It turns out that we forgot to copy over the 'optional' weblogic/lib/* files
included with the SP11 install. (We were only using the new
weblogic510sp11*.jar files and the Apache plugin). I don't know if this
error only occurs on other Solaris versions, but I hadn't seen anyone
reference the issue before. A suggestion might be for BEA to state that the
new weblogic/lib/* files are mandatory to use SP11.

  • Why does WebLogic hate me?

    Hello,
    I'm running WebLogic 5.1 SP11 locally on my Win2000 machine and I'm
    running into numerous problems trying to start this connection pool:
    weblogic.jdbc.connectionPool.SupportPool=\
    url=jdbc:oracle:thin:@thisistough.com:1521:dbid:dbid,\
    driver=oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver,\
    dll=oci805jdbc.dll,\
    initialCapacity=1,\
    maxCapacity=2,\
    props=user=weblogic;password=hatesme;
    allow=guest;support
    And this is part of the error message generated by this:
    Thu Feb 14 10:04:04 CST 2002:<E> <JDBC Pool> Failed to create
    connection pool "SupportPool"
    weblogic.common.ResourceException: Could not load
    'oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver' because
    System.loadLibrary threw java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError
    with the message 'oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver'.
    This could occur if the JDBC driver is not in the
    weblogic.class.path.
    If this is a type-2 JDBC driver, it may also indicate that
    the Driver native layers(DBMS client lib or driver DLL)
    have not been installed properly on your system or in your
    environment.
    This is most likely caused by one of the following:
    1. The native layer SO, SL, or DLL could not be found.
    2. The file permissions on the native layer SO, SL, or DLL
    have not been set properly.
    3. The native layer SO, SL, or DLL exists, but is either
    invalid or corrupted.
    For more information, read the installation documentation
    for your JDBC Driver, available from:
    http://www.weblogic.com/docs/install/install_jdbc.html
         at weblogic.jdbc.common.internal.ConnectionEnvFactory.loadDriver(ConnectionEnvFactory.java:89)
         at weblogic.jdbc.common.internal.ConnectionEnvFacto ...
    The dll specified in the connection pool is in my PATH, and the
    unzipped folder "classes12" is in both my WEBLOGIC_CLASSPATH and
    JAVA_CLASSPATH (beneath :setJava117, what's that?) that appear in my
    startWebLogic.cmd file. These are all things previous newsgroup posts
    said to do, yet still I'm stuck.
    Any suggestions?, Dave

    Hi,
    Can you please try to connect to the database from the command line by using utils.dbping,
    after setting your environment variables? You cannot create a connection pool
    because your server cannot locate your JDBC driver. It is likely to be a classpath
    issue. More details about this command at http://www.weblogic.com/docs51/techstart/dbping.html

  • Problems with JSSE under Weblogic 5.1 sp9

    I have a java application which uses JSSE to communicate with a WebMethods server
    and it works great. However, when I take the same code block and run it under
    Weblogic 5.1 sp11, I receive a bad certificate error. After spending a lot of
    time reading through various postings, I fixed the problem where Weblogic was
    intercepting HTTPsURLConnection, but still have the bad_certificate error.
    My setup is as follows:
    - Keys stored using keytool in keystores outside of Weblogic
    - Service pack 9 is installed (also tested SP10)
    - Code runs fine as an isolated java application, but will not run when called
    from within weblogic.
    - JDK1.3.1_02
    - Modified the weblogic.policy file with the following line:"permission java.net.NetPermission

    Hi Folks,
    We use two different versions of weblogic server. Weblogic 5.10 sp9
    running on Solaris 2.8 and Weblogic 5.10 sp11 running on AIX 4.3.3. I
    have no problems attaching to the sp9 server via my NT Weblogic
    Consule.
    My problem stems from the sp11 version. When I attempt to try and
    attach to it I get the following error:
    Unknow NamingException, class=javax.Naming.namingException
    I have read other newsgroup posts that talk about sp11 being buggy.
    Does anyone know of a way round this error ( perhaps some other way to
    attach to the server ) or a way to launch the AIX Weblogic Consule via
    the command line.
    Or, is there a third party software that I can use to view the
    weblogic pool , jdbc connections, and garbage collection via GUI
    interface?
    Cheers,
    Mark Noonan

    Make sure you are starting console with SP11 jars in the classpath.
    I just tried it here and i'm able to connect to console.

    Hi.
    Hmm. What is your shared library path set to? Or better still, from your
    weblogic.log file what is your java.library.path set to?
    Your platform looks ok. Your JDK version may be a little off, but I'm not
    sure if that would be the cause of this problem.

  • PageCheckSeconds not working in WLS 5.1SP11. Strange behavior..

