Web Service Wizard in R/3

If this is the wrong forum for my question, kindly indicate which forum would be best suited.
IN SAP CRM 5.0 there is a tranasction WS_WZD_START to launch a wizard to create web services from RFC BAPI"s is there such a transaction available in R/3?
If not how can I achive this functionality in R/3?
I need to use a BAPI in R/3 for Material management, in CRM exposing BAPI's as web service makes it very easy for non-SAP system to call. So when i need R/3 BAPI's what is the work around. Can I create a wrapper in CRM that will call an R/3 BAPI? Is this possible?

Hi Anoop

for publishing the web service i have done all the settings in he visual administrator. after that in the UDDI tool i have done three steps.
1. first i select the Publish Business Entity radio button, provide all the information and in lasti got the message the business entity is published successfully and a key is also generated.
2. then i select the option publish service radio button provide all the necesssary information and in last i got the message service published successfully and again a key is generated.
this time a different key.
3. then i select the third radio button on the UDDI tool, provide all the information and in that it was giving the error
An ERROR has occurred

  • Publish PLSQL as web service wizard

    Is there a way to control naming of complex types in web services that are generated by “publish PLSQL as web service” wizard?
    I.E. for a type defined in the database called MY_TEST_TYPE the wizard generates something like MY_CONNECTION_MY_TEST_TYPEUser. I would like to see just MY_TEST_TYPE
    I know that this can be edited after the generation, but then benefits of managing 100% generated code would be lost.
    Thanks

    You may use properties file while generating Java classes via JPublisher wizard. You tell JPublisher wizard to omit schema (omit_schema_names parameter) names for your types, etc. You can read "About Properties Files" in JDeveloper help. Create a properties file and put all options in that file then use that file (somewhere in the wizard dialog - I do not remember) while generating Java classes via JPublisher wizard.
    The properties file example
    jpub.case=lower
    jpub.numbertypes=jdbc
    jpub.omit_schema_names
    jpub.methods=true
    Hope this helps.

  • Web Service Wizards crash with java.lang.StackOverflowError

    Hi there!
    I'm desperately trying to integrate some Web Services into our Java project developed with NWDS 2.0.7 / WebAS 6.40. Unfortunately every time I try to create Virtual Interfaces or a Web Service within the Web Service Perspective, nothing happens.
    When I use File/New/Other/Web Service (New VI and WSD) the whole Developer Studio simply crashes with a java.lang.StackOverflowError.
    I restarted from scratch with a new project in a different workspace and everything went fine. So I think it's not a problem with my installation but with the project's configuration I want to create the Web Services in. Perhaps it's something to do with the .classpath or the such?
    Do you have any idea where I can start looking into for getting any hints, what's going wrong here?
    I've added a Configuration Details output for reference below. Any help is greatfully appreciated!
    Best regards,
       Frank

  • NullPointerException in Create J2EE Web Service Wizard

    I created an EJB2.1 session bean that has a method which returns an user defined class and also throws user defined exception. I tried to use the Create J2EE Web Service and chose to use RPC/Encoded scheme.
    The WSDL and java-wsdl mapping files were generated, but I got the following messages and exception. The webservices.xml and oracle-webservices.xml were not generated and wizard did not finish. Any ideas why would this happen?

  • Web services wizard hangs

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a stub/skeleton for an external wsdl file. I click the next button and the tool just hangs. Eventually it comes back with "cannot locate wsdl file".
    I have tried with proxy turned on and off but I get the same result.
    However I can open up the wsdl file in IE. I then save the wsdl file locally and use the wizard again to access the locally saved wsdl file. I provide proxy information including userid and password and now everything works.
    I am not sure as to what is wrong with webservices wizard not able to access external wsdl files.
    Regards,
    Madhav

    Thanks Brian.
    I am using the fully qualified hostname to access the external wsdl file.
    eg: http://www.xml-webservices.net/services/maths/calculator.asmx?WSDL
    Our HTTP proxy requires us to provide a username and password. When I handle it in java code, everything works fine only if I use the SOAPHTTPConnection object and not the OracleSOAPHTTPConnection object.
    You mention that the HTTP stack in JDeveloper 9i does not support username and password for HTTP proxy. Will this feature be offered in the future.
    I use another webservice toolkit called Glue and in there everything works fine !

