WebHelp - With help window open, second application click does not bring help window back into focus

Hello all,
Using RH11 to create context sensitive WebHelp for use with apigee-to-go console.
Console allows URL calls to launch help in a new browser window (named within the help project). Works fine except that the browser help window does not regain focus when subsequent context calls are made from the application.
Steps:
With application running in a browser window, I click a help link. New browser window opens with correct help topic displayed.
Return to application without closing help window. Application window takes focus; help window moves to back.
I click another help link. Help window does not regain focus. However, it DOES move to the correct topic.
I've tried lots of things. Nothing seems to fix this.
For reference, my context call looks like this:

Thanks for the responses, but this doesn't really help.
I'm using a simple URL to make the call.
(That's all I can do within the web app API console I'm working with.)
If I knew how to crack open all of the javascript that RH creates (and had that much time to work on it), I'd try to address it.
I have to give up for now.
I've just appended >>newwnd=false to the end of my calls, so the help appears in another browser tab, rather than its own window.
This isn't great, since each call opens a new tab, but that's better than the help window disappearing behind the sea of open windows most of us have going on, only to cause the user to hunt for it (if they even know it's there).
So, <URL>/index.htm#<id=37>>wnd=HelpPopup
becomes <URL>/index.htm#<id=37>>wnd=HelpPopup>>newwnd=false

If I ever find the time to really work on this issue, I'll post a fix (if there is one).
(Again, I suspect this is just buggy RH javascript. RH knows enough to update the contents of the help/browser window, but not enough to focus it.)

Using firefox 14.0.1. Loading a link using right-click and "Open Link In New Window", results in new window opening but address bar does not show URL. However, if I right click on a link and select "Open Link In New Tab", the Tab shows URL in address bar. So it's working when it's a New Tab but not a New Window.

To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

How do you eject your iOS device from photos? Right clicking does not bring up the menu.

I noticed there is no intuitive way to eject the iOS device from Photos. No up arrow, and right clicking does not bring up an eject option. I do not want to enlarge the "other" space of my iOS device by not ejecting it properly.

I too have noticed this. Yesterday after downloading photos from my iPhone 5s to Mac Photos for the first time since iOS and OSX updates on the weekend. I do not have the option to sync this phone to iTunes when connected ticked so only Photos opens. After download I wanted to eject the phone but noted no eject arrow in Photos, I went to a new Finder window and was surprised to see the phone was not listed under Devices so I had to launch iTunes and allow a sync to complete before I could eject. This is plainly not right, the industry and Apple themselves tell us constantly that we must "Eject" before removal of a USB device. If not one usually gets a dialogue box to say the device was not properly ejected.

The Help Link from the Application Pages Does not Work for Peoplesoft Campus Solutions 9.0

Hi everyone.
I have a problem, I have been trying to set up the Help Link from the Application Pages for Peoplesoft Campus Solutions 9.0 according to the instructions given in the Document: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17566_01/epm91pbr0/eng/psbooks/EnablingtheHelpLinkfromApplicationPages.pdf , (referenced in the Doc ID 1289101.1, E-PB: How to Set Up the Context Sensitive Help with Hosted PeopleBooks using Universal Linking).
I follow the instructions of that document carefully:
I go to: PeopleTools -> Web Profile -> Web Profile Configuration
    2. Then I choose the Web Profile: "Development".
    3. Then Change the value for the Help URL field by entering the following URL format: http://www.oracle.com/pls/topic/lookup?id=%CONTEXT_ID%&ctx=hrcs90r5 , the ctx parameter selected is the one that correspond to the Campus Solutions (hrcs90r5) according to the Product Line Code Table (ULinkID) especified in the mentioned document.
    4. Stop the Web Domain and Clear cache.
    5. Start the Web Domain again.
After setting up the Web Profile Configuration I test the help links, thas is why I click in the Help link in any Peoplesoft CS 9.0 Application Page (modify a person), but the next error message appears: "We're sorry, the topic you requested was not found.".
I tried many combinations with the ctx parameters URL but it does not work yet.
I did the same test, but this time using the Help URL field with a HRMS ctx parameter by entering the following URL format: http://www.oracle.com/pls/topic/lookup?id=%CONTEXT_ID%&ctx=hcm92pbr5 , and It works fine !!!
According to the previous test you realize that It works with HRMS ctx parameter but not with Campus Solutions 9.0 ctx parameter, Does anybody know what else can I do ? Am I doing anything wrong or missing? or maybe the Oracle's ctx parameter for Campus Solutions URL It is broken simply.

