Hi All,
          <br>
          <br>
          My application was working fine on weblogic7. Recently i have installed weblogic8.1 SP4. We are using managed weblogic servers. I got noclassdeffounderror for a class on the deployment of the application or on the start one of the servers.
          <br>
          <br>
          <b>Strange thing is that the class it is complaining is there in the jar and the jar is there in the classpath which it displays along with the error.</b>
          <br>
          <br>
          I dont know why its not picking up that class. I verifed the classpath by setting it on command line and then tried to use that particular class and it was working.
          <br>
          <br>
          I also tried to put the particular class in web-inf/classes directory and to my surprise it is also not working. still it is giving the same error. Then I tried to put the jar in the web-inf/lib but even in this case also i got the same error.
          <br>
          <br>
          Is there something wrong in the setup/configuration of the server?? or is it anyway related to the environment(like xp,2000,environment variables etc) where the server is installed?? or is weblogic8.1 has some problem in picking classes form classpath or web-inf/classes/ for some particular cases??
          <br>
          <br>
          Anybody has any idea why weblogic8.1 is behaving this way??
          <br>

  • WebLogic 8.1 SP6 NoClassDefFoundError for jar in WEB-INF/lib dir (Solaris)

    Hi,
    I am getting a NoClassDefFoundError for a class that is contained in the WEB-INF/lib folder of my ear/war file.
    The strange thing is that this only fails when i try to deploy to production. In UAT (also on Solaris) and in Windows (test) the exact same versions of the deployment / ear file everything seems fine and the class is accessed.
    When i added the jar file to the classpath i experienced a "Unsupported major.minor version...." of this class error so i am reluctant to go down that route and anyway would rather consistent deployment between the systems.
    I would REALLY appreciate any suggestions as to what might be the cause or what i could try.
    Thanks,
    David

    Thanks for your replies. Sorry if i didn't post enough information for you...
    I appear to have found the problem (i managed to recreate in Windows) but have no idea why this is occuring.
    In the startManagedWebLogic.cmd file, if i specify "set JAVA_OPTIONS= xxxxxx" then the system will not pick up this one jar file. This appears to be the case even with "set JAVA_OPTIONS=-Dweblogic.attribute=value -Djava.attribute=value" which i assume is a default value as i can't remember having set it... The moment i comment out this set JAVA_OPTIONS line then the system is able to find the jar file.
    (Answering your questions:
    - The class in question is being referenced from another class also contained in a jar file in the WEB-INF/lib directory
    - the WEB-INF is part of the WAR which is contained in the EAR which is deployed on my server)
    For now i am ok but know that in a future build i am going to have to use the JAVA_OPTIONS parameter so would really appreciate any suggestions as to why this might be happening.
    Thanks,
    David

  • Web Dynpro Application throws NoClassDefFoundError for IAspect

    Hi All
    I decided to teach myself a little bit more about Web Dynpros and the Composite Application Framework and as such started working through SAP's tutorials. Currently I'm busy with 'Using a Composite Application via a Web Dynpro UI' - at the section where I need to programmatically populate a DropDownByKey with the location names. I followed the tutorial's instructions step for step, but after deploying and running my application I receive the following error message:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sap/tc/col/client/generic/api/IAspect
    Sometimes IAspect is replaced by IStructure.
    The detailed error provides this message:
    com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Failed to create delegate for component com.sap.carpool.travel.Travel. (Hint: Is the corresponding DC deployed correctly? Does the DC contain the component?)
    It seems as if it is struggling to find the DC containing IAspect and IStructure, but I have included
    tc/col/runtime (default)
    in the 'Used DCs' of my Web Dynpro DC.
    Any ideas what might be causing this or how to fix it?
    Thanks in advance,
    JP

    Hi Valery,
    Thanks for the reply.
    It seems like that to me as well. I can use the code as I've imported
    com.sap.tc.col.client.generic.api.IAspect;
    , but when it actually tries and load the implementation it can't find it?
    Unfortunately, checking the run-time (or build or deploy time) checkboxes on tc/col/runtime did not help.

  • CreateEntityManagerFactory throws NullPointerException for ejb3 jse client

    This question has been posted to the Toplink/jpa forum without any reply.
    Dear experts!
    I am trying to create a java standard edition client, to test outside the weblogic server, my ejb 3 entities, declared as shown in the following persistence.xml.
    The java code follows also. I have read about some relevant bugs in eclipselink back in 2006, or 7 or 8 and mostly unanswered threads :
    CreateEntityManagerFactory null pointer exception and
    Returned null to createEntityManagerFactory about tomcat and oc4j.
    Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory() throw NullPointerException in oc4j
    I am using JDeveloper 11g Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.3.0, Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.3.PS2_GENERIC_100408.2356.5660.
    Any helping hand available?
    Thank you very much in advance!

