Look like you're not the only one who encountered this specific problem. There are several solutions mentioned, under each downgrading to Java SE 1.4 or upgrading to Weblogic 9.

  • Weblogic Startup Class does not run as Windows Service

If you know the answer, plase send me an email at [email protected]
I'm running a weblogic startup class that starts a Thread. I need to
run a batch program that should be running as long as WebLogic is
    running (to process new orders).
It works fine when I run WebLogic (5.1 SP8) from a script, but causes
problem when I'm running it as a Windows Service. It calls the
startup class, however, the startup class never spawns the Thread
    class.
Following is excerpts from different components:

    Hi,
    Ok. Few suggestions.
    1. Can you review the SAP note:
552286  Troubleshooting for the SAP Web Dispatcher
    2. When you said: "web dispatcher does not get started ", what error you got ? Can you be more details here ?
    3. Please check the trace file dev_webdisp" that generated in the work directory. If the log entries is not abvious, increase the trace level to 2 or 3, and reproduce and re-check the trace file.
    4. What is the output of the command "sapwebdisp -v"
    5. How about sapwebdisp.pfl ? Are those settings correct ?
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Vincent

  • ITunes reports the following on startup: "iTunes was not properly..."

All of a sudden whenever I start iTunes it gives me an error message telling me that "iTunes was not properly installed. If you wish to import or burn CDs, you need to reinstall iTunes".
I've read and did everything that other threads like this have suggested without success:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2256415&tstart=0
I have uninstalled iTunes and Apple Application Support software, deleted folders, rebooted, re-installed and still get this message.
Any ideas what else might be going on? I'm running Windows XP Pro (32-bit) on an HP laptop with all the latest Windows and Apple updates.

    Whatatrip,
First let me state that I have been in your shoes, where you're at, for more than a year with no help from anyone. I followed all the suggestions I could find, as you did, and got nowhere. So I feel your pain, my brother.
Today, I felt like I heard angels singing and saw the light of heaven (I'm a writer, forgive the embellishments) when I finally - after another three hours spent - got it working.
I have x64 Win7 now, but I've had this problem for ages, since XP, and this is what I finally did to get rid of it. I don't know whether all of it is necessary, but I do know that it worked.
    1. Remove ALL Apple products - iTunes, Quicktime, Apple Software Updater, Bonjour, EVERYTHING. I used the standard "Remove programs" through windows to do this. Anything that had an Apple, Inc. tag went bye-bye. Note: I also removed everything Apple-related from my hard drive (not including movies, music, etc). This includes the "My Documents\My Music\iTunes" folder. Do a search for anything with iTunes in the folder or filename and toss it. You may not get rid of everything right away, but do it again later (see below) just to be sure.
    2. Followed the instructions here (http://www.gearcdr.com/wiki/index.php?title=DRIVERS:Windows_-_Updating,_removing,_64_bit_versions,_etc#Manual_Removal_.E2.80.9332-bit) to remove all GEAR drivers from my system. I used 64-bit, but you can probably get similar results with any of the steps suggested.
    3. Use CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/) to fix any lingering registry errors/problems. I had to run the registry cleaner SEVEN TIMES in a row to clear out everything. Make sure you run this more than once, until it says "No issues found."
    4. Reboot.
    5. Run CCleaner again. And again, and again, until it says "No issues found." Remove any trace remnants of iTunes on your HDD (misc folders, etc as above).
    6. Download latest standalone install for iTunes (http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/) and GEAR Drivers (http://www.gearcdr.com/support/drivers.php).
    7. Install iTunes (do NOT run when finished). Install Gear Drivers. *IMPORTANT NOTE:* When I ran the install for these drivers, it asked me whether I wanted to modify, repair or remove the drivers. I selected repair, and the install completed.
    8. Reboot.
    9. Run iTunes.
Lo and behold, it worked. I can burn once more. I sincerely hope this helps you, and if not, know that there are those out there who understand and can commiserate.

