Weblogic server 10gR3: regarding _wl_cls_gen.jar in the lib directory

When I deploy my war file to a newly created Weblogic 10 server my WEB-INF/classes directory is packed into WEB-INF/classes/_wl_cls_gen.jar which is causes problems with my resources.
Is there a way where i can tell the Servier not to wrap the classes folder into a jar file...
Any help would would be appreciated...

I too have the same problem with the wlcls_gen.jar
Any ideas about how to make things like resources available from here? This all works fine if I manually go in and extract this jar back into the WEB-INF/classes directory.
Can I turn off this wlcls_gen.jar from being created?

  • Oracle WebLogic Server 10gR3 Installation Query

    I have Windows 7 (64-bit OS) & i'd like to install Oracle WebLogic Server 10gR3 (i know it's not the newest).
    Would you please provide me with a link for downloading the suitable Weblogic Server package & net installer?

    Hi
    Yes, you should download Weblogic Server 10.3.3 Generic Installer which is like a .JAR file (sometimes .zip but rename as .jar file). In the below link, for weblogic server 10.3.3 row, on right side, click on + icon (See All Files). There in the last column you will see 64 bit installer (wls1033_generic.jar).
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/wls-main-097127.html
    Just refer online docs for 64 bit installation. Make sure that first you download 64 bit jdk (Sun or JRockit). Set this in PATH. When you run java -version, it should refer this 64 bit jdk. Then run command like java -d64 -jar wls1033_generic.jar (if -d64 do not work, try -D64). Basically generic installer for 64 bit will not have any JDK built in. You have to download it first and then use it for installing weblogic.

  • Installation of AIA FP 2.2.1 on Weblogic Server 10gR3

    Is it possible to install AIA FP 2.2.1 on Weblogic Server 10gR3?
    As we would be working with OSB 10gR3 which is on Weblogic Server 10gR3
    but SOA Suite 10.1.3.3 for third party (Weblogic) works on Weblogic Server 9.2
    So how do we install SOA Suite 10.1.3.3 on Weblogic Server 10gR3 ?
    Please help as soon as possible.
    Thanks
    Joyjit

    to install SOA Suite 10.1.3.3 on Weblogic Server 10gR3 it's actually impossible,
    you have to wait the next release 10.1.3.5
    or you can use SOA suite 10.1.3.4 on (OC4J or Wls 9.2) with OSB 10Gr3.
    there is new a white paper which explain how to use AIA 2.3 with OSB 10gR3. Look at http://www.oracle.com/applications/aia-foundation-pack-on-service-bus-white-paper.pdf

    The above is the jrockit crash dump file..
    I am using the JMS Wrapper Connection Poooling provided by Weblogic. When i use Jmeter and do the load testing for around 10 users, the server gets crashed.
    I doubt something is going wrong with the Weblogic JMS Connection Pooling, please help me..

    The problem doesn't look like it has anything to do with wappers per se. The stack indicates that the JVM died when the persistent store tried to invoke a standard Java synchronize operation. JVM crashes need to be analyzed by a JVM expert, so I second the suggestion to solicit help from JVM experts and/or filing a case with customer support. In the mean-time, you can probably work-around the issue by either (A) ensuring you have a recent version of the JVM installed, or (B) temporarily switching to the Sun JVM.

  • Unable to create a folder through java code on weblogic server 10GR3

    Hi,
    I have java code which creates a folder and writes an XML file in to it.
    File saveDirectory = new File(storePath);
    if(!saveDirectory.exists()){
    System.out.println("directory doesnt exists");
    boolean isDirectoryCreated = saveDirectory.mkdir();
    System.out.println("directory doesnt exist creating status :"+isDirectoryCreated);
    This code works fine on my local weblogic server.Whereas the one installed on Unix box is not.
    saveDirectory.mkdir() is unable to create a directory at the given path.
    I feel there is some permission problems.
    Please let me know what can be done.
    Thanks,

    I have my Linux/Unix Admin either add me to a group that can do this or create one that can and add me to it.
    If you command prompt can you manually do it now?
    Best Regards

