Website Load Screen Issues

Hello everyone,
I'm fairly new to flash web design.  I have designed 2 websites so far.  www.byfaithmusic.com and www.gravityyouth.com.  I haven't had many problems with our group website (By Faith Music), but I am having a difficult time with the load screen on the Gravity Youth web page.  When the website first appears, it is a blank screen for about 52 seconds and then the load screen finally comes on at 47% loaded.  I want it to appear at 1% and continue until fully loaded.  Can anyone please help me out.  Thanks in advance
Weston

Hi,
Firstly, I think that there may exist a problem that your entire website is made of 1 swf file, that's why some of the elements might load before the preloader. But, it just might be, it's probably not.
But, if your website or the part of it does exist in the main swf file (that means you don't load swf files during runtime), the case might be that the preloader is in one of MovieClips that also contains other heavy elements. That way, the whole MovieClip needs to be loaded, before it can be displayed. I may be wrong, if so, please correct me.

  • Boot/Loading Screen Issue - suspecting MBR (MacBook Pro 11,3)

    Recap:
    Bought MacBook Pro 11, 3 at release - decided to install windows 7 64bit via BootCamp. Ended up with quite a few problems, decided to abandon task, went back to BookCamp to restore the partitions. Thought all was well, but I have one little issue.
    When I enter my password to pass through to the loading screen, my screen glitches for a second - basically loading the a smaller (1/4 size) image of my desktop, then flashes to full screen and continues to operate normally.
    Can anyone please tell me what's going on with my MBR reports?

    Thoughts? What can I do to restore the MBR?

    generally, when you hear the apple beep codes you wont be able to boot up as usual.  It may be an indication of ram that is ready to fail.  Bring it in to Apple to be on the safe side.

  • Loading screen Issue

    I have a course with three .flv files which I have set to
    progressive video download - the whole course folder contains
    around 50 MB including all the video files.
    When you launch the course from the web server, the loading
    screen only appears for about 1 second, then slide 1 hangs,
    half-faded out for around 30 seconds until it loads and continues
    on fine from there. (That 30 second wait is too long for users who
    would probably think it was broken and log off before it gets
    there!!)
    Why doesn't it remain on the loading screen? Is it something
    to do with the fact that the loading screen is linked to the main
    .swf and does not take into account the other files? Can anyone
    suggest some js that I can include to make the preloader check the
    progresss of the .flv files?
    Hope you can help!!
    Many thanks :)

  • Pesky "Connection was reset" pop-up when trying to access a website using WildBlue ISP (at home). Website loads without issues on other ISPs

    About two weeks ago (approx the time of my update to Firefox 3.6.8 for Mac), I started getting "The connection was reset" pop-ups whenever I tried to access a site called wanderlodgeownersgroup.com from my home (using WildBlue satellite internet service).
    I took my computer to the library yesterday, and using their ISP, I was able to connect to this favorite site of mine.
    I have cleared the cookies and cache a number of times.
    Any ideas what the trouble could be?
    Thank you !!!

    I'm not clear on where you are seeing that text. When I view Google's cached page from the page found in this search
    https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Asitetrail.com%2Faskearth.com
    It doesn't match yours exactly. There is an iframe with a Google map in it in the "Hosting Analysis" section, which in your pasted page seems to be the "Site Server" section.
    Which Google site did you search?

  • Website loads then screen goes blank

    When I access a certain website (eyetube.net), the website loads and displays for about 5 seconds and then the screen goes blank.  All software has been updated and Java latest version has been updated.

    Seems to work fine here, but it's possible that the Flash-based ads on the site are causing the problem for you.  Try installing ClickToFlash, which will block all Flash content unless you choose to load it, and see if that fixes it.

