Hi, I'm using the update method but I'm only able to make it work with string value, it doesn't work with bool, number, currency, date....Any thoughts???
Thanks

    Hi Swapna,
    from your screenshot it seems that you actually try to call the service in your Data Source Expression field. You should set path to the WSDL file here actually - this could be either URL to SAP or to filesystem, as Anton suggested (this could be faster). Have you created endpoint binding for your service in transaction SOAMANAGER? If yes, then simply download the corresponding WSDL with binding or copy the URL which leads to it. But also test whether you are able to retrieve the WSDL without logging into SAP (close all browser windows and then open a new one otherwise session ID from other browser windows can be reused).
    If you have to give username and password, then setup anonymous alias in transaction SICF, for example.
    Pleas, check my previous post on the same subject here: Re: BCM7 IVR : SOAP request for client identification in CRM .
    Maybe it could help.

    Dawood.

  • Secured web service for secured AM method

    Hello,
    I need to invoke method of secured Application Module (jbo.security.enforce = Must) from secured web service.
    I have a simple java class with Configuration.createRootApplicationModule ... and a web service built for this java class.
    I found I have to authentificate users twice. First time when invoking web service (this is ok) and second time when creating application module instance.
    The problem is I can get name of user logged in web service but I cannot get his password. So I cannot login to application module with the same user.
    How can I force adf business components to use user authentificated in web service to use him/her as adf bc user?

    Hi Mayank,
    Chapter 7, Custom Serialization of Java Value Types, of the Web services developer guide may be a good place to get started.

  • Issues in Web service created for updating the Sales Order

    Hi All,
    We created a Web service using the Web service tool in CRM 7.0 ( Using the Component WS_DESIGN_TOOLS )
    Web service was created for three modes such as READ, CREATE and CHANGE Modes.
    READ Web Service we tested and its working fine as we were able to see the data for an existing Sales Order in the Web Service.
    We expect that the Change Web Service will update the data of an existing Sales Order.
    Through our Web service we are passing the Order GUID ,Order ID and some Header Fields as well as Item Fields but  the in the Web Service we are getting a message that Web service executed successfully but the CRMD_ORDERADM_H Table isnot getting updated.
    What could be problem.
    Any suugestions will be highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Sijo

    Hi Gourav,
    I checked in SICF for the Webservice name created.
    this is the service path
    /default_host/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/ for the corresponding Web Service created in DEV 200 Client.
    I checked in SOAMANAGER and saw  that the  endpoitnts were zero.
    the Search Operation for Webservice have got three query fields mainly
    Object Id, Posting Date,Procees Type
    If we give Process Type
    sign - blank
    option - blank
    low - YPO ( Custom )
    High - blank we are getting 126 entries.
    and if we check for the Process Type YPO (Custom ) in CRMD_ORDERADM_H Tbale also we are getting the same no of entries.
    but only for option BT , for Posting Date issue is thr..
    Any inputs to move forward will be highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Sijo.

  • JAX-WS web service - "Cannot find dispatch method"

    I'm getting the same error response every time I send a request to my JAX-WS web service:
    <ns2:Fault xmlns:ns2="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:ns3="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope">
       <faultcode>ns2:Client</faultcode>
       <faultstring>Cannot find dispatch method for {http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope}Envelope</faultstring>
    </ns2:Fault>I've tried using JAX-WS RI 2.1.7 and 2.2 on my Tomcat server, but both return the same error response. It will return the WSDL just fine (when "?wsdl" is appended to the endpoint URL). I used "wsimport" to generate the necessary Java classes from my WSDL--it used JAX-WS RI 2.1.6 (the one included with the JDK I guess) to generate the Java source files.
    Other people online have had similar problems, but never with the SOAP element "{http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope}Envelope", always with things specific to their WSDLs like "{}reqParams" or "{http://www.telekom.at/eai/WSToCramerCSIRead}CSIRead". I set a debug breakpoint at the start of my SIB method and it doesn't even get that far.
    Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

    I posted here to benefit anybody who is looking for a solution.
    The solution is to use WebServiceContext to get ServletContext, then use ServletContext to get parameters defined in web.xml.
    @Resource private WebServiceContext m_wsCxt;
    Then in method
    SOAPMessageContext soapCxt = (SOAPMessageContext) m_wsCxt.getMessageContext();
    ServletContext servletCxt = (ServletContext) soapCxt.get(javax.xml.ws.handler.MessageContext.SERVLET_CONTEXT);
    }

  • WEB Service task excuting error "method not found"

    Hii All,

       at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTask.executeThread()".
    Please help me out..

