Webservices migration from weblogic to oracle 10.1.3.0.4

Hi,
Can any one help me regarding the below error iam getting while iam deploying the webservices application . This error is comming only for these classes and not comming for other classes which have date parameters.
D:\jdevstudio1013\jdev\system\oracle.j2ee.10.1.3.36.73\embedded-oc4j\application-deployments\current-workspace-app\nPabWS-nPabWS2-webapp\sep\com\bt\pab\data\runtime\DeviceSync__LiteralSerializer.java:105: error #300: method setLastSyncDtime(java.util.Calendar) not found in class sep.com.bt.pab.data.DeviceSync

instance.setLastUpdatedDtime((java.util.Calendar)member); ^

To workaround the problem, from the DataModel project, right-clicked Project Properties, selected Business Components: Options, unchecked Validate Objects during Compile, and the project compiled successfuly, yet the issue is to have my xml files valid.

  • Migrating from Weblogic to Oracle Application Server 10g

    Hello,
    To respond to this post you will need some basic familiarity with Weblogic.
    I am currently using Weblogic Server 8.1.
    I have an admin machine which is on its own physical hardware, and multiple managed servers. The admin server is a single point of management for all of the managed servers. Each managed server lies on it's own physical hardware and are managed remotely from the admin server.
    Does Oracle Application Server have this type of architecture?
    Lets say I have salesApp.ear and I want to deploy it across multiple physical machines, where would I administer the various physical machines from, and how would I create an instance on each machine?
    Would it be an oc4j instance or an AS instance? What is the difference?

    Forget about this!
    You need a JEE5 server to work with 11g.
    In theory you can develop application for OAS 10.1.3.1 but you must be very very careful which components you use. One new component and you are not able to run it on OAS 10.1.3.1
    If you have to run your apps on OAS 10.1.3.1 stay with JDEV 10g.

  • Migrating applciation from weblogic to oracle 9i application server(OC4J)??????

    Hi,
    I am migrating my ejb application from weblogic to oracle 9i application server.What changes are needed to be made in code and what configuration changes are required.
    In my application i use a couple of session beans wherin a session bean calls the method of the other session bean which acceses the database.I am using a jdbc thin driver for the database connection. is it possible for a session bean to call a method of another session bean which access the database??This concept works well in weblogic where the current application is running.
    The problem is that while migrating the application to the orion server, it gives an OrionCMTException ...
    memory leak..etc.
    Could any one clarify.
    Thanks in advance!!!

    Hi Avi and Harrison,
    Cease Fire avi!!!!.First of all let me clear the issue of posting the same problem twice.Well, when i mentioned the problem the first time , i found the title session bean deployment was not right and few people would look into it as it was a common problem so i thought it would be appropriate if i mentioned the title correctly , so i posted the query again with the change in title.
    Now coming to the answer for ur questions.
    The platform used is MS Windows NT.
    The (OC4J) version is 1.0.2.2.1.
    I am not using JDeveloper.
    The database is oracle 8i and i am using the thin driver.
    The beans to be deployed are stateless session beans.
    The client involved is a web client i.e a jsp application.
    The first session bean is as follows.

