Webpages open in browser, not the stageWebView?

Hi,
I have an app that I'm just doing some minor updates on after having successfully published it to both Google and Apple's app stores (http://flashgamer.com/apps/ ). The app consists of several lists and UI-elements done in Flash and will eventually display a HTML page in a StageWebView control.
This latter part no longer works on iOS. Rather than displaying the supplied string in the StageWebView control, the app now opens the browser to http://adobe.122121_instert_funky_number_here_42423423.apollo.air/
What's up with this? Only major change on my machine is that I've updated XCode from 3.x to 4.2. Does this matter?

Xls output opening in browser not excel

Hi,
I have created a report through PeopleSoft xml publisher that outputs xls. When I try to preview the report from the rtf template, it correctly displays in excel. However, when I now ran this through the process monitor and open the report in the report manager the report even though it is in .xls opens up in the IE browser.
Is there a configuration needed in order for the report to open in MS Excel ?

The guts of my computer were rearranged and I got a new main hard drive. My old one is still in there and I can get stuff from it, but when I go to the Mozilla folder on the old one, I can't figure out if there's anything I can do to get all my bookmarks from that drive to my new one, where Firefox is newly installed.

If you open Firefox then Firefox will always use the default profile folder as found via profiles.ini on your system drive.
You either need to import the file in your current default profile or copy the file to your current profile folder while Firefox is closed.
Firefox 3 stores the bookmarks and the browser history in [http://kb.mozillazine.org/places.sqlite places.sqlite] and no longer creates an HTML backup by default.
There are also (five) JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder within the Firefox profile folder.
You can either copy the file places.sqlite to your [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] or import the most recent JSON backup from the bookmarkbackups folder of that old profile.

"Application Data" in XP/Win2K and "AppData" in Vista/Windows 7 are hidden folders.

Go to: Control Panel > Folder Options > "View" tab > under "Hidden files and folders", select "Show hidden files and folders".
You may want to un-check the box "Hide extensions for known file types" to see the file extensions of all files.

Give this a try:
1 -be sure to have a current backup of the iPhoto library.
2 - download and launch http://www.macchampion.com/arbysoft/BatChmod.
3 - click on the File button, locate and select your iPhoto Library.
4 - check the Unlock and Apply to enclosed checkboxes.
5 - make no changes to the other checkboxes
6 - click on the Apply button.

"Edit Original" opens PS, but not the image

When I try to edit an image using the "edit original" or 'edit with..' command in ID, Photoshop open up with a blank screen (no error message & no photo). Or in the case of a vector file, Illustrator opens up with the message "file not found". In the links panel, the graphics show the correct path on my C drive. Same thing happens when I try to open a file from Bridge: PS opens, but not the file.
I've seen lots of posts where the wrong application opens the graphic, but none where the correct app opens without a file. any idea what's going on here?
I recently moved into a new Quad core i7 computer with a RAID-1 configuration, running Windows 7 Pro. I did a clean install of CS4 Premium, and also recently installed all the updates to CS4.

It's 64 bit Windows. I bought the computer with Windows 7 Pro because it's supposed to be able to install/run older software that may not be compatible with Windows 7 64 bit. I have 9Gb of RAM.
I installed CS4 to the default directory, but Windows created a folder called "Program Files (x86)" for it, where it has installed all my older software that was either 32-bit or XP compatible.
My browser is IE v.8, and I'm still using the trial version of Norton Internet Security that came with the machine.
I've also been using the HP factory-installed Windows theme.
I should mention that I bought the computer refurbished and it didn't work when it arrived. I had to send it back to HP for a complete overhaul and reinstall of the OS. I believe they also had to replace the graphics card, which is now an NVIDIA GeForce GT 220. It's been running fine since then, just this one glitch that I've noticed so far.

Unable to open PNG files "not the right kind of document"

I just noticed this error today when I tried to open several PNG files, some of which I created with Photoshop: "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document".
I'm running Photoshop 9.0.2 on Windows XP Pro. Opening other file types (gif, jpg) works fine. I also noticed that in the save as dialog box that PNG is not a listed file type.

PNG certainly is listed as a file type. I have saved many of them using Save As, many quite recently, using PSCS3; and I just did a couple in PSCS2. Here's the Save As box in PSCS2 with an 8-bit flattened image being saved as PNG:

 Both PNG images opened properly. The second one opened as 16-bit, flattened (layers aren't preserved in PNG).
 
 And both of the above images were Saved As PNG from PSCS2, also.

PSD file on mac, opened on PC not the same colors??

my PSD file has a specific color i need, PMS 300 in my logo. So on my MAC i make it. When someone at my work opens the PSD file on a PC, it is not the same color. why arent the colors the same?? even when i save it as a PDF, if someone on a pc opens it at my work. its a different shade of blue.

Windows based PCs are sRGB by default. Many apps are not even color managed and can't display images tagged with other profiles correctly.
Photoshop and Bridge are color managed, but what are they using to view your files?
Add to that users who are not educated in color management and you have a problem.
Those who target their files for commercial printing use Adobe RGB, a much larger gamut that will look desaturated in an sRGB environment like Windows.
So either they get a viewer that can read these tags, or you will have to send them a copy of the file converted to sRGB.
This can be found in Photoshop's Edit menu.
Edit > Convert to Profile... if your image is already tagged as Adobe rgb
You can still keep your Adobe RGB tagged files for print, but you have to explain that to your Windows users.
It's not the best answer, but might hold until all PCs are on the same page and your co-workers educated.

When I double click a PS file, it opens PS but not the file. Why?

Since I purchased CS5, I've found that double clicking, or dragging to the Ps (or Ai) icon in the dock will only open the program, but not the file. I then have to go back and double click the file again to bring it up. I've looked in preferences but cannot find a way to resolve this. A friend who also has CS5 does not have this problem.

Are you on a Mac or a PC?
That behavior usually is sign of a file vital for Photoshop (and some other Adpobe apps too) missing.

If you are on a PC I have no solution to suggest.

I want to synch my bookmarks to my Android phone, but nothing I've tried works. Gmarks doesn't work. Xmarks doesn't work, Firefox Snych doesn't work (I am NOT installing Mobile Firefox because it won't work with my phone).

(1) Bookmarks
All the apps I see in the "Play" app store for importing bookmarks have pretty bad reviews. What do you think about hosting your bookmarks online and accessing them by loading that page? It is an extra step but might be a useful workaround in the short run. Of course, finding a site that works well also could be a challenge...

When you say Firefox contacts, do you mean the ones in a particular webmail site? Or Thunderbird?

Double clicking PS files opens Photoshop but not the file? why?

Since re-installing my system a few months ago double clicking on a photoshop doc will open Photoshop itself but not the file I have clicked on - can't work out why. Can anyone help? Any file wherever its saved the same thing happens.

Everytime I close my browser and have to restart it, not only do I lose the Persona I was using, but I also get the welcome to Mozilla page in a tab along with my homepage. It is getting quite annoying.

It might be a pref.js issue. These should give you all the information you need!
If that doesn't work:

Did you originally begin the URL with file:// ? - if you did and Keynote changed it you may unable to do it by a simple link: it probably never occurred to the developers that you would want to do this. (If you didn't, give it a try).
I wonder whether this would work - I've not tried it. Open the local web page in your browser and copy the URL. Now create a simple html page with this code:
<HTML><HEAD><meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=URL OF YOUR FILE"></HEAD><BODY></BODY></HTML>
pasting the URL in. Now upload this page to your web space and link to it in Keynote. It's possible that it will redirect to your local file: obviously if anyone else happens to access it they will just get an error.
