WebServices Wizard

Hi !
I am having a strange error.
The following code works, in that it prints the WSDL as an output

  WRITE:/ r_str .
ENDLOOP .
However, if I try to use the Enterprise Services wizard to create a record for consuming this as a WebService, I get an exception
Exception occurred in communication framework:Error in HTTP Framework:404conn failedhttp://www.webservicex.net/BibleWebservice.asmx?
WSDL
Exception of class CX_SLIB
Could anyone help me in setting up the missing entries to enable me consume this as a WebService ?
TIA.
Cheers,
Ashok.

Hi Durai,
I am really sorry for the prolonged delay.
I have tried your suggestion, but I still get "Not implemented exception" of class CX_SIDL_INTERNAL_ERROR.
Using a URL Destination, I get a "Exception occurred in communication framework:Error in HTTP Framework:404conn failed" exception.
Any ideas ?
Cheers,
Ashok.

  • Jdev-drop5 build 29- webservice wizard (WSDL to JAVA)

    Hello folks,
    We have have encountered a situation with Jdeveloper – webservices wizard.
    This happens when we try to generate the java classes from the wsdl and schemas
    To generate the javaTypes from the xsd we use the JDEV wizard.
    Here’s what we see:
    EquipmentType.java is supposed to be generated by the wizard from EquipmentType.xsd (schema) when it processes the
    wsdl, which has an operation with parameters pertaining to EquipmentType
    1. With JDEV TP4, it works fine. The java types are generated with no issues.
    2. Om using JDEV – Drop5 (Build 26 and Build 29)
    The java types are not generated and the wizard errors of saying that ‘EquipmentType.java’
    does not exist, when actually it is supposed to generate this file.
    Please help.
    thanks
    -Prashant

    Prashant,
    As you are obviously an oracle employee using oracle internal builds, it seems you should ask this in an internal forum.
    None of us in the "wild" have access to drop5 - at any rate, check Frank's reply on the other place you crossposted this to.

  • Missing class: oracle.jdevimpl.webservices.wizard.WSDLDoc

    Hi,
    I downloaded and installed the latest JDeveloper (11.1.1.2.0). However, there seems to be a missing component or wizard. I uninstalled and re-installed with no better results. The missing component is the "Business Tier" section where I should be able to select webservices, etc. When I run the "Create WSDL Document" wizard I see the error message listed in the subject above. Additionally, when I navigate to "File > New >" the "Business Tier" node does not appear, just "General" and "Client Tier" as viewed in the "All Technology" tab.
    Any thoughts? Is there an additional install that I missed.
    Cheers,
    Ty

    Shay,
    I do have the studio version, but I was in the "Java Edition" role. Once I switched out of it the additional components presented themselves.
    Thanks for the tip!
    Cheers,
    Ty

    could somebody tell me please how to make it work using the wizard? i need this webservice client working in a few days, and I barely know anything about java language or methods, so if any of you know how to make it work it would be of great help. In case this is not possible, it would also be of help to learn how to invoke a method from a service when all I have is the .wsdl Thanks

    Maybe I could raise a bit on this thread :-)
    I really would like to point out that it's not nice to have for a SessionBean created a JAX-RPC web service. I mean, you sit then there and wait for your implementation of
    public void setSessionContext(final SessionContext sc)
    to be called by the container but nothing happens, because it's a JAX-RPC WS and not a EJB WS :-)
    Thanx!

  • Where is the WebService Wizard?

    Hi All,
    some time ago the WD designtime (SE80) offered a wizard for easy web service consumption.
    I can't find the wizard anymore. Where has it gone?

    That's all the service call wizard has ever done.  You can choose between a Function Module, any class, the assistance class (if you have one), and a web service proxy class.
    What would you want it to do if not call the proxy class?