2799444 - The page you are testing with appears to be a Workforce Administration page. Is that correct?
The CS PeopleBooks would only work for CS pages, e.g.: try navigating to Main Menu > Campus Community > Personal Information > Add/Update a Person
Also, you can use multiple ctx parameters:
E.g.: http://www.oracle.com/pls/topic/lookup?id=%CONTEXT_ID%&ctx=hrcs90r5&ctx=hcm92pbr5&ctx=pt852pbh2
This way the help would work for the HR related pages like Workforce Administration, Campus Solutions pages like Campus Community and also PeopleTools pages like Web Profile Configuration. Hope this clarifies your question. Thanks!

Organizer opens, Photoshop Elements 12 does not, please help!

I am having a problem getting Photoshop Elements to OPEN, in fact it does not open. Organizer opens just fine.
I have a new computer...running Windows 8.1 I have installed, uninstalled, over and over and also brought computer back to origional state.
I need a walk-though help. Soon....

When I click on Firefox, it won't open... the icon flashes as if opening but no browser window opens. It also does not appear in the task manager

I click on the icon and it flashes as if opening.... no browser window appears.... I check the task manager to see if it is open but not displayed... nothing in the task manager..
So I uninstalled it leaving my preferences, and reinstalled it but it does the same thing. This time when I went to uninstall it again wiping the preferences away (in case it is those that is causing the problem) the uninstall program said that I had to close firefox first... but it isn't showing up as open in the task manager....
Final though... the last few weeks I have had a page pop up to advertise a need to update this or that, a need to click on this or that... obviously some kind of bug/virus.... help me get firefox going again...
On Windows 7 platform

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. 
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. 
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Again me with a keyListener question, second alt press does not register

hey, i noticed something was off with the behavior of the application i wrote, and then i checked with the KeyEventDemo.java at http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/events/keylistener.html
and i found out that i was correct, when pressing and releasing the Alt key it registers pressed and released, but when pressed the second time only released is registered.
since the alt key behaves different then the rest of the keys, i'm sure there is a reason for it, can any one tell me why, or if can work around it??

Our approach is to suggest the best approach that we know. This approach may or may not be appropriate, that is why you read the tutorial and make up your own mind. Of course all Swing components use KeyBindings. Many of them like the text components or JTable will bind 20 different keys. it's not that i didn't take your advice from the first time you gave it, i read the tutorial of both keyListener and keyBinding, and browsed through the documentation of them both, but still a few things were not clear to me as to the efficiency of a wider usage of keys that's all.
and btw I have the utmost respect to you guys and what you do, and i hope we can still get along, so thank you for your help, i'll menage from here.

I have checked the warn me when closing firefox with multiple tabs open but the system does not warn me and closes all of the tabs?

i have checked the box that says to warn me if i am closing firefox with more than one tab open but if i do close with more than one tab open it does not warn me?

Context Menu (or right button click) does not appear menu-window

The context menu does not appear in some browser sections.
If I run browser in safe mode it works without problem.
I've tried to reinstall firefox, after uninstall I also manualy deleted all rest hidden and visible folders - did not help.
Also I tried restore to default mode - did not help.

Double-clicking does not bring up any of the Tools options menus

I'm on my first lesson in Illustrator (CS5), never having used any Adobe graphics programs before, and I have somehow lost the ability to double-click and bring up any Tools options menus.For instance, if I double-click the scale tool,nothing happens. This is after I have (I believe) already selected the shape with the selector-arrow-tool and clicked on the shape. Any help for this would be greatly appreciated as I am at a complete standstill.