    Hi Mangla,
    Based on my research, the issue always caused by the data type of input variable mismatch for the Web Service. For example, the input type for web service is String. The variable was of type Object but in fact it was a Decimal stored in it. Obviously SSIS
    Web Service Task will not implicitly do a .toString() call on the input variable. So the issue occurs.
    To fix this issue, please change the type of the variable. For more details, please refer to the following similar thread:
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/1073ad37-ed05-4ab4-85e3-689e1cd17a68/ssis-web-service-task-error-with-wcf-service
    Besides, SSIS cannot invoke services with spaces in the names. And we should configure the HTTP connection manager the following ways:
    Use credentials.
    Use a client certificate.
    Provide a time-out for connecting to the server and a chunk size for writing data.
    Use a proxy server.
    Reference:
    HTTP Connection Manager

  • Web Service help - ORA-30625: method dispatch on NULL SELF errors

    Hi All
    I could do with some assistance getting Web service's up & running on my application
    I've been following this guide but altering to fit in with our internal web services... the Internet police here at work have youtube blocked off so unable to test end to end using the OTN tutorial
    I've created a web service named PASSWORDGEN with the results stored in the collection PASSWORDRESULT
    On my page I've created the process that invokes the webservice PASSWORDGEN which is set to run on load - before header - seq #10
    then created the pl/sql anonymous block process which is set to run on load - before header - seq #20
    I've used the pl/sql example given in the tutorial but substituted their references to collections with my named collection .
    declare
    l_clob clob;
    l_xml xmltype;
    l_val clob;
    begin
    for c1 in (select clob001
    from apex_collections
    where collection_name = 'PASSWORDRESULT'
    ) loop
    l_clob := c1.clob001;
    exit;
    end loop;
    l_xml := xmltype.createxml(l_clob);
    l_val := dbms_xmlgen.convert(l_xml.extract('/methodResponse/params/param/value/string/text()').getclobval(),1);
    apex_collection.update_member_attribute(
    p_collection_name => 'PASSWORDRESULT',
    p_seq => '1',
    p_clob_number => '1',
    p_clob_value => l_val );
    end;
    if I try to run the page at this point I get the error ORA-30625: method dispatch on NULL SELF argument is disallowed
    what I think is happening, from what I've read up on, is that the collection is empty?
    so I'm trying to find out if the web service is not populating the collection correctly or have I made a mistake in the above syntax & trying to reference the collection incorrectly.
    Is there a way I can query the collection using TOAD?
    Edited by: Mr JD on 21-Jul-2010 08:38

    ok so found the collection but when I invoke the web service the collection record is not populated. I've tested the webservice & a result is returned but for some reason when I either run the test or run the page which invokes the web service as a page render process the collection is still not populated.....
    what I'm I missing here as the setup of the web service is pretty straight forward & testing the web service does produce a result within the test window

  • Synchronous RFC-XI-Web Service with no request method

    Hello guys,
    I'm trying to set up an RFC-XI-Web Service scneario.  But with the particularitity that the WSDL does not have a request method. It only has a very simple response method.
    How can I make this? How can XI call the Web Service, if I dont have any request method?
    Thanks for your help.
    Felipe

    Matias, after some test I think that VJ is correct.
    It is failing at the moment of delivering the message to the WS, I'm getting the followin error messages:
    com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/PLAIN; HTTP 302 Moved Temporarily
    I tested the WS with XMLspy and works correctly.
    I'm starting to believe that the best solution is to simply create a dummy request in the WS.
    It would be great if someone else test in their own and see if we get the same result.  Thanks,

  • Need JDeveloper Web Service with HTTP POST method

    Hello all,
    I am creating a Web Service from a java class using JDeveloper. The wsdl created uses a SOAP binding. When I test the web service, either through JDeveloper or by deploying to OAS, the HTTP request created uses the HTTP GET protocol. I am assuming that this would be the same for anybody doing this.
    I need to know how to change it to be an HTTP POST protocol instead.
    The reason that I need to try and use the POST method is that the xml needed by the service holds a lot of data and the http server is giving me a "URI too long" error. I have read and been told that using POST instead of GET would help this, but I can't figure out what to change to make this happen. I am not sure if I have to make a change in the generated wsdl or somewhere else. Or if it just won't work that way.
    Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    rob

  • Web Services and Powershell error: Method can not be reflected

    I'm trying to use the VSM 9.1 Web Service API with Powershell, however when I run the New-WebServiceProxy cmdlet it throws an error, the inner exception being "Method InfraAPI.KnowledgeUpdate can not be reflected.", and as such I'm unable to proceed any further with development.
    Here's the Powershell output:

    Hi Chris,
    //-- Please read the following as my personal opinion only as it's based only on my own experience using VSM API. I may be wrong of course. --//
    As far as I remember there was never a good decision to use VSM API through web service reference.
    I had met some problems when referencing VSM services directly through web even using Visual Studio some years ago. Since then I don't use this method.
    Recently I have tried to check VSM API services metadata with some soap tools and it appears that it is not completely WS-I compliant - something wrong with namespaces defining ResultSet elements as type of DataSet. Perhaps this is the reason why VSM web services does not work as expected when referencing them directly. Maybe something else...
    So the solution, workaround actually, (provided by VMware by the way) is to generate InfraAPI class and use it in your project. So far no problems with this method and we are using VSM API quite a lot.
    In any case, it could be really helpful if someone might submit this issue to Alemba to fix it permanently I guess.
    Ok, let's go back to your question about using VSM API with PowerShell. I must admit you have really challenged me. It was not so simple but really interesting.
    The only way I have made PowerShell working is this:
    1. Extract VSM API services class to a file:
    svcutil /t:code /language=c# /messageContract http://vsmhost/dev/ServiceManager.svc /out:InfraAPI.9.2.0.cs /config:InfraAPI.9.2.0.config
    2. Compile the class to dll file:
    csc /t:library /out:InfraAPI.9.2.0.dll InfraAPI.9.2.0.cs
    3. Include and use this library in your ps script like this:
    [System.Reflection.Assembly]::LoadFrom("C:\_DATA\__SM9\PowerShell\API\InfraAPI.9.2.0.dll")
    [System.Reflection.Assembly]::LoadWithPartialName(“System.ServiceModel”)
    $ws_hb = New-Object System.ServiceModel.BasicHttpBinding
    $ws_hb.Name = "BasicHttpBinding_IServiceManager"
    $ws_epa = New-Object System.ServiceModel.EndpointAddress("http://vsmhost/dev/servicemanager.svc")
    $ws = New-Object ServiceManagerClient($ws_hb,$ws_epa)
    $ws_login_in = New-Object LoginRequest("VSM_USER_NAME","VSM_USER_PASSWORD","VSM_DATABASE")
    $ws_login_out = $ws.Login($ws_login_in)
    $ws_login_out.sMessage
    if($ws_login_out.Ret.value__ -eq 0){
        "Session ID: " + $ws_login_out.sID
        $ws_logout_in = New-Object LogoutRequest($ws_login_out.sID)
        $ws.Logout($ws_logout_in).sMessage
    Shoot your questions if you have any. And could you please let me know if this is working in your environment. Tx.

  • Consuming Domino web service with JAXB encounters Method Response element

    I am able to consume a Domino R7 (Axis) web service with JAX-WS using Dispatch<SOAPMessage>. When I try using Dispatch<Object> however, JAXB throws an exception because it encounters an unexpected tag.
    The XML from the web service looks like this:
    <Envelope>
        <Body>
            <WebServiceMethodResponse>
                <WebServiceMethodReturn>
                    The meaning of life
                </WebServiceMethodReturn>
            </WebServiceMethodResponse>
        </Body>
    </Envelope>With Dispatch<SOAPMessage>, I can get to the meaning of life quickly using SOAPBody.getElementsByTagName( "WebServiceMethodReturn" ) but with Dispatch<Object>, it appears I must also create a class for the WebServiceMethodResponse element to make JAXB happy. I don't see this happening in other people's examples. Has the Return-element-within-Response-element design been eliminated in pure JAX-WS web services, or is this something that only IBM does?

    In case anyone's search leads them here, I've posted the solution at:
    *[http://www.pby.com/general.nsf/webarticles/dominowebservice01]*
    It is an exhaustive article (not "Hello World"!) that goes through several versions of the web service and client - hopefully explaining all+ pieces of the puzzle:
    ~ web service code,
    ~ WSDLs
    ~ schema
    ~ thoroughly-documented clients that do and do not use JAXB
    ~ ... that use generated artifacts
    ~ ... that customize existing POJOs
    ~ the SOAP messages generated in each direction
    ~ the necessary JAXB annotations
    ~ explanations of how the code works
    ~ explanations of how namespaces affect the code
    ~ on and on and on...
    My constant goal was to write an uncomplicated solution that uses as few artifacts (two) and annotations as possible. The end result is a small, fast JAX-WS 2.0 client that uses JAXB to invoke and consume a secured Domino 7 (1.4.2 JVM + AXIS) web service, using RPC/literal SOAP messages.

  • Web Service call to update RSS feed

    Is there any webservice method to force an iTunesU RSS feed update?

