Weblogic Portal 10.3 Asynchronous desktop Maximize portlet breaks EXT JS

Hi,
We have enabled Asynchronous desktop & using maximize/restore feature for portlets. We are extensively using EXT JS in our application. Page loads fine when its refreshed but when we use maximize ( url is placed within bea.wlp.disc.xie._service.update), EXT JS is not able to load.
If we switch back to Asynchronous mode as portlet, URLs are not surrounded by bea.wlp.disc.xie._service.update & maximize works as expected.
has anyone faced this issue? Any suggestions will be great.
Thanks
Tejal

  • Weblogic Portal 10.3.5 - JSR-168 Portlet resize at runtime by the users

One of the requirement I'm trying to develop in WLP 10.3.5 for JSR-168 Portlet is to give the end user the flexibilty to resize (Just like we can do in Iframe in IE) it in runtime. Is it possible to do this ?
Any helpful link / pointers are welcome.

    Hi,
Could someone pls explain which cache is used to cache portlet content and in which form the content is cached?

  • Weblogic Portal 10.3.5 using JSF 1.2 portlets with ADF faces

We are developing Portal site using Weblogic Portal 10.3.5 with JSF portlet 1.2 and ADF faces (ADF Application runtime 11.1.1.5 ). But the JSF portlets not supporting ADF faces. Please let me know how we use ADF faces in JSF portlet 1.2 in Weblogic Portal.

    Hi Murthy,
    We did a detailed analysis.
    (1) How do we add ADF taskflows, JSF in to weblogic portal desktop/pages? Do we create portlet out of JSF, and display on desktop/page? If this is the case, what about ADf task flows?
--> Taskflows can be deployed as WSRP2.0 portlets. Note 2 options are there JSF page as portlet or taskflow itself as portlets.
    (2) How do we integrate weblogic user profiles and UUP (unified user profiles) with ADF and JSF?
--> ADF Security can use Weblogic Server realm as the security provider. Entitlements in WLP will have to be provided based on Weblogic Server roles. In case you are using external LDAP then both can be integrated withe external LDAP
    (3) Can anybody shed some light which this better?
    (a) weblogic portal with JPF (Java page flows), NetUI --Legacy approach
    Pros:
    -Easy Development
    -Well tested integrated
    Cons:
    -Future support
    -Enhancements may not be available
-Not really portable or standards based
    (b) weblogic portal with ADF, JSF?
    Pros:
-If your on Oracle stack then great
    -Standards based
    Cons:
    -JSF Portlet bridge issues
-ADF Faces does not work on IE6!
Well what we are going for is JSR 286, Trinidad components (Supports IE6), JSF.
    Difficult choice.

  • Need to add as a WSRP Connection in JDev for Weblogic Portal JSF Portlets.

I am trying to register WLP 10.3.4 JSF Portlets as a WSRP connection in JDev Webcenter 11.1.1.6 Portal Framework application . The below are steps:
-Created Simple WLP Application with JSF Portlets and deployed them on WLS 10.3.4 domain.
-The WSDL url available is http://localhost:7003/TEST_WEB_PORTAL/producer?wsdl
-Now Open JDev and created WCP Framwork app
-Under Application Resource, right click on Connections -> New Connection -> WSRP Producer.
-Click Next on step1 -> Enter WSDL URL on Step 2 and then click next on next 3 screens.
-It tries to register but ended up with below exception:

    Hi,
I tried creating a simple JSF portlet and I can able to register and it is working Fine, but my teammet got the same issue like you :) . While Analyzing what I found is , the location where we created the portlet in weblogic portal. If you created your portlet directly under WebContent folder then this issue is coming up, so try to create the portlet in a folder inside the WebContent folder, say create a folder with name portlets under webcontent and create the JSF portlet inside that portlets folder.
Now start the server and register the same in WebCenter, you will not get that exception. I am going to raise a ticket with Oracle about this issue and get the root cause.
    Thanks

  • How to hide the menus in Weblogic Portal?

I have to develop a page in Weblogic Portal 10.0 that uses a portlet for the UI presentation.
I have a requirement that the page is hidden by default. When I navigate to the page by selecting a link, I have to display the contents in that page. While displaying I should hide the portal level menus of other books/pages. But I have to display other contents like logo, etc.
Can some one please help me on how to hide the menus in the selected page?
Edited by: [email protected] on Apr 19, 2010 3:43 AM

As a quick and dirty solution i would edit the navigation jsps (singlelevel/multilevel/yourcustom menu jsp) and disable the navigation for all hidden pages.
Or create a backing file and dynamically change the navigation state on the desktop when the hidden page is requested.
Or have the page in a different portal file if possible and set the same header and footer there as well.
Or You could have a look at the detached portlets. These are used as popups often.

