Webcenter custom login.jspx page

I have a custom webcenter application where I need to have a seperate login page that should authenticate and go to the home page.
So i have a template for login page and another template for the home page.The home page template contains a welcome <user> text , The requirement was very simple once we login, the user should be authenticated and see the home page
I used the login backing beans 'doLogin()' method to do the authentication but it never redirects to any page and even if it authenticates in the same page, after going to the home page , the page is still not authenticated and i need to refresh the page for the authentication to be reflected in my home page.
Which is the best way to handle this scenario? Do i need to do something specifically to handle the navigation

Hi,
it's been already discussed.follow the thread -Re: Problem creating login page in portal webapplication

    there is lot of youtube videos. just google it out.
    this is to timo:
    What do you mean by  '...I am using default adf security...'
    if i am understood correctly. while creating new fusion web apps while configuring adf-security HTTP Basic Authentication is comes as default option. he mentioning in that way.
    do You want to secure the login page itself? This doesn't make sense as you need to login to get to the login page.
    i hope he is not asking like as you mentioned.
    from my experience i will interpret like this
    "Currently I am using default adf security".
    he is currently using default adf security(HTTP Basic Authentication).
    is there any way to use same security on my login jspx page.
    he need use the same adf-security concept on custom login page.

  • What's wrong with a simple login.jspx?

    Hello,
    I wrote a simple login.jspx page by following the indications at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/web.1111/b31974/adding_security.htm#BABDEICH
    Now, the page works with Firefox 5, but does not with IE 7. When under IE 7, the page keeps reloading giving errors about *"AdfBootStrap undefined*" or *"AdfLogger undefined".*
    What is wrong? Please note that I have already read all the threads on the forum about this issue, without actually solving my problem (I have not really seen any useful solutions there to be honest).
    Jdeveloper is 11.1.1.5.0, only adf authentication is enabled.
    The error messages are like the following ones:
    http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=952977&tstart=29
    thanks.

    Changing from jspx to jsp does not solve the problem.

    Hello codeplay,
    in the source code of the page I have the following similar to your line:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="/Myapp/afr/partition/ie/default/opt/boot-11.1.1.5.0-1095.js"></script>
    No lines with SHERMAN inside.
    I could not open "/Myapp/afr/partition/ie/default/opt/boot-11.1.1.5.0-1095.js" or
    "afr/partition/ie/default/opt/boot-11.1.1.5.0-1095.js". Page not found
    Why does it happen with login page only?
    In firefox, as opposite to ie, where the page is rendered a little better (not as good as it should be though, due to these problems), I can login and be redirected to the secured main page, which is another .jsp, more complex than the simple login page, and there I have no problems at all.
    I noticed that the badly rendered page has a link pointing to the generated html below. NOTE that JavaScript IS ENABLED in my IE despite what this html says at the end. I checked this twice:

  • Problem with using Request dispatcher in my login,jspx

    Hi
    I am using Jdev 11g and new to adf.
    I am trying to work with adf security.
    I designed a login.jspx page and loginproxy.jspx accoridng to the following link
    http://groundside.com/blog/DuncanMills.php?title=j2ee_security_a_jsf_based_login_form&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
    I have added this code in login.java
         ExternalContext ectx =    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext();
         HttpServletRequest request =    (HttpServletRequest)ectx.getRequest();
         HttpServletResponse response =    (HttpServletResponse)ectx.getResponse();
         RequestDispatcher dispatcher =   request.getRequestDispatcher("loginnew.jspx");
    RequestDispatcher dispatcher =   request.getRequestDispatcher("j_security_check");
        request.setAttribute("j_username", username);
        request.setAttribute("j_password", password);
         dispatcher.forward(request,response);
    When it tries to execute dispatch statement, it goes in an infinite loop and finally gets me a stack overflow error and also in the cosole it prints series of exceptions like
    ActionListenerImpl><processAction> javax.servlet.ServletException: javax.servlet.ServletException: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class oracle.adf.controller.ControllerException
    javax.faces.el.EvaluationException: javax.servlet.ServletException: javax.servlet.ServletException: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class oracle.adf.controller.ControllerExceptionI have to validate the user against database hence i created a login.jspx with a backing bean so that i can access the username and password and validate the credentials against db and redirect user to the appropriate page.
    The functionality i want to implement is very simple but i just cant get it to work using adf security.
    any help is highly appreciated.
    thanks