    Yes, that is the way we are currently doing it now.
    Since we are storing content locally, our faculty members can just "drag and drop" their mp3 files into the appropriate directories on a server. We are trying to eliminate the step of having a faculty member touch the feed.
    Hopefully this feature will be added soon.
    Thanks

  • Exchange Web Services & Powershell - Contact Update Issues

    Hi All,
    I am using EWS with Powershell for the first time, and although my code works, I have run across an issue I am not able to fix. I am trying to fix users' contacts that have been imported incorrectly from another mail system, which is working fine for most
    entries. However, when an email address field includes a colon (:) when I call the address using the following:
    ($contact.EmailAddresses[[Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.EmailAddressKey]::EmailAddress1].Address)
    it does not read the address. I have identified this doesn't appear to be a code issue, as when I replace the address with another, still with invalid characters, such as < and spaces, this works fine. I presume this would be a conflict with the EWS syntax
    and use of : within the syntax itself.
    I have tried finding a way to separate the "EmailAddress1" part so that the colon included within the address field doesn't affect the script but haven't found a successful way of doing this. I hope all the above makes sense. Is there anyone who
    is able to direct me to a solution so we can call the email addresses that contain the invalid colons?
    Many thanks,

    So just to clarify, if my contact has an email address value of "mailto:[email protected]" it will not be retrieved, but if it is something like "FirstName LastName <[email protected]>" it will get retrieved.

  • Java.lang.NoSuchMethodError while invoking web service method

    Hi, I have a web service which has two methods exposed as
    A and B.
    I deployed it on weblogic server (7.0 SP4) and fired teh request when I got this error:
    <env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:soapenc="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
    <env:Header/>
    <env:Body>
    <env:Fault>
    <faultcode>env:Server</faultcode>
    <faultstring/>
    <detail>
    <bea_fault:stacktrace xmlns:bea_fault="http://www.bea.com/servers/wls70/webservice/fault/1.0.0">java.lang.NoSuchMethodError
    I tried deploying the web service on another instance and there the method A was invoked but I got the same error when I tried invoking B.
    I tried it on third instance and there both the methods were successfully invoked.
    The methods A and B name start with capital letter (someone told me that method name should not start with capital letter but that does not hold good here)
    Any idea why this starnge behavior of web service?

    Hi Guys,
    I have solved the above issue by applying the PATCH 1 & PATCH 2 of the
    BPEL 10.1.2 version .
    Thanks

  • Oracle update with Web Service

    I have a windows service running on IIS5 on a 2000 box. It
    runs every two hours and pulls information from an Oracle
    9i table. I package this information into an xml Docmument
    and use the httpwebrequest to send it to web service
    running on another machine. When the windows service
    receives a successful send to the other machine it updates
    the oracle table. On the second server meanwhile the web
    service there takes the xml that was send and updates a
    SQL7 table. It records a successfull or failed update to
    the sql table and packages up the results(xml) and sends
    them back to a web service running on the first machine.
    This web service then takes the xml it recieves and
    Updates the original Oracle table with a success or
    failure. In my code I call the executenonquery and find
    that 1 row was updated in the oracle table. I close the
    connection and open a new one and pull out the field I
    updated and email that result to myself. It shows that the
    field was updated. However when I look in the Oracle table
    through TOAD, or Quest Central the Table is not updated to
    what it should be. The first update from the windows
    service worked but the second update from the web service
    does not work.
    I have used the oledb provider that comes with .net, the microsoft .net provider for Oralce and ODP.NET from Oracle. I have
    written the code in the web service to run as a
    transaction and as just a straight sql statement. I have
    written it to call a stored procedure in Oracle that will
    update the table with a commit in the stored procedure. In
    all cases my code tells me that the update was successful.
    A trace running on Oracle shows my code executing with no
    errors. Yet in all cases the Oracle table does not update.
    I have since written a second windows service that runs 15
    minutes after the first one runs and pulls values from a
    temp table and does the updates this way THIS WORKS.
    I just want to know why the web service could not update
    the table directly. I think that this might be a bug in
    either the .net environment or in Oracle. I'm sure both
    Microsoft and Oracle will blame each others products but
    it would be nice to know why this is happening.
    If any other developers run into this problem be warned I
    worked on it for three weeks and wrote my code 10 ways to
    Sunday and it would not work.
    Happy coding people.

    Let me understand this correctly. You are trying to update a column value twice. First update goes through but second does not and you don't get any error for the second update. If this is the scenario, it is not supposed to work.
    Here is the reason. A column can be updated using Dataset only if the original column value in the database has not been changed. This is to avoid the dirty writes. Since the original value has not been changed for the first update, the column value is actually updated in the database. However, for the second update, since the original column value was changed by the first update, second update does not update the column value.
