WebLogic 6 Config

Does anyone know how to pass user defined properties into WebLogic 6 .
I know you could put java.system.property.name=value
statements into weblogic.properties in version 5.1 but i cant find a suitable place in the new config.xml file.
I wish to be able to get at the various properties i set in my beans using System.getProperty("")

Hello.
What about setting this with a -D parameter on Java command line? Just add -Djava.system.property.name=value on the command line.
Regards.

    confusion in Weblogic ReportsServer config without doing change the config ?
    my env
    windows 2008 64 Bit
    WLS 10.3.5 64 Bit
    pfrd Forms/Reports 11.1.1.4 64 Bit
    after Install all and config my Forms and Reports
    the default reports server i found with
    http://wlog:8090/reports/rwservlet/getserverinfo
    had a name
    RptSvr_myserverhost_Formsreportsinstan,
    I did run my Forms and reports well with RP2RRO.RP2RRO_RUN_PRODUCT
    now some time later I found, that the reportsServer name is changed to
    rep_wls_reports_myserverhost_formsreportsinstance_1
    and I don't know, why ??
    I do start the WLS_REPORT by using the oracle-scripts using startManagedWebLogic.cmd
    In the WLS Admin Console there I can see the WLS_REPORTS Server is well started
    and after change the ReportServername in my forms to the 'new' servername
    I can start my forms with Reports again
    In the Enterprise Manager 11g under the reports-tree there are three entries:
    ReportsTools
    reports(11.1.1.2.0)(WLS_REPORTS)
    RptSvr_myserverhost_Formsreportsinstan ( the 'old' reportserver, that isn't started and not available )
    on Server in
    C:\Oracle\Middleware\asinst_1\reports\server
    there are two entries:
    rep_wls_reports_wlog_formsreportsinstance_1.dat
    and
    RptSvr_myserverhost_Formsreportsinstan.dat
    and in
    C:\Oracle\Middleware\asinst_1\reports\
    is in the reports_install.properties file :
    SERVER_NAME=rep_wls_reports_wlog_formsreportsinstance_1
    ORACLE_INSTANCE_NAME=Formsreportsinstance_1
    INPROCESS_SERVER_NAME=rep_wls_reports_wlog_formsreportsinstance_1
    what I have done, that can be the reason for now have two entries for reportsserver ?
    In the last days i worked to create the windowsservices
    to start the WLS_AdminServer and to start the WLS_FORMS / WLS_REPORTS
    ManagedServer
    and I changed the IP - Adress of the WLS - ServerHost, ( and back again )
    but didn't create a new ReportServer ore anything !
    what can I do, to fix this confusion ?

    Hello,
    In 11g , there are 2 Reports Servers created by default :
    - rep_wls_reports_myserverhost_formsreportsinstance_1
    The "in-process" Reports Server . WLS_REPORTS must be started and you can start this "in-process" Reports Server by just calling an URL like http://server:port/reports/rwservlet/getserverinfo or by using the menu in the EM web site
    - RptSvr_myserverhost_Formsreportsinstan,
    The Standalone Reports Server . You can start it using opmnctl command or using the menu in the EM web site

    Hi Dejan,
    You can either use a newsgroup client such as Thuderbird or you can email it to me at [email protected]
    cheers

    The next time the issue occurs can you attach the .log file from the .metadata folder.
    Also can you attach information on what specific steps which may have caused the crash ?
    Thanks

    When does the Config.xml gets corrupted???. The weblogic server failed to start because of the corrupted config.xml file. I saw the config file its was empty. I replaced it with config.xml.booted and it worked fine. Can anybody explain in what circumstances does this file gets corrupted.

    Hi Krishna,
    Which version and service pack of Workshop and WLS 8.1 are you using ? Also can you attach the corrupt config.xml file ?
    Did the server restart successfully ?
    Was there anything abnormal in the last the shutdown prior to the corruption ?

  • Help CFGFWK-60814 error when creating weblogic domain(Config.cmd)

    Hi,
    I've installed soa suite 11gR2 without problem on windows 7 Turkish platform and Oracle XE DB. But, when I create domain based (run config.cmd) on templates it gives CFGFWK-60814 error; it says template can't be applied because it can't find dependencies although required files are already in correct directories.
    I found similar error on google, but I couldnt find solution.