  • Unable to create webservice from EJB due to wrong wizard configuration

    Hi All,
           I was trying to create a webservice from a EJB(session bean).I executed following steps :
    1. I created the bean in one EJB project.
    2. Then created another Enterprise Project in whichEJB projects .jar file is included.
    3. Now when i right click "ejb-jar.xml" to create a webservice ,webservice wizard
       appears in which Server and WS runtime configuration are set properly.
       But it displays following error message on the top : "Select a service Project Type".
       If i click on the link on the wizard to select a "service Project type" the drop down for the same comes empty.The value for 'Service Project' is already defaulted
    as "Webservice Project ".If i go to windows->preferrences->Webservcies->ProjectTopology i found two entries in the service project type list :
                         1.Dynamic Web project
                         2.SAP Web Project
         But there is no entry for Webservice Type project.Can any one help me out
    how to solve this issue ?

    MyService myservice = new MyService(url, new QName("urn:drs.test.com",
    "MyService"));
    myTester = myservice .getTester();

  • WebService generation from existing WSDL file :(

    Hello,
    I have just tried to create a WebService from an existing WSDL (which has been developed and validated with Eclipse) with JDeveloper and got the follwing stack trace. I do not think, that this error message is very usefull, because I can't see the point where it referes to my WSDL document. By the way, the Eclipse validation went through without having any trouble.
    Here are my JDeveloper coordinates to give you the chance to follow up:
    - Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.1.0
    - Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.1.0_GENERIC_090615.0017.5407
    Running JDeveloper in MacOSX:
    - Version 10.5.8
    - Build 9L31a

    Hello puthanampatti,
    that was exactly what I tried right now ;-)
    I figured that JDeveloper has a more strict validation than Eclipse and recognizes white spaces within certain tags.
    When I have cleaned my WSDL and XSD files I started with a new procedure of generating WebServices (form local JDeveloper files) and encountered the following issue:

    Error in PL/SQL WebService Creation
    We are using Jdeveloper Oracle IDE 9.0.3.9.93.
    I am trying to convert a simple function inside a package whose specification is as follows:
    package opera_util as
    Function get_codes_in_string

    in_separator in varchar2 default ',' ) return varchar2;
    end opera_util;
    This gives me following error

    Any Ideas?

    Hi,
    Could you re-try publication, running jdevw.exe instead of jdev.exe, please? This will send some extra information to a console.
    I have a feeling something may be going wrong when JPublisher and SQLJ is invoked by the generator, and they both print out errors and warnings to the console. Post the information from the console here and we'll be able to figure out what's going wrong.
    Thanks,
    Alan.

    Please help how to overcome this error.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi Noman,
    Can you try running the URL in the browser and check if you are able to "view" the wsdl?
    For the second issue, i feel it could be because of the firewall / proxy issue. Try setting the proxy (if you are using one) in your jdeveloper-> Tools->Preferences->Web Browser and Proxy section.
    -Arun
    P.S : Post the JDeveloper version you are using in "all" the questions, which would help us to give precise answer. From the URL(http://localhost....), i guess you are using JDev 11.1.1.2.0, but you need to confirm.

  • Is there a bug with stateful WebServices in JDeveloper 10.1.3.1 ?

    Hi
    I created an ultra simple JAX-RPC Webservice from the following class using the JDeveloper WebService Wizard:
    class myWebService
      private static int SessionId;
      public myWebService() {SessionId++;}
      public int getSessionID() {return SessionId;}
    } I declared this WebService as Stateful with Session Scope. The Timeout is 600s;
    Running this WebService in JDeveloper 10.1.3 (using the generated HTML-Testinterface) I see that "getSessionID" returns the same ID on each invocation. Obviously state is managed correctly.
    However, running the same WebService in JDeveloper 10.1.3.1 I see that "getSessionID" returns a different ID on each invocation. Obviously state has been lost.
    Is this a bug in JDeveloper?
    Thanks for your help.
    Frank Brandstetter

    Is anyone using stateful webservices with JDeveloper 10.1.3.1 ?

