Weblogic8.1 and jconnect6

How do we migrate to jconnect6 for weblogic8.1 and Sybase? How does weblogic server know which version of jconn{2,3}.jar to use? I tried replacing jconn2.jar with jconn3.jar and jconnect5_5 with jConnect6, still WL is looking for jdbc2 classes. Would there be separate versions of jConnect.jar as well?

I tried replacing jconn2.jar with jconn3.jar and jconnect5_5 with jConnect6,
still WL is looking for jdbc2 classes. Would there be separate versions of jConnect.jar as well?WebLogic uses the first version of a particular class that it finds in it's classpath.
We do ship a version of Sybase'e driver, in the server\lib directory. You can replace
it with a newer version if you like. However, note that Sybase's jconn3 driver has
different class names than the jconn2, so in order to use them, you should edit
your start-weblogic script to add a line like:
set CLASSPATH=\mydir\jconn3.jar;\mydir\jConnect3.jar;%CLASSPATH%
and then you must tell the pool the name of the new driver class. It
would default to the older class name.

  • How to get LastModified time of a file in repository(in weblogic8 and Compa

    hi ,
    my task is that i have to compare modified time of 2 file.one is in file system other is database file . which is most recently updated (which is newer).
    details :
    we have to check that which file is most recently updated .if database 's file is newer then we copy that file in to file system other wise we keep file system 's file as it is till database file is not updated
    so that we can put the latest data in cache(which is in file system ) so we need not to access database again and again we just get data from our cache(or file system).
    technical Detail:
    my task is that i have to compare cache's file and repository's file . which is most recently updated (which is newer).
    in all i have to done in weblogic server 8.2 's repository and file system(cache) .
    i want to know that how we can check that when the file in repository last modified.
    i want to check that node content of a particular repository (file /image/any data ) last modified by anyone , so that i can put the latest data in cache if cache 's file modified time
    is less then repository's file modified .other wise no need to copy all file/data again and again ,if no modification .

    If the file is in the resource path of a webapplication, then you can use
              URL u = servletContext.getResource("path/to/resource");
              URLConnection connection = u.openConnection();
              connection.getLastModified()
              If the webapp is exploded, then you can use the getRealPath() on servletContext to get the absolute path on the disk and create a File, then invoke lastModified() to get its timestamp.

  • Class loading for webservice endpoint

    Hi,
    I have developed a simple pojo webservice endpoint(jax-rpc) and deployed it in jboss app server. In the endpoint i have a static block which is getting executed every time a client invokes this webservice.Dose this means everytime the webservice is invoked the container loads the class again?Is this behavior specific to jboss or is it true for all app servers?
    any info/pointers on this will be very helpful.
    Regards,
    comfortably_numb

    I guess the solution could be the CLASSPATH. If this is the case, then Can anyone tell me how to set CLASSPATH through java program itself (if the program knows the directory structure) . Actually, there is a whole application running in WebLogic8, and I want to set the CLASSPATH at runtime through java program.
    Any help?
    Thanks,
    Sumit

    any idea?

    Hi Jitesh
    JVM crash could be because of any code, it could be weblogic or your own application or a bug in JDK itself.
    1) You can run tools like GDB on the core file which will indicate the source of the crash.
    From the stack it looks like a Sun JDK bug
    2) Search on sun for this error code shows some known bugs. Checkout http://onesearch.sun.com/search/onesearch/index.jsp?charset=utf-8&col=developer-debugging&qt=4F530E43505002EF+01&rt=true&cs=false
    3) You can also upgrade the JVM to the latest version of 1.4.2. I believe you have 1.4.2_05

  • Weblogic8.1 and mysql connection failure, please help

    Pardon me for repeating this topic. I have spent 2 days on this but still ended

    The similar configuration works very well under wls7.0.
    It should not be a problem of jdbc driver or its classpath setting, since the

    1. This assumes that you have downloaded the mysql database and configured it and started
    it by running mysqld. In my case, I installed it in d:/mysql.
    2. It also assumes that you have configured a user on the database.
    I configured a user "test" with password "test" on the database "mysql" on "localhost" using
    mysql --user=root mysql
    grant all privileges on *.* to test@localhost identified by 'test' with grant option;
    3. It assumes that you have downloaded the Connector/J zip file and pulled out the jar file.
    In my case, I renamed it and copied it to d:/mysql/lib/jdbc.jar.
    4. It is absolutely necessary that you put the jar file in your server classpath. It won't
    work without doing that. Then I booted the server.
    5. I used the WLS 8.1 console to configure the connection pool and associated data source.
    In my case, they look like the following:
    <JDBCConnectionPool DriverName="org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver"
    Name="mysql" Password="test"
    Properties="user=test"
    Targets="myserver"
    TestTableName="SQL SELECT 1"
    URL="jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/mysql"/>
    <JDBCTxDataSource
    JNDIName="myDataSource"
    Name="myDataSource"
    PoolName="mysql"
    Targets="myserver"/>
    Note that the console uses the old class name for the driver. There is a new class name but
    the old name still exists and we figured it would cover folks using the old and new classes.
    6. I'll attach a client program that looks up the datasource associated with the connection pool,
    gets a connection, and does some stuff with the connection.
    The user/password combination must have security priviledges in WLS to reserve a connection
    on the pool.
    The code for this program is taken almost entirely from the WLS JDBC documentation.
    This is all pretty standard stuff.

