WebCenter Spaces – Blogs & Wiki login prompt

Hi All,
I have implemented a dev environment for WCS (patch set 2) and have set up the blog and wiki integration via the enterprise manager using the enterprise manager and generating a security map / key for the WebLogic domain and then
mapping this keys password into the service configuration as described here http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/webcenter.1111/e12405/wcadm_wiki.htm#CIADBCHD in sections 19.2.2.14 and 19.3.1
Farm_base_dmain/weblogic domain/base_domain
Right click - security / credentials
Create map – owc_wiki
Create key – wsPasscode, type Password, User Name – weblogic, Password – abc123
Farm_base_domain/WebCenter/ WebCenter Spaces/webcenter
Right click – settings/service configuration
Select wiki & blog server
Add – boot_wiki, active, server url - http://wcs-demo:8890/owc_wiki, Passcode - abc123
When I access a blog or wiki page in a group space it prompts me for a username and password. I am assuming this behaviour isn’t correct and a user name / password should be passed to the blog and wiki server.
Do I have to do any additional setup or add page variables to do this?
Cheers
Bob

Hello,
I have done the same thing as bob has done .I have created the key and registered the wiki blog server connection via em and referred to web center admin guide. But how to get the wiki page on my web center spaces . When i click on create a page and then to add content but i dont have any options there to select wiki/blog.I have done the same thing to create a discussion settings in which we can select discussion option in add content part BUT wiki/blog is not available.
Please suggest!!!!

  • User Login Count Report and User Contribution Reports in Webcenter Spaces

    Hello All,
    We are using Webcenter 11.1.1.4 and we have integrated with Active Directory and we are also able to login to webcenter Spaces using AD users.
    Now as an Administrator We want to generate a report specifying how many times a particular user has logged-in for a specified period of time.
    We have also integrated UCM with webcenter and Our 2nd requirement is how to generate a report specifying how many documents a particular user has contributed or accessed within a specific interval of time.
    How to generate such reports. Please help.
    Thanks

    Thanks for the reply Yannick.
    We have install/configure WebCenter analytics and activity graph.
    Wehave added Login Metrics in our Group Space and we are getting default login count for specific time frame but when we define a filter under User Property of any property like city, department name, phone title etc after refreshing data it is giving error like
    WCS#2011.03.31.12.47.31 : Irresolvable error(s) occurred. You may want to contact Administrator with the error reference.
    Please help how to solve this.

  • Content not displayed on webcenter spaces page tiIl I login to UCM server.

    Hi Yannick,
    I have created an html file which loads the flash file and checked in to the UCM server. I have added a content presenter on the page runtime and selected the html file as the content.
    Now when I load the page, I couldnot see the content. The content gets displayed on the page once I login to the UCM server and refresh the webcenter page.
    Please suggest the solution. I am working with Avitek Demo VM. I have stored the file in the public_images folder.
    Thanks,
    SK

    You need to assign application (spaces) role "Administrator" to your user for Admin link to see (by default weblogic user is assigned to this role)
    To add it
    Login to Fusion Middleware Control -> WebCenter -> WebCenter Spaces -> Right Click on WebCenter -> Security -> Application Role
    Add your user to role “Administrator”

  • Lack of hard drive space overnight and oddity at login prompt.

    I have recently seen something weird on my iMac. At the login prompt my computer reads: "My Computer (2)" it never did previously. Then when I checked my hard drive space it was at 110 GB available, it now is 50 GB available. What is this issue? Is the whole hard drive copied or something weird. It is also very slow with Adobe CS4 and this was never an issue.

    HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
    Boot from your Mac install disc and run Disk Utility in case the startup disk needs repairs.
    Insert your install disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
    Go to Installer menu and launch Disk Utility.
    Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
    Select First Aid in the Main panel.
    *(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)*
    Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
    If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
    If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
    When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
    Select your start up disk and click Restart
    While you have the Disk Utility window open, look at the bottom of the window. Where you see Capacity and Available. *Make sure there is always 10% to 15% free disk space*
    If you cannot boot from your install disc, try booting in Safe Mode

  • Doing Login to WebCenter Spaces after Fresh Install Hangs [ID 976907.1]

    hi
    i have an issue with webcenter spaces ,i searched oracle documentation and found a description and a solution but it is still not working .
    i have oracle webcenter 11.1.1.5 ,installed on oracle Linux Enterprise 5.5 ,installation is made with 3 physical nodes joined to one domain as described on oracle documentation (ID
    the solution is described on document [ID 976907.1]
    Applies to:
    Oracle WebCenter - Version: 11.1.1.1.0 to 11.1.1.5.0 - Release: 11g to 11g
    Information in this document applies to any platform.
    Symptoms
    On : WebCenter Spaces.
    When attempting to login to WebCenter Spaces, the login hangs.
    The WebCenter Spaces diagnostic log (WLS_Spaces_diagnostic.log) shows the following error at the time of login:
    [2009-12-07T10:59:04.645-08:00] [WLS_Spaces] [ERROR] [] [oracle.webcenter.webcenterapp.internal.view.webapp] [tid: [ACTIVE].ExecuteThread: '2' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'] [userId: weblogic] [ecid: 0000ILeW_Ss2bMK5qVh8iY1B7KwH00000F,0] [APP: webcenter] [[
    oracle.adf.share.security.ADFSecurityRuntimeException: The URL typed by current user is not accessible, so redirecting to the unAuthorized page
    at oracle.webcenter.webcenterapp.internal.view.security.WCAuthorizationHandler.handleAuthorizationFailure
    (WCAuthorizationHandler.java:62)
    STEPS
    The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
    1.     Install of WebCenter.
    2.     Start the Node Manager and Managed Servers.
    3.     Access WebCenter Spaces URL:
    http://server:8888/webcenter/spaces
    4.     Attempt to login as weblogic user.
    Here the login hangs.
    Cause
    The domain system-jazn-data.xml file is missing all the security information for WebCenter.
    The file should have entries like this:
    <policy-store>
    <applications>
    <application>
    <name>webcenter</name>
    <app-roles>
    <app-role>
    <name>s8bba98ff_4cbb_40b8_beee_296c916a23ed#-#Administrator</name>
    <guid>A03A67D1E43711DEBF8B15EA0015534D</guid>
    <class>oracle.security.jps.service.policystore.ApplicationRole</class>
    <members>
    <member>
    <class>weblogic.security.principal.WLSUserImpl</class>
    <name>weblogic</name>
    </member>
    </members>
    But in this case the file is missing the security entries for WebCenter like the above.
    Reviewing more entries in the WebCenter Spaces diagnostic log (WLS_Spaces_diagnostic.log) there was another error in the log that indicated file permission errors:
    [2009-12-07T10:53:15.966-08:00] [WLS_Spaces] [WARNING] [JPS-04085] [oracle.jps.deployment] [tid: [ACTIVE].ExecuteThread: '0' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'] [ecid: 0000ILeVDiF2bMK5qVh8iY1B7KwH000000,0] [APP: webcenter] [arg: oracle.security.jps.JpsRuntimeException: java.io.FileNotFoundException: /tmp/jazn-data-577128801xml.lck (Permission denied)] Migration of codebase policy failed. Reason: oracle.security.jps.JpsRuntimeException: java.io.FileNotFoundException: /tmp/jazn-data-577128801xml.lck (Permission denied).
    While checking the permissions on the /tmp/jazn-data-577128801xml.lck file it was noted that it was owned by root user and oracle user did not have permissions on the file.
    Solution
    1.     Shutdown the Node Manager and Managed Servers.
    2.     Change the ownership of the temporary file in /tmp directory to be owned by the user that was used to install WebCenter and that is being used to start WebCenter:
    In this case the file name is: /tmp/jazn-data-577128801xml.lck
    But in your system the name can be different. But the name should be like:
    /tmp/jazn-data-NNNNNNNNNxml.lck
    3.     Ensure the user that was used to install WebCenter has privileges to read, write, and update the above file.
    If needed give grants on the file to the user that was used to install WebCenter.
    4.     Restart WebCenter.
    5.     Re-Test the issue.
    the problem is that i applied the solution but it is not working with me .if i grant (oracle) user which is used to install webcenter a privilege on /tmp/ folder,after restart everything become a in a big mass , that's because there is some files which belongs to root and mustn't be granted to oracle (this is as i understand maybe its wrong) .and if i grant and it is already granted full permission to (oracle) user on the file (jazn-data-NNNNNNNNNxml.lck) it is still not working and XML files is zero size .i do this on webcenter server (host2) and also on soa server (host1) which have admin server .
    is there any advise ? am i missing something ? it is really a big problem to me as we suppose to go live next week !!!