    Hi Vinod,
We are facing issues with CPS with weblogic portal 10.3.
We have installed CPS producer as an EAR in weblogic and consumer as another EAR in weblogic portal. So while accessing the portlet from consumer side we are getting the error 'You are not currently logged in, please login to the Portal'.
I guess this is a problem with the SSO. Is there any way to specify the user name and password in some configuration file. In our case we are using the same user name and password as the UCM in weblogic portal.
While accessing the portlet we are getting the following log message at the console.

  • Ajax Compatibility with Weblogic Portal 10.3.2

    Hi,
I'm developing a POC for a large project. We plan to use Ajax functionality in weblogic portal 10.3.2 using Jsf portlets. I'm getting alot of compatibility issues using Jsf libraries like IceFaces or RichFaces. I've even removed the jsf bridge from the workshop and try to make it work but it throws alot of exceptions.
Is there any good Ajax library that works well in weblogic portal 10.3.2 environment ?
Oracle allows Jsf portlets to be created but does not provide any clear direction on Ajax compatibility. The base jsf components are not good enough to buid an enterprise level application.
DAMM .. dev2dev is also down.
    Help would be appreciated.
    Regards

I worked through the document referenced in the previous post and I still cant get Open Faces ajax to work.
    I keep getting
java.lang.ClassCastException: com.bea.portlet.container.ResourceRequestImpl cannot be cast to javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest errors.
The last thing I tried was to extract the javascript into a resources folder and declared it as a render dependency to the portlet, but that is giving me some issues too.
Another issue I get is Perm Gen out of memory about every 3 redeploys.
I know the library I am using uses a ton of AJAX for the cool form widgets it has, so rewriting the AJAX calls is not an option.

  • Problems with Inter-Portlet Communication in Weblogic Portal 10.3

    Hi,
I'm developing a web application using Weblogic Portal 10.3.
The requirement is that the work requests have to be stored in a workbasket which can be submitted by the user at the end.
The user can create multiple request of same form.
Consider a scenario that the user creates 5 instances or work request in a single form. No he moves back to the 2nd request and modifies it. While modifying the 2nd request a validation message is thrown. Now the user navigates to Workbasket directly by selecting the Workbasket from the menu item.
Now when the user selects any one of the 5 requests, he is able to view the same validation message which is thrown as said in the above scenario. This is happening only when the user navaigates from the workbasket. If the user switches between the request, the problem is not simulated.
Someone please help me how this can be avaoided.
    More Information:
    Weblogic Portal 10.3
    JSF 1.2
    Spring
Message is thrown using the FacesMessage in JSF and is displayed in the screen using the following JSF tag.
    <h:messages globalOnly="true" rendered="#{! empty facesContext.maximumSeverity}" styleClass="liststylenone"/>

    Hi,
Could someone pls explain which cache is used to cache portlet content and in which form the content is cached?

  • Error deploying ALBPM portlets in WebLogic Portal

Hi, I have a problem when I try to deploy ALBPM workspace portlets in WebLogic Portal
    <28/01/2009 18h11min47s BRST> <Error> <HTTP> <BEA-101214> <Included resource or file "/workspaceWeb/framework/skeletons/text/flowlayout.jsp" not found from requested resource "/workspaceWeb/BPMPortal.portal".>
I copied framework folder into web project but the problem persists. I've used the WLP 10.1. This could be a version issue?

    Hi,
I see this messages below of ActionsMenu, Worklist and InstanceDetail portlets. The URL generated first is:
    http://localhost:7001/workspaceWeb/BPMPortal.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=BPMPortal_portal_page_7
but when I type this URL in browser, is "redirected" to the following:
    http://localhost:7001/workspaceWeb/BPMPortal.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=BPMPortal_portal_page_7*#wlp_BPMPortal_portal_page_7*
and the '404' pages are shown
I'm using BPM Enterprise for WebLogic Server 604 build 94433

  • Announcing: Developing JSF Portlets with WebLogic Portal Whitepaper

Just Released: Developing JSF Portlets with WebLogic Portal Whitepaper
A supplemental developer's guide has been published to help guide WLP 10.x customers that wish to use JSF as the web framework for building portlets on WebLogic Portal. This is a sizable document (150 pages) that covers a large number of topics. It also coaches developers on best practices and common pitfalls.
Important: It also clarifies the supported configuration of JSF within Portal Web Projects. Workshop for WebLogic by default configures a web project in a configuration that is not supported by WebLogic Portal. The guide explains how to address this:
    * Change from the unsupported MyFaces JSF implementation to the supported Sun Reference Implementation (RI)
    * Change from the unsupported "client" STATE_SAVING_METHOD to the supported "server"
The guide can be downloaded here:
    http://download.oracle.com/technology/products/weblogic/portal/weblogic-portal-jsf-whitepaper.pdf

    Hi Peter!
First, I wish to thank you for the great work.
We followed your whitepaper and managed to deploy a JSF portlet on WLS.
But we are not able to register it (consume it) as remote portlet in Oracle Portal 10.1.4. The error log is as follows:
An error occurred while trying to refresh the provider. (WWC-43190)
An error occurred during the call to the WSRP Provider:
