Web Service returning data from 2 proxies

Hi Guys,
Can someone help me with the design here.. We're using XI 7.1 and I'm still struggling with my Sync soap sender to proxy interface.
I've got my basic soap sender to proxy which returns a structure from the proxy sending it back to the web service as a response.
like so: [Screen Print|http://www.photostand.co.za/images/orvgugyciny7x1nu4oua.png]
But now I need to include another proxy to get other data and send that back in this response show above. Can I have 2 sync target operations sending back a response to the same source operation?
Thanks,
Jan

What is your Traget System?
If ABAP proxy--Follow beloa appraoch
option 1: develop two sync interfaces
Option 2: Develop Receiver response proxy structure and this structure should hold two proxy responses and write proxy logic to send response in one shot.
in this case one interface enough.

Raj

  • How configure a primavera web service to return data from the second database?

    Hi everyone,
    We have P6 with first WS deployed on a single server weblogic domain. The first WS return data from the first database instance.
    Then deployed advanced second WS on a separate weblogic domain server with a different port. Configured second WS with <WS2_INSTALL_HOME>/bin/dbconfig.sh, creating a new branch of a configuration that specifies a different second instance of the database. However, this configuration is ignored and second web services return data from the first database.
    We have one domain, which including next servers:
    Name / Host / Port / Deployments
    P6 / localhost / 0001 / P6(v8.3), p6ws1(v8.3)
    p6ws2 / localhost / 0002 / p6ws2(v8.3)

    How to configure a second web service to return data from the second database?
    Thanks in advance!

    Dmitry

    OK, so I got this to work this morning with Username Token Profile (with little help from Oracle Support).
    I followed your steps 1-4 but in step 2 I didn't add the -Ddatabase.instance=2 because I want to check to see if my code could swap between different instances.
    It appears for Username Token Profile to use Database Instance, you need to set it in the soap header.
    So my soap request looks like this:

  • Can "SPML Web Service Complex Data Type field" take multiple values ?

    In Generic Technology Connector's -SPML design parameters section, Can we give multiple values in SPML Web Service Complex Data Type field?
    If not, how can i call methods directly instead of calling them through a values of the "name" attribute of the "complexType" element in SPML Web Service Complex Data Type?
    I need 'SPML Web Service Complex Data Type' to hold multiple values.And based on the request it has to initiate appropriate method of action.
    Presently i have three methods add,modify and delete which i am calling through a single value of the "name" attribute of the "complexType" element in SPML Web Service Complex Data Type.
    I want to replace this single value with multiple menthods , so that a direct interaction between the method,OIM and target can be established.

    Thanks Robert.
    You'll need to create your own interface to the webapp database for those kind of data operations
    by this, are you speaking of the internal BC database which stores web app schema data? That would be great if it were possible to update that programmatically because I need to use the List (Checkbox List) field type (for the search functionality), but I need to supply the checkbox options from a web app rather than by manually updating the list entered in the Fields view of the web app settings (shown below).
    I'm curious if anyone else has tried this?
    Again, my reason for needing to use the List (Checkbox List) field type is that the page which processes searches knows to expect a comma separated list for this field type and then appears to be parsing out the individual values for searching out web app items with 1 or more matching values. You're right that text fields (string and multiline) just check for 'string contains' matches, and this would be ok if I was only ever needing to search just one value at a time. Here's an example of what I might do:
    Web App item field value (as recorded against the List (Checkbox List) field type:
    8294877,8294878
    Web App Search value (for this same field):
    8294879,8294877,8294885
    The search would return this web app item because the field contains 2 (1 or more) individual values even though they were entered into the search field in a different order. If this web app item were just a Text (string or multiline) field, the searched value is not a substring of the web app item's stored value, so it would not find a match. Hence the need to use Checkbox List field type.
    The web app will have thousands if not 10s of thousands of records, so dumping them all into one big array or object and searching on the front-end won't be practical (though it works great on smaller datasets).