I read your links and made sure everything like the edges and the bounding box were unhid, but that did not solve the problem. I get a plus sign when I select the scaling tool in CS5 and I am supposed to get a menu where I can select a "scale to 50%" option - according to the CS4 book.
I have not yet tried your suggestion #1 of closing down AI and command/option/shift during startup because I am unsure if you mean "startup" AI or "startup" the entire computer.
I'm not sure if you wanted me to reinstall the entire suite, which I don't really want to do. It is my very first day using a brand new CS5 install and my first day ever attempting to do anything on anything, plus I have a brand new computer with lots of capacity.
Is there some kind of difficulty with having other apps open while working in Adobe? If so, that might be it.
Any further advice will be greatly appreciated!

Double click does not bring up my Multitasking bar anymore.

I have the iphone 6 with the software 8.1.1. There are 2 problems I am having with my my home button.
1. When I soft click the button twice the screen does not shift down half way anymore.
2. When I hard click the home button twice my multi-tasking bar does not come up.
This did not just happen after I updated but only in the last couple days.
Is there something I can do?

AICS5-I cannot reflect by specifying an axis--alt-Click does not bring up dialog box

I follow the instructions below. But when I alt-click, the dialog box does not pop up ---at least not until I give up and move my cursor off the artboard. Then the dialog box comes up, but the "preview" shows my object no where near reflected off the axis I designated???
Reflect by specifying an axis
Select the object to reflect.
To reflect the object around the object’s center point, choose Object > Transform > Reflect or double-click the Reflect tool .
To reflect the object around a different reference point, Alt‑click (Windows) or Option‑click (Mac OS) anywhere in the document window.
In the Reflect dialog box, select the axis across which you want the object to be reflected. You can reflect an object across a horizontal, a vertical, or an angled axis.
If the object contains patterns and you want to reflect the patterns, select Patterns. (To reflect only the patterns, deselect Objects.)
To preview the effect before you apply it, select Preview.
Do one of the following:
To reflect the object, click OK.
To reflect a copy of the object, click Copy.

CMD+Tab between apps does not bring fullscreen window into focus.

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard and now I can't tab between fullscreen apps and regular screened apps.
Let me clarify then that my Cmd-Tab function itself still works (the toolbar for whatever application I switch to appears at the top) but the window itself does not slide back into view (fullscreen apps).
I can tab from fullscreen apps TO regular screen apps and the regular screen (and application) slides into view. But when I tab back into a fullscreen app, only the toolbar changes. The screen itself does NOT slide back into view.
Another noteworthy observation is that I CAN tab between two fullscreen applications. The toolbar and window both slide into view like normal.
So the problem ONLY presents itself when I try to switch from regular screen to fullscreen apps. I already restarted numerous times and also repaired disk permissions twice.
I'm running ML 10.8.2 on a Mid 2010 15" Macbook Pro (2.66 GHz i7 with 4GB RAM).

By the way, this interacts with the "order front" bug described here in a nasty way. Fortunately, suggest it is fixed in Mountain Lion.

Cmd-tab does not bring up window

When you use command-tab (actually cntl-tab) in Windows, you can scroll through each active program and the active program you stop on displays the window of the active program even if you had minimized it previously. This is not true for the Mac operating systems. You can use cmd-tab, but the program you stop on--even though it is the active program--the window does not show if it has been minimized. You have to click on the icon in the dock.
Is there anyway you can re-launch the last active window of the active program without clicking on its icon in the dock? Is there a shortcut key combination that launches the window of an active program?

To my knowledge, no. I tend to avoid the problem by not minimizing windows. If I want to get to the desktop I use Mission Control's desktop function. I also use multiple desktops and assign programs to them.

Command Tilde round robins between windows of an application but does not work in Most Recently Used mode

Suppose I have 5 excel sheets open and I want to toggle between 2 excel sheets on which i'm working on currently. How do it do it in Mac ? Cmd-~ round robins between all the open excels. Alt-Tab in windows work on the Most Recently Used concept. Is there a way to achieve this in Mac ?

Not a reply to this specific question, just a quasi-relevant comment that might help some folks.
In Leopard, and with (for example) English and Russian chosen in System Prefs under "Language" and the keyboard shortcut set to command+space, I would always see the flag change in the menu bar as soon as command+space were chosen. Now, under Snow Leopard, hitting command+space seems not to make the change. But it does make the change, you just need to take your fingers off the keys first, then the flag will change.