    Hi Pedja,
    Thanks for the prompt reply.
    I have been following the link you mentioned to create ADF security and successfully implementedthe first part where if i directly give any internal page url it redirects me back to login page.
    Instead of using weblogic-sql authenticator, i wanted to manually authenticate the user in loginbean.java where i check the username passowrd against the db.
    I had also implemented the method to access username,password mentioned in the following thread
    Re: ADF security on my jspx  page as login page
    Insted of using authentication.login, i am calling the db method to do the validation.
    The thing is after my db validation it does redirect me to the success page(menu.jspx). but when i click links on menu.jspx it redirects me back to login page.
    so i understand that user is not yet set in the session.
    I am stuck at the point how do i code the login.jspx, currently my login.jspx does not have any j_security_check and i think this is what is creating the problem.
    while searching for adding jsecurity in jspx i landed on the blog of 2006 and started using that.
    Can you please point me to some link which explains how to code login.jspx , i have been trying hard for couple of days.
    Thanks again

  • Embedded Java Applet NullPointerException in JSPX pages

    We have a ADF web application programmed in JDeveloper 11g (11.1.2.4.0), which was migrated over from a 10g (10.1.3.5.0) project
    Within the application, occasionally, we need to call a Java Applet which is placed in a public_html/applet folder. The jars show up in the Web-Content tab of the ViewController in the Application Navigator, just like it did in 10g.
    The applet tag looks like this:
    <applet height="100" width="100" code="applet.SetupApplet" archive="applet/SSetupApplet.jar">
                <param name="debug" value="true"/>
    </applet>
    I've also tried calling the applet with the Java deploy applet script
    <trh:script source="http://java.com/js/deployJava.js"></trh:script>
        <trh:script>
            var attributes = {code:'applet.SetupApplet',
            archive:'applet/SSetupApplet.jar'};
            var parameters = {} ;
            var version = '1.6' ;
            deployJava.runApplet(attributes, parameters, version);
       </trh:script>
    When I navigate to the login.jspx page that has this tag, it pops the Java Console open, but doesn't actually run the applet (or show the prompts to allow using the Applet). Instead, the applet is shown with an error and the error says "NullPointerException". I've double-checked the path and it's correct (with incorrect paths, I get a ClassNotFoundException). In the application server logs, I see the following error:
    <Warning> <Socket> <BEA-000449> <Closing socket as no data read from it on IPADDRESS during the configured idle timeout of 5 secs>
    I created a normal .jsp file that's outside the ADF Faces Context in the applet folder. Navigating to it with the same applet tags does have the Java applet run without the socket error. The same code in 10g works fine.
    Is there anything I'm missing?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    this is how I did it in 11g R1: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/71-adf-to-applet-communication-307672.pdf

  • How to create different login form pages using Extranetlook

    Hi,
    I would like to have different login pages in order to let users access to different sites created with Site Studio. The Extranetlook component comes with a default one, login_page.htm but if I change this file, then this login page is used for all users in the whole Content Server. Our requirement is to have different login pages, one per each site, and let the default one to let users access just the Content Server, not the sites.
    We created a custom login form page copying the login_page.htm file and then modified the redirecturl input field (<input value="/oursite/" type="hidden" name="redirecturl" />). This only works when the login is successful. When the login is incorrect the user is redirected to the default login_page.htm. In that case, we would like to redirect the user to custom login form instead of the default one.
    In fact, I'm afraid I don't understand well the relation between the login_page.htm within the component, the login_page.htm file that resides in <ucm-installation>/data/users and the extranetlook.idoc file.
    Thanks in advance.

    While not resolving issue with multisite login page, i can tell the relationship among component login_page, data user login_page and ExtranetLook.idoc.
    So according to component readme.txt ExtranetLook.idoc is used to construct user data login_page (i've checked it). So any customizations made to its dynamic html sections are reflected into that file - and it is the which being showed in browser. The component one is used as initial one.

    Customization usually is a challenge for developers. You can change look & feel and modify information showed.

  • Did any body try to change 10g SSO  login page to custom login page?

    Hi..
    Did any body try to change Oracle 10g SSO login page with custom login Page as we used to do in 902 and 1022 versions by changing wwsso_ls_configuration_info_t table entries?
    It seems that there is now other file policy.properties that has entry for login page.
    Is there any documentation provided by Oracle on this?
    I checked metalink and SSO admin guide?
    Any clue or glue....??
    Thanks
    Sarvesh

    Try 1 & 2 if does not work please file a daycare for further assistance.
    1.   In "Day CQ Login Selector Authentication Handler" for path info add an empty row then verify.
    2.   Delete the existing entry for "Day CQ Login Selector Authentication Handler" , Configure your custom at repository level & verify

  • 10g904 - custom login pages & development method of applics for SSO

    i am getting baffled with these custom login pages and their connection with the SSO.

