another application I am never prompted for my username and password and thus the request fails. Anyway to fix this so I can be promted using the proxy??

  • Web Service Proxy with Dynamic IP and Port

    hi,
    I am currently looking at the Web Service Proxy generation in JDev 11g. I can generate proxies fine, but the proxies are generated with static host and port. I want to substitute the host and port during runtime if required, for instance read the values from a database. I need to do this to avoid compiling the application for every deployment we make dev, test and production. Is there an easy way to set the generated proxy host and port? Are there any examples?
    Thanks in advance!
    Stephen

    Hi,
    Maybe you should have a look on XML Catalogs feature, but I am not sure if JDeveloper support it and how to support it.

    I checked WLS10.3 release note, it seems supported.

  • Web Service Proxy wizard doesn't open up in edit-mode anymore

    I've created a web service proxy project for my existing bpel processes and since the bpel processes server has changed, the endpoint has changed as well.
    When I update the endpoint in the <webservicename>_Stub.java file from the webservice proxy client everything works fine.
    But when I try to go back in edit-mode inside the wizard, the wizard complains about the old endpoint url of the bpel process. If I search in the project after that specific hostname, I can't find any file or folder referring to the old url.
    Could somebody explain me why I can't invoke the wizard anymore for a web service proxy client if the endpoint has changed?
    Kind Regards,
    Nathalie

    Hi Nathalie,
    Which version of JDeveloper are you using?
    With the latest release, 11g Tech Preview 2, I don't think you can re-enter the wizard by double-clicking on the service proxy icon on the application navigator tree.
    From the context menu, the only option is to edit handlers, add custom mapping, security or reliability.
    I have found that using ant-based tasks is a better way to get predictable and reproducable outputs, even if the learning curve is not easy.
    Here is just a snippet to give you a concret sample:
      <target name="genproxy">
        <delete dir="./gen_src"/>
        <o :genProxy wsdl="http://${endpoint.host}/pge/webservice?WSDL" output="./gen_src"/>
        <o :genProxy wsdl="http://${endpoint.host}/pge/webservice?WSDL"
                    mapheaderstoparameters="true" databinding="false" output="./gen_src"
                    packagename="com.selectg"/>
      </target>Hope it helps,
    -Eric
    I add an extra space in the XML, so that the o: prefix is displayed in the XML snippet

  • Web Service Proxy and SSL

    Hi everyone,
    I am quite new to Web services and Jdeveloper in particular, but here is what Im trying to accomplish.
    I have created a Web Service Proxy using Jdeveloper 11g. I am trying to consume an external Service that is using SSL.
    I can see the WSDL, Jdev creates the stubs for me and I have added the code required. However, I keep getting the following error.

    I have been able to make this work using Netbeans, but JDeveloper is a client requirement.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Joe Fallon.

    Have you tried importing the 3rd parties public certificate for SSL to your CACerts keystore ($ORACLE_HOME/jdk/jre/lib/security/cacerts) on machine that is invoking call?
    We had a similar issue and adding to the CAcerts keystores resolved.
