WebLogic Portal 10.3.2 EmbededLDAP Export Failed
New domain created in WebLogic Portal 10.3.2. 11g
In the Admin Servers log file, I see this error:
<Mar 1, 2010 7:06:23 PM CST> <Error> <EmbeddedLDAP> <BEA-000000> <Database Export Failed: null>
I don't see this in other domains, just this newly created one.
You may want to go to the domain (top of tree) in the admin console, then 'security', 'embedded LDAP' and play with the 2 options of "refresh replica at startup'" and "master first". I don't have enough info on what database is referring to or your configuration but these are areas you may want to look into.

Precompile of WebLogic Portal 'stockportal' example fails
I am trying to precompile a portal web application for WebLogic portal that is based
on the stockportal. Compilation fails with the message:
weblogic.servlet.jsp.JspException: (line 3): Could not parse deployment descriptor:
java.io.IOException: cannot resolve 'es.tld' into a valid tag library
at weblogic.servlet.jsp.JspLexer.jspException(JspLexer.java:782)
It appears that when precompiling, JSPC is not able to pull TLDs from a JAR file,
which is how the WebLogic Portal custom tags are specified in the portal web application
web.xml. It appears to work if I extract the TLD from the tag library JAR and reference
the extracted file, however I do not want to have to do this for the 20+ tag libraries
in WebLogic Portal. I've searched this site pretty thoroughly to no avail...is there
an easier workaround?
Thanks,
Andy
Hello Andy,
It appears that you have come across a known problem concerning precompiling
JSP's that are dependant upon tag libraries.
The good news is that a patch has been created to fix this issue.
I would suggest to open a case to our BEA Support and to precise the issue
number, which is : CR 55595.
The patch consists in a jar file that you have to put at the beginning of
your java class path.
I hope this helps,
Ludovic.

Failed in started weblogic portal 4.0 server

there is no such discussion. It says that weblogic support people should be able to assist for evaluating the problem. I am evaluating the problem seriously and I can not wait too long for the answer to get this fix. Otherwise we consider with other product such as: websphere or iplanet which we have evaluated the product and happy so far.
The error message I encounter is:

Please be patient.

I get the following error when I attempt to execute the Weblogic Portal 4.0.
I have a licensed version of WLS 6.1 SP2 also installed in the same machine
in the same dir. I also ran the license update routine. Can some offer
some advice?

Problem in creating a build.xml for weblogic portal application
Team ,
I am facing problem in creating the build.xml using weblogic.BuildXMLGEN tool .
a) Below is the structure of my portal application
SrcCode
--- .metadata (eclipse plugins folder)
--- B2BApp ( Ear Content)
--- b2bPortal ( portal related file(controllers,jsp)
--- b2bsrc (java src)
b) Now I executed below utility to generate the build.xml "
java weblogic.BuildXMLGen -projectName B2BApp -username weblogic -file build.xml -password welcome1 F:\srcCode"
c) Based on the above step , build.xml got generated .
d) when I execute "ant compile" target from the command prompt , I see the below exception
ant compile
Buildfile: build.xml
compile:
+[wlcompile] [JAM] Warning: failed to resolve class AbstractJspBacking+
+[wlcompile] [JAM] Error: unexpected exception thrown:+
+[wlcompile] com.bea.util.jam.internal.javadoc.JavadocParsingException: Parsing failure in F:\b2bNew\b2bPortal\src\portlets\b2b\dmr\Picker\PickerController.java at line 58.+
e) I suspect , the problem is bcoz of classpath issues , as I generated build.xml donot have the references to dependent lib's.As build.xml looks like below :
+<target name="compile" description="Only compiles B2BApp application, no appc">+
+<wlcompile srcdir="${src.dir}" destdir="${dest.dir}">+
+<!-- These referenced libraries were not found -->+
+<!-- <library file="p13n-core-web-lib" /> -->+
+<!-- <library file="jersey-web-lib" /> -->+
+.....+
+....+
Please help me to reslove these issues .
PS: I able to deploy the application using 10.3.2 weblogic workshop ( i.e inbuilt eclipse )i JaySen ,
thanks for your response. As mentioned we added all the necessary library within the -librarydir but still we see the same error :
+[JAM] Error: unexpected exception thrown:+

a) this is a upgrade project [ upgrading from wlp 8.1.4 to 10.3.2 ]
i.e we are using weblogic portal 10.3.2 version.
b) Searched some sites/forums regarding the above error, and it says something related to "jwsc" ant task [ i.e while compiling a webservice(JWS) ], but we see this error while compiling a normal controller(jpf) class :(
c) we are using "ant compile" target which internally calls wlcompile task , while executing wlcompile this error is thrown .

