Webservice without client side interface

Is there a way to call a webservice from the client side with out having any jar or interface used in the client side?
Can you recommend me some good links on this?
Thanks

The most flexible client invocation method is DII (Dynamic Invocation Interface). With this approach your client needs just the standard JAX-RPC JARs from the JWSDP, but it doesn't need any runtime classes generated by WSDL to Java mapping tools.
The following link has some DII examples as well as comparisons with the other types of client invocations:

    Hello everybody,
    is it possible that a client (applet in browser) receives a video-stream (from a server) without having jmf installed on its local disk?
    Thanks for any advice

    Yeah, if you make your applet link to the JMF.jar file and use a video format supported by the cross-platform pack.

  • Client side caching

    Hi all,
    I wonder how client side caching (in memory) would work with BlazeDS.
    There was a project called FAST that would support client side caching for Remoting:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/articles/fast_userguide.html, but this doesn't seem to work for Flex 3.
    Do I have to invent my own caching mechanism?
    Without client side caching support I don't see how an application build on BlazeDS remoting would ever scale to many users.
    Regards,
    Markus

    Hi Markus. I took a look at that FAST project. There isn't anything like that in BlazeDS currently. It probably wouldn't be too hard to port that code to make it work with Flex 3 but it's usefulness looks somewhat limited. There doesn't look to be any way to timeout a request that has been cached for example which I think most people would want. If you think this is something that would be useful you can log an enhancement request in Jira.
    http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/BLZ
    As to your point about not seeing how an application built on BlazeDS remoting would scale, I think it's a fairly common practice to not expose functions to the end user that directly call backend services. It's pretty straightforward, for example, to request some data when the application loads and then refresh the data at some interval. You don't need a caching API to do this.

  • Applet without JMF installation at client side

    hello,
    I am trying developing an applet SIP phone based on Jain Sip Applet Phone( which originally can only deal with audio signal). But I found a big problem that I have to make every client install the JMF, however the clients hope there is no software to be installed locally.
    In application, I can run it without JMF installation by copying all the dlls to system32 directory and add some related JMF source code into my own project. Or just simply put the jmf.property to the "lib" directory, which also works.
    However, as for the applet, it dosen't that simple for the security thing. Here is the output in cosole:

    java.lang.RuntimeException: No permission to capture from applets
    -> Couldn't connect to video capture device
          I found that my applet can detect two device which is correct but has "no permission to capture from applets".
          In the progress of installation the JMF, and option is "permit recording from an applet". I read the source code, and found it dose the following works:
          if I choose "permit recording from an applet",  then "allowCapture=1", and in "settingPanel.java" it dose:
         "boolean allowCapture = checkAllowCapture.getState();
          Registry.set("secure.allowCaptureFromApplets", new Boolean(allowCapture));"
          I want to do what the installation progress did to give permition to applet, however, when I do the following:
           private static final String PROP_ALLOW_CAPTURE_FROM_APPLETS
            = "secure.allowCaptureFromApplets";
           Registry.set(PROP_ALLOW_CAPTURE_FROM_APPLETS, new Boolean(true));
           Registry.commit();
          in my project , it throws exception like this: "Failed to initially commit JMFRegistry. Ignoring err.java.lang.SecurityException: commit: Permission denied"
          The code which i thought could give applet the rights is denied.
          Till now, I have also read some similar questions in different forums, but there is no good answer.
          Can you help me? Is there any possibility to run the applet without installation on the client side ? Is my method right? If not, how should I do? BTW - have you investigated JavaFX? It is effectively the replacement for JMF, and possibly has a better end-user experience than trying to install JMF.
    However, as for the applet, it dosen't that simple for the security thing. Here is the output in cosole:

    Imagine if you visited a web page with a 1px x 1px applet (effectively invisible) that could hear everything you say, and transmit it back to the server. Sun is not about to allow that, unless the end-user has granted the applet extended permissions.

  • CSM client side VLAN without a gateway?

    Hi there,
    We are running in bridge mode, and are having some weird arp table issues. I think I have it traced down to the fact that the CSM is arping for addresses, and the replies are getting to the CSM and getting cached, but the MSFC is never seeing them.
    Would behavior like this happen if there is no gateway configured on the client side VLAN? Is a gateway on the client side VLAN a requirement?
    Thanks!

    Let's see if I can explain this coherently, sorry if I don't...
    Problem:
    What we're seeing is that a machine with multiple IP addresses tied to one NIC can only be reached via one of those IP addresses from a different VLAN. I look on the MSFC arp table, and I only see an entry with a MAC for that one IP address, none of the others. If I add a static ARP entry, I can then reach the other IP addresses from the other VLANs. So communication is possible, the ARP table is just not getting populated automatically.
    -HOST A in VLAN A is pointing at the MSFC for it's gateway.
    -HOST B in VLAN B is pointing at the MSFC for it's gateway.
    -The CSM is in bridge mode. VLAN C is the client side VLAN. VLAN B is the server side VLAN.
    -HOST A is trying ping HOST B. HOST A can ping HOST B on it's "main" IP address, but none of the others.
    -The ARP table on the MSFC has an entry for the "main" IP address on HOST B, but no entries for any others.
    -The ARP table on the CSM does have entries for the "extra" IP addresses on HOST B.
    -A static ARP entry for an "extra" IP address on HOST B solves the problem. HOST A can then ping HOST B's "extra" IP address.
    My thoughts:
    The ARP table on the MSFC is not getting populated automatically from the CSM. As I see it, this is because HOST B is in VLAN B, which only has an interface on the CSM. The arp replies are going to the CSM successfully, but aren't getting to the MSFC because there is no gateway or route defined for VLAN B on the CSM.
    The reason that anything at all works is that the hosts in VLAN B are initiating communication outbound to their gateway on the MSFC, so it's getting their MAC addresses that way. When a machine has multiple IP addresses, and it doesn't use them to communicate outbound, the MSFC doesn't learn the MAC for those addresses because the ARP replies are going to the CSM which isn't sharing.
    Hopefully that makes sense, and it also makes sense why I'm thinking it's the lack of a gateway entry. Thanks for your help.

    Enable "mac-sticky" comand under each client inteface.
    It will ensure that ACE sends the response to the MAC address from which the request to the VIP was recieved.

  • How to Print Crystal Report without any dialog message on the client side

    Hi!
    I've read too much questions like this, but i can't find any answer.
    How can i print a report on the client side directly?
    I have three buttons, "Generate Report", "Generate PDF", "Print".
    I want when the "Print" button was clicked, automaticaly the report is printed using default printer, like PrintToPrinter function, but in the client side.
    Thanks!

    If you search for previous posts about this, you will see many posts saying not possible.  If this functionality was possible, you could essentially have a page that would send something to a clients printer just by visiting the page, how bad of security hole would that be?

  • Generate PDF from VC without using BI-JAVA or PDF convertor on client side

    Hi there
    I need to generate a PDF from Visual Composer
    a pdf final result,  generated by several BAPIS, several tables , logo, static text, etc
    but I do not want to use the two solutions below described.
    I want to use a component or something installed on the server, to facilitate user's life.
    Is there any PDF convertor in R3? I have to install an Adobe Component?  other idea?
    a. In this thread ilustrates how to generate a PDF in a very simple way using a print function
    and a PDF convertor previously installed.
    Re: How to export from VC a bapi output table to a PDF file
    b. I have read another solution that uses the PCD location of the Web Analizar (BI-Java).
    Thanks, Alex Market

    Again, NO BI-JAVA. NO PDF convertor on client side.
    My idea is to create a Flex component with the PDF convert library.
    Something like this,
    http://lucamezzalira.com/2009/02/28/create-pdf-in-runtime-with-actionscript-3-alivepdf-zinc-or-air-flex-or-flash/
    Then embed it to the Visual Composer
    like Amir Mimran show us in this  "How to guide"
    Re: NEW: Flash Component Consumption in Visual Composer 7.01 SP5
    The problem that I see is
    our installation is 7.0 SP18, we have to upgrade to 7.01 SP5 at least,
    the Flash Components feature is available on 7.01 SP5 (NetWeaver 2004s Enhancement Pack 1, SP5)
    and more important, currently, this functionaily is only available in Windows Platform.
    Unix flatform will be supported from ehp1 sp6, according to this post
    VC model including flash component is not visible in run-time.