  • Error while migrating JMS application from Weblogic8.1 to Weblogic10.3

    Hi All,
    I am migrating my JMS application from weblogic8.1 to 10.3. I'm able to publish and subscribe message from local weblogic server. But when i'm configuring ldap server in weblogic-ejb-jar.xml, while deploying the application itself i'm getting the below error. Same thing working fine in weblogic8.1.
    For this am i need to use foreignjms?. If this is the case please let me know how to configure foreignjms in weblogic10.3 server.

    Hello TomB,
    Could you elaborate a bit on your explanation? I'm having the same problem as talk2srujan. I currently have an application which works fine in weblogic81 and, when migrated to weblogic103, fails at deployment time. The error I get is: unable to find EndPointFinder for tibjmsnaming://host:port
    We didn't have to register any foreign servers in weblogic81, should I do this in weblogic103?
    Could you also give a pointer to the known bug you mentioned?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Jsp declaration and import statement

    Hi All
    I have some problems with JSP.
    I have wrtten a declaration in jsp like this.....
    <%@ page language="java"%>
    <%!
    Date date = new Date();
    List al new ArrayList();
    public List getList(){
    al.add("Hi");
    return al;
    %>
    The List is-> <%= getList()%>
    Note that i did not import anything, it gives the output without any compile time/runtime error. How it is happening?
    If i write any thing in scriplets.......like List, Date, it is giving compile time error asking to import this.
    I am using weblogic8.1
    May i get the correct answer for this ASAP?
    Thanks and Regards
    Kasim
    [b]

    weblogic includes certain import statements in the JSP page when it is compiled.
    That is why u r not getting an error some times!!
    Check your weblogic documentation to find more details abt that
    But it is better to include the import statements , so the code will work in any server.

    How to deploy and run EJB in eclipse without XDoclet

    HI Welcome to J2ee...
    I am also new to this...But i ll share my ideas with you...
    In EJB 3.0 No need of any Deployment Descriptors....
    And If you are using Eclipse You can Deploy(as jar) using Export in File tab...
    XDoclet is not mandatory...

  • How to use struts Logic tags in weblogic8.1

    hi
              i have used jakarta struts in JDeveloper there i used logic tags
              but the same i have to use in weblogic8.1 ,how should i use it
              i am new to weblogic platform
              it is very urgent
              please

    Hi harish,
              Procedure for using a Struts Tag Libraries in weblogic 8.1 :
              â€¢Copy the tag lib jar files under WEB-INF/lib ( if tag handler supplied as
              classes without package a jar file then we need to copy the classes
              under WEB_INF/classes.
              â€¢ Copy the tld files files under WEB-INF or create a directory under
              WEB-INF and copy tld files under this directory.
              â€¢ We need to give the information about the tag libraries in web.xml by
              adding the following lines to it as,
              <taglib>
              <taglib-uri>bean</taglib-uri>
              <taglib-location>/WEB-INF/struts-bean.tld</taglib-location>
              </taglib>
              <taglib>
              <taglib-uri>html</taglib-uri>
              <taglib-location>/WEB-INF/struts-html.tld</taglib-location>
              </taglib>
              <taglib>
              <taglib-uri>logic</taglib-uri>
              <taglib-location>/WEB-INF/struts-logic.tld</taglib-location>
              </taglib>
              To use tags in jsp file we need to add taglib directive as ,
              <%@ taglib uri="logic" prefix=“logic"%>
              <%@ taglib uri="html" prefix=“html"%>
              <%@ taglib uri="bean" prefix=“bean"%>
              Every tag can support zero or more number of attributes and a tag may or
              may not support body content
              Every Tag Library Uniquely identified by uri defined in web.xml.
              we can use the tags in jsp according to the tags and attributes which are defined in *.tld files.
              if we look at .tld files we can find several tags and its attributes.
              note :any jar files that are related to struts framework ,place under the lib directory of the webapplication.

  • Mqseries and weblogic: XA transactions with MessagingBridge

    Hello.
              Due to usage of XA transaction with MQSeries on host rather that weblogic host, require Extended Transactional Client - i have tried to use MessagingBridge feature in weblogic8.1.
              So, when we send message to JMS queue (source destination for messaging bridge) in transactional context it will be forwarded to MQSeries destination only after commit transaction. And if transaction will be crashed, MessagingBridge will not forward message from JMS to MQSeries.
              It is good substitution for XA transactions with MQSeries, i hope.
              In config.xml it looks like
              <BridgeDestination
              AdapterJNDIName="eis.jms.WLSConnectionFactoryJNDIXA"
              Name="mq_q_xa_bridgeQueue" Properties="DestinationJNDI=TEST2;DestinationType=Queue;ConnectionURL=file:/c:/jndidir;InitialContextFactory=com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory;ConnectionFactoryJNDI=QCF2"/>
              <JMSBridgeDestination
              ConnectionFactoryJNDIName="thqueueconnectionfactory"
              DestinationJNDIName="bridgequeue" Name="THbridgequeue"/>
              <MessagingBridge AsyncEnabled="false" Name="wls2mqXA"
              QOSDegradationAllowed="false" QualityOfService="Exactly-once"
              SourceDestination="THbridgequeue" Started="true"
              TargetDestination="mq_q_xa_bridgeQueue" Targets="cgServer"/>
              And this implementation of XA transaction in weblogic+mqseries work.
              Does it have any bugs or hole or another disadvantages?
              Thanks.