I created a client from the above wsdl file using ClientGen wizard in WebLogic. This client contains the follwoing classes-
Echo.java
EchoService.java
EchoService_Impl.java
Echo_Stub.java
I created a JSP portlet and the jsp content of it is-
String url = "http://localhost:8080/SOATest/services/Echo";
Echo echo = new EchoService_Impl(url).getEcho();
getNumsResponse = echo.getNums(getNums);
I tried to call that web service from BEA weblogic portal through a JSP potlet. I got an error saying -

My web service is using soap binding. I have tested it with eclipse and other tools also. It is working well and good. But when I tried to call a web service which is created and hosted on WebLogic server(running on port : 7001), I got the correct output.
Can anyone help me out in calling a web service hosted on different server from WebLogic server.
Thanks in advance,
Tiijnar

1. The way you are invoking the WebService deployed on Tomcat server is looks suspicious. It may be valid by adding extra ?wsdl etc into the url, but still I have not seen this way to invoke the webservice.
2. So you used Weblogic ant task to generate client JARs by giving this WSDL. So looks like it generated the 4 classes (.java) and in addition any other classes for Request/Response xml objects.
3. Look at the source code of EchoService.java. It should have one default empty constructor. Internally it uses the default wsdl defined in this class. You will see another constructor that takes WSDL URL as one of the parameters (QName) etc. Echo.java is the class corresponding to the Port. In the same EchoService you should see an instance method like getEcho() something like that. This Echo.java class will have methods for all the Operations defined on this Port. So the standard code snippet we use most of the times will be like this:
EchoService myEchoService = new EchoService(); // Default it uses WSDL deployed on Tomcat at localhost:8080
Echo myEchoPort = myEchoService.getEchoPort(); // Something along these lines.
myEchoPort.xxxYYY(); // NOW this is the operation name that takes the input parameters and returns outputs defined as per the WSDL defintions. If the Input and Outputs are complex xml types, it will have corresponing .JAVA files with setters and getters.
Now if this WebService is deployed on same Tomcat but on different machine or different port, you just give the full WSDL URL with that host and port in the constructor for new EchoService(...). You may need to instantiate QName object. But look at the methods generated in EchoService.java class.
The way you are using with Impl and Stubs class may also work. I am not much famiiar with this APIs apporach. Still look at the methods generated in these classes.
Also if you latest Sun JDK 1.6, it also has one command like wsimport. Infact if you install WLS 10.3 with Sun JDK, it should have C:\beawlp103\jdk160_05\bin\wsimport command. This will also generate client jar given a WSDL URL.
Thanks

