Webforms - display items appearing as black

Hi,
I need somebody's help. When I navigate from a custom built form to a third party application form all display items in the third party appl. form are blackened out.
This state persists throughout the session for all third party appl. forms.
I initially thought that it was a global value which
I had not set when navigating from custom form to other form.
I've spoken to the company that built these forms and they
state that they do not set any visual attributes etc. programmatically.
Their visual attributes on the form is default, foreground/background colour= <unspecified>
Have I missed something in my formsweb.cfg?
I have already set:
lookandfeel=generic
readOnlyBackground=automatic
darkLook=false
in the config file.

For this you need to change your XMl config file. Please use below code

To get Hyper link we need to define the type="link" and when we click on hyper link
some action gets executed so we define the actionRef="viewDetail"

when you open your 'Downloads' folder choose 'View' in the Menu bar and choose:
'as List'
'Show View Options'
In 'View options' window you tick:
'Always open in list view'
'Date Modified', or
'Date created'
Now inside the 'Downloads' folder click on 'Date Created' (or 'Date Modified')
column to get items alined from oldest to newest date (or reverse)…

How to display item procedure results in Search results?

I have a custom item type based on Image that displays a thumbnail instead of the image itself. This is accomplished using a procedure call and displaying the results with the item and modifying the region attributes to omit the image, but when the items appear in search results, the procedure results are not displayed.
How do I get an item's procedure results to display in search results?

Are you asking how to pivot the results of the query? Do a search for horizontal looping. If that's not what you are asking, please provide more details.

Appearance of black in Bridge cs4

I set the appearance of black in illustrator to "display all blacks as rich black" and "output all blacks as rich black". when displaying the previews of these files in bridge they only display backs "accurately" or in "100k black". This also happens in Preview 4.1 and Adobe Acrobat reader.

when I open Bridge the folder name, 2009, is in tiny 3 or 4 point type, underneath which, in much larger type, is a date on which the folder was created,
The folder name is dynamic in size while the additional info lines seem to be fixed in size. I never noticed this before but your post make me trying because the first look at your screenshot showed you have tiny thumbnails set. Try yourself using the slider bottom right in the Bridge window to increase the thumbnails and you will see that the filename enlarges in points together with the size of the thumbnails.
This is simply confusing, is there any way to prevent this date being shown under the folder name?
Nothing confusing just a great way to add extra info. In Bridge Preferences is a section called 'thumbnails'. Inhere you see the option for 'Details'
You can add up to 4 lines of additional info for thumbnails choosing subjects to show from the pop up menu. If you don't want it to show at all deselect all the options

The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Saving adobe illustrator to PDF changes appearance of black.

I have been trying to save a poster I am making for ages from Illustrator to PDF on my PC. I have my preferences on Illustrator set as CMYK and the appearance of black is 'Rich Black' and it looks right on illustrator but the minute I save it to PDF and open it, the black appears grey. I am desperate at this point since my deadline is tomorrow. I don't know why this isn't working, because I haven't had this issue before with Adobe. This is a particular problem because the black of my border (which appears grey) conflicts with the rich black of a jpeg image that I want to merge with the border. I don't understand the issue, after trying many different settings.

Is the JPEG you're trying to match RGB or CMYK? If it's RGB, use a RGB swatch in Illustrator that matches the values of the black in the JPG. If it's CMYK and the black is 100% everything, convert it back to RGB. If it's CMYK and has a more sensible (i.e. below the total ink limit specified in your CMYK profile) rich black, use a CMYK swatch that matches it.
Having Illustrator set to display 100% K as rich black is misleading and I don't recommend it. Solid black ink or toner alone will appear somewhat grey when printed, otherwise there would be no need for rich black. It's better to be able to distinguish between the two on screen.

Transparent Background for a Label/Display item

I'm using Forms 10g.
I'd like to make the background of my labels (display items) transparent. i.e. it should be the same colour as the canvas (eg teal) instead of the ugly white default background.
Can anyone help?

Wait a minute! Abigail is not really asking for "transparent" background. All you need is for the background to have the SAME background color as the canvas.
All of our forms have that feature. Display-only fields have same background color as the canvas, update items have a white background, and the item where the cursor is located gets set yellow.
We do it with property classes and visual attributes. The canvas is assigned a Visual Attribute = "WINDOWBACKGROUND", and display-only fields are assigned a Visual Attribute of "DISPLAYITEM". Both visual attributes are assigned the same background color, with the foreground (text) color black and navy respectively.
We have mouse-click processes that allow the user to change the screen background color from the default to something they might like better. That process just changes the background color of the two visual attributes, and both the canvas and all the items' background colors change together.