  • Get Domain directory path in weblogic server 10gR3

    Hi all,
    Does anyone know how to get the directory path of to a domin in WLS 10gR3 using JMX?
    Basically, I am trying to create a timer in WLI manually using Java code but for that to work, I
    need to know the domain directory path as below.
    BTW, I know it can be created in WLST with ease... but I want to try using Java code
    import com.bea.wli.mbconnector.timer.TimerConnGenerator;
    public class WLITimerTest {
    public static void main(String args[]) {
    String domainDir = <path of domain>; // e.g. C:\bea103\user_projects\domains\mydomain
    String domainDir = "C:/bea103/user_projects/domains/esis_domain";
    try {
    TimerConnGenerator.main(new String[] {"-inName", "timerName", "-outfile",
    domainDir +"/WLITimerEG_" + "timerName" + ".jar"});
              } catch (Exception e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
    Thanks
    Sam

    Just to answer my own question. It's System.getenv('DOMAIN_HOME') where DOMAIN_HOME is set in setDomainEnv.cmd of your domain.

  • Server 2003 to 2008 DCPromo fails - "The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect"

    I've done the adprep32 on 2003 server standard for /forestprep, /domainprep, and /rodcprep without an error, as instructed by several docs on web.  But in final stage of dcpromo on 2008 server standard, it fails with
    Active Directory Domain Service could not replicate the directory partion CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=domain,DC=local from the remote Active Directory Domain Controller Old-DC.
    "The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect."
    I've found several docs online, but non-helped.  After about 20 hours of numbing fingers, I found docs to manually move DNS and DHCP from 2003 server to 2008 server.  But the Active Directory on 2008 server won't start because I can't get that
    DCPromo to finish.
    Is there a way to manually move the login ID's and passwords to 2008 server and activate the Active Directory Service?
    Thanks.

    I've already looked at it, and used it to google. Tried every suggestion I could find. Below is snippet of the file:

  • WebLogic 9.2 - Replacing  apache_xbean.jar with the file xmlbeans-2.4.0.jar

    Hello All,
    I am a newbie in the forum.
    I have been using WebLogic9.2 for a while, but in my new company there was a unique request to replace the following files in WebLogic 9.2 installation.
    The development team wants to replace the:
    Original Jar:  bea\weblogic92\common\lib\apache_xbean.jar [This file comes along with the WebLogic 9.2 installation]
    with this file.
    Replaced Jar: bea\weblogic92\common\lib\xmlbeans-2.4.0.jar [This file has to be downloaded from apache.org website]
    The reason the developers want these file to be replaced is they are trying to generate xlsx reports from database and the new file works ok for them after replacing it with the old file.
    CAN WE REPLACE THE ORIGINAL FILE WITH THE NEW ONE.
    I am not sure of the consequences this would have on WebLogic performance and security.
    Can some one throw light on this.
    Regards,
    Kumar

    Hello Jaysen,
    As per your suggestions, I asked the developers to try the procedure....
    THEY SENT ME THIS HUGE ERROR LOG....DONT KNOW IF THIS IS ANY OF YOUR PAIN TO UNDERSTAND...CAN YOU HELP!

    But if you wish to do so, you can create multiple domains under the
    same installation, say one for dev and one for prod. On the same
    machine make sure they listen on different ports. This, of course,
    ties you to the same version for development and production - making
    it impossible to upgrade just one.
    You may be able to do two completely different installations (i.e.
    different BEA HOMEs) on the same machine - I haven't tried this but it
    looks possible. This would mean you could upgrade each separately. The
    presence of BEAHOMELIST in the registry on NT seems to indicate this
    should work.

  • How do i set the classpath in weblogic server

    hi,
    i am using weblogic SP2. in my application, i have some jars in the lib directory. currently my application is running fine. but when i add some new jars, it is throwing some exception. i guess that it may be because that in the classpath, these new jars might be before the other jars. how can i view the classpath and change it.

  • I need to install servlet-api.jar in the libext folder.

