Webinar Tool for Linux Host

I need to give a webinar in a few hours. I need to demo a website for a new
client and he asked for a webinar. To be honest I have never been
involved in a webinar--neither as host nor participant. He suggested
GoToMeeting but that requires Mac or Windows apparently.
Anybody know what tool I could use for this? Not sure what he has but
it ain't Linux, that's for sure. Actually I am pretty sure he has Windows.

My online school uses Elluminate for their webinars, and it works quite well with Linux as long as you have Sun's version of Java installed. Very few issues with it overall.

  • ISE MAB is not Triggered for Linux Host

    Hello,
We have configured MAB for hostst that do not support 802.1x, and in general working for most of the devices. For Some linux machines however, MAB is never triggered, i.e "debug mab all" and "debug radius" commands do not produce any output for the port. "show authentication session interface" command shows the 802.1x fail over to MAB, and after it MAB process starts to run but stays in running state without finishing.
If we put another MAB host as Windows 7 or XP or Printer, it works properly passsing tthe MAB Authentication and assigned Vlan. If we put the port as to the normal "switchport mode access" and "switchport access vlan x", the device shows up in the MAC address table of the switch, and starts to work.
As additional steps we have configured "authentication mode open" and "dot1x control-direction in" inorder to trigger or start the MAB Process allowing the packets out, but the "show interface " command the input packets counter remains 0, although output packet counters seem to increase continously to 1000 and above.
The IP Addresses are static, and it is a requirement, so dhcp may trigger MAB but this is not a choice currently.
IP device tracking is enabled, but again this did not change anything
Any recommendations or workarounds for this Problem? Although seems an endpoint issue, that it never produces a single packet  , there may be some
solutions to trigger MAB or learn the switch the Mac address of the Linux host, i.e. keepalive. We are also looking at the host side,
    The port configuration is:
    switchport access vlan 98
    switchport mode access
    ip access-group ACL-ALLOW in
    authentication event fail action next-method
authentication event server dead action reinitialize vlan 97
authentication event server alive action reinitialize
    authentication host-mode multi-auth
    authentication open
    authentication order dot1x mab
    authentication priority dot1x mab
    authentication port-control auto
    authentication periodic
    authentication timer reauthenticate server
    authentication violation restrict
    mab
    dot1x pae authenticator
    dot1x timeout tx-period 10
    spanning-tree portfast
    Thanks in Advance,
    Best Regards,

    Hi Ravi,
Since the linux is some kind of embedded linux, we could not get the tcp dump on the PC itself, but tried to see what is going on with a span of this port. What is interesting is that the machine does not produce even a single ethernet or IP packet and remains completely silent. (We thought dhcp would be solution but the configuration file only allows to statically assign IP address).
What we think is that somehow the machine starts to send packets after receiving a packet like Wake on LAN or arp. As you see on the port configuration the machine starts in Vlan 98, so in this Vlan it is not possible to get this packet from any other hosts on the same IP subnet since the IP of the host is Vlan 6. But in order to ISE to assign this Vlan 6 to the port with MAB, Mac Address of the host needs to be authenticated, which is not occuring because of the silence problem.
As a workaround to a similar problem, we changed the "switchport access vlan 98" to "switchport access vlan 6" and with this configuration the Mac address is learned and the host is authenticated by ISE and port is assigned to Vlan 6 dynamically which is observed on "show authentication session interface" command output. This is also not accepted because the access port configuration is required to be as standard as possible due to changing of the cabling frequently. So every MAB host should start with a PreAuthentication Vlan, and go to final Vlan after Authentication and authorizaiton with Posture checking or profiling.
As a second workaround these kind of machines are being worked on supporting dot1x, but this is a tedious process because often you need to escalate to the producer, and enhancement requests often prolong to be confirmed or denied.
Since we meet this problem also with some Printers, we think this is a problem of the TCP/IP Stack of the Operating System of the host. We are searching if there can be some mechanism to be able to make the host start conversation with a packet through a keepalive or some other protocol (or a script)  that can be enabled.

  • Surround Test Tool for Linux?

    Hello,
since I changed to Linux some years ago, my surround 5.1 Sound isn't working. Atm it seems that only the left front channel is used. I had a look into alsamixer but it's hard to judge which channel is or is not working. Under windows there was a little tool for my soundcard (Realtek ALC650F) which played a sound on every channel one after another - it was easy that way to check which channels were working. Is there something comparable for Linux?
    Thank you

  • Configure OMS for Linux host patching

    Hello,
I try to configure OMS 10.1.2.3.0(?) to patch my Oracle EL 5 x84_64 hosts. I followed the instructions in the document "Administrator’s Guide for Software and Server Provisioning and Patching 10g Release 5 (10.2.0.5.0) E14500-03" chapter 3.5 and chapter 20. I own an CSI
In chapter 3.5.2.2, the installation of the yum-repository is described. It reads:
    11. Type the command up2date nox show-channels to verify the list of subscribed channels.
-> this works well, the server is subscribed to x86_64/latest and x86_64/addon
    12. Once the deployment procedure completes successfully, goto Setup, select Patching Setup, and then select Manage RPM Repository to verify if the ULN channels are displayed in the Enterprise Manager Console.
    13. In the Manage Repository Homepage, check if all the subscribed channels are listed and if all the packages are downloaded.
There is only Setup -> Patching Setup -> Linux Patching Setup -> Manage RPM Repository
The server is shown on the list of configured rpm repositories, but there are no channels!? There is only an empty list...
It is possible to retrieve new packages from UTN, but there is no way to update my other servers.
If I register a custom channel, I may patch my hosts, but cannot receive new packages...
I'm not sure how to continue, maybe s/o my help?
    Kind regards,
    Andreas

I asked earlier "And what flavour of Linux are you running?". I believe your linux has a name. Is it any of the two mentioned above (Red Hat Linux and SUSE Linux)? If yes, what versions are they? If no, then the message is clear.