  • Weblogic 6.1sp2 custom exceptions being transformed to remoteexceptions

    Hi,
    We've recently ported our application from weblogic 6.0sp2 to weblogic 6.1sp2.
    In our ejbs we throw custom exceptions in our business logic, but somehow, in
    weblogic6.1sp2, these are being transformed into ejbexception/remoteexceptions.
    Do you have any ideas what we may be doing wrong?
    Thanks

    Thanks,
    we were doing that, but our custom exceptions were inheriting from RuntimeException
    instead of Exception which was the cause of the problem because weblogic 6.1 is
    more strict than weblogic 6.0.

    Hi Diana,
    Make sure your custom exceptions are declared in the throws clause of
    the

    in the
    throws clause of your interface methods, they will be wrapped in RemoteExceptions
    or EJBExceptions before being thrown to the client.

  • WebLogic Test Client,  throws java.lang.NoSuchMethodException

    In weblogic server 10.3, the  WebLogic Test Client,  throws java.lang.NoSuchMethodException for “any” soap fault message from the web  service.
    In Detail:
    Our web services uses JAX-WS spec and are deployed in WebLogic server 10.3.The web service ear file is generated using standard ant utility. We are using “WebLogic Test Client” available through WebLogic server administration console .The issue is, for “any” soap fault message from the web service, the test client generates “java.lang.NoSuchMethodException:” . The key point is we are creating this class. We are not using our own client. WebLogic Test Client 's service response section has the following stack trace.

    Thanks for your assistance. Here is the log from weblogic. You may find "xxx" and "yyy" terms. these are given to our specific project oriented names. If you need any further info please let me know. Again a brief about the issue. when the service returns a fault soap message, the server trying to set the error code in a class generated by it's own where the method is not avilable. this happens for all fault soap message. In case of right response from the service no issues. all are working fine.

  • Will weblogic support 2 Phase support for MDB (Container Managed)

    The Transaction is not rolling back when i am throwing an EJB exception during the update of the database
              Followed the below steps
              0) Created a XAConnectionPool (Oracle XA thin Driver)
              1) Created a DataSource for the above pool
              2) Created a QueueConnection factory with XA checked
              3) Deployed a MDB with Transaction Support as Required
              4) When the Database is throwing an exception the message is not rolled back /
              Any idea why this is happening?Will Weblogic 81 supports Container Management for MDB for 2PC transactions?
              i have Oracle driver in the weblogic start classpath and using getting the connection to the DB from the weblogic pool

    - Of course WebLogic supports 2PC - and has for years.
              - There's no need to configure a JMS connection factory - the MDB's default choice is transaction capable.
              - See MDB doc for details on how to configure transactional MDBs.
              (hint: two descriptor settings are required)
              http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/ejb/message_beans.html
              - FYI: You may want to consider upgrading to 9.1:
              * Can pause MDBs
              * Can pause destinations
              * Can view individual messages on the console
              * much higher file store performance
              * JDBC LLR option (faster than pure XA 2PC)
              * MDB transaction batching (speeds up XA - documentation is missing but will be in place soon)

  • Weblogic 6.0 SP1 upgrade for NT4.0 (wls60sp1_upgrade_win.exe) won't install!

    Hi,
    I'm trying to get the service pack SP1 ((wls60sp1_upgrade_win.exe)
    ) installed on my NT box. I have wls 6.0 installed and working.
    After unpacking and choosing my bea home directory (D:\bea), I
    get an error that says "Weblogic Server Service Pack 1 Installation
    failed. You do not seem to have Weblogic server 6.0 installed for
    BEAHOME D:\bea".
    But that is untrue. I DO have it installed in D:\bea, and I have
    the environment shell up by running setEnv.cmd and I invoked the
    service pack installer from within that shell.
    Is there anything I'm missing? Has anyone else encountered this
    problem? Any help with this would be much appreciated.