although, it seems that the OES admin server is up since i am able to access the OES admin console.
i have tried playing around the policies to grant the "weblogic" the priviliges for an Admin but is still get the same issue. Although, when i try to distribute the changes in the policy, "ASI ( Policy for entire Oracle Entitlements Server system ) " still appears in the list of changes.
any thoughts on what the problem is? is there a way to force the distribution of the policy? maybe through the command prompt or other console?
    Edited by: user9056644 on Mar 5, 2010 12:02 AM

Have you applied CP2 or CP3 to OES? There were enhancements that allows these policies to be scoped within an organization. I only ask to help guide you on distributing policies for the runtime WLS domain. The ASI domain is only for the admin. There should have been a set of resources and policies created as a result of running ConfigTool for your new instance (looks like you named it 'wls'). If no CP, it will be in DefaultApp next to ASI.
You have to distribute policies for 'wls' immediately following running ConfigTool before starting WebLogic or you will put it into a state where it can't be started. The corrective action is to remove the state.ck file under C:\BEA_HOME_10/ales32-ssm/wls-ssm/instance/wls_ssm/work/runtime, distribute policies, restart WebLogic.
If you need to re-run ConfigTool (after installing CP for instance), revert the following files:
    <domain>/config/config.xml
    <domain>/bin/startWebLogic.sh | .cmd
Revert from the no-ales backups created. Remove the instance folder under C:\BEA_HOME_10\ales32-ssm/wls-ssm/instance. You can then re-run ConfigTool if you have to.

  • Weblogic server not starting due to connection pool error.

    Hi all,
We have some issues with the network due to that, weblog server not able to create the connection pool or make physical connection with the database in the allocated time, we need to increase the timeout so that weblogic can wait and create a connection and then start the apps. How to achieve this?

    Hi,
It looks like your DB is down for now and that is reason why the server cannot initialize your App while startup.
Check which Data source you are using and make initial capacity as zero and try to restart the server again.
Note: you need to do this changes from JMS module under %Domain_Home% / config / jdbc/

  • Error in SQl Query - SQl Command not properly ended

    Hi All
I have this SQL query that returns the following error when I run it in TOAD:
    SELECT
    VC.CAMPAIGN_NUMBER,VC.CAMPAIGN_TITLE,VC.CAMPAIGN_DESC,
    VCV.START_DATE, VCV.END_DATE,VC.CAMPAIGN_TYPE,VC.APPLICABILITY,

              VCV.VIN = 'US'
              AND
    VCV.CAMPAIGN_NUMBER = VC.CAMPAIGN_NUMBER AND VC.COUNTRY_CODE = 'E'
              AND VC.LANGUAGE_CODE = 'L' AND VC.CAMPAIGN_TYPE = null
AND SYSDATE BETWEEN VCV.START_DATE AND VCV.END_DATE
AND SYSDATE BETWEEN VC.START_DATE AND VC.END_DATE)
    A ORDER BY A.CAMPAIGN_PRIORITY DESC, A.END_DATE
    The error is:
    SQl Command not properly ended
Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks a lot to everyone. It helped me run the query without any problem. Now I have another issue. This may not be the right place to post this question, I think. My apologies for that. The problem is, Weblogic posts an error as follows:
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00923: FROM keyword not found where expected
I am wondering if this is an Java related error or an SQL related error.
Well, I am using the SQL Statement which you helped debug, and it is inside something called "XXSQLConstants.java consisting of the following SQL statement:
public static final String XX_ALL_CAMPS_SELECT = "SELECT * FROM" +
         "(SELECT vc.campaign_number, vc.campaign_title, vc.campaign_desc, vc.start_date," +
         "vc.end_date, vc.campaign_type, vc.applicability, vc.campaign_priority" +
    "FROM vm_campaign vc" +
    "WHERE vc.applicability = 'Y'" +
    "AND vc.country_code = ? " +
    "AND vc.language_code = ? " +
    "AND vc.campaign_type = ? "+
    "AND SYSDATE BETWEEN vc.start_date AND vc.end_date" +
    "AND NOT EXISTS (" +
    "SELECT 'X'" +
    "FROM vm_campaign_vin vcv" +
    "WHERE (vcv.vin = ? " +
    "AND vcv.campaign_number = vc.campaign_number" +
    "))" +
         "UNION" +
         "SELECT vc.campaign_number, vc.campaign_title, vc.campaign_desc," +
         "vcv.start_date, vcv.end_date, vc.campaign_type, vc.applicability," +
    "vc.campaign_priority" +
    "FROM vm_campaign_vin vcv, vm_campaign vc" +
    "WHERE vcv.vin = ? " +
    "AND vcv.campaign_number = vc.campaign_number" +
    "AND vc.country_code = ? " +
    "AND vc.language_code = ? " +
    "AND vc.campaign_type IS NULL" +
    "AND SYSDATE BETWEEN vcv.start_date AND vcv.end_date" +
    "AND SYSDATE BETWEEN vc.start_date AND vc.end_date)";
The SQl runs fine when tested (well, it does not return any data for the rows returned, but there are no errors), but in my application server I get the following error (pointing out the same SQL code pasted above:
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00923: FROM keyword not found where expected
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. I appreciate all replies