    Hi tmx,
You can connect your PlayBook to Linux with both USB and Wifi.
The trick is to access it like a network device both ways.
    USB method:
    1. Plug in the PlayBook to your system and make sure that file sharing is set to 'Mac'.
    2. In the network icon you should see a new connection appear. If not, click on the icon and look at connection information.
    3. You should have a USB network device with an IP address of something like 169.128.123.123. Make a note of this number, and subtract 1 from the final 3 numbers for the next step.
    4. Open your home folder (Nautilus) and in the location bar type in smb://169.128.123.122 - based on your address that you wrote down in the last step. You have to subtract 1 to connect to the PlayBook like I did in my example.
    5. You should see the PlayBook appear as a 'Windows share', in there is the 'media' folder. Double-click and the PlayBook will be mounted as a network disk.
I know it's a bit fiddly, but once you've done it a few times it's really simple. I've been meaning to write a script to automate this... When I eventually get around to this I'll post it here
    1. If any post helps you please click the below the post(s) that helped you.

    Maciej,
I suggest you also glance at another storage-related Sun forum.
There is a link to it at:
    http://forum.sun.com/index.jspa
... near the bottom of that page.
My perception is that very few of the participants in these HARDWARE forums are using Linux in there daily administration of their Sun storage products.
The postings here are more for issues with the hardware pieces of equipment and not necessarily for whatever software may be used.

    Hi user,
Firstly you wont have admin tool for linux environment....you need to install the client on windows local machine and access the BI server of linux by setting up a connection.
So you need to download 64-bit or 32-bit windows one to install http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-enterprise-edition/downloads/biee-111150-393613.html

You just need a Linux distribution for Eclipse.JCOP Tools plugin should work under Linux, except for the target pack and the non-existent Pegoda driver for Linux.1. 2. Prior to JCOP Tools 3.1.2 the last time something was mentioned about Linux was in the release notes of 3.1.1b . In version 3.2.0 IBM added a linux_support page to the JCOP Tools user guide (see release notes and linux_support page below).
    3. There shouldn't be any problems with the generic simulation. The target pack runs only with Windows though.

    Overview
The current JCOP Tools release now also offer a version for the popular Linux
operating system. Both the Windows and Linux verson provide more or less the same
functionality, and JCOP application development can thus fully succeed on Linux systems.
Nevertheless, installation of the JCOP Tools differ between Windows and Linux
where the Linux version does not provide a simple installer as in case of Windows.
Additionally, the Linux version expects a properly setup Muscle PCSC installation
as soon as you want to use them together with physical, real cards. As Muscle
PCSC is still not shipped with most Linux distributions, you must download and
install them separately from the JCOP Tools.

The JCOP Tools simulation has been developed on a Fedora Core 6 system, but should also work in case of

    Java Development Kit
The JCOP Tools have been developed and tested with the Sun JDK 1.4.2_13-b06
for Linux. Your success with other Development Kits may vary as there are
partly subtle differences across the different devlopment kits.
    PCSC
The JCOP Tools use PCSC to talk with real cards on Linux. Most distributions
do not ship with Linux PCSC by default (Fedora Core 6 does), you must thus download it fromhttp://www.linuxnet.com
and install it by yourself. If you are used to software installation under Linux,
and are not afraid of compiling and installing software packages, this should
not be a hard problem. You have to download both the base PCSC package
(including PCSC daemon and client libraries) and separately the driver
for the reader you want to use. The PCSC package contains a test program
which should tell you whether your installation is set up correctly and
communicating with a card works. The JCOP Tools have been reported to
work together with Muscle PCSC version 1.3.1-7.
    JPCSC
The JCOP Tools are shipped with JPCSC which you can also download athttp://www.linuxnet.com. JPCSC
is a JNI library which offers Java applications the access to PC/SC functions
by mapping their requests to an underlying native PC/SC implementation. The JCOP
Tools - mostly written in Java - thus depend on JPCSC to communicate with real cards
on Linux. JPCSC depends on a properly installed and setup PC/SC environment.
Especially, the JAVA_LIBRARY_PATH should list the directories where the
PC/SC client libraries and the native JPCSC library libjpcsc.so ( downloadable as binary from
    Windows Binary Download Here )
are installed, the CLASSPATH variable should list th___
    Miscellaneous
    What should work
As soon as you setup your system correctly, there should only be minor differences
between using JCOP Tools on Windows or on Linux. Emulating a real JCOP,
debugging, shell, cap-file conersion should all be possible as in case of Windows.
    What is missing
No drivers or tools are currently available for using JCOP30's in contactless
mode. If you need such support, please contact directly NXP
    at for further assistance.

I have to use the command lines of Linux for SCM commands(like repcmd,

should I have to install something?
I have documentation for using the oracle repository command line Toll
for Windows and Unix, but I didn't found anything about using the oracle
repository command line Tool for Linux.

JDeveloper runs excellent on Linux and is supposed to be able to use the repository, but that's a GUI...
