I am new to this game and was wondering can i build a fully
functioning professional website to sell things on with dreamweaver
cs3 if so were can i get help. I need to start from scratch and the
only thing i have found is how to build a personal one>

may be other ways... these come to mind right now)
1 is to completely write your own shopping cart and all of

My wife wanted an online store and I don't have the skill to
do #1
and didn't have the time to do #2 so I opted for #3 and
PayPal
The LOOK of the store is how she wanted, and PayPal, via code
they
provide on their site and which I modified (our store name)
does
the actual shopping cart and credit card processing (it has
been
awhile, but I think PayPal also has sample store code to go
with
the actual code for the "buy now" code to run the shopping
cart)
Since the shopping cart code from PayPal works in any design
of
store page you are free to spend your time on how the page
looks,
and don't have to worry about the buying process (take a look
at
her page... some cart links are in a spreadsheet format where
there are many similar products, others are in a different
format
when there is a more specific product)

Alternates for Website builder with a Mac

Hi
I have a Mac. Trellis website builder doesn't support Mac and its browsers (Safari, Firefox, etc.) I have a 5 page website for our high school class reunion that I have managed for 5 yrs on my Dell. Now I can't edit it with my new computer.
What do you Mac users do? I might have to rebuild my website, but need suggestions on who is best at hosting it. I liked Verizon because it was part of my account.

I can tell you that I don't use the Verizon site builder to build and maintain my site. I use a program called Taco HTML Edit and then upload the files with the Fetch FTP program.

Multiple Choices RE: Website Builder Forms

Website Builder at Verizon has forms you can add. On one element, a drop down box of choices you can edit the nature of the drop down. At that area you can check "accept multiple choices" or something close to that. I have that checked but the only choice that gets submitted is the last choice highlighted. What am I doing wrong. I appreciate any help and I will work on it some more in the mean time. Thanks! Jack

I tried everything talked about on this thread however here's my issue. I need to do three levels of cascading selections.
Table 1: Country
Table 2: State ( has a one to many relationship between Country and State based on foreign keys)
Table 3: City ( has a one to many relationship between State and City based on foreign keys)
Table 4: District ( has a one to many relationship between City, and District based on foreign keys)
I can cascade user list choice inputs between Country and State (VO 1).
I can also cascade user list choices between State and City (VO 2).
I can also cascade user list choices between City and District (VO 3).
How do I cascade list user choices between VO1 and VO2? Based on the choices selected from the user in VO1, I want to cascade the selection to VO2. etc.

After upgrading to FF4 for Mac OSX.5.8 the Flash-based website builder WIX will not register any keyboard inputs; eg i cannot type in a title or use command+z to undo something, Why is this?

I am using a MacBook Pro with OSX.5.8 installed. I just upgraded to FF4. I have been previously using the online website builder WIX and now when i open up my website to edit it in a separate browser window it does not register my keystrokes. I can edit with the mouse and make changes but i cant type in any titles or names for save files or anything. Shortcut keystorkes like command+z also do not work.

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

I cannot use the add text feature of my tripod website builder with firefox

I have a tripod website which I have had for years, I E, and Firefox no longer work to use the add text feature of the website builder at tripod. I tried Safari, but it isn't letting me put in a link in the text. Is there a way that firefox browser can help with this problem?

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

Link won't open in goddaddy website builder tool

Links won't open when I try to preview using Go daddy website builder tool. I contacted Go Daddy and they said the tool works as designed on their side and suggested that it may be a browser issue. My question is that is there anything I can do to check my browser settings (i.e. security , etc.) that may correct this issue? I also need to check which version of Firefox is installed, I believe my latest version is 6.0 , not sure?

Which website builder is the closest in use to iweb?

I am thinking of leaving iweb before it leaves me. Which website builder is closest in use to iweb? Has anyone used Sandvox or RapidWeaver? Are these close? Is something better/easier/closer to iweb? I'd also want it to be easy to upload to a third party host and as easy as iweb to edit the contents. Thanks.

Dreamweaver is probably not the way to go, as it is very expensive and quite hard to learn.
I have looked at both RapidWeaver and Sandvox and don't particularly like them - you can't start from a blank page and it is not easy to drop and drag items around like it is in iWeb.
Look at something like Freeway Express that is available in the Mac App Store - you can start with a blank page here and this is probably nearer to iWeb. It is certainly cheaper than RapidWeaver.
Also, have a look at Flux 3 that is also available in the Mac App Store. A little harder and more expensive than Freeway.
You then have other choices such as Content Management Systems such as Drupal and Joomla - you can use these if you have hosting with a company or you could try http://www.wordpress.com where you can build a site and it will be published on the WordPress servers, but you can also pay extra to add a domain name. Although WordPress is really for blogs you can build your whole site with it and you can have your blog too.
Also have a look at http://www.weebly.com - this is an online solution where you can create a website and have a blog and there are shopping cart facilities too. There are different levels that you can pay for where you can add your domain to your site etc.
There are a lot of possibilities out there, but in the end you just need to look at what is best for you.