  • Cannot invoke Web service wizard

    I get an error when I try to create Regenerate a Webservice from the JDeveloper
    in a Modal Dialog box.
    Cannot Invoke Wizard
    oracle.bali.xml.addin.XMLSourceNode
    I checked to see if the xmladdin.jar file is in the extensions folder and find it there. The only thing i did was to perform an update and I installed
    OrindaBuild com.orindasoft.pub
    OrindaBuild Apache Log4J
    OrindaBuild Java Logging
    When i open my project i get an error in the extensions.xml. Pointing to the above three. Is there a way to uninstall these updates?
    Any suggestions are greatly apprecaited
    kris

    To uninstall the extension just go to [jdev-root]\jdev\lib\ext and remove the relevant files/directories

  • Proxy Object generation error using Wizard for Web Service Consumption

    HI all,
    I am using the Web Service Proxy Object Generation Wizard (via SE80) and have successfully been able to create a Proxy Object for a Web Service which resides on our INTRAnet.
    ...But now I am trying to consume a Web Service out on the INTERnet and I get an error I cannot quite understand when generating the Proxy Object using the URL of the WSDL of the SOAP Web Service.
    The initial error in SE80 simply states "No vendor specified", but when I double-click on the error to get the long text I get the following error:
    Incorrect value: Namespace prefix q1 of QName q1:RequestArray is undeclared
    Exception of class CX_SLIB
    Has anyone seen this or have experience with this?
    I am a senior ABAP-er but have very little experence on the web development side of things so this looks very foreign to me.
    Any input would be GREATLY appreciated!
    Thanks!!
    -Chris

    RESOLVED! ---
    I figured it out with further trial and error...
    Turns out I was using the SOAP version of the WSDL (I had a choice b/ween SOAP, REST, and XML).
    When I simply supply the XML version of the WSDL to the Proxy in the Web Services Wizard, the error vanished and the Proxy Objects generated just fine !!
    ..Closing this problem.

  • Unable to expose a method in web service

    Hi,
    My scenario is to expose a method in service. This method will take date as input & should return all the rows.
    To Implement this, I took employeeVO of HR DB(Employees Table) & created a ViewCriteria "GetEmpbyHireDate" with Hiredate as input param.
    & in AMImpl the code is
    public BaseEmployeeVOImpl getEmployeesByHireDate(Date hiredate){
    BaseEmployeeVOImpl baseEmployeeVO = (BaseEmployeeVOImpl) findViewObject("BaseEmployee1");
    baseEmployeeVO.setApplyViewCriteriaName("GetEmpbyHireDate");
    baseEmployeeVO.setNamedWhereClauseParam("pHireDate", hiredate);
    baseEmployeeVO.executeQuery();
    return baseEmployeeVO;
    The issue is I'm not able to see this method in "Available" list of Web Service Wizard.
    Help me in understanding what is missing ?
    Thanks in advance.
    P.S. from Jdev Help I understood that "Only methods with simple attributes as parameters and return types that are either void or view rows will appear in the list." & my method is returning rows of a EmployeeVO.

    Hi,
    2 comments:
    1) View Criteria can be directly exposed as find methods. Its on the last wizard page (just click the View Criteria tab). So no need for an Impl method
    2) If you wanted to expose a method, then the documentation I think is crystal clear: "oracle.jbo.server.ViewRowImpl or any subtype" Your method returns BaseEmployeeVOImpl (see the difference ?)

  • Type mismatch on SOAP Web Service method invocation

    When I run the generated client for a web service, I get the following error, which I can get rid of by using a primitive type (e.g. String) as the parameter to doSomething instead of wstest.test2.APIClass3, i.e. the SOAP server seems happy handling wstest.test2.APIClass1 as a return type, but not a similar class as a parameter type:
    [SOAPException: faultCode=SOAP-ENV:Server; msg=type mismatch [java.lang.IllegalArgumentException]]
         wstest.test2.APIClass1 wstest.test2.EmbeddedStatelessTest2Stub.doSomething(wstest.test2.APIClass3)
              EmbeddedStatelessTest2Stub.java:89
         void wstest.test2.EmbeddedStatelessTest2Stub.main(java.lang.String[])
              EmbeddedStatelessTest2Stub.java:48
    I am using JDeveloper9i 9.0.3 Preview and the standalone OC4J 9.0.3 that came with it. I followed the Oracle9i JDeveloper 9.0.3 Web Services Quickstart Install (http://otn.oracle.com/tech/webservices/htdocs/quickstart/quickstart903.html) to get OC4J running standalone. I had to register the stateless EJB provider, and the WEB services wizard didn't manage to include APIClass2 (an instance of which is contained in APIClass1) in the .dd so I added it manually which works fine with APIClass1 as the method return type.
    Sorry for the length of this posting, but I wasn't sure which bits would be relevant.

  • Can I Include an xml-stylesheet Link in a Java Web-Service?

    The ability to easily create a SOAP-based web-service from a Java class using JDev's built in "Java Web Service" wizard is great.
    From an "Ajax enablement" perspective, I see tremendous value in having the ability to specify an XSL url in the call to that web-service, so that the server will insert an <?xml-stylesheet .../> link to the specified URL prior to the SOAP message that it returns. That way, different callers to the web-service could render the same SOAP response differently (via an XSL transformation performed on the client-side via the XSL they've specified).
    Is there already an undocumented way to do this with an Oracle "Java Web Service" that I am not aware of? If not, adding that capability would be trivial for Oracle, and it would add tremendous value to developers using Oracle's "Java Web Service" capability.