  • Webservice migration from 8.x to 12c

    Hi all,
    I have a question regarding the Webservice migration from 8.x to 12c.
    In the 8.x, we use ant task wsdl2service to generate Webservice from WSDL, and 12c that ant task seems no longer exist. We have to use wsdlc instead. But there is a problem:
    Because of we generate Webservice interface from WSDL, and the WSDL defined binding SOAP header inside the input tag, our old wsdl file is RPC document literal wrapped style. Something like:
    <operation name="getData">
      <soap:operation soapAction="" style="document" />
      <input>
      <soap:header message="tns:UserAuthMessage" part="user-Auth-header" use="literal" encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" />
      <soap:body use="literal" encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" />
      </input>
      <output>
      <soap:body use="literal" encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" />
      </output>
    </operation>
    <portType name="AppPort">
      <operation name="getData">
      <input message="tns:GetDataRequest" />
      <output message="tns:GetDataResponse" />
      </operation>
    </portType>
    <message name="UserAuthMessage">
      <part name="user-auth-header" element="wsapi:user-auth-header" />
    </message>
    <message name="GetDataRequest">
      <part name="get-data-argument" element="wsapi:get-data-argument" />
    </message>
    <message name="GetDataResponse">
      <part name="get-data-response-argument" element="wsapi:get-data-response-argument" />
    </message>
    <xsd:element name="user-auth-header" type="wsapi:user-auth-header-wrapper" />
    <xsd:complexType name="user-auth-header-wrapper">
      <xsd:sequence>
      </xsd:sequence>
    </xsd:complexType>
    <xsd:element name="get-data-argument" type="wsapi:get-data-argument-wrapper" />
    <xsd:complexType name="get-data-argument-wrapper">
      <xsd:sequence>
      </xsd:sequence>
    </xsd:complexType>
    <xsd:element name="get-data-response-argument" type="wsapi:get-data-response-argument-wrapper" />
    <xsd:complexType name="get-data-response-argument-wrapper">
      <xsd:sequence>
      </xsd:sequence>
    </xsd:complexType>
    In Weblogic 8.x, the generation would include that soap header as the input premeter, but in 11g, or newer 12c, the wsdlc no longer generate it as input premeter, which impact client, our client have to re-generate all client jar again, because the interface complete changed.
    Just want to know, is there any way to generate soap header for auth as the same as we did in Weblogic 8.x ? Or anyway can don't need re-generate client jar and keep the old WSDL file.
    Thank you.

    The WebLogic Server 8.1 Web services stack has been removed in the WebLogic Server 12.1.1 release. Therefore, WebLogic Server 8.1 Web services applications will no longer work. Oracle recommends that you upgrade such applications to the WebLogic JAX-RPC or JAX-WS stacks, per the instructions in "Upgrading an 8.1 WebLogic Web Service to 12.1.x

    You can use filtering classloaders - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24329_01/web.1211/e24368/classloading.htm#i1097930
    Some examples are given here: http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=6725 (see the "Manipulating class loading" section).

  • JMS issues when migration from weblogic 9.2 to 10.3.5

    We are facing some issues when migration from weblogic 9.2 to 10.3.5
    In  weblogic 9.2 :_
    BMP Entity EJBs used in our project are read-only in nature using entity cache, below is the configuration details
    <!DOCTYPE weblogic-ejb-jar PUBLIC "-//BEA Systems, Inc.//DTD WebLogic 6.0.0 EJB//EN" "http://www.bea.com/servers/wls600/dtd/weblogic-ejb-jar.dtd">
    <weblogic-ejb-jar>

    <entity-descriptor>
    <pool>
    <max-beans-in-free-pool>300</max-beans-in-free-pool>
    <initial-beans-in-free-pool>150</initial-beans-in-free-pool>
    </pool>
    <entity-cache>
    <max-beans-in-cache>3500</max-beans-in-cache>
    <idle-timeout-seconds>100000</idle-timeout-seconds>
    <read-timeout-seconds>0</read-timeout-seconds>
    <concurrency-strategy>ReadOnly</concurrency-strategy>
    </entity-cache>
    Entity beans will get refreshed using the JMS messges. with in the MDB descriptor files(weblogic-ejb-jar.xml) we are using the provider URL directly and XA enabled connection factory is set to false.
    migration to Weblogic 10.3.5_
    With the same configurations MDB are not not getting deployed in weblogic 10 with some exception, so we removed the provider URL from weblogic-ejb-jar.xml and changed the JMS configuration to use foreign JMS and XA enable connection factory is set to true. Now when ever the JMS message is triggered Entity bean is not getting refreshed with the updated values. i.e values are stale.
    Can some one look into this and provide your inputs to resolve this issue.

    I think the Entity bean refresh problem appears to be unrelated to MDBs. The MDB is only responsible for getting the message to your application (which in turn interacts with Entity beans). You might want to try posting your question to an EJB newsgroup.

  • Migration from Weblogic 7.0 to 8.1

    Hi,
    I have this project where we have to migrate from Weblogic Portal 7.0 to 8.1 . I have a few questions,

    Thanksfrom what i remember about webflow the proxy thing was just an IDE thing and as used to kind uf break up you weblows in to nested ones. Pageflow do support tru nested pageflows

  • Migration from Progress to Oracle

    Could you tell me if there is a tool for migrate from Progress to Oracle?

    try ispirer.com who have a tool which does this.
    Be aware tho that you may need progress's data server product if you do this and it is expensive to license.

  • DB Migration from MYSQL to ORACLE Using Offline Capture

    Hi
    Am doing a database migration from MySQL to Oracle using SQL Developer (version 2.1.1.64). So far, I've successfully captured the MySQL database and converted it to the Oracle Model. However, when generating offline scripts to create the converted model schema into Oracle DDL scripts it managed to generate SQL to create: 1) User 2) Sequences 3) Tables 4) Triggers and 5) constraints.
    It has created the SQL to add the primary key constraints and index constraints. Although it did the foreign key constraints in the SQL, the foreign key constraints seems to have missed the cascading options for the foreign key constraint. I.e. theres no reference of whether the foreign key constraint will restrict on delete or cascade etc.
    We have a foreign keys in the MySql database that have different cascading options and these have not being ported over into the migration SQL. Therefore, all the foreign keys generated in the SQL by default are cascade to restrict on delete.
    Does 'Generate Oracle DDL' not take into account a foreign key's on delete cascading option?
    Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hello,
    that reminded me for the following thread:
    Migration Microsoft SQL Sever 2005 to Oracle 11g cascade on delete problem
    That is a similar issue, isn't it?
    I opened a bug for that, and it will be fixed in SQL Developer 3.1 (not in any 3.0 Early Adopter version). If you hit the same issue, there is no other way then using the workaround as used in the mentioned thread.

  • Problem while migrating from Sybase to Oracle using Quick Migrate

    Hi,
    For SQL Developer version 2.1, while migrating from sybase to oracle, Using Quick migrate, during data move step, for the rows having ''(Blank) values in TEXT data type in SYBASE, which is convertd to CLOB in Oracle, the migration for that table terminates at that row.
    However, NULL values in Sybase TEXT data type are successfully inserted in Oracle CLOB.
    How can we overcome this?

    reproduced and see exception in console, bug logged.

  • Migrating from Sybase to Oracle

    Hi!
    Can someone tell me, how to migrate from Sybase to Oracle.
    Thank U.

    Hi,
    You don't say if you have used the SQL*Developer migration workbench for the migration so far.
    This has a feature for transferring data offline which should do what you want.
    Have a look at the documentation linked from -
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/migration//workbench/index_sqldev_omwb.html
    or at -
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12151_01/index.htm

  • Migrating from Progress to Oracle

    Hi,
    Wonder if someone's migrated from Progress to Oracle. What tools are available ? what are the constraints/pitfalls/limitations/restrictions ? I need to understand the overall migration process (not having done one yet). What are the tools ? what the procedural steps specifically to go from Progress to Oracle ?
    If someone has done such project, I can use some highlights (if you can share your knowledge/experince).
    Much appreciate any response.
    Rohit.

    Here is a bit of an update gathered from my own research on this issue. Hopefully, it can help someone with the same requirement as mine.
    1. Oracle Migration WorkBench does NOT have support for Progress yet and according to Oracle sales, it may never be made available. Thus MWB is not an option.
    2. Oracle Migration Toolkit is a possibility as it does have support going from Progress 6.x and 7.x to Oracle 7. The limitation here is that you can only go up to Oracle 7 from Progress 6.x or 7.x. In this case, I can migrate to Oracle 7 and then once all is well, upgrade Oracle to 8i or whatever.
    3. The last option is, if migration toolkit does not work out, go the traditional route which is to export/extract Progress out into flat files and then load into Oracle using SQL Loader.
    RMM.
