Weblogic.security.internal.encryption.EncryptionServiceException: Error decrypting Secret Key
Hi all,
I have one admin server 8 managed servers in cluster environment. I am using node
manager to start managed servers. I used the demo certificate and private key
file provided by BEA before getting my real certificate, but when I got the real
certificate the node manager can't no more. The error I am getting is this :
<Dec 24, 2002 10:01:27 AM EST> <Info> <NodeManager> <NodeManager: for information

Hi,
I am wondering if anyone has tried creating a domain on a weblogic server by copying
and pasting an entire domain directory. ie. Copying %bea_home%\config\DomainName
to the new installation %bea_home%\config\DomainName.
When I do this I get the following error when starting up the weblogic server:
"The WebLogic Server did not start up properly. Exception raised:
weblogic.security.internal.encryption.EncryptionServiceException:Error decrypting
Secret Key" when loading config.xml
I assume this is because the weblogic system password is encrypted in the config.xml
file. Is there anyway I can get around this so I can easily clone weblogic servers?
Thanks,
JasJas,
Yeah the security key is tied to the server, what exactly are you
trying to accomplish? Do you want seperate domains or servers? Are
they on different physical servers?
Also what version of wls? 6 or 7?
Will try to help you if I can

2. My SOA server is coming up but in admin mode and giving OPSS connections errors.
Any help is really appreciated!
Thanks,
SKHi Faisal -
is your domain in development mode or production mode?
- While configuring my domian , I had selected Prod Mode, but pon start up when I see in admin server console, it is starting in developement mode already ?
Any idea how, why ?
if its production mode you can switch to development mode, change all the credentials in the config.xml and configurations under sub folders to cleartext and start the server..
- Let me still try these and get back to you.
Thanks,
SK -

Thanks,
Sunil.Yes we realize that we should not be using the simulator; however the customer needs to get some test transactions sent to the authorizer before a certification blackout.
We identified the issue as a problem between the POS client and POS server where the new v13.3 password phrase for the simulator did not match. We updated the values to match in the application.properties file and it resolved the problem.
Thank you for your input though. -

Do you have SerializedSystemIni.dat and fileRealm.property from any other

Please try to replace both of them and see if this fixes the problem.

Hi guys,
I installed webloigic 12.1.1 on windows 2003(32-bit);
I was requested add SSL Configuration to console;
I'm using keytool; It is not first time I setup SSL on weblogic console, only version is different;
before I did susssessfully on weblogic 11g(10.3.2-10.3.5) using the same scenario;
My steps:
1.generate key;
keytool -keyalg RSA -genkey -v -alias <server_name> -keysize 2048 -storepass <pwd> -validity 762 -keystore <name>.jks
2. create cert
keytool -certreq -alias <server_name> -file file_name.csr -keystore <name>.jks
after send and return certificate 3 layers;
imported back;
--root--
keytool -importcert -v -noprompt -alias rootca.kbr.com -file root0.cer -keystore <name>.jks -trustcacerts
Enter keystore password:
Certificate was added to keystore
[Storing <name>.jks]
keytool -importcert -v -noprompt -alias rootca1.kbr.com -file root1.cer -keystore <name>.jks -trustcacerts
Enter keystore password:
Certificate was added to keystore
[Storing <name>.jks]
keytool -importcert -v -noprompt -alias <server_name> -file root2.cer -keystore <name>.jks -trustcacerts
Enter keystore password:
Certificate reply was installed in keystore
[Storing <name>.jks]
confufigured weblogic using conosole;
it looks like this in config.xml file

Weblogic.security.ldaprealm.LDAPException
hi all,
i'm trying to authenticate users/groups with weblogic 6.0sp2 against iplanet 5.0
on an nt operating system.
from time to time weblogic server is throwing exceptions like the one below:
weblogic.security.ldaprealm.LDAPException: search error: user xyz - with nested
exception:
[javax.naming.ServiceUnavailableException: server:389; remaining name 'ou=People,dc=comp,dc=com']
The App is reconnecting and able to get the connection, but those exceptions are
thrown on a very frequent basis.Any ideas what causes this behaviour?
Your help is very much appreciated.
mdheurweblogic.security.ldaprealm.LDAPException: search error: user xyz - withnested
>
From the API,
This exception is thrown when attempting to communcate with a directory or
naming service and that service is not available. It might be unavailble for
different reasons. For example, the server might be too busy to service the
request, or the server might not be registered to service any requests, etc.

hi
friends
i amdeveloping internet based application .
i want to Encrypt the data using Secret key .but what is maxi size of data transfer of that key.
any hint about encrypting the data.?
or any better method for fast encryption method tell me ?
thanksThe size of the data block that you can encrypt depends on the size of the encryption key and the nature of the encryption algorithm.
A block cypher such as RSA will only allow you to encrypt a block of data. A streaming cypher such as RC4 will encrypt as much data as you need, using (iirc) a passphrase that is cycled in order to encrypt the data. Obviously the longer the passphrase the better the security of the stream cypher.
I suggest you read the javax.crypto API documentation.