    Hi Chris,
    I take it you are using the RESTful API method to GET the data. In that case you shoul be able to perform a http POST from your js code in order to update the controls.
    This could be done as form components are updated, or after a submit button is pressed (I'm sure you are familiar with this part).
    Please see here for more information: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361J-01/lvhowto/build_web_service/
    I hope this helps.

  • EJB 3.0 Web Service

    Hi!
    I tried to create a Web Service (through wizard) from existing EJB 3.0 Session Bean. Basicly, the wizard just added @WebService annotation to my existing code...
    Now, the problem is that simple methods like:
    @WebMethod
    public String helloWorld() {
      return "Hello World!";
    }works fine. Expect that if I use Local Interface for this Session Bean, the WSDL shows two helloWorld methods (and one is with exclamation icon showing some kind of problem with multiple methods with same name - but it is not true, I have one and the other one is just interface).
    But, when I want to expose my real business service methods like:
    @WebMethod
    public List<Employee> getEmployees() {
      return (List<Employee>)q.getResultList();
    }it doesn't work (the Web Service create wizard finishes ok but service doesn't work)! When I try "Test Web Service" (from Session Bean context-menu) or "Show WSDL for Web Service annotations" the error is thrown (Null pointer exception in WSDL).
    Basically, it looks to me that Web Service cannot use EJB Entities as parameters or results. Is this correct? I saw some examples on EJB 3.0 web services and there are entities routinely used as both input and output parameters.
    Can someone, please, explain me what I'm doing wrong here.
    Thanks in advance,
    Pedja
    P.S. In Web Service wizard, only SOAP 1.1 is enabled. How can I choose SOAP 1.2? And what EJB 3.0 bindings are in same context (SOAP 1.2 or EJB 3.0 bindings?)?

    Hi Frank,
    Most of those problems are resolved (NPE was due to Timestamp field, and two methods with the same name in WSDL because of not choosing to generate SEI in wizard, so the generated WSDL had one method from the Session bean and the other from it's Local interface). But, the errors should DEFINITELY be more descriptive.
    Does the wizard work correctly? I noticed plenty of "bug like" details. For example, if I choose to create asynchronous web service, later when I go to Properties the "Asynchronous Web Service" checkbox isn't checked. Also, the @WebMethod annotations are sometimes generated and sometimes not (even if the method is checked to be exposed).
    I am also getting these exceptions when I create a proxy for the asynchronous web service (I selected "Generate asynchronous methods for all operations"), could be I'm doing something wrong:
    WARNING: The parameter/return type "java.util.concurrent.Future" in the method

  • How to use server-side classes in a web service proxy client ?

    Greetings,
    I'm using WebLogic 10.3 with Workshop 10.3 on Windows. I generate a Web Service client in Workshop. There are two options in the New->Others->Web Service category: ClientGen Web Service Client and Web Service Client. I've chosen the second one as it's a JAX-WS Web Service and I think that the first one (ClientGen Web Service is to be used with JAX-RPC Web Services. The proxy is generated but, since the Web Service is using POJOs as parameters, a new version of these POJOs is also generated. For example, my Web Service has an operation like: public OrderStatus putOrder (Order), where OrderStatus and Order are application scoped POJOs. The proxy generation process generates a _PortType class which is supposed to be used by the calling client. This class defines an operation public OrderStatus putOrder(Order), but the OrderStatus and Order classes aren't the original ones but the generated ones. The issue is that these generated classes aren't completely equivalent to the original ones, for examples all lists become arrays, the constructors are different, etc. This is extrememly annouying. Is there any option to say to the proxy generation process to keep with the server-side classes ?
    many thanks in advance for any help.
    Nicolas

    The only solution to this problem seems to be using dynamic proxies. But it doesn't work neither as the following code:
    Service service = Service.create(new URL("http://localhost:7001/OrderServiceProject/OrderService?WSDL"),
    new QName("http://www.simplex_software.fr/demo/services", "OrderService"));
    OrderService orderService = service.getPort(new QName("http://www.simplex_software.fr/demo/services", "OrderServicePort"), OrderService.class);
    raises the following exception:

  • 2004S MiniSAP ABAP: SAPGUI crashes when creating a Web Service

    I have installed the NW2004S ABAP Preview System from SDN on a VMWare Image (Windows XP, 1.7 GB Mem).
    No problems during the install. Also I was able to run the sample Web Dynpro Quiz Application.
    However when try to create a Web Service the SAP GUi crashes with the Windows Error Message "dispwork.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close." Interestingly enough the "dispwork.exe" process in the MMC continues to be green and I can reconnect.
    Here are the detailed steps if you want to try to re-produce:
    1) Select Package SAPBC_IBF_SCUSTOMER
    2) Select Function Module "BAPI_FLCUST_GetList"
    3) Right mouse click and Create -> Web Service
    4) Web Service Wizard opens, type in name for Web Service (Z_...) and continue with the default settings
    5) Creat as Local Object
    Result: After about 5 minutes of compiling the SAP GUI crashes. The Web Service is not created (checked in WSADMIN)
    Any help is greatly appreciated. Will reward points for hints which lead to a resolution.