    Hi Roshni,
    What is the version of wls you are using ?
    There is no silent mode of domain configuration. There is silent mode of wls installation.

  • Upgrading from Weblogic 6.1sp5/TopLink 3.6.3 to Weblogic 8.1/TopLink 9.0.4

    Hi.
    We are doing the migration from Weblogic 6.1sp5/TopLink 3.6.3 to Weblogic 8.1 & TopLink 9.0.4
    We have been reading available documentation and started the migration. We have not had any problems with package ranaming issues and XML DOCTYPES changes.
    As we do have a lot of ammedmed querys, we do prefer to use a java class as our proyect mapping descriptor rather than a huge XML.
    We are currently porting all our querys to the new system.
    As we are doing a lot of changes we are also updating our EJB 1.1 entity beans to EJB 2.0 (maybe in the future we will deploy our EJBs with local interfaces too).
    The main problem we are facing right now is with all the querys we had in our toplink-cmp-<bean>.xml files. Even if most of the finders are "REDIRECT" querys that had to be ammendmed we have a good number of "EXPRESSION"s on them.
    As far as we are able to see we should move them to the TopLink Project java file in the querys section. The question is: is it possible to declare them in the ejb-jar.xml file into the <ejb-ql> tag (we have seen that the TopLinkImplemented string appears on the <ejb-ql> telling the container who should handle the query, so if Weblogic can be "tricked" to do that "ejb-ql" it may be possible to do the same with a TopLink expression isn't it?.
    Another issue we don't have clear is if now all the querys must be either ejb-ql (compliant with the EJB 2.0 standard) or named querys (either TopLink expressions or SQL querys) defined in the TopLink Project java or XML files. What happened with the redirect querys
    I would like to point just another issue we have "solved" but we are not really satisfied with how we solved it.
    We are using timestamp locking with our entity beans. The shouldBindAllParameters is set to true too and we have the logging activated so we have been able to track down the problem.
    The problem seems to be something like this.
    You create a new entity bean and TopLink issues a sentence like this against the DB (Oracle 8.1.7 I must say we have also configured the login session to use the Oracle8PlatformSupport)
    INSERT INTO FOO(OID,OCA) VALUES (?, ?)
    bind => [1, 2004-04-26 13:16:45.251]
    As far as we know Oracle 8.1.7 doesn't store the milliseconds (we are using DATE type in Oracle tables) so the ".251" value is stored as "0"
    Then we try to delete the entity bean and TopLink sends this sentence to the database:
    DELETE FROM FOO WHERE ((OID = ? AND OCA = ?))
    bind => [1, 2004-04-26 13:16:45.251]
    Then, a TOPLINK-5003 (the object has been modified or deleted since last read) is raised and the transaction is rolled back.
    We tried without binding and it works perfect (it seems that the timestamp is treated as YYYY-MM-DD SSSSS in the "to_date" function issued)
    As we would like to keep with binding all parameters in order to optimize our database accesses we have changed the default jdbc driver (sun.jdbc...) that is showed when reading the proper property of the login sesion with the oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver. This latest driver seems to solve the problem with the reminders of the timestamps but this brings us a doubt.
    If we have configured two datasources in our Weblogic's config.xml file (one for transactional operations, beeing that one also an XA driver as we need to coordinate RDBMS operations with a JMS service, and the other one being a "standar" oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver) why is that the driver used as default by the login method is that "weird" sun.jdbc... driver? Shouldn't TopLink use one (the XA driver I hopefully) of the drivers defined in Weblogic's datasource?
    1. Is the issue we are seeing with the timestamp a known bug/problem?
    2. Is there a better way to solve it than changing the driver (we are affraid of the "new" issues changing it could raise)
    I have seen that with TopLink 3.6.3 and the "default" driver used in the login (it is the same by default on both TopLink 3.6.3 and TopLink 9.0.4) the binded timestamp are "truncated" to the second resolution and it works without any problem.
    Thanks in advance.
    Ignacio

    Not sure on all of the issues, but can provide some information on some of them.
    Re-directors:
    Support was added for re-director to core queries, so now your named queries can make use of re-director if they require advanced dynamic execution. So all re-director queries can become named queries.
    Timestamp locking:
    In general we would always suggest numeric version locking if you have the choice. I'm not clear on what you are saying about the driver having an effect on the problem, however in general Oracle 8 does not support milliseconds, if you use timestamp locking with local timestamps they will have milliseconds and the database values will not match the ones in memory.
    To resolve this you can,
    - Use server timestamps TimestampLockingPolicy.useServerTime()
    - Clear the timestamp's milli/nano second value through an aboutToInsert event.
    - Extend Oracle8Platform.convertObject to clear the timestamp's milli/nano second value.
    - If you can use Oracle 9 or 10 there is now a TIMESTAMP type that does support milliseconds.
    If a different driver seems to be solving this, it is most likely the database ignores the milliseconds in the comparison, but the driver you are using sends the millisecond to the database incorrectly when binding.

