Webdynpro debugging in ce 7.1 sp5

Hi,
When i tried to debug a webdynpro in ce 7.1 sp5 its asking "please enter the credentials of SAP system administrator (<SID>adm)
when i gave administrator and password of administrator is not taking it, <SID>adm user is not created when i installed ce 7.1, do i need to create this user and what should be the roles given to this user. My SID is CE1. so i created ce1adm and gave administrator role and tried it didnt accepted this also. please provide some inputs.

While starting the mmc i give OS user id and password, i tried with that too, but didn't solved the problem.

does anybody know how to debug webdynpro? we are working with SRM and MDM, but as there is a bug in webdynpro, we need to find the root cause and remove it.

The pricing issue is following:
We are using integrated (internal) catalogs, so the Purchasor uploads catalogs via MDM Import Manager. I have already raised another question which relates to MDM upload problem, but so far there is no satisfiable answer. Please see my question: SRM MDM Import Manager - price upload.
To summarize: once the Purchasor uploads new prices (valid for 2009), we see in our integrated catalog two prices (the old and the new one). When we choose the new one, the old price is transferred to SC. Basically, we think that it is a webdynpro bug, but do not know how to remove it. We contacted SAP via message as well, but they replied following: This issue is an enhancement request as the #Filter# option on the
qualified display is not saved as part of the Saved Name search. It is
working the same way in Data Manager, but the default view includes the
filter checked and therefore it seems to worked differently.
The standard SRM-MDM Catalog uses namedsearch just for search but not
for filtering any values (price etc).
This is not acceptable for us, as we think the problem is somewhere else but we are unable to find the root cause. If you have any hints or tips, please share. Thank you very much.

Hope your WAS server is running in debug mode
Click on Run->Debug Dialog
Under the node Remote Java application
Right click select new
specify your debug port and server name add the Dc to the source.
Once this done, put the break point
Launch your debugger

Large PDF file size in Webdynpro JAVA

Hi All
I have imported a PDF in Webdynpro JAVA using InteractiveForm UI element. During application execution the size of the PDF seems drastically increased and the application performance is very poor.
If I make the PDF form as readonly then the size seems normal.
Any suggestions on the size increase issue with interactive PDF forms in Webdynpro JAVA.

When I make enabled property to false in the UI element, then the size is less than 300KB
This is ok, it works this way.
I think some additions are happening at runtime to the PDF and the size is increasing.
Open the file in WD and save it immediately. Work with the form and save it again. Compare.
I am using lifecycle designer 7.1 for developments.
If you can, upgrade to 8.1, you´re efficiency will improve significantly. And of course.. your user experience will change;))

NetWeaver Develop Studio debug problem

Hi all.
I am new to using NetWeaver Develop Studio. My team have 4 persons, so we use one remote WAS server as debug and running server.
I always use webdynpro debug method to debug the webdynpro application. But sometimes when I start the debug, it always returns me ' cannot connect to remote vm '. Sometimes I have to restart the remote server to solve this problem.
My question is
1. Whats can be the reason for this ' cannot connect to remote vm' ? How to solve it forever.
2. Is there any easy way to debug ? Because for remote server, my System.out.println() cannot works.
I just want to see whether some if {} else {} code have reach .

For starting ur debugging session on just follow this steps:
1)Go to j2ee engine tab-->Right-click the server node and then choose the appropriate function from the context menu.
<b>Enable debugging of process</b> in a Single Server Configuration.
2)Insert a break point in ur code where u want to c the result.
3)go to the debug menu>give a new webdynpro configuration>and give the name of the appln.
4)give debug to start debugging.this automatically switches to ur debug perspective.
5)There u can c the expected outcome.

Debugging is not working in R/3 from WebDynpro-ABAP developed webpage input

Dear Friends,
We are facing a serious problem for debugging. Expecting valuable input for the same.
Debugging is not working in R/3 from WebDynpro-ABAP developed webpage input in Production Server.
The debugging (for WebDynpro-ABAP application) is working in Dev. Server for
1st ] Within R/3
Ex. debug for bapi within R/3. i.e. value enter as input in R/3 only.
2nd ] From webpage to R/3
Ex. Some input given on the internet web page developed through WebDynpro and external breakpoint set in R/3 it works. It directs to R/3 code through debugging.
In Prod. Server the 1st case above is working but the 2nd case is not working.
In Prod. Server the WebDynpro developed applications are running successfully through internet explorer webpage inputs. So running the application is not a problem in prod. Server but debugging of the same is the problem.
The setting which are done in Prod. server are,
1] RZ10 in parameters are set for port and host name.
2.1] In SMICM check for ICM.
2.2] Host file updated in Windows-System 32.
3] In SICF following services are active,
3.1] default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro
3.2] default_host/sap/public/bc
3.3] default_host/sap/public/bc/webdynpro/viewdesigner
3.4] default_host/sap/bc/wdvd
3.5] default_host/sap/public/icman
3.6] default_host/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui
3.7] default_host/sap/public/ping
3.8] default_host/sap/bc/error
3.9] default_host/sap/bc/echo
4] In SE80
4.1] Internet services-System-are published
4.2] Internet services-WEBGUI-are published
4.3] Utilities-Setting-ABAP Editor-Debugging-Username & New Debugger set.
4.4] Utilities-Setting-ABAP Editor-Editor-Front-End Editor(New) set.
5] In Su01 for user profiles sap_all & sap_new is assigned and role SAP_BC_WEBSERVICE_DEBUGGER is assigned.
6] The support packages are also updated to latest level.