    I'm glad to see it wasn't just me having this problem. I installed the SPS8 version of the 2004s ABAP trial a couple weeks ago and immediately tried to apply SPS9 and kernel patches, etc. (with a lot of help from your blog 3930, even though some things have changed since then).
    I ran into this same problem you describe but since there had been some other problems along the way too, I decided to uninstall the whole server and start over. Uninstallation and getting a clean installation again was a mess (maybe the new cleanup utility would have helped some) but I got past that.
    The second time through, I made a lot of improvements, which I'll list here since they may help others, but still ran into this problem in the XPRA_EXECUTION phase.
    Improvements to process:
    1) Backup database first, just in case
    2) Share the c:\SAP directory as Sapmnt so that SPAM can find the packages
    3) Add at least one extra batch process, since the default installation only gives one and more are needed for the support package installation (the easy way is to increase rdisp/wp_no_btc in the NSP* profile in C:\SAP\NSP\SYS\profile)
    4) While in the profile, change ztta/cua_area = 250000 to avoid some errors logged in trace files for having that too low
    5) Also in the profile, put the slash between the directory and file name in ssf/ssfapi_lib and sec/libsapsecu
    6) Also in the profile, add "dynpro/generate_in_separate_luw = N", as per note 949737
    7) Request and install a new license key before applying the support packages.
    All of the above were changes I made after finding errors or problems and these solve the problems. Some errors also led me to upgrade MAXDB from 7.60 build 32 to 33 (pretty painless if note 735598 is followed carefully) but I'm not sure that really solved anything.
    I tried hard to debug the WEBI_AFTER_IMPORT problem and narrowed it down to when it's trying to create a transformation for a function and XSLT_MAINTENANCE is called and then inside the Activate method and the Check method it calls. I ended up not able to solve this problem but also hoping that SPS10 would do so, as per note 973675. I just removed the AFTER_IMP method for WEBI from table OBJM temporarily while letting SPAM continue.
    I too will be waiting to see if SPS10 helps or if someone comes up with a solution. Ideally, a new version of the trial could be posted which incorporates the above improvements and includes SPS9 or SPS10 so that those installing it fresh don't have to go through so many issues...

  • Any difference in creating a web service from a java class or session bean?

    Hi,
    The JDeveloper tutorial at http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1013jdev/10131/devdepandmanagingws/devdepandmanagingws.htm demonstrates creating a web service from a plain java class. I'm wondering:
    - Is it possible to create a web service from a stateless session bean instead of a java class? If so, what's the proper way to do this in JDeveloper? When I tried doing so in JDeveloper 10.1.3.0.4 (SU5) using the J2EE Web Service wizard, the wizard did not list the session bean in the Component To Publish dropdown (it does list any java classes available in the project). I can proceed by manually typing in the name of the session bean. After the wizard completes though, the @Stateless annotation that had been in my session bean class code is removed and replaced by a @WebService annotation. The end result is that it looks like it made no difference whether I had tried to create the web service from a session bean or plain java class as the annotations in the resulting web service code are the same (although if I had started from a session bean, the class for the web service still implements the Local/Remote EJB interface that the session bean originally implemented).
    - Assuming it's possible to create a web service from a stateless session bean, is there any advantage/disadvantage creating a web service from a java class vs a stateless session bean? I'm creating the web service from scratch so I also need to either build the java class or stateless session bean the web service would be based on from scratch too.
    Thanks for any ideas about this.

    Hi,
    EJB Session beans (EJB 3.0) are deployed as WebServices by annotating the class with @WebService and the methds with @WebMethod (both tags require you to add the JSR-181 library to your project (available in the JDeveloper list of libraries)). Unlike the J2E WebService, the EJB session bean service is turned into a WebService upon deployment. This means you obtain teh WSDL file after deployment
    - Assuming it's possible to create a web service from a stateless session bean, is there any advantage/disadvantage creating a web service from a java class vs a stateless session bean?
    The difference is that EJB Session bean based web services are integrated with the J2EE container, which means that they can leverage container services like transaction handling, data sources, security, JMS etc.