Weblogic.security.Encrypt -and- Not enough space
This post has two questions.
I have a simple application on wls9.2 that is a web front end to the weblogic.security.Encrypt command line utility. It seems to work fine, but after a little bit of use I am seeing the following:

1) Here is the forking code:
try {
proc = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("java -Dweblogic.RootDirectory="+rootDir+" weblogic.security.Encrypt "+password);
BufferedReader bf=new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(proc.getInputStream()));
line=bf.readLine();
bf.close();
} catch (IOException e) {
Is there a better way to do this, without forking? Seems odd to execute a java call, in java, just to get the encrypted string. I'd like to call weblogic.security.Encrypt inline, but have been unable to do so.
2) Why would the Not enough space error creep up? Researching it, it seems like it is a swap problem, but that does not seem to be the case on our system. A top shows:
Memory: 8192M phys mem, 2769M free mem, 5004M swap, 5004M free swap
at the time of failure. Disk usage is looking great as well. The JVM heapsize is around 80% free. An lsof on the system shows about 150 open files on the managed server.
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this would be appreciated.
ThanksI use CCleaner from the AppStore to delete the 'useless' stuff. It's free and works great for me

Please help.
thanks in advanceI've tried every trick in the book but no luck and finally I found a solution for this problem. Maybe it is not the best practice but it works:
1-Uninstall JDeveloper.
2-Delete Oracle Middleware file located in C:\Oracle
3-Delete the JDeveloper file located in C:\Users\MyUser\AppData\Roaming (Because the integrated Weblogic server is actually there)
4-Reinstall JDeveloper
That solved the issue.
Thanks -
Weblogic.security.Encrypt
Have been a long time user of weblogic security So far it always used 3DES
Recently with 11gR1 (we are using Weblogic Portal which internally uses weblogic Server Securiy)
I went into the domain directory
typed
java weblogic.security.Encrypt mypass
Got back a encrypted string which is AES encrypted
type the same command Again after 1 minute
Got back a different string which is AES encrypted
In previous release I never saw this. We are using bundled jrockit on Red hat 5.3 as the OS here
I was expecting the utility to always return the same encrypted password every time I run it ? Not sure if this is a bug or just the way AES encryption behaves
Which encrypted password should I use in the jdbc config.xml ?
Is there a way to use 3DES versus AES (some switch which controls this behavior at server level)
Thanks
Yeshits an expected behavior that you dont see the same encrypted string as a dynamic vector is used as the hash value.
Since hash is different all the time, encrypted string is different.
You can use both AES/DES without a problem. -

krishnaThis error line does hint that you do have the required JARs in the classpath but there may be version different. If jar is missing you would have NoClassDefFound Error. But it say method signature not found. May be the jar that you are using do not have this method. Try using other version of the jar. Incase if you have like any java decompiler, you can always open this .class file and see if this method signature exists in that class.
Caused by: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.objectweb.asm.ClassVisitor.visit(IILjava/lang/String;Ljava/lang/String;[Ljava/lang/String;Ljava/lang/String;)V
I do not know anything about asm, but just incase if this class happens to exist in any other package also but with different APIs (older versions) and you are referring them first. Usually this happens if we have same class with diff versions in diff jars and the order in which this class gets loaded. So if you have this same class but latest version put those JARs in the first before asm jars. You gave list of some packages, put the asm package in the end and see if that helps. Its just a hint as we do run into these kind of issues specially with diff version os Struts jars that we use everyday with weblogic.

Hi folks,
I'm not especially proficient with Weblogic, I haven't really done any development
with it but I am a little familiar with configuring some pieces. Bearing this
in mind, what follows is pretty sparse on details.
My department has two deployments of the same application but one works and one
doesn't. The error is below:

I'm not hoping that from this VERY limited information anybody can offer a solution,
I'm not expecting that, I'm just hoping that someone can point me in a general
direction i.e. the ACLS are corrupt, or something like that. Sorry for the lack
of details. I'm testing the back end application and our front end app cannot
see the back end, I've been tasked to find out why.
Cheers, Max
me again. :-) I just wanted to add that I posted this in the jms forum because
the back/front ends communicate over JMS.

Weblogic.security.acl.internal.AuthenticatedSubject not resolved
Hi guys,
when I try to implement that code:
CallbackHandler handler = new URLCallbackHandler(username,
password);
Subject mySubject =
weblogic.security.services.Authentication.login(handler);
weblogic.servlet.security.ServletAuthentication.runAs(mySubject, request);
// Where request is the httpservletrequest object.
in my servlet I get that issue in workshop 9.2:
The type weblogic.security.acl.internal.AuthenticatedSubject cannot be resolved. It is indirectly
referenced from required .class files
Any idea??
Thanks a lot
L.solved!

I guessing you mispelled ejb20.jar - - you need to include this at the front of
your java.class.path in your WLS 6.0 startup script