  • How to change url of wsdl in weblogic 10.3

    Hello all. Now our team migrate big server application from JBoss to Weblogic 10.3.
    We have a lot of pure EJB3 web services (I mean web services implemented as Stateless beans)
    in EJB module (I.e. our services located in jar, not in war).
    We have no configuration files which described our services.
    For example we have service:
    @Stateless
    @WebService(endpointInterface = "com.softcomputer.totalqc.remotefacade.rich.browser.IBrowserWebService")
    @HandlerChain(file = "com/softcomputer/tqc/services/handler/authentifier-hc.xml")
    @CustomResolver
    public class BrowserWebServiceImpl implements IBrowserWebService
    // some methods
    By default JBoss map wsdl of this service to
    http://localhost:8080/TotalQCJPAApp-TQCServices/BrowserWebServiceImpl?wsdl
    where TotalQCJPAApp - is the name of ear file, TQCServices - name of jar file.
    but Weblogic map this service to another url:
    http://localhost:7001/BrowserWebServiceImpl/BrowserWebServiceImplService?WSDL
    And the question is: does have weblogic some config where we can simply define
    another url? For example we already migrated our project to OC4J and OC4J has such
    configs orion-web.xml and sun-jaxws.xml.
    I already spend near 5 hours to google some solution - but without result!
    It's very strange if weblogic do not have such simple feature..

    1) @WLHttpTransport
    We build our project using maven and do not want to have dependencies from code on weblogic specific libs.
    2) weblogic-webservices.xml
    When I create such decriptor weblogic start to ask that service defined in weblogic-webservices.xml should be also defined in webservices.xml, and webservices.xml have many obligatory fields, for example <port-component-name>, <wsdl-port>, <service-endpoint-interface>, <service-impl-bean> etc.. We don't want to redefine all this stuff! Only URL!!
    3) WebLogic Server - Web Services - I will try..

    I noticed this afternoon that Oracle's refering to Oracle WebLogic 10.3.1 as "Oracle WebLogic 11g".
    Know this comes as no surprise to you, but when I tried to install Oracle BPM 10gR3 Enterprise on WebLogic 11g (WebLogic 10.3.1) this afternoon it failed. A friend pointed out to me that Oracle WebLogic 11g does not support the DataDirect JDBC driver. Since Oracle BPM Enterprise 10gR3 uses this driver to connect to both its Engine database and Directory Service databases, he's thinking this might be the cause of our problem.
    It would be worth verifying this with Support. Here's what I think they'll point you to. The Oracle BPM 10gR3 release notes(http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13154_01/bpm/docs65/relnotes/release_notes_OracleBPM10gR3.htm#N65589) indicate that the only WebLogic application servers supported are Oracle WebLogic 10.3 (10gR3), Oracle WebLogic 10.0 MP1.
    Again, talk to Support, but I don't think there's a workaround. The only thing I think you can do is to uninstall WebLogic 10.3.1 and then install WebLogic 10.3 if you want to install Oracle BPM 10gR3 Enterprise on it.

    Hi Venu,
    Normally if you can see the UCM content in the admin console, it means the adapter is configured correctly and the placeholder should work. There's a couple of things I can suggest:
    1. Did you include the oracle-ucm-spi-app-lib.ear file in your project as documented under the heading Add a Reference to the UCM VCR Adapter Shared Library in the UCM VCR adapter installation docs ( [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13155_01/wlp/docs103/ucm_adapter/install.html|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13155_01/wlp/docs103/ucm_adapter/install.html] )?
    2. Browse to a document in the repository in the admin console. Pick one of the fields there (e.g. IDC:Folder.dDocId), grab the value and run a query using the placeholder. Do you get a single result?
    3. The original poster (user8867138) mentions a query along the lines of returning all folders that has dDocAuthor = sysadmin. If your UCM system had 10,000 folders all created by sysadmin, the adapter might be timing out? IIRC, you can adjust the timeout in UCM.
    4. Did you try a similar query using Content Selector instead?
    5. If the WLP server domain is running on a separate machine, is UCM configured to accept connections from the WLP server but not your machine?
    I would suggest getting the latest patches for WLP too as some of them are related to the UCM VCR adapter.
    Cheers,
    Cappa