  • JMS Warning on weblogic startup

The JMS experts may here know better. Looking hard to resolve this issue relaated to JMS. can anyone help here.
Re: JMS Warning on weblogic startup

I'm not familiar it, but apparently there's a feature in the security subsystem that allows propagating security information for "L2 Caches" via JMS, and it is this feature that's generating the Warning -- not JMS itself.
I do not happen to know how this feature works, what kind of JMS configuration it expects, or if the Warning is simply a natural ephemeral part of the boot/initialization process of the security feature that can be ignored.
You might want to try posting to the "WebLogic Server - Security" newsgroup.

  • Configure weblogic startup class in deployment jar

We need to invoke a class during weblogic startup that is part of application deployment jar...
It works if startup class is added to server classpath ( Weblogic documentation also insists that). But our startup class uses application logic and needs to be part of application jar..
We are getting java.lang.ClassNotFoundException for the class during start up. setting LoadBeforeAppDeployments to false also does not help...
Is there any other way to invoke a application class during weblogic startup...?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Rajasekar.

here is the solution to this:
in the conventional method of implementing a startup class, one needs to impletent the T3STartupDef interface and register the class as a startup class in the console / config.xml
in this method, the startup class need not implement the T3STartupDef interface, it just needs to have a "main" method that will be called. the process of registeration is also simple, if you have an application ear.
while making the application ear, add a weblogic-application.xml along with the application.xml. the weblogic-application.xml should contain :
    <startup>
    <startup-class>myStartup</startup-class>
    <startup-uri>myStartupArchive.jar</startup-uri>
    </startup>
the myStartupArchive.jar should contain the startup class and all classes used by it
also, use a "manifest" file to point to other library jars within the ear
    hope this helps someone !
    going, going, ... gone.

    Hi M,
First, I see your point (and agree), from a "pristine" point of view ;-)
But the SOAP spec (or Note, or Comment, or whatever) actually allows this :-)
    Here's the exact paragraph:
"A SOAP application SHOULD include the proper SOAP namespace on all elements and
attributes defined by SOAP in messages that it generates. A SOAP application MUST
be able to process SOAP namespaces in messages that it receives. It MUST discard
messages that have incorrect namespaces (see section 4.4) and it MAY process SOAP
messages without SOAP namespaces as though they had the correct SOAP namespaces."
Kind of "Clintonian", if you know what I mean, but it is there. If your SOAP processor
were to discard this message, one would have to assume that MAY is synonymous with
    MAY NOT :-)
Is the glass HALF-FULL, or HALF-EMPTY?
Anyway, I agree that the env namespace prefix OUGHT TO BE (like that, lol) added
to the encodingStyle attribute here :-)