  • Client-side handler: static config?

    I would like to provide a client-side JAX-RPC handler that would
    be invoked without any modification to existing client code.
    The idea is that user's would only need to modify a config file
    (something like the web-services.xml file, but on the client-
    side) to use our handler.
    We are already doing this in axis (uses a client-side deployment
    descriptor: client_deploy.wsdd), but based on another thread
    ("Client Handler Chain - help ??"), it looks like there is
    currently no equivalent in WLS?
    Are there plans to add the ability to statically configure
    client-side handlers in WLS via some sort of client-side config
    file/descriptor, or is the programmatic method of modifying
    the HandlerRegistry in the client code the only way?
    Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    In 7.0, you can do this in a handler:
    import weblogic.webservice.binding.soap.HttpClientBinding;
    String url = http://my/new/address/;
    sslAdapter = null; //only needed for ssl
    Binding binding = new HttpClientBinding( url, sslAdapter );
    context.setProperty( WLMessageContext.BINDING_PROP,
    binding );

    Manoj, thanks for the response.
    We'd definitely like to see a client side dd at some point, but
    can work with the API's for now. Thanks much for adding this as
    a feature request.
    On another subject:
    I need to determine the target/endpoint URL from my client-side
    request handler. Again, this was something we were able to do in
    axis, but is currently not part of the JAX-RPC standard (JSR101).
    I could be missing something, but haven't seen any way of
    determining the target URL given only the SOAPMessageContext.
    The only way seems to be if it were passed as a "standard"
    property in the SOAPMessageContext (this is one way it is done
    in axis).
    I imagine this will someday be standardized in JAX-RPC (I can
    think of many uses for this feature, other than our own). In the
    meantime, could you also add this as a feature request for WLS?
    Thanks again,

    True. In WLS 7.0 there are no client side dd in which you can specify

    hopeing that JSR109 will define the dd.
    It is quite easy to register the handlers through APIs. Let us know
    if
    that will not help you.
    I will add client side dd as a feature requst for the next release.

  • RMI client side callbacks

    Hi all,
    I have an RMI server and a number of clients that run on different machines. What I need to do is, implement the "observer" pattern. i.e.
    in my case, not only the clients call the server, but also the server
    must notify the registered clients when its state changes.
    For that purpose, I suppose, that my clients must also be RMI servers.
    My first question is, is that true what I suppose? Is there any other
    way to implement asynchron client side callbacks with RMI?
    My second question is, if it must be done so (clients are also RMI servers), how can I implement this? Server needs client interface jar
    file, ans client needs server interface jar file at compile time.
    (Important: I do not use any HTTP server from which I can load _Stub
    classes at runtime)
    I don't like this architecture at all and therefore think that there
    may be better solutions. One solution may be to poll the state of the
    server from the clients periodically, so that there is no need for
    callbacks. But that is also not the perfect solution for me.
    Can someone suggest anything else?
    Any idea will be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you

    Hello guvener
    Some time ago, I did exactly what you are thinking about. Here was the strategy.
    1. There was a server program, sitting (obviously) on the server machine, where rmiserver was running. The server class had only a single public method for the calling routines to call.
    2. That public method took, as a parameter, a transaction request. One possible transaction was, "Here is a message for another client." Another possible transaction was, "Listen out for a message for me." For example, a client would call the server with the "listen" transaction or with a "here's a message" transaction.
    3. When the calling method requested a "listen" transaction, the server would enter a "wait" state until it received a message for that particular client.
    4. To prevent blocking, there were three specific strategies:
    (a) The client would call the server with a "listen" transaction in a separate thread.
    (b) There was a "cancel" transaction that would allow a client to cancel its "listen" transaction with the server.
    (c) There was a "close-down" transaction that would allow the server to tell the clients their "listen" transactions had been cancelled, as it was closing down.
    This requires thorough and careful planning. However, once the classes are correctly planned, this strategy is elegant and simple and leads to only a small amount of coding. It's also flexible, without any restrictions on how many transactions a client could request at a time.
    Do be careful to synchronize where applicable!
    I hope this helps.