  • PLSQL web service returning multiple records

    Hello,
    I am trying to create a web service using oracle 11g which should be able to return multiple records.
    Based on hints and code samples found on the internet here is my code :
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE test_rec is OBJECT (
        s_nume_adre                    NUMBER ,
        c_eta_civi                     VARCHAR2(4 BYTE),
        l_nom1_comp                    VARCHAR2(40 BYTE),
        l_nom2_comp                    VARCHAR2(40 BYTE),
        l_nom3_comp                    VARCHAR2(40 BYTE),
        l_pren_comp                    VARCHAR2(30 BYTE),
        d_date_nais                    DATE);
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE test_array AS TABLE OF test_rec;
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE test_pkg AS
      function get_rows(snume_adre in number) return test_array;
    END;
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY test_pkg AS
      function get_rows(snume_adre in number) return test_array is

          if v_first then
            v_first := false;
          else

    Any hint as how to create and access pl sql web service returning multiple rows?
    I don't use java and don't have access to tools like JDeveloper.
    Thanks!

    The actual issue is that collection types are not supported for return parameters.
    The solution is to wrap the collection into another object.
    Here's a working example based on your settings :
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE test_rec is OBJECT (
      empno  number(4)
    , ename  varchar2(10)
    , hiredate date
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE test_array AS TABLE OF test_rec;
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE test_array_wrapper is OBJECT ( arr test_array );
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE test_pkg AS
      function get_rows(p_deptno in number) return test_array_wrapper;
    END;
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY test_pkg AS
      function get_rows(p_deptno in number) return test_array_wrapper is
        results  test_array;
      begin
        select test_rec(empno, ename, hiredate)
        bulk collect into results
        from scott.emp
        where deptno = p_deptno;
        return test_array_wrapper(results);
      end;
    END;
    The wsdl is then generated correctly :
    SQL> select httpuritype('http://DEV:dev@localhost:8080/orawsv/DEV/TEST_PKG/GET_ROWS?wsdl').getxml() from dual;
    HTTPURITYPE('HTTP://DEV:DEV@LOCALHOST:8080/ORAWSV/DEV/TEST_PKG/GET_ROWS?WSDL').GETXML()

  • BUG: Web service returns request XML as response when result too large

    Hi,
    sorry for cross-posting, but the Web Services forum seems to be quite abandoned and this is an urgent issue for me.
    I have a web service returning some records of a given type (created using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3). The running environment and the service implementation do not seem to make any difference, as the situation is the same whether running it in embedded OC4J or in AS 10.1.3.1, and whether it is generated from a PL/SQL procedure or a method of a plain Java class.
    The problem is that if the result of this web service is too large (contains a lot of records), then the processing halts in some Oracle class in some web service library, so not in a debuggable generated web service source or in the service implementation itself.
    I think that the XML processing halts because of a "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space".
    Then a more serious problem follows: the service doesn't return a fault message but the original request XML as a response. Obviously, this can lead to some really unexpected errors.
    To reproduce this error:
    1. Create a Java class with a method returning an array of an arbitrary type, of the size specified in an input parameter.
    2. Create a web service from this class.
    3. Call it multiple times increasing the size parameter in every call until you get back the request as response or any error message.
    For example:
    - if you test the web service using the web page generated to access the endpoint, then you can see the response XML - in case you don't get an Internal Server Error (Java heap space).
    - if you use a generated web service proxy for testing, then it will give an error saying "unexpected element name: expected={namespace}someOperationResponseElement
    actual={namespace}someOperationElement".
    Any ideas how to locate / solve this problem?
    Regards,
    Patrik

    Patrik,
    the usual recommendation is to try with 10.1.3.3 instead of 10.1.3.1 to exclude you are hunting down an already fixed issue. From what you describe, the error seems less JDeveloper related than OC4J or OracleAs.
    So in case it reproduces in 10.1.3.3 I suggest to create a testcase and open a service request with support, or try the OC4J forum in case its known there.

