  • How to write Web Service Log to a file in Java

    Hi..
I have a requirement that I need to maintain Log file of my web service which is deployed on OC4J server.
Is there any API for this ? Or any other way to do it ?
    Regards,
    Ajay

    Hi..
    Thanks.
Instead of using Logging API, I created own class to handle Log.
But my issue is When Ever I am appending Log to already created file the following Line is also appending.
<?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?>I want this Line only one time in each log file.
What should I do for this ?

  • Web Service Logging?

In WLS 8.1 running the server with -Dweblogic.webservice.verbose=true would make it poot out the SOAP request and response messages. This doesn't seem to work anymore with WLS 9.2. Should it, or is there a new/better way to get web service stack logging of some kind? Thanks...
    Mark

    Try
    -Dweblogic.wsee.verbose=*
    Thats what I use
Also, I've set this as the value to an environment variable so anytime I
    start the server this appears
    JAVA_OPTIONS=-Dweblogic.wsee.verbose=*
    Best of luck

  • Web Services logs

    Hi,
Currently I heve been developing PL/SQL Web Service on Oracle10i (9.0.4) server using regular J2EE Web Services.
Web Services module I have created uses oracle.j2ee.ws.StatelessStoredProcRpcWebService servlet.
Everything works fine, except logging. How can I log errors (JDBC exceptions, network exceptions, etc.)?
Is there any way to write down occured errors to a log file?
    Thanks for any help.
    Marcin.

    Hello Ruban,
You need to look for SWSE logs from Siebel.
If you do not have details, you need to increase SWSE logs by referring below knowledge article:
How To Turn Up Logging on the Siebel Web Server Extension in Siebel Versions 7.x and 8.x? (Doc ID 477185.1)
    I hope it helps.

  • ODI Web Services Logging

    Hi Experts,
If we use ODI 11g web service to invoke scenario, is there any way to get the detailed session log, like, each stepLog, start/end time, etc.?
    Thanks!

    Hi Michelle,
This information should still be available in the ODI Console Operator log (and also the work repository schema, if you are going through the back door).

  • Web Service Logs

    Hi all
i am doing a web service -> XI  -> R3( RFC)  Scenario.my scenario is running,  i had to use <b> Altova XML Spy</b> for calling web service ....
now the issue is, <b>can i keep track of who has called that webservice</b>..
ex :- can i  authorize  only 5 user  to call the web service  through XML Spy...
is their any option in XI..
    Regards,
    Ashutosh

    HI
To store adapter attributes in the message header of the XI message, set the Set Adapter-Specific Message Attributes indicator.
The following attributes are added to the XI message header if the sender makes them available, and if the Variable Transport Binding indicator is set.
    Name                Technical Name
    Remote User      SRemoteUser
    Remote Host     SRemoteHost
To transfer further header fields, set the relevant indicator. You can then store the following attributes and their values in the XI message header:
    Name                     Technical Name
      Variabler Header  XHeaderName1
      Variabler Header  XHeaderName2
      Variabler Header  XHeaderName3
The names of the fields and parameters must correspond to the names of the fields and parameters that also go through the HTTP request.
The attribute namespace for the adapter is http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/SOAP.
    See the link below
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/fc/5ad93f130f9215e10000000a155106/content.htm
Also we can access the Message ID in the payload itself using the UDF.
Header info - Access of XI Message Header Information

  • How to disable default logging for workshop web services

    Hi there,
We have created a web service using WL Workshop that we want to deploy to a production server. The problem is that the destination server is not using a default log4j library for the server, but each application initiates its own library.
When we try to deploy the web service onto the production server, we are getting an error of a log4j/Appender class not found. We can solve the problem by adding any log4j library to the class path at the beginning, but that will cause compatilibity problems with existing applications.
Is there any way to disable the default web services logging? It looks like the knex library is trying to instantiate this class at deployment. Any way we can disable that option?
    Thanks

    Thanks David for your reply,
That is indeed what I am trying to do: to add all required libraries within my web-inf folder.
But it seems that the server itself expects the log4j library to be loaded when the server is initiated. It looks to me that some server-level listener for the web services is starting together with the domain and tries to access the log4j library. This library is not found because it is inside the web-inf folder of my application.
I do not see any error while starting the server. The error only appears when trying to deploy the application (ear) with the web service. It seems that I am forgetting something, but unless I include the log4j.jar in the classpath when I start the server, i will not be able to avoid the error.
Suggestions and tests are much welcome.
    thanks!