I have a themeforest template which is great in html which I like to adjust, but I need a drag & drop website builder that automatically changes the codes and scripts as I can't program....
I tested some like Bluevoda & wysiwyg webbuilders, but there you can only load their files (.bvd ,...) extensions, not a full site or index.html

Muse is drag & drop but I'm not sure how well it would work with Themeforest templates. Muse could very well make a mess of it.

Text scroll on website is invisible on Mozilla but visible with IE. Used Intuit Website Builder. Thye say it is a Mozilla issue. I have no access to the java HTML code. Even so, how does this get fixed for all who use Mozilla to see?

I am not a web designer. I used Intuit Website Builder to build my company website. The text scroll on the index (home) page is invisible when viewed on Mozilla...but visible with internet Explorer. Intuit said its a Mozilla issue. I am concerned because so many people who use Mozilla will not be able to see the scroll. Help!! BTW, the image scroll on another page on the site (Design A La Carte) is visible on Mozilla and IE.

Website Builder

I am running on OSX 10.9 MacBook Pro. I am trying to find the best way to create a Website for my book writng, so I can Affiliate with iTunes Connect. I do not have iWeb, so I am asking for help in finding out the best way to build a website. I am a total novice with building websites and any help will be appreciated.

Out of curiosity, have you tried using the website builder from a different browser (if using IE, try Firefox, etc.)? Many times issues such as you describe are browser compatibility issues -- Microsoft, for instance, is notorious for "fixing" things the used to work just fine such that they no longer work after an upgrade.

Advice needed for beginner to Flash website building

I have zero knowledge about using Flash. I am being asked by my boss to build a flash web site for our music and video game stores. I built our old site in Dreamweaver.
Does anyone have advice on where i should start? A suggested book that will walk me through beginning to end. I've worked through a few tutiorials but I feel lost as far at the time line and actions.
Any expert advice is appreciated. I need to get started in the next month. I'd like to build it myself instead of outsourcing to someone else.

Using iWeb as a website builder. Heplp please.

Dear all, very sorry to ask what I am sure is a very straightforward question but your help would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to use iWeb as a simple website design tool for a community website I have to build. We have our own hosting server capacity and our own registered domain name. Can I design my site using iWeb and then upload to this 3rd party server and have people go to this site by typing in my domain (such as www.mylocalcommunity.co.uk ? Also, the Apple Store demo suggests the templates have page headings like 'My Page' which i'd want to change. Could I do this so its 'Our Page' for example ? Many thanks for such stupid questions !

In a word Yes.
This is why you have the two options : Publish to .Mac and Publish to a Folder.
You want Publish to a Folder.
You will then upload this folder contents to your hosted site. If empty, that is all you need to do.
If you have a domain you need to tell your registrar which hosting service you want it to point to. That is a bit beyond the scope of a simple iWeb explanation, though ; suffice it to say you could get better info from your hosting service.
In what regards page names, of course you can change them.

After updating to version 2014.3 website build crashes on Save or Save As (new name)

Sequence of events after updating to 2014.3
Opened current build.
Muse window said 1234 assets have changed
Chose to update assets
During review it brought up one item around 17%. I chose to merge with Muse.
Completed updating assets
Published complete site (not just changes), completed successfully
Removed the item that was shown during the review (see above)
Re-published site with "changes only" successfull
Attempted to save the website using same name (Save)
Crashed with this error:
"Object UID:U19775 has two (or more) owners: U4308 and U4288"
Reopened the same .muse file
It opened the site with a "-recovered" tag added
Did not say anything about assets changed like the first time.
Published to a new site successfully
Tried to Save As to a new .muse file
Crashed and gave this long error:
"UIDs With Multiple Owners: ImageFrame owned by PagePageItem and PagePageItem and PagePageItem and BaseLink and PagePageItem and PagePageItem"
What can I try to resolve this or should I upload my .muse file for an examination?

Delete all files in this folder C:\ProgramData\Adobe\SLStore
Delete all files in this folder C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Adobe\SLCache
Delete all files in this folder C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
1.Save a copy of this file to your desktop C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Muse CC
2.Save a copy of this file to your desktop C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Muse CC Libraries\2014.3
3.Save a copy of this file to your desktop C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Muse CC Library Then Delete these files in the original folders.
When you are finished with the reinstall, open any Mulib file from wihin muse to re-establish the library folder ,
copy files from the respective library folders that you have saved to your desktop and put them back in the library foders,
so you dont have to reinstall all your Mulibs
Now Uninstall all Muse Apps & restart your Computer
Then start this process again
1) First Install Muse_2014_2_CC_LS24 which will install to c:/
2) Then Install Muse_2014_3_CC_LS24 Which should automatically install to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Muse CC 2014
When this is complete you should have no folders left in C:\Adobe Muse CC 2014 (DONT DELETE THE FOLDER JUST LEAVE IT THERE)