  • Web Service returning JCO.Table with no content

    Hello all,
    I've written a web service returning an object of type JCO.Table
    When I'm testing it in the Web Service Navigator the response contains two parameters: tabLength and row (current row number), but doesn't contain the content of the table.
    I tried testing the Web Service also from Webdynpro but its the same -
    the result contains a ComplexTypeJCOTable and from that object I can only get the tabLength and row.
    Anyone knows why is it happening?
    Thanks for your help, Adi.

    Hi Rajendrakumar Gaikwad,
    Thanks for your suggestion.
    I don't think this will be an efficient solution for me or for the web service clients.
    I'm still looking for an explanation why can't I get the JCO.Table content.
    Is it impossible for some reason or am I doing anything wrong?
    Thanks again, Adi.

  • What happens when a OUT parameter of a web-service returns an empty string

    Hi,
    Any idea on how to deal with the situation when a web-service returns an empty string
    I get the following System Exception:-
    Caused by: java.lang.AssertionError: Attempt to set empty javaType to ticketResponse(out,0) :: fuego.type.FuegoClass$LazyRef@6770f2. It must be null or a valid java type.
    It therefore either expects a null value or a valid java type...
    Since it goes into a system exception, the activity is not completed and nothing is inserted into the web-service..
    How do we resolve this error inside of BPM?

    Thanks Ben for your replies.
    Before I attempt changing a VI that was written by a client and make a total mess of it, there's something I'd like to point out.
    I tried the re-entrant VI approach and that didn't go any further than the VIT approach, and probably for the same reason(s).
    The interesting part is that (with the VIT approach) the same VIT is called by another process and it works fine.  It is just for the process that has it appear within 2 sub-panels.  So the issue is related to having either having two instances spawn at once of the same VIT or it is related to the sub-panels.  I think it is the two instances (or copies of the VIT) that causes LV to caugh...
    So you are trying to tell me that the above description is accurate and it is because of the private methods...??...
    How would I "wrap" those private methods into public ones?  The seems to be a piece of this puzzle that I am not yet grasping..
    Thanks for your patience and help.

    Bit stuck on something, hope somebody here can help:
    I want to do a 'select * from ' a table, to return all columns except ones of a certain datatype. ie. I want to return data from all columns, excluding columns of datatype 'SDO_GEOMETRY'.
    This gives me the list of columns:
    SELECT COLUMN_NAME
    FROM   USER_TAB_COLUMNS
    WHERE TABLE_NAME = 'ORDER_ITEM'
    AND   DATA_TYPE <> 'SDO_GEOMETRY'; But I can't seem to take it any further...
    Now if I knew the columns beforehand, then of course I could just list them, excluding the geometry column, but this is to be used for a plug-in for MS Word, where a user can pick database columns to dynamically fill a report from - but I don't want the geometry columns as these can't be handled in this way.

    Hi Reggie,
    > connects to the database and presents a list of tables
    My guess is that this macro is written so it selects from all_tab_cols.
    Change that plugin and let it select from a view like the one above. That way, the users won't be able to see/pick anything that you are not able/willing to present for them.
    Edit:
    You could even tease your users, and let them see the columns, but not being able to pick them.
    create or replace view available_tab_columns
    as
       select decode(pickable.data_type, null, 0, 1) pickable
             ,atc.* -- narrow down yourself
         from all_tab_cols atc  -- or maybe user_tab_cols
             ,(select 'CHAR' data_type from dual union all
               select 'DATE' from dual union all
            select 'NUMBER' from dual
               -- complete positive list, yourself
              ) pickable
        where atc.data_type = pickable.data_type(+);Regards

  • The ways to return data from a stored procedure.