Disappearing text in display item

Facing a silly problem whereby text in a display item, which is populated automatically through the new form trigger disappears mysteriously when run on the web. The text appears fine in client-server mode. I have tried changing background colors for the display item and text color too.... in vain. But I can see that the display item is present, it is the text in it which is missing.
Any ideas?

A couple of options. Create a timer and write a pl/sql procedure which will do all those things for you, like changing background/foreground colors of your text/display item and replacing text imitating its movement. Or use image item instead with animated gif or something.

Cinema display has lit on, black screen

Hi everyone-
I have been searching the forums on a fix to the issue I am having. I am currently using a 17" MacBook pro (2006) and have a 22" apple LCD cinema display (from 2002) as my primary display. I use both at the same time. I have never had an issue with either and originally bought my display brand new in '02. Just yesterday as I got back to my desk, I tried to wake my system up, with the MacBook pro running fine and the 22" keeping the black screen. The light stays on underneath however. After shutting down, restarting, unplugging, etc the screen would not work the way it normally does. Every once in a while the screen would turn on, but was dark. When the screen is black, the light underneath is bright. When the screen would display, the light was faint. It would go back and forth between on and dull and completely black. The light continues to stay on when connected to a power source. It turns off when disconnected from power, and no matter how long I wait to plug it back in the light turns back on.

That's what I thought the situation was.
With the 22" "out" and as your primary screen how are you able to run since the menu bar would be on the screen you cannot see?
I think, for the moment, you need to make your MBP your primary. Hopefully if you disconnect the external 22" (may have to reboot) your MBP should become the primary. Then go into the Displays system preferences and make sure it is the primary with the Arrangement tab (move the little menu bar on to your MBP screen in Arrangement).
Now, at least you can control the Displays prefs for both monitors. If you reconnect the 22" (again may have to reboot) click detect displays and gather windows to get the Displays prefs for the blacked out 22" on to your main monitor (which is now your MBP).
Check the resolution and refresh rate. If they are ok then again I still think there is something wrong with the 22". But it couldn't be definitively be determined unless you could connect that 22" to another machine.
After thought: Your definitions of "primary" and "secondary". Maybe they don't agree with my definitions. I specify the "primary" monitor as the one containing the menu bar. Is that your definition? If so my original question about how are you able to run without seeing the menu bar on the 22" stands. But it occurs to me that your definitions may be that you still keep the menubar on your MBP but just work with the 22" most of the time.

Display a database item on display item

please i have a varchar database item and i want to display the last item in this field on a display item what should i do and i used the row id to get the last value but it didn't work

Still not clear what you are trying to achieve...
it is just a non database item that i want to view the data in the database item in itIf it a "non database item", how can it have a relationship with a database value?

Hi,
F-44 is used for clearing vendor - header data. Check if there are both debit and credit entries for the vendor and if it exists then clear using F-44. Check the entries correctly in FBL1.

Old deleted items appearing again in trash

Hello,
I have been reviewing my trash of late and I have noticed that items that I have previously deleted and subsequently emptied from the Trasn Car and re-appearing. Yesterday my trash was empty and today there are items appearing as having been deleted on 17th December???
Anyone know why this is?

Portlet Item Attr: "Link That Displays Item in New Browser Window"

I have been searching the forums for a similar experience, but haven't found anything quite like this:
I have a couple of portlets. One is a Discoverer Portlet, the other is something more basic: The "Developer News" portlet from the 9iAS Community portlet provider.
After defining the portlets and looking at them, I edit the page and click the Edit button (little pencil) to edit the attributes.
There are radio buttons for Display Options.
One option is: "Link that Displays Item in New Browser Window."
When I select this, OK, and then go back to the page, **the portlet doesn't show at all any more! There is no link, no nothing. Note that I have defined a Display Name, which should be the text for the link.
It would seem that this feature flat out doesn't work.
This technique for a popup works fine for an "Item" defined in an item region.
Anyone?

Yes -- I did do that after reading an article on metalink about such issues.
This actually changes the problem.
When I add the "Display name and image link" attribute to the region, I now do get a link.
However, clicking it brings up an undefined Discoverer portlet.
It works great for non-Disco portlets. For instance, I was able to pop up the "Developer News" portlet from the Oracle 9iAS Community portlet provider.
I think the problem is that the link that Disco produces does not provide enough information to bring up the particular portlet. For instance, the URL does not have the workbook name, the worksheet name, the parameter values, etc.
If anyone uses Disco w/ the portal, I would be curious to hear if anyone can reproduce this apparent bug / limitation.

Try this ...
Open a Finder window then from the menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Click Go.
If you see the: AdobePDFViewer plugin (or anything Adobe related) in the Internet Plug-Ins folder, move it to the trash.
Restart your Mac and try opening a PDF file.