  • WebLogic 6.1 Oracle Driver for AIX size

    Can someone tell me the correct file size for the WebLogic 6.1 AIX driver
    for Oracle - oci816_8/libweblogicoci37.so ?
    I ask because our oci816_8 driver fails to load when making a connection
    pool, giving an UnsatisfiedLinkError, although all the paths are correct,
    but if I replace it with the oci817_8 driver, the oci817_8 driver loads OK,
    but gives (as expected) a DBMS driver exception. This suggests our oci816_8
    driver may be corrupt. The huge difference in the file sizes reinforces that
    idea:
    The file size on disk of our oci816_8 driver, which fails to load, is 197
    kb.
    The file size on disk of out oci817_8 driver, which loads OK, is 2.76 MB
    Dave

    Thanks to Kesava for the information we wanted. Looks like the driver is
    probably OK. However, no joy getting it to load. We will now try the Oracle
    drivers instead of the WebLogic drivers.

  • My problem in Weblogic and Message Driven Bean for Topic

    Hello to all
    I used this page (http://www.ecomputercoach.com/index.php/component/content/article/90-weblogic-jms-queue-setup.html?showall=1)
    for setup JMS Server, Queue, Connection Factory on Weblogic Server
    and I created a Message Driven Bean ,I used those Queue , and all things was OK
    But I wanted to setup a Topic and use it in this manner
    I created a Topic like previous steps for setup Queue
    (http://www.ecomputercoach.com/index.php/component/content/article/90-weblogic-jms-queue-setup.html?showall=1)
    Except in Step 3  ,I selected Topic instead of Queue
    then I created a Message Driven Bean in JDeveloper , my Message Driven Bean is like this:
    @MessageDriven(mappedName = "jndi.testTopic")
    <p>
    public class aliJMS1_MessageDrivenEJBBean implements MessageListener {

              System.out.println(txtM.getText());
            }catch(Exception ex){
              ex.printStackTrace();
    </p>
    When I deploy the Application , Weblogic shows me this error:

  • WAR deployed on 10.3.1.0 throws NoClassDefFoundError

    Hello,
    I made a little web application using NetBeans that contains a web service. Now I try to deploy this app on a Weblogic 10 server.
    The app is configured as JEE 5 app with JDK 5.
    On a Windows and Linux machine running version 10.3.3.0 it works fine.
    On a AIX machine running 10.3.1.0 I can deploy the app to Prepared state, but when I hit Start servicing all requests it throws this error:
    ava.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.sun.xml.ws.api.BindingID (initialization failure)
    I'm not very familiarized with Weblogic so does anybody knows what library it needs and where should I put it?
    Thanks!
    Adrian

    Solved by adding jaxws-rt-2.1.3.jar to
    /w01/oracle/bea/user_projects/domains/Domain/lib
    and
    /w01/oracle/bea/wlserver_10.3/server/bin

  • WebLogic 9.2 MP1 - NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/xml/domimpl/Saver

    Hello,
    I'm currently experiencing the following error in our production WebLogic environment. Curiously, the same WAR file deploys and works fine on our QA and STAGE servers. I must admit that my debugging knowledge of WebLogic is limited, but I have checked the obvious things (same version of WebLogic on all servers, same JAR files present on all, etc).
    The error occurs when trying to generate a WSDL for a web service. The error is as follows:

    Hey Sam,
    Are you using the same kinda startup means ?
    (NodeManager / Regular Scripts)
    If you created your application the same way on all environments, you could try to use the script from QA to production (means you'll have to do it by night :) ) or in the other way : try your production startup script in the QA env.
    Else, the good old-fashioned way : compare both config.xml with WinCompare or BeyondCompare or anything that does the job.
    Make also sure you don't have any XML Registry declared and that your domain/lib directories look alike.
    Hope this helps.

  • JFileChooser throws NoClassDefFoundError in constructor

    I have a commandline application that shows a dialog with a button. In case the button is clicked a JFileChooser shall be opened.
    This works perfectly when the application starts from my IDE or through a starter windows executable.
    But the purpose of this application is to be run from another (old) java application a a sysem process (Runtime.exec()). In this case the JFileChooser does not open but throws an Exception: Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class sun.awt.shell.Win32ShellFolder2

    The class having a problem is in rt.jar in the package 'sun.awt.shell' but the src.jar does not contain souce files for package 'sun'. Where can I find those sources?

    TPD

    I tried to change he JFileChooser to a FileDialog, but it'd the same problem.
    I figured out, that when failing the windows environment variables are almost empty. I found only 2 entries:    PATHEXT = .COM;.EXE;.BAT;.CMD;.VBS;.JS;.WS
        PROMPT = $P$G
        COMSPEC = C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.execould that be part of the problem?