    Hi I am doing a tutorial on struts 2.0.11.
    i need to install servlet-api.jar in the libext folder which I have created inside WEB-INF
    Now I have downloaded servlet.api which is in the zip form.
    When I extract the files. Its giving me two folders
    1. javax
    2. META-INF
    Inside javax there is a folder called servlet. Inside servlet folder there are
    a) bunch of call files
    b) http folder
    c) resources folder
    Inside http folder there are
    a) class files
    b) properties files
    Inside the resources folder there are
    a) dtd files
    b) xsd files
    Inside the META-INF folder there is the manifest.mf file
    I just need servlet-api.jar
    I think that I have extracted the contents of servlet-api.jar by using the extract feature of winzip.
    Do you think that by just changing the extension of the file from servlet-api.zip to servlet-api.jar it will do the trick or do i need to do something else.
    Please guide

    Hi ^^,
    your replies were very helpful. I did try to check the lib folder of the webserver and there was not servlet-api.jar. However I downloaded a dummy project and it did have servlet-api.jar in it, so I am ok for now.
    thanks and regards,
    PrashantYou should not be doing that. Always use the one from the application server which you're going to use. Otherwise you will possibly get in runtime trouble due to version differences.
    The actual location and filename of the servlet API might differ per application server implementation. If it was for example Tomcat 6, it is the servlet-api.jar in the /lib directory. If it was for example Glassfish (the current release), then it is the javaee.jar in the /lib directory.

  • Wrong Version of Weblogic Server with Enterprise Pack?

    Hello. I am having a runtime server problem with my Enterprise Pack. Here is the scenario:
    I downloaded and installed Oracle WebLogic Server 10gR3. I am using the bundled (Eclipse) Enterprise Pack that came with it. I am following the "Introduction to the Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse (OEPE) IDE" tutorial. I am at the stage (in wizard) where I am creating an eclipse project, and assigning the target runtime server. It says to pick Oracle WebLogic Server 10gR3 as the server. I do this. At the next step, when I browse and select the weblogic home for my chosen server, I get the following error:
    The path "C:\bea\wlserver_10.3" contains the wrong version of WebLogic Server. Expected version 10.3.0. Found version 10.3.1.
    This strikes me as odd as it is the server that the eclipse enterprise pack came with. At this point, I can go no further. Should I download a different version of the Enterprise Pack? Should I install a different version of weblogic? I am not sure what to do, and would appreciate any insights. Thanks.

    I'm stuck on this also.
    On 2009-09-22 I downloaded and installed Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse 11gR1 from http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/enterprise-pack-for-eclipse/index.html Windows All-In-One oepe-ganymede-win32.zip. I installed it into an existing exclipse directory and maybe that is related. I'm currently deleting that directory and unzipping the root of C to see if that helps.
    We have a DEV instance up that I hope be able to deploy to remotely. It is on a secure server (i.e. https://crpXXdev1:9023). The splash screen indicates that version is WebLogic Server 11g and WebLogic Server Version: 10.3.1.0
    I also downloaded and installed Oracle Web Logic 11gR1 (10.3.1) so I could deploy on my development box as well. I installed it to bea10_3_1_0. I can start this instance and when I do the splash screen says starting weblogic with Java version: java version 1.6.0_11.
    Logs should be written to:C:\bea10_3_1_0\user_projects\domains\base_domain\servers\AdminServer\logs\AdminServer.log.>
    I see Server started in RUNNING mode.
    I throw this in my Browser http://localhost:7001/console/login/LoginForm.jsp and I get splash screen and can log in as User name weblogic.
    Systems Status says OK
    As I go through the OTN Tuturial 'Introdcution to Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse (OEPE) IDE, configure the eclipse.ini fill as shown (e.g. -vm C:\bea10_3_1_0\jdk160_11\bin). And just to be safe I remove the following from my Environment Path so I don't use a pre Jave 1.6 version C:\Sun\SDK\jdk\bin;C:\Program Files\Oracle\jre\1.3.1\bin;
    I fire up eclipse and go to Window / Preference Installed JREs and Add a reference to jdk160_11 in c:\bea10_3_1_0\jdk160_11. That is the only JRE I reference.
    I don the following
    1. Select Help > Software Updates > Available Software > Add Site.
    2. In the Add Site dialog, enter http://download.oracle.com/otn_software/oepe/ganymede, and then click OK.
    3. Select Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse, verify that all of the subcomponents are selected, and then click Install.
    I get some prompts see some download activity and after it is down, restart Eclipse.
    I go to Open Perspective and Java EE is not available as an option to choose. This is bad because I cannot see the Server tab to add a Server. I could do this yesterday before I re-installed Eclipsed. Without the Server tab and can not continue the tutorial to get to where I was having errors yesterday.