Errors in Weblogic server log for Weblogic Portal
Hi,
I apologize if the question has been posted and answered.. I had searched but couldn't find anything in this forum.
My post is a bit lengthy as I will be providing as much details as possible.. sorry about that.. :)
I am new to Weblogic server and Weblogic Portal.. in fact I have never worked on portals. I have installed the Weblogic Portal 10.3.2 along with the Weblogic. I have used quickstart to create a domain. There I have configured the following data sources:
appsGroupSpaceDataSource
cgDataSource
cgDataSource-nonXA
p13nDataSource
portalDataSource
portalDataSourceAlwaysXA
portalDataSourceNeverXA
My database is oracle 11g. I have created a user and granted the user all the admin roles and priviledges
The database connection test had worked for all the sources except appsGroupSpaceDataSource where the test query SELECT COUNT(*) FROM SYSTABLES failed as there was no such table in the database.
I had run the following scripts:
Drop/Create Groupspace Database Objects (appsGroupSpaceDataSource )
Drop/Create P13N Database Objects (p13nDataSource)
Drop/Create Content Database Objects (p13nDataSource)
Drop/Create Portal Database Objects (p13nDataSource)
There were no scripts to run for the other data sources.
After installation whenever I am starting the admin server I am seeing this error in the console:
<Sep 17, 2010 12:48:05 PM IST> <Error> <JDBC> <BEA-001112> <Test "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM SYSTABLES" set up for pool "appsGroupSpaceDataSource" failed with exception: "java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
".>
<Sep 17, 2010 12:48:05 PM IST> <Error> <JDBC> <BEA-001112> <Test "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM SYSTABLES" set up for pool "cgDataSource" failed with exception: "java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
".>
<Sep 17, 2010 12:48:06 PM IST> <Error> <JDBC> <BEA-001112> <Test "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM SYSTABLES" set up for pool "cgDataSource-nonXA" failed with exception: "java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
".>
<Sep 17, 2010 12:48:06 PM IST> <Error> <JDBC> <BEA-001112> <Test "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM SYSTABLES" set up for pool "p13nDataSource" failed with exception: "java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
".>
<Sep 17, 2010 12:48:07 PM IST> <Error> <JDBC> <BEA-001112> <Test "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM SYSTABLES" set up for pool "portalDataSource" failed with exception: "java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
".>
And the errors are happening in an infinite loop....
I checked and there is no table created in that name in the database.. and being totally new to weblogic I am not sure where else to check.
It would be great if some one could help me track the cause and resolve this..
Thanks a lot for reading the long post.. and double thanks for a reply.. :)
Edited by: 795423 on Sep 17, 2010 12:17 AMI digged in the weblogic installation directory and it seems like the domain configuration wizard messed up the jdbc configs for the data sources.
The config xml files for the data sources in the /domain root/config/jdbc directory had oracle driver but the test query was for pointbase. I double checked from the database.xml file in the init-info directory and corrected the entry in the datasource config xmls and voila!.. the errors were gone.
I am not sure if this was the right approach and whether i have solved the issue or simply patched it.. so I am keeping the question open. If any one has any inputs I will be grateful.
If the mods/admins feel that the thread should be marked as solved I will surely do so.
Thanks. -
Error in domain creation in weblogic portal 10.3.4
Hi,
I am new to portal development. I've installed weblogic portal 10.3.4. I have created a domain and while creation, it asked for datasource selection, I changed the default data source(Derby) to Oracle. All the connection test were successful. I changed the URL in config.xml to jdbcracle:thin:@IP:PORT:SERVICE. But when I start the server, gives the following error. When I choose the default datasource(Derby), It's working fine.
Please help...

Issue in packing Weblogic portal domain
Hi Guys,
I am trying to pack my domain from HOST A using command :
pack -managed=true -domain=C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\Edlink -template=C:\Oracle\edlink.jar -log=c:\oracle\edlink.log -template_name="template_name"
and wants to unpack it on HOST B
But I am able to see below errors in my pack log file:

FYI: I am using webLogic Portal 10.3.2 generic
with MS SQL Server 2008 R2 64-bit
on MS windows 2008 R2 server
solution to this post would be really appreciable.
Thanks
PunitAre you trying to upgrade your portal domain from 10.3.2 to 10.3.6 ?
If yes then you need to use the Weblogic upgrade wizard.
Perform the following steps to upgrade your portal domain:
Verify that the WebLogic domain is not running.
Upgrade the portal domain using the WebLogic Upgrade Wizard before you upgrade your portal application. To start the WebLogic Upgrade Wizard in graphical mode and upgrade a WebLogic domain on a Windows platform, run upgrade.cmd from the<WLPORTAL_HOME>\common\bin directory
Note:Do not use the menu option Start > All Programs > Oracle Products > WebLogic Server 10.x > Tools > Domain Upgrade Wizard. This launches the WebLogic Server domain upgrade wizard. -

I just read this thread: Re: Problem starting maneged server FAILED_NOT_RESTARTABLE , but I didn't find any solution to my problem. I really hope that someone can help me, because right now I'm really desperate and hopeless.
This is my first Oracle Weblogic Portal/Server 10.3 installation.
I haven't seen this kinds of problems with Bea Weblogic Portal 8.1.6 and my remotestart configurations are very similar between the 8.1 and 10.3 installations.