    Oracle® SSO Developers Guide for version 306
    what baffles me is how custom login pages are to be defined for the 10g versions of AS.
    in 10g (904) version, applications for SSO can be protected using mod_osso, and may be developed using mod_osso or using SSO-SDK which is deprecated from this version.
    1. this means that if we do not have to use SSO-SDK (which is deprecated in 904 version) and where we need to protect applications using the mod_osso, then why do we need to use the custom pages.
    2. how do the custom-defined deployment specific login pages or change-password pages work?
    3. what is the role of SSO for partner applications if we do not configure it specifically.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to set different login pages for different web applications.
    Please check whether you choose the zone that you want to configure and enter the Sign In Page URL correctly.

  • How can i use my custom login page in a custom partner application ?

    Dear All,
    I'm trying to customize a login page displayed other than the default sso login page
    by submiting my form to the regular pl/sql procedure : "PORTAL.wwptl_login.login_url"
    but i tried to type the requested partner application url in the browser i got the sso
    login page other than my custom login page. So, How can i use my custom login page in a custom partner application ?
    Regards,
    Mohammed Amin
    [email protected]

    I cannot begin to express my level of frustration. I have been trying to use the composition widget light box display for some time now. I drag the widget to my document. The default widget has three small trigger boxes and a large area made up of a forward and backward button, a background, a text box and a frame for your image.
    My steps have been …
    I click on the little trigger box.
    I click on the frame that holds the main image.
    I go to the fill menu and browse my computer for my image and then click OK.
    IT shows up on my screen. Yay
    I attempt to continue using the next two trigger boxes provided in the widget.
    After that, I add more by clicking on the little plus sign.
    This is where all heck breaks loose.
    Every single time I attempt to add thumbnails, something messes up. When I go to preview, either not all of my main images show up, or it starts with the wrong one, or some are missing. I have looked and looked for help on this and the only thing I can find is how easy it is to create a great portfolio lightbox display.  But as we know, that only works when your thumbnails are the same image as the images in your lightbox. If you want something different, you have to use the composition wizard. I am finding it extremely difficult and confusing to customize.
    Is there an exact sequence you need to use to add images to the slideshow? I am my wits end.

  • Jdev 10.1.3.1 "ADF Security": Application without a custom login page?

    Hi,
    We are trying to develop an application using "ADF security", which means we can give permissions to certain roles based on "Binding Container", "Iterator Binding", "Method Action Binding" and "Attribute-level Binding".
    After reading the document -- "Oracle® Containers for J2EE Security Guide 10g (10.1.3.1.0) B28957-01" that Frank pointed out. We have a question:
    Can we develop an ADF application without creating a custom login page? Right now we've followed the security guide and modified the configuration files. But when we run the application, we get the "user null" error message. The reason is clear because we do not have a login page. On the security guide, it says that it is possible to use the oracle default login module. But it does not say how. Does anyone have any idea?
    Thanks,
    Annie

    Brenden,
    Thank you so much for the reply. This is our code in the web.xml:
    <login-config>
    <auth-method>BASIC</auth-method>
    <realm-name>default</realm-name>
    </login-config>
    We are using HTTP basic Authentication. This technique worked for the container-managed security. The browser default login page pops up when the end users try to log into a secured JSP. But here we want to use "ADF security" to set up "Iterator binding" and "Attribute level binding" security. The browser default login page does NOT show up. Instead we get the "user null" error message.
    If you have detailed step on how to select HTTP Basic Authentication, it would be very helpful to us. Or if you know any document has the detail.
    regards,
    Annie

  • Using a custom login page for the portal

    Hi all,
    I'm currently doing a migration from Plumtree 4.5WS to Plumtree 5.0.4. In the current 4.5WS portal, I'm catering to 3 different login mechanisms due to time-lags in migration of my users' workstations. The 3 mechanisms are:
    1) Smart Card Reader on Windows 95 using TLS (uses a client side ActiveX)
    2) Smart Card Reader on Windows XP using SSL (uses client side ActiveX)
    3) Java PKI Card on Windows XP using SSL (uses server side scripting)
    To cater to the above, we've made customisations to login.asp and dologin.asp and also added a few scripts of our own.
    I now need to migrate these over to Plumtree 5.0 as well. I've thought of 2 ways to do this:
    1) Doing a custom view replacement of the Login View. This however has limitations as I'm not sure how the codes for the above 3 mechanisms will come in, especially 3), which involves server side scripting.
    2) Creating a custom login and exit page. This is probably a much more feasible solution in my case as it allows me to freely create my login pages and exit pages accordingly to cater for the above. However to do this, I need to be able to customize the Log In and Log Off links on the Portal Banner in order to point these to my own login and exit pages.
    Any ideas what is the best (or correct) way to do this?
    Thanks!

    AFAIK only one login.jsp is called.
    But you can include logic into that one JSP file.
    If referer = portal.company.com THEN
    else
    This way you can create different look and feel for different virtual hosts.
    Login portlets have the disadvantage that https is not supported