  • Corba Client-side Servant inheritance

    hi there,
    I'm a student computer science and while running a project we encountered the following problem we couldn't solve(neither could our teachers an neither could the internet come up with anything usefull)
    we tried to make a distributed program using Corba and Idl. in our design the servant class on the client side inherits functions of another servant on the client side. this way we couldn't use the "extends _implbase" way. the idea behind it was to use polymorhism with the client-side servant objects. the search for the holy grail had begun.
    All over the net there were sollutions for making a Tie construction and thus being able to do create a similar design. it needed adjustement in the Server-class and the Server's servant.
    And that was the problem. how to do it on the Client-side.
    does anyone have an idea or example what changes I should make in the Client-class to be able to let the servant implement the operations class of the used interface?

    I'm not sure I really understand your question, but let me try to restate it:
    The client side is also a CORBA remote object (servant), perhaps for callbacks. How do you provide different implementations without subclassing an implBase?
    You kind of answered it yourself. Use the tie approach.
    idlj -fallTIE your.idlWon't that do it? Your client servant is really just a proxy which passes the calls to the local object which implements the operations interface, and can therefore inherit from whatever class.
    Am I missing something?

  • How can i load file into database from client-side to server-side

    i want to upload file from client-side to server-side, i use the following code to load blob into database.
    if the file is in the server-side, it can work, but if it in the client-side, it said that the system cannot find the file. i think it only will search the file is in the server-side or not, it will not search the client-side.
    how can i solve it without upload the file to the server first, then load it into database??
    try
    ResultSet rset = null;
    PreparedStatement pstmt =
    conn.prepareStatement ("insert into docs values (? , EMPTY_BLOB())");
    pstmt.setInt (1, docId);
    pstmt.execute ();
    // Open the destination blob:
    pstmt.setInt (1, docId);
    rset = pstmt.executeQuery (
    "SELECT content FROM docs WHERE id = ? FOR UPDATE");
    BLOB dest_lob = null;
    if (rset.next()) {
    dest_lob = ((OracleResultSet)rset).getBLOB (1);
    // Declare a file handler for the input file
    File binaryFile = new File (fileName);
    FileInputStream istream = new FileInputStream (binaryFile);
    // Create an OutputStram object to write the BLOB as a stream
    OutputStream ostream = dest_lob.getBinaryOutputStream();
    // Create a tempory buffer
    byte[] buffer = new byte[1024];
    int length = 0;
    // Use the read() method to read the file to the byte
    // array buffer, then use the write() method to write it to
    // the BLOB.
    while ((length = istream.read(buffer)) != -1)
    ostream.write(buffer, 0, length);
    pstmt.close();
    // Close all streams and file handles:
    istream.close();
    ostream.flush();
    ostream.close();
    //dest_lob.close();
    // Commit the transaction:
    conn.commit();
    conn.close();
    } catch (SQLException e) {

    Hi,
    Without some more details of the configuration, its difficult to know
    what's happening here. For example, what do you mean by client side
    and server side, and where are you running the upload Java application?
    If you always run the application on the database server system, but can't
    open the file on a different machine, then it sounds like a file protection
    problem that isn't really connected with the database at all. That is to
    say, if the new FileInputStream (binaryFile) statement fails, then its not
    really a database problem, but a file protection issue. On the other hand,
    I can't explain what's happening if you run the program on the same machine
    as the document file (client machine), but you can't write the data to the
    server, assuming the JDBC connection string is set correctly to connect to
    the appropriate database server.
    If you can provide some more information, we'll try to help.

  • How to copy a page( webpart page) with its content using client side.

    How to copy a page(in my case  webpart page) with its content(it may contain webparts) using client code (i mean using SPservices or ECMA script).

    Any suggestion would be helpful. For your information we can do it through UI with the help Site Actions / Manage Content and Structure.But i want to automate it using client side code.Server side code is restricted.
    or can we create a template of an existing page with content without the help of sharepoint designer.