    Joel, in a different posting was able to help me out.
    Below is the steps I used to create a new admin account to by pass the one that seemed to be bad. Everything seems to be working for me now. Thanks for your help.
    alter user FLOWS_020200 account unlock;
    connect FLOWS_020200/apex
    begin
    wwv_flow_api.set_security_group_id(p_security_group_id=>10);
    wwv_flow_fnd_user_api.create_fnd_user(
    p_user_name => 'admin2',
    p_email_address => '[email protected]',
    p_web_password => 'admin2') ;
    end;
    alter user FLOWS_020200 account unlock;
    Thanks,
    Jason

  • Customising a Login page for Webcenter spaces

    Hi,
    I'm trying to add in a "Remember Me" function to Webcenter Spaces (out of the box), and I'm wonding how this can be done. I'd like to check if its possible to create a custom page/portlet or modify the existing page for this to be done.

    Based on what mechanism you want to use for implementing "remember me" functionality, you also may consider utilizing the ability to 'edit the login page' (not the one that has a login portlet) by logging in as a webcenter administration into spaces application and going to 'webcenter administration'>general>edit login page (in the bottom)
    thanks

  • Managing the mail service for WebCenter Spaces

    I need to setup the mail service in WebCenter Spaces and could use some assistance. I have a standalone Linux DEV box that has WebCenter 11.1.1.2 installed. I have Documents, Discussions, wikis+blogs all working in this instance.
    Now, I need to configure the mail service for this DEV instance to an SMTP mail server but I don't have any experience with this part. Has anyone setup the mail service using the Linux sendmail or Exchange 2003? How did you setup the external application for the mail server if you want to use Sendmail? Any help is appreciated.

    Hi Everybody
    I am also having similar problems. I could configure everything except for the mail service.
    I have the SMTP port but do not have IMAP details as our IT team does not maintain the IMAP.
    Please let me know how can I configure mail service with the SMTP details only.
    Your timely help would be much appreciated as we are in between a project development.

    I have deployed with jdeveloper directly to webcenter by using a connection and deployed as shared library.
    Afther that i used DesignWebcenterSpaces and deployed with ant scripts: clean stage  and deploy as shared lib
    I get an error on deployment:

  • How to display applications in tabs on a single page in webcenter spaces

    Hi,
    I am working on a project in Webcenter spaces where we have a welcome page with few hyperlinks on a bar in the top section .Each hyperlink is associated with an application url. The requirement is when a user clicks on any link, it should populate a tab in the page displaying the application.
    For ex, if we have the links on the top as "google", "yahoo", "bing", etc, clicking on each one of them, should open tabs below displaying the respective home page. It should not open the application in a new browser but a tab in the same page. Also, the tabs are just page fragments (.jsff). As user clicks more links, more tabs are opened ( if that application is already not open).
    In short, we are replacing opening of a new browser to opening a tab in the same browser ( when clicking an application link).
    The issue is - how do I get the content of a website (or an application) into a tab in webcenter spaces dynamically. We tried using Pagelet producer but they need to be predefined. Also, each application url need to contain the session cookie, so user need not login to the application again.
    Any alternate strategy to acheive the same result is also welcome.

    Not 100%. Although, I did find out that I can use an Inline Frame layout component which can take a url as one of its property. Thus, I can dynamically pass this property and make the layout render the application. Beyond this, the control will be transferred to application and I hope it will work. We are still in the process of playing with the components.