              Hello All,
              We are using Weblogic 5.1 SP11 and I am seeing a strange behavior when I use the
              JSPC pre-compiler.
              Using JSPC compiler, I get class/source files in the workingDir that have two underscores
              prepended to the file name...Eg : index.jsp is translated into __index.java and pre-compiled
              into __index.class. Now when i start the webserver and
              then access this page, it does a re-compile and then
              creates class files and source files that have one underscore prepended to the file
              name Eg : index.jsp is precompiled into index.java and index.class.
              Also, the byte sizes of the two classfiles are different...What is the reason for
              this occurence ??....I looked at index.jsp and it does not contain a <jsp:include>
              that could have potentially explained the issue...
              I have set the pageCheckSeconds in the weblogic.properties file to -1 and also we
              are using the exploded directory format....
              Could someone please explain this phenomenon with WLS ??...How do
              you let WLS know about the pre-compiled classes ???...

  • NullPointerException with RMI-IIOP when throw a Exception

    Hi all,
    I have a ejb deployed in weblogic 5.1 sp12. I have a client in another weblogic
    5.1 sp11 that connects to the ejb using the protocol iiop.
    ctx = new javax.naming.InitialContext();
         prop = new Properties();
         prop.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
         provider="iiop://remote-machine:7001";
         prop.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL,provider);
    All works ok, but when my ejb throws and exception (UserNotFoundException),
    in the client I catch a NullPointeException (see StackTrace).
    If I use the t3 protocol, all works all right. I catch UserNotFoundException.
    My exception, UserNotFoundException extends java.lang.Exception.
    What is the problem?

    Thanks a lot,

    We have updated all weblogic to WLS5.1 SP12 with a jdk1.3.1.
    Now the problem is that the client can't conect to the server.
    If i use protocol iiop Never works. (stack trace).
    If i use t3 all works ok.
    But the best is that, if my server is a WL5.1 SP12 and the client is a WLS6.1
    SP2 using the iiop protocol all works ok.
    If i use t3, nothing works.

    The NPE is because codebases are not supported in WLS 5.1 or 6.1 IIOP

    changed between the client and server. You might want to try fixing
    the SVUID on your exception in both client and server and seeing if
    that helps. Also you should really use SP12 in the client if you
    can. Also make sure you are using the same JDK version in client and
    server.

    Hi all,
    I have a ejb deployed in weblogic 5.1 sp12. I have a client in anotherweblogic
    5.1 sp11 that connects to the ejb using the protocol iiop.
    ctx = new javax.naming.InitialContext();
         prop = new Properties();
         prop.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
         provider="iiop://remote-machine:7001";
         prop.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL,provider);

  • JNI UnsatisfiedLinkError in Weblogic 5.1.0 SP 8

    I am running Weblogic 5.1.0 with service pack 8 on solaris. We are using a web application called ecare. Servlets are under:myserver/ecare/web-inf/classes/servletsThe JavaBean that uses JNI to connect to the C code is under:myserver/ecare/web-inf/classes/JNIThe C library is under:myserver/ecare/web-inf/libThis path is added on LD_LIBRARY_PATHThe JavaBeans although it manages to load the library successfully it fails on the first native function call with the error java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: functionnameI've tested that code before adding it to our weblogic implementation, by using a test java program that made the native calls to the library and that worked fine.The JavaBean that calls the c library is in package JNI. I've tried using javah from the classes directory (parent of JNI, and in classpath) which produced a header file with the function names that included the package name JNI, but that did not help.Browsing through the emails on this newsgroup I've noticed that there were a few people with the same problem as me, but I did not manage to find any solution to the problem.Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am looking forward to hearing from any of you.Kind Regards,Mike

    For me it seems that you have not created the native method header file correctly.
    To create the header file correctly you have to call the javah compiler in the following
    way:
    javah -jni fullpackagename.NativeClassName
    then you get the right package name in your header file.
    This has solved the UnsatisfiedLinkError at the first call of my nativ method call.
    I hava not tested this within a EJB. It's still a "normal" programm.
    Greetings

  • Error Starting WebLogic Server 5.1 (SP11)

    Hi,
    I have installed weblogic server 5.1 (SP11) in NT, I tried to start the Weblogic
    Server and got the message "weblogic server started", immediatly after that I
    got the message " IIOP service not started as vm 1.3 was not found". Do you know
    what could be causing these IIOP error message?. Any help.
    Thanks in advance,
    RChandra

    51 SP11 is shipped with IIOP stuff and by default this sub-system is enabled.
    If you don't want IIOP, you can turn it off with the following system property
    -Dweblogic.system.enableIIOP=false weblogic.Server
    Otherwise make sure to start the server with 1.3 VM .