  • Default namespace in WebLogic Workshop generated WSDL

    Hello there,
    I am trying to access a very simple webservice developed in WebLogic Workshop

    Sanjeev,
    The exception you mentioned about changing the namespace should not cause
    the behavior that you are noticing.
    The exception that you are receiving states that your ColdFusion application
    is not able to access the Workshop Web Service.
    Are both coldfusion and Workshop on the same physical machine ?
    If they are not on the same machine.
    Are you able to access the wsdl via a browser from the machine on which
    coldfusion installed ?
    The wsdl has an service name tag
    - <port name="SimpleTestSoap" binding="s0:SimpleTestSoap">
    <soap:address location=http://localhost:7001/Raj/SimpleTest.jws />
    </port>
    This address location is be default the machine on which this Web Service is
    built, and this defaults to localhost:7001.
    This entry can be modified by editing the weblogic-jws-config.xml file found
    in the WEB-INF/lib folder of the project.
    Can you make sure that address location contains the correct address and
    also check to see if the Web Service is available via any browser.
    Hope this help.
    Thanks

  • WebLogic looking for class file using the wrong case

    During my ant build, I precompile my JSPs using weblogic.jspc. All of the jars and wars are packaged into an ear and deployed to WebLogic 8.1 on Linux. When I access one of our normal screens, everything is good. Things go wrong when I try to access one of our help screens. We have a base help file that includes another file based on the screen code passed to it. The screen code is used in combination with a HashMap to look up the correct JSP to include. This part goes fine. But when the JSP is included, I get the following error. The best I can figure is that the class file is in mixed case (i.e., SampleHelp00.jsp and SampleHelp00.class), but Weblogic is looking for samplehelp00.class.
    I'm not even where I should begin looking to solve this. Anyone have any ideas?

    Ignore the part about precompiled JSPs being ignored on my development server. Turns out I had a stale cache. I cleared that out and now it recognizes the files.
    The problem with that, is now I'm getting an Error 500 when I try to access the page.

    The page in question is just a simple JSP using Struts (v 1.0.2) to call in a template.

    I passed the -keepGenerated flag to the precompile task in my Ant build so I could look at the line it's choking on, but it's not very helpful. I'm stuck. I can set up the build so it doesn't precompile the JSPs, but then the QA team wouldn't like me very much.

  • Convert weblogic.properties

    All,
    I'm trying to convert an existing 5.1 installation to 6.0 and am having a bit of difficulty with creating a new config.xml based on an existing weblogic.properties. Has anyone gone through this process yet? The documentation seems vague and incomplete (references things like "<insert-ref>").
    Also, the conversion html page/applets also seem very confusing. They present 2 list boxes that were created from your existing weblogic.properties file. These list boxes are labeled "server weblogic.properies" and "cluster weblogic.properies". Instead of containing discernable properties, they contain lists of directories. Selecting any of these directories will generally cause a conversion failure. Is this thing just not there yet, and should I be building up my own weblogic.properties/config.xml from scratch?
    I'd be interested in anyone else's experiences with these issues. TIA.

    Hi John,
    I'm trying to do conversion from WL 5.1 and as you just described it doesn't seem to work.
    Have you solved your problem? If yes, how did you do it?
    Thanks!

    How can I delete definition in Security Policy of ihale for an user that belonged to deleted LDAP authenticator?
    Could you please help to solve this problem?
    Best Regards.

    Hi,
    You can rename the ldap folder in following directory structure.
    %Domain_Name% / servers / <servername> / data/
    You will find ldap folder try to rename that folder and then please restart the server again.
    If you are try to start through nodemanager then rename the nodemanager under following directory.
    %Domain_Name% / servers / <servername> / data/.
    Try to rename these two folder and restart the nodemanager and start the server again.
    It will work for you.