    Hi, I know there are three ways to pass out a value from a Microsoft SQL stored procedure, but I have no clear idea what Oracle SP can do, I know Oracle doesn't support multi-recordset(v8), can not return a recordset by a inner select query, but I do know there is a cursor object, which doesn't like its counterpart in Microsoft SQL server, is a choice under most situation. Here I wonder anyone who is good at Oracle can give a list of all ways to return data from a SP, including example is more better, thanks.

    Here is a way to get return a record from a function and a procedure. You need to be familiar with Oracle packages as well as stored procedures and functions:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE EmpPkg AS
    cursor cEmp(pEmpno in number) is
    select empno, ename, job, hiredate, sal
    from emp
    where empno = pEmpno;
    FUNCTION GetEmployee(pnEmpNo in number) RETURN cEmp%rowtype;
    PROCEDURE GetEmployee(pnEmpNo in number, prEmp out cEmp%rowtype);
    END;
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY EmpPkg AS
    FUNCTION GetEmployee(pnEmpNo in number) RETURN cEmp%rowtype IS
    rEmp cEmp%rowtype;
    BEGIN
    open cEmp(pnEmpNo);
    fetch cEmp into rEmp;
    close cEmp;
    return rEmp;
    END;
    PROCEDURE GetEmployee(pnEmpNo in number, prEmp out cEmp%rowtype) IS
    BEGIN
    open cEmp(pnEmpNo);
    fetch cEmp into prEmp;
    close cEmp;
    END;
    END;
    Here's how you use the package:
    DECLARE
    rEmp EmpPkg.cEmp%rowtype;
    BEGIN
    rEmp := EmpPkg.GetEmployee(7782);
    dbms_output.put_line(rEmp.ename);
    EmpPkg.GetEmployee(7902, rEmp);
    dbms_output.put_line(rEmp.ename);
    END;
    Note that you can return any Oracle data type from a function. Likewise, you can specify any Oracle data type as an out parameter in a procedure. Also, you can make a parameter both an in and an out datatype like this:
    PROCEDURE GetEmployee(pnEmpNo in out number);
    I hope this puts you in the right direction.

  • HOW TO CALL A WEB SERVICE OR EJB FROM BPEL

    HI
    i want to call java web service or ejb from my bpel process. how can i do this.
    i am using oracle soa10.1.3.1.0 and jdeveloper 10.1.3.1.0 and oracle database xe 10g.
    thanks in advance K ROY

    You could deploy your EJB or Java under a web service into your OC4J, after that, you invoke a partnerlink from BPEL to the destination of wsdl will do. Also don't forget to add in your XSD schema as well.
    Thanks,

  • Return data from spark list itemrenderer

    Does anybody no how to return data from the itemrender for a spark list. say i had a checkbx in my itemrenderer how can I get that info back to my main component if its selected or not. I looked at datagrid and itemeditor but I really rather use a spark list. Thanks

    thanks I also found another way to doing it. A click handler on my list when that fires I can check if checkbx has been selected by doing event.target.document.mycheckBx.selected this will not work if using currentTarget cause it take the info from the itemRenderer. Now I understand the difference between currentTarget and target.
    not sure if this is a better way to access the data I think I might still just dispatch a event and do it your way.
    Its weird that mx:list has a editItemRenderer  and s:list does not

  • Web Service as Data Service of a Combo Box?

    Hi,
    I tried to use a Web Service as Data Service for a dynamic entry list of a Combo Box. The problem is that I can’t see any entry in the resulting iView.
    The Web Service is working for sure; I can present the containing data in a table. I also tested BAPIS as Data Service for my Combo Box they are working properly.
    Has anyone an idea how to solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance
    Robert

    Hi Jarrod,
    I tried a drop down list instead, still the same Problem. The connection to the web service works properly there is no problem. I can choose it and the data service test is working fine.
    I also tried to use a value help instead of a drop down list, there encounters the problem that it’s not possible to select any of my data services, neither web services nor BAPI’s.
    Any idea?
    Robert