  • Changing Database connection on webservice deployment

    Hi All,
    I am having a problem changing the Database connection when deploying a PL/SQL generated webservice.
    What I have done is to use the WebService wizard to create a webservice based on a database Pl/SQL procedure. During this you have to specify the database connection (which initially is our dev server).
    When I come to deploy the service to our production platform I want to change the database descriptor name to point to an existing App Server data source.
    This is the problem - the Database Connection information is protected in the properties of the webservice - which means I cannot deploy to our production platform with the connection names I need.
    I can change the names of the Connections defined in the Connections tab - but then I cannot access the webservice in JDev.
    Everytime I deploy to our production platform I keep getting the development data sources created.
    Basically I need to develop a PL/SQL webservice using a Development connection (with a unique connection name), and then deploy to a production application server (10g AS) with a different connection name that points at our production env.
    I could create generic names, but that then would make my development system very confusing with the potential of messing up the production platform.
    Anyone got any ideas????
    Thanks and Regards
    Neil

    When you deploy the web service to the app server, if the connection to the other database is available from JDev at deployment time, the data sources xml file should be set up correctly with the db connection info. Otherwise this will have to be modified by hand on the app server to contain the connection details for the other DB.
    There are 3 files that will also have to be hand modified to reflect the different db connection details. 2 deployment descriptors, web.xml and oracle-webservices.xml which have references to the connection's jndi name, and also one of the JPublisher generated classes (the one whose name ends in 'Base') also has references to the jndi name (to look up the connection from the data source file) which will have to be modified, recompiled and redeployed.
    The simplest way to change the connection would actually be to leave everything alone and just modify the data sources xml file on the server such that the same jndi lookup points to a new connection, but it looks like the customer wants to change the name as well.
    An alternative to all this hand editing is to regenerate the service against the producion DB connection, test & then deploy the service.

  • Using XI WebService in CAF as external service with Logical Destination?

    Hello,
    I created a scenario WebService -> XI -> WebService in a PI7.1 system. I used the Web Service Wizard in order to generate a WSDL. If I test it for example in XMLSpy it works fine.
    We then imported this WSDL into CAF as external service. That also works.
    Now we have to map the CAF Service to a logical Destination. This has to be maintained in NWA. But here we need a URL to the WSDL. I cannot use the local WSDL Filed which I from that WebService Wizard.
    Is there any generic URL were I can get the WSDL for the WebService which calls the XI Interface?
    Thanks and Best Regards

    Good Idea. I tried that. I added the WSDL to a Web Module and deployed it with the CAF ear module. It is now available via: http://vmw2469.wdf.sap.corp:50000/testxi/GLAccountPostingSync_Out_PI71.wsdl
    If I test it directly in WSNavigator it works fine,  but if I map my CAF Service to the logical Destination which is also using that URL, I get the following error:
    com.sap.engine.services.webservices.espbase.query.exceptions.TechnicalException: Deserializing WSDL stream http://vmw2469.wdf.sap.corp:50000/testxi/GLAccountPostingSync_Out_PI71.wsdl failed
    If I try to find the service via the function "Search by Logical Destination" I get the following error:
    Invalid content type while requesting http://vmw2469.wdf.sap.corp:50000/testxi/GLAccountPostingSync_Out_PI71.wsdl. Expected Content-type: text/xml, received Content-type: content/unknown, used user to connect: most
    Has someone any idea what the problem could be?
    Thanks and Best Regards

    nowdays, most of the webservices(free of cost) they are re-locating the service to somewhere else
    anyhow, some of the service had been stopped.
    so please post which web service are you trying access(if it belongs to public).
    if it is private web service dont post here

  • Web services wizard hangs

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a stub/skeleton for an external wsdl file. I click the next button and the tool just hangs. Eventually it comes back with "cannot locate wsdl file".
    I have tried with proxy turned on and off but I get the same result.
    However I can open up the wsdl file in IE. I then save the wsdl file locally and use the wizard again to access the locally saved wsdl file. I provide proxy information including userid and password and now everything works.
    I am not sure as to what is wrong with webservices wizard not able to access external wsdl files.
    Regards,
    Madhav

    Thanks Brian.
    I am using the fully qualified hostname to access the external wsdl file.
    eg: http://www.xml-webservices.net/services/maths/calculator.asmx?WSDL
    Our HTTP proxy requires us to provide a username and password. When I handle it in java code, everything works fine only if I use the SOAPHTTPConnection object and not the OracleSOAPHTTPConnection object.
    You mention that the HTTP stack in JDeveloper 9i does not support username and password for HTTP proxy. Will this feature be offered in the future.
    I use another webservice toolkit called Glue and in there everything works fine !