  • Create a new space in webcenter space, no document option

    when I create a new space according to User Guide for WebCenter Space
    Step 1: Create a Space
    ■ Step 2: Add the Logo to the El Piju Space
    ■ Step 3: Make the Documents Page Available
    ■ Step 4: Upload the Banner Image
    ■ Step 5: Create Subspaces
    ■ Step 6: Add the El Piju Logo to the Subspace
    in step3 , I can not see the checkbox for Document, how to solve this issue, any help will be appreciated greatly!
    Assuming the Documents service is enabled for your WebCenter installation, you c
    make it available to your Space. By default, the Documents page is not shown, so le
    do that now. Once the page is available, you can upload content in the form of
    documents, folders, and wiki pages. You can also share this content with users who
    authorized to view and/or edit content in your Space.
    To make the Documents system page available to the El Piju Space:
    1. While in El Piju - Settings, click the Pages tab.
    2. Under Available Pages, select the Show Page checkbox for Documents.Figure 3–6 Documents - Show Page

  • Deploy a custom taskflow to WebCenter Spaces

    Hi All,
    Weblogic Server: 10.3.5
    JDeveloper: 11.1.1.6
    OS: Windows 7
    I'm current trying to upload a custom ADF taskflow that i've created in JDeveloper to Oracle WebCenter Spaces. I have followed the Oracle Support Note Doc ID 1362187.1 (How to Create a Task Flow in JDeveloper and Deploy to WebCenter Spaces), it was extremley helpful but having issues extending Spaces, which includes my customer taskflow which is deployed as a library.
    Oracle WebCenter Spaces is up and running
    1) Initially that the Ant Scripts supplied does not complete successfully in particular the "Clean-Stage" and "Deployed-Shared-Library".
         Clean-Stage is now at a stage where it failed with the following error message:
    BUILD FAILED*
    C:\jdev\Sandpit11.1.1.6\mywork\DesignWebCenterSpaces\WebCenterSpacesExtensionLibrary\internal-targets.xml:77: if doesn't support the nested "isgreaterthan" element.*
    I believe it has something to do with the version of ant-contrib but can't quite get it to work. Other various blogs and posts talk about AntContrib requires version 1.5 or above, I believe jdeveloper is using 1.7.1. I'm also currently using ant-contrib-1.0b3. I've also tried using ant-contrib-1.0b2 but that doesn't work either.. So how is this Ant Script meant to work if the error message is that the IF statement doesn't support nested "isgreaterthan"?
    2) deploy-shared-lib Ant Script
    This is was major headache and still doesn't work properly. I'm current at the error message below
    No stack trace available.*
    *+[exec] Current Status of your Deployment:+*
    *+[exec] Deployment command type: deploy+*
    *+[exec] Deployment State : failed+*
    *+[exec] Deployment Message : weblogic.deploy.api.spi.exceptions.ServerConnectionException: [J2EE Deployment SPI:260041]Unable to upload 'C:\jdev\Sandpit11.1.1.6\mywork\DesignWebCenterSpaces\WebCenterSpacesExtensionLibrary\exploded\extend.spaces.webapp.war' to 't3://wcaptst01:7001'+*
    3) I kinda gave up using the Ant Scripts cleaning deploying autmatically, so i decided to create a deployment profile and deploy it the usual way. I can deploy the new shared library to the Weblogic server ok and it can see it as per Oracle Support Note DOC ID 1362187.1 but the issue arises when i try to restart the Spaces Managed Server in the Enterprize Manager... the container starts up the Spaces application will not load causing an error:
    +Caused By: weblogic.management.DeploymentException: Error: Unresolved Webapp Library references for "ServletContext@424697505[app:webcenter module:/wcsdocs path:/wcsdocs spec-version:2.5 version:11.1.1.4.0]", defined in weblogic.xml [Extension-Name: MotoringBookServiceTaskFlowLib, exact-match: false]+*
    When i log into the Weblogic Server Console, i can see the *MotoringBookServiceTaskFlowLib* as a "Type" of Library..
    Any assitance with any of the points above would be most appreciated!