Setting up the Weblogic portal with Oracle Database
I am creating weblogic portal domain using oracle database
a) At the “configure JDBC Data Source “ I have changed all database sources to oracle and before this I have created the weblogic/weblogic user id and required tables spaces also
1) cgDataSource
2) cgDataSouce –nonXA
3) p13nDataSource
4) portalDatasource
5) portalDataSourceAlwaysXa
6) portalDataSourceNeverXa
b) Test JDBC Data Source
for all the data sources test has passwd
c) Run the database scripts run and created the objects
and when I try to start startWebLogic.sh from portal domain
I got the below errors looking for <Test "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM SYSTABLES"

Weblogic portal schema migration
Could someone provide a best practices document on migrating a weblogic portal schema from one server to another ? or will an import /export suffice
Hi sarvesh610,
I was looking for a migration guide from WLP 4 to 8.1 as i need to estimate such a migration for our customer site, are you able to provide such a guide? Seems you have managed quite well with that ;-) .
TIA,

Weblogic portal 10.3.4 Domain creation issue
Hi All,
I have created the weblogic portal 10.3.4 domain with Oracle Data Base for the following connection pools (cgDataSource-jdbc.xml, cgDataSource-nonXA-jdbc.xml, p13nDataSource-jdbc.xml, p13nProfileDataSource-jdbc.xml, portalDataSourceAlwaysXA-jdbc.xml, portalDataSource-jdbc.xml, portalDataSourceNeverXA-jdbc.xml).
After creating the domain ran the create_db.cmd in windows, It created a folder weblogic_eval. I have started the service startDerby.cmd.
When i am trying to start the weblogic server its throwing me below exception.
FYI My apache Derby DB is running on port 1527

Any help is really appreciated.
Thanks,
Ram.Are you intending to use Oracle DB or Derby DB? If you intend to use Oracle, then you need to modify the connection information for the RDBMS Security Store. This is another step in the Domain Configuration Wizard, per release note 13371687.
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E26806_01/wlp.1034/e14247/relnotes.htm#CJAEGAGD
If you follow this, you don't need to configure or start Derby DB.

Weblogic Portal 9.2 Startup Error - Linux
Hi all, Thanks in advance for help in resolving this critical situation.
Installed is Weblogic Portal 9.2 on a Ubuntu [Debian] Linux workstation. When I create a portal environment using default Configuration Wizard settings, ./startWeblogic.sh executes and I am able to reach the cosole without problems.
As soon as I try to customize the configuration using Oracle drivers and corresponding username/password, I see an alert that reads:
<b>This domain is configured to use the SQL authenticator security provider. You must load database tables in the "Run Database Scripts" panel or load the tables manually after completing the wizard using the SQL file located at ~/bea920/user_projects/domains/pDomain/security/SQLAuthenticator.sql</b>
I click 'OK'. And 'Done'.
When I attempt to start Weblogic, it fails with the following stacktraces:

Here is what i have tried:
1. altered the username and password in boot.properties
2. deleted boot.properties and manually entered the username and password at WLS startup [as seen in the stacktrace].
3. created a default-settings portal environment that started weblogic, then used the console to chenge the settings to my customized values. Restarted the server and it failed with the same stacktraces.
Please please help. Our team has exhausted its knowledge of trouble shooting this situation. This forum is my next to last result.
Thanks again.
BartoszI too was facing this problem initially but on windows machine. This problem occurs because p13nDataSource is not configured and its still pointing to the POINTBASE data base. Point it to Oracle database and then test the connection. Once the Connection Test is sucessful go to Run Database Script. Select the correct version of Oracle i.e. 8i, 9i or 10g. Then select on DataSource from in the top left corner. Only two DataSource needs to be configured. cgDataSource-nonXA and p13nDataSource.Select these Data Source one after another and Run the scripts once this is done u can configure the WLI Domain.
This is done once configuring the WLI Domain.
I would post the corrective measure for the Domain which has been already created. If the issue is blocking u can create a new domain:-) -
Deploying JSR-168 portlets error in Weblogic Portal 9.2MP2
Hello,
We're using WebLogic 9.2MP2 and ALBPM 5.7 SP2 enterprise server standalone. We want display in our portal the In-Box to the user as a JSR-168 portlet.
We are following the steps in the following guide:
http://edocs.bea.com/albsi/docs57/adminguide/jsr-168/ad_jsr168_wl92_deployingalbpmjsr168portlets.htm
but when we try to add a new remote producer using the WebLogic Portal Administrator Console we get this error ( in the "Find producer" step):
com.bea.jsptools.portal.helpers.wsrp.AddProducerControlException: java.rmi.RemoteException: Remote method invocation failed: weblogic.xml.crypto.wss.WSSecurityException: Unable to add security token for identity.; nested exception is:
