WebI 4.0: Publishing Report: BI Service

Hello guys,
i have a problem when I try to publish a reporting object in Web Intelligence 4.0.
When I click on "publish as a WebService" and click on next it tries to find duplicates. This take about 60 Seconds and then I recieve an error:
The server sent HTTP status code 504: Proxy Timeout (the connection timed out).
The same error message appears when the frame appears where you normally can select the destination to save the webservice.
Can you may tell where I may can adjust the according Time Out period?
Thanks and regards,
Markus

HI,
try this:
Open the dsws.properties file from ~/Tomcat6/webapps/dswsbobje/WEB-INF/classes, and enter a new line ( you can enter this just below the first Trace=0 line):
session.timeout=3600
Restart Tomcat.
Also if you are using a Proxy server you can ask the Network Admin to increase the Session timeout for you.

      SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid, REPORT_DESTYPE,  FILE);

  • Passing parameters to BI Publisher report via a web service

    I have got the application interface to BI Publisher working through the white paper "Integrating Oracle Application Express with BI Publisher". The last bit of trouble I'm having is passing a parameter to my BI Publisher report. I believe this is done in the "download" process where the soap envelope is created, but I'm not sure.
    The code in the white paper is:
    <parameterNameValues xsi:type="pub:ArrayOfParamNameValue" soapenc:arrayType="pub:ParamNameValue[]"/>
    If I have a parameter of "HEADER_ID" with a value of say "5", how do I code this? I have tried the following, but it doesn't work:
    <parameterNameValues >
    <item>
    <name>HEADER_ID</name>
    <multiValuesAllowed>false</multiValuesAllowed>
    <values>
    <item>5</item>
    </values>
    </item>
    Alex.

    Hello Alex
    This format works for me...
                   <parameterNameValues>
                      <item>
                         <name>P_CONTACT_ID</name>
                         <multiValuesAllowed>true</multiValuesAllowed>
                         <values>
                            <item>#P117_CONTACT_ID#</item>
                         </values>
                      </item>
                   </parameterNameValues>The only difference I can see is your setting of <multiValuesAllowed>false</multiValuesAllowed>
    Aside from that, how is your BIP report configured to receive the parameter?
    Kind regards

    Hi Vetsrini,
    We're on 10.1.3.4.1 and siebel 8.1.1.3 and when trying to open a report from within siebel in the output format EXCEL (selected from the parameter applet), it just opens the document in the browser.
    Is there a way to get it to open directly in Excel? I guess the reason is the file extension*.EXCEL, how could we get the extension to be in excel format (xls)?
    We don't want our users to have to do this themself.

  • BI windows services causing BI publisher report not to work

    All,
    We have BI windows services installed. When we start BI thru windows services all the analysis and dashboard works but I am not able to open BI publisher reports.
    The page stays on Processing.... only.
    As soon as we start BI services thru command prompt all the publisher reports works.
    Any thoughts.
    Thanks in advance

    By default BI services(BI Server, Presentation server, scheduler, java host) are Windows services, more over there is no relation for BIP with BI unless you configure BI Security.
    If it is OC4J then make sure your configuration.

  • SharePoint - Web Part - SQL Server Reporting Services Report Viewer Error.

    Hi,
    I was just having a bit of a fiddle with the differen't web-parts available to add on our local SharePoint site, and as one of my tasks is to have a report automatically open when the page is opened i thought i would try to add the web-part 'SQL Server Reporting
    Services Report Viewer' just to see the outcome.
    Now, I don't much care about viewing the report at this time, but imediately after trying to add the web part i am being displayed with an error and no matter how much i navigate away from the page or close the browser the particular link to the page i was
    trying to insert the web-part into now displays an error.
    The error simply says 'An unexpsected error has occured' with various 'Correlation ID:' each time.
    Now i have a link to other parts or subsites of that SharePoint site and they work just fine, it's just when i try to click on the page where i wanted to put the web-part in it
    still comes up with an error. This page just so happens to be the home page so it really does need to be fixed.
    Please help!?
    Many Thanks,
    Plain_Clueless

    Hi again,
    Sorry for the bother, We have now fixed the issue for the time being.. all that was needed was a simple '?contents=1' at the end of the url which takes you to a menu where you can delete the
    necessary web-part that was causing the trouble.
    As for actually implementing the report onto SharePoint.. in future i will make Dev pages instead.. and it seems i may need to contact the admin side of building so they configure 'SQL Reporting
    Services Report Viewer' properly.
    Thanks a lot though!

  • Using Reports6i to Publish Reports On The Web As PDF Format - Arabic Data

    Hi everybody.
    I am using Reports6i to create some reports and publish them on the web as PDF format for security reason. The problem is that the opened document displays Arabic letters in encrypted way, I tried to use Acrobat Reader version 5 but it is still not working. Then I try to publish reports as HTML document, In this way, the arabic letters look fine but any vertical lines I designed in the reports did not show up, furthermore, the user can edit HTML document, change the data, then print the report, so using HTML as an output is not secure.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello ,
    You can try out the following
    1. Click on the Report name and bring up the property palette to show all of the properties for the whole report.
    2. Under Report Escapes->Before Form Value, change form method from POST to GET .
    Thanks

  • Error is occured while FTPing a BI publisher report

    The following Error is occured while FTPing a BI publisher report. The scheduling was running fine for the lase 1 year .But this error is occuring in production schedule of the ftp for the last 2 days.When I do the FTP by 'Run Immediately' manually it works fine.
    oracle.apps.xdo.servlet.scheduler.ProcessingException: [ID:4621] Document file to deliver not found : /u01b/obiee/OracleBI/oc4j_bi/j2ee/home/applications/xmlpserver/xmlpserver/xdo/cache/xmlp7057786.tmp

    at org.quartz.core.JobRunShell.run(JobRunShell.java:195)
    at org.quartz.simpl.SimpleThreadPool$WorkerThread.run(SimpleThreadPool.java:520)

    I've also encounter this error since many mounth now and especially when using Excel Template (not RTF Template) with FTP Delivery (Without Busting OR with ScheduleBustringOption=FALSE using BIP Web Service).
    I've performed many tests trying to diagnose the cause but I need to redo these test because they was not done corretly. What I think is this is related with the processing of XML DATA with the corresponding Template.
    I remember that in most cases I had the folowing conditions to reproduce the problem :
    - Report is executed by scheduling it with FTP delivery
    - The correponding query did not return data (empty XML structure)
    - When execution ends, schedule status is SUCCESS (Data processing ???) but delivery is FAILED due to document not found in BIP temporary directories
    - When scheduling the report without using the template (that is XML format output) then all work perfectly without ERROR
    So you'll need to perform many test cases to identify cause OR submit bug on Oracle Support.
    I think sometimes BIP needs some MINIMAL XML structure for generated data to be able to work without error with template (RTF or EXCEL) which contains special formating like chart for example.
    Unfortunatly debugging those are very ........
    We solved our problem by modiying the template until error dissapear when no data is returned by the report query (I did not create SR on Oracle Support for this issue)
    Here is what I get in BIP log file when using my problematic excel template to reproduce error with a query that return empty dataset :