    Have you created the datasource on your weblogic server? The error means that you do not have created the datasource on your server.
    based upon the name, it is the default JDev creates. Best what you can do is create a jndi name yourself and then edit the datacontrol so it will use the jndi name.
    In order to create a jndi in weblogic, go to your console:
    http://localhost:7001/console (this is for my local machine)
    From the left menu you can find the data source in "Services" => JDBC => Data sources
    Create a new one and give it a JNDI name for example "jdbc/TSTDS"
    Make sure you also set the target of the data source. If you aren't using the latest version you have to edit your datasource after creation and select the target tab and select which server you want to use the datasource on. If you are using the latest version you will be asked to select the target.
    You than have to edit the configuration of your datacontrols so they are using that source.
    Make sure you select "JDBC DataSource" and not "JDBC URL". The datasource name must be the one you entered in the JNDI field. Exactly the same, it is case sensitive.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to create a portlet in Jdeveloper and consume it in webcenter spaces

    Hello all,
    I need to create a portlet in which i will be passing the parameterized url and it will go on hit the third party application.After doing that i have to consume it in webcenter spaces where user can directly add that porlet and can do all his work of third party from webcenter spaces itself.
    Can anyone tell me how to make portlets and what all we need in Jdeveloper for creating the portlet.As well as i need some reference guide which let me help to create the portlets as well as consuming in webcenter spaces.
    Please Help !!!
    Thanks...

    Are you trying to expose an existing system inside of WCS?
    If this is the case, you should investigate "External Applications":
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/webcenter.1111/e10149/config_svcs_prod_extapp.htm#WCSUG6698
    This is an out of the box way of embedding external systems, with seperate login pages etc. I think this will achieve what you are trying to do yourself. It even allows for parameterised URLs

    "Given the context root folder as /mywebcenter"
    The context root you are talking about, is this the parameter in the UCM connection for Web Server Context Root ? If so, this isn't correct. This field should contain the context root of UCM, not webcenter.
    I made a blog post on how to properly create a connection to UCM from the EM. http://www.yonaweb.be/enable_ucm_check_in_profiles_webcenter_ps3_0
    If you don't use the check in profiles and just read the part on Create a connection in the Enterprise Manager.
    Hope this helps.

  • Avoid Database Login prompt when using CrystalReportViewer

    Is there a way to keep the Database Login prompt from coming up when using Crystal Reports runtime 2008 SP2? I'm using that plus Visual Studio 2008 to develop a Windows Form application to view reports on a client machine that accesses data on a seperate SQL Server 2005 machine. My customer would like to avoid having users manually enter anything everytime a report is opened with the Crystal Reports viewer.
    I've used the following code with ODBC and OLE DB report connections. When I use ODBC, the prompt comes up with Integrated Security checked which must be cleared. When I use OLE DB, the prompt comes up with Database Name blank and greyed out so I cannot manually enter it.
    Am I missing something here?
    Imports CrystalDecisions.Shared
    Imports CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine
    Imports CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms
    Public Class Form1
        Private Sub setDatabaseLogon(ByVal myConnectionInfo As ConnectionInfo)
            Dim logOnInfos As TableLogOnInfos = CrystalReportViewer1.LogOnInfo
            For Each logOnInfo As TableLogOnInfo In logOnInfos
                logOnInfo.ConnectionInfo = myConnectionInfo
            Nex
        End Sub
        Private Sub ConfigureCrystalReports()
            Dim myConnectionInfo As ConnectionInfo = New ConnectionInfo()
            setDatabaseLogon(myConnectionInfo)
            myConnectionInfo.DatabaseName = "ClearView"
            myConnectionInfo.UserID = "reports"
            myConnectionInfo.Password = "dstreports"
            myConnectionInfo.IntegratedSecurity = False
        End Sub
        Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
            ConfigureCrystalReports()
        End Sub
    End Class

    Thanks Jonathan for the tip. I tried it before and after the setDatabaseLogin call yesterday, but got the same results. I'm still going to follow your suggestion because that makes more sense.
    Turns out it was the configuration of my ODBC/System DSN that was causing the problem. I reconfigured the System DSN by clearing the check box to provide username/password and now I don't get the Database Login anymore.
    I found a different blog post that answered the OLE DB issue I was seeing where the DatabaseName was coming up blank:
    Login Error Database at Runtime
    Haven't tried it yet and probably won't because I got the Viewer to work with ODBC the way I like it.
    Thanks for the help!