  • EDQ Log options for monitoring Web services

    Hi
We have a specific need to monitor the web service calls through EDQ (EDQ CDS integration with Siebel). Can you assist with the options to set in logging.properties which will allow us to see the web service logs without the log information crowding it out?
    Kind regards
    Craig

    Hi,
The best way to log traffic between Siebel and EDQ is to enable logging in the EDQ Siebel Connector and then examine the connector log files. You will then see requests and responses here - it is the best place as it will work across several EDQ servers if you have many in use.
See Section 4, item 3 in this document:
    Oracle&amp;reg; Enterprise Data Quality
    3.  (Optional) If detailed trace information on connector requests is required (for example, for temporary debugging purposes) add the following lines to the dnd.parms file to enable logging:
    logfile: sdq%05d.log jlogfile: jsdq%05d.log "
It is also possible to enable logging by writing data out of EDQ itself, for example to append to a text file the data sent into match by adding a writer just before the match processor and configuring an export task to a text file in append mode, but this is server specific and less easy to disable later.

    Mike

  • NullPointerException in Create J2EE Web Service Wizard

I created an EJB2.1 session bean that has a method which returns an user defined class and also throws user defined exception. I tried to use the Create J2EE Web Service and chose to use RPC/Encoded scheme.

  • Javascript web service calls fail after 10.1.5/11.0.01 updates

    * Update #2 - I've confirmed that we are seeing errors because the HTTP request is being made as a POST using 10.1.5/11.0.01 in Chrome/Firefox/Safari.  Accessing the same file in IE, the request is made using a GET.  Using Reader 9.5.0 in Chrome also uses a GET.  Can someone please explain why the HTTP request is being submitted as a POST following the 10.1.5 update?
    * Update - I have found in my web service log that it is failing with a message that the attempted POST method is not allowed. Could the Reader updates be causing this call to be made as a POST when it was previously a GET?
I am using PDFs with Reader Extensions enabled that make web service calls via javascript.  These calls have been working correctly in multiple environments for months and only began failing with the latest updates.  After the latest Reader updates, these calls fail when using Chrome, Firefox and Safari.
Internet Explorer works correctly.  Saving files locally and opening them in Reader also works correctly.  It is only running 10.1.5 or 11.0.01 in these specific browsers where this issue occurs.  10.1.4 and 11.0.0 do not experience this issue in any browsers.
I have tried disabling Enhanced Security and updating Trust Manager to allow Internet Access from PDFs.  Neither change corrected the problem.
Can someone tell me what may have changed in 10.1.5/11.0.01 that would cause these calls to start failing?
The javascript at issue looks like this:
    var serviceKeyResult.rawValue = Get(serviceKeyUrl)
The error we get is "Error: Error attempting to read from file: {URL}"

Thanks for pointing that out.  The javacript was implemented by a third party, so I was not aware that the function wasn't part of the standard APIs.  I'll get more detail on what is happening inside that method.
For now we have updated our web services to accept both a GET and a POST to avoid this issue.

  • MII 12.1.5 Web Service Action Block

Is there existing documentation on using the Web Service Action Block, specifically documenting the following Object Properties:
    WSDLBaseUrl
    Credential Alias:
I am trying to execute a Web Service Action block against a web service that uses http and basic authentication (User/Password).  the WSDL loads just fine, the UserName and Password properties exposed through the WSDL are assigned valid values in Links Configuration, but according to the web service logs, the user name 'Guest' is being passed for the UserName.  This same web service works in MII 12.1.1 Build 273.
    Thanks in advance!

    Steve,
The WSDLBaseURL property just prepends a string to the WSDL URL property so that you can abstract out the protocol, server and port values separately depending on the target system you wish to hit for the service call.
    Regards,
    Sam

    Steve,
The 500 error is what we get back from the target server.
This is probably not a bug since I don't think that MII has ever supported the SOAP-Fault node to build the response XML.

  • How to access Portal Logged in user in Web Service application

    Hi Experts,
I have created one Deployable Proxy and based on that i have created Web Based (WAR) project. to consume the proxy i have created Servlet based java file which invokes Web services. Based on this WAR project i created EAR application which deploys on J2EE server.
I am facing issue while accessing Portal Logged in user in my Servlet Class in WAR project so can  you please provide inputs for how we can access Portal Logged in user in our Servlet class? also how we can access LDAP detailes of portal Logged inuser ?
I tried to fetch the Logged in user from servlet request but i can't access it giving me null value. Following is the method details that i am using in my servlet.
    protected void doGet(HttpServletRequest request,HttpServletResponse response)throws ServletException, IOException
    IUser user = UMFactory.getAuthenticator().getLoggedInUser();
    String strName = user.getFirstName();
If I checked in LDAP values First name for logged in user is present but in my code its giving Null value.
Can you please provide your inputs on above issue.