RFC Connection error message while Debug the running WebDynpro app

Dear friends,
I am trying to debug WebDynpro application.
After configuring the NWDS with the J2EE server instance, I try to run the WebDynpro application, which I want to debug.
I did selecting the application and run after putting breakpoint at a button click.
But the webdynpro application uses 2 JCo destiantions, and so it gives JCOClientConnection for logical System: ... Please assure that you have configured the RFC connections and/or logical system name properly for this model! message.
If I run the same application from the portal, it doesn't give such error message.
Can anybody help me how can I run the WebDynpro application for debug purpose without getting this error message?

Hi,
are you running the application on the same server? Or are you using the Debugmode on your local installation.
If so, you should check the JCO Destinations on you local server.

Error while configuring Debugging for WebDynpro Application

Hi Experts,
I am trying to configure Portal server for debugging a WebDynpro application.
In NWDS , in Debug configuration
When i tried to add my Webdynpro Project and application under Debug tab , No problem.
But when i checked J2EE Engine tab : it showed the following error.
<b>[J2EE Engine]: the selected server node does not run in restricted load balancing mode, please configure it correctly so that the URL extention can be used</b>
And ignoring it when i started debugging the application , the URL was formed like this :
http://<host>:50000/@@@DEBUG@@@7672950/webdynpro/dispatcher
/local/WDtest/WDtest?SAPtestId=1
with the error : The requested resource does not exist.
Details: Go to main page of this application!
Can anybody help me to fix the configuration.

Hi,
To configure to the debugging mode... follow the steps:
1. Select "SDM" from J2EE engine (To get this view navigate thru Window--> Show View --> J2EE Engine)
2. Make a right click on "SDM" and choose "Enabling Debugging of Process"
3. Now, Navigate to Run --> Debug --> Select your Project as "Webdynpro Application" and click "new" button
4. Now give some name and Click BROWSE to select ur project and then click APPLY and DEBUG
Or if u use 2004s, then u can do the settings in Portal itself...which gives u more clear information... follow the link

Debugging abap webdynpro application

hi gurus,
an abap webdynpro application is runninf fine in developmernt server but not in production system. i transported the application again to refresh the application in production. but still the error persists. now i want to debug the abap editor in production system. so i wrote code 'BREAK POINT' in abap editor. but program is not stopping at this code. in dev as well as in prod system. please suggest.

Debugging the webdynpro abap application from portal.

I developed a WebDynpro application and integrated in portal. I have to catch some portal events.For that i have written some code in my application. I tried to debug the application from portal by using all the available break-point types.but we could not .
Anybody have an idea how to debug a WebDynpro application from portal.

One thing note here is
"You have debugging authorization in the ABAP Workbench in the relevant system.
Since debugging in the ABAP system via load balancing is not supported, you must reconfigure your JCO destinations so that the calls take place on a dedicated ABAP application server. For Web Dynpro, this is done in the Web Dynpro Content Administrator. In the destination maintenance, specify Single Server Connection as the Destination Type ".
Other than that ideally it works with j2ee and abap on diff systems.

     3. If Component contains more than one view, how to make one view is the default. Is that any way I can hide a view.

As i explained LIMU are subobjects like views as they dont have the seperate identity in repository so they have to be linked thru there parent component.
So when you transport whole component u can see there would be some entries in your transport list as LIMU types ( for views , windows).
OTR are text elements which u create for the elements of your view so u dont require to hardcode the text to be displayed as they need to be displayed in different languages so what you do is you create say button and for text to be displayed you create on OTR element under some package. now you give this package to your translation team to do all needed translations.
Yes DDIC types are from dictionary only but when you transport them so all newly created DDIC should also be transported.

Run-> Debug->Webdynpr->
Right click and select new
Once this is done you will see four tabs
1)Debug: select your project and the application to launch
2) Select the SAP System for Debugging
3)Source need to be added here.

I am trying to WebDynpro application debug Configuration.
But I could not find the Debug Configurator link under portal's System Administrator -> System Configuration -> Web Dynpro Console -> Settings
My portal version is
J2EE Engine : 6.40 PatchLevel 105424.313
Portal : 6.0.18.1.0
KnowledgeManagementCollaboration : 6.0.18.0.0 (NW04 SPS18)
Can anybody help me where I am wrong and how can I do Java WebDynpro application debug configuration can do?