  • Mac Mini Server Boot Camp Windows 8.1 White Screen Issue

    Hello Apple Peeps!
    I have a Mac Mini Server 2012 which I have had for around 6 months. I use it quite a lot mainly for Music Production on the OS X side and Graphic Design on the Windows side.
    I recently decided to factory restore it as I wanted to spring clean it and reorganise the way some of my apps were installed. The way I had it set up was it was running OS X on one SSD and Windows 8.1 (installed using Boot Camp) on the other SSD. The way I went about the factory restore was I first used disk utility to erase/format the Windows SSD to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and then went about the factory restore of OS X onto the other SSD as normal (following instructions from the Apple website).
    The issue I am having now is that my newly installed Windows 8.1 (used solely on a single SSD) is hanging on a white screen for quite a long time before the Windows splash screen shows up, where before when I would boot or restart into Windows there was no white screen and it would go straight into the Windows splash screen and load to the desktop very quickly.
    So my question is...
    Why do I get this prolonged white screen before the Windows 8.1 splash screen appears? How can I get rid of it? It was certainly not present on my previous installation. Can anyone advise me what the computer is doing during this time so that I can do some further research into a solution.
    What I have tried already....
    1) PRAM & SMC reset.
    2) Setting the startup disk to Boot Camp in both OS X and Windows 8.1.
    3) Reinstalling Windows 8.1 through Boot Camp.
    MAC MINI SERVER (LATE 2012), 2.6GHZ QUAD CORE I7, 16GB RAM, 2 x 256GB SSD, OS X 10.10.2, Windows 8.1 (Retail), Boot Camp Assistant (5.1.3), Covered By AppleCare.
    I would really appreciate some help with this ;-)

    I have right clicked on each SSD in Device Manager and selected the option 'Properties' from the drop down menu, which brings me to this window...
    I'm not sure where I can find Device Attributes, I have clicked on each of the tabs in the window above, as far as I can see none of them mention AHCI enabled or anything similar. Thanks for all of your responses by the way...much appreciated!

  • Design/gallery website - loading external SWF asset on splash page

    Hello all,
    This forum has been such a help with my website, i've found the answers to hundereds of questions but I've hit a bit of a brick wall and I wonder if anyone can help me.
    I have recently built a website http://www.intivision.co.uk/ using illustrator/flash/flash catalyst. It's still a work in progress and I'm happy with the gallery pages and general functionality but I'm having major issues with my splash/load screen and a few other niggles.
    The animation on the front page is a looping photo gallery i created in flash (as a .SWF) and imported into Catalyst. It is designed to play (and loop) indefinately after 2seconds of loading the title page. Half the time I access the site the animation does not load at all and just shows a blank screen and my logo. It will appear once the page is refreshed. A very bad first impression.
    I have a feeling this is because the SWF is externally loading the asset (which is only 350kb). Is there a solution or a way to imbed this animation so the entire project won't 'play' until this intro is loaded?
    Thanks - Tom
    ps Any other comments would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks for taking your time! Much appreciated.
    I like not complicated :-)  So it is now loading from the start - stretching over the whole timeline. How do I controll the visibility during the "HOME" = that is invisible?
    This is the code I use to load the external swf:
    var Xpos:Number=0;
    var Ypos:Number=0;
    var swf:MovieClip;
    var loader:Loader=new Loader();
    var defaultSWF:URLRequest=new URLRequest("main_movie_241x700.swf");
    loader.load(defaultSWF);
    loader.x=Xpos;
    loader.x=Ypos;
    addChild(loader);

  • XPS 12 (9Q33, Mid 2013) Laptop Screen Issue

    The issue started occurring just few weeks before the end of warranty. My laptop stopped detecting the the internal screen in Windows. When booted to Windows with no other screen connected, the internal screen is blank. If the external screen is connected during booting, internal screen is enabled but with settings like resolution taken from the external screen causing everything to be shifted to left and the external screen is blank. In fact it seems that Windows thinks the external screen is internal as touches on internal screen are still working. BIOS, Windows recovery, Windows booting are correctly displayed on the internal screen - the problem is with Windows logon screen and further. Also when connected to the external screen, Windows doesn't show internal screen in the dropdown in the Screen Resolution menu.  When using Ubuntu, the OS correctly recognises and works with internal or both screens. I tried reinstalling vanilla windows, next used Dell Recovery to reset to the initial state and nothing helped - this is why I think this isn't Windows issue but hardware issue that affects Windows. I followed some advices from the Dell support portal and tried to install the firmware update (XK8DT) but got "AuxUpdate MFC Application has stopped working" error and couldn't proceed. Installed all drivers including the BIOS update from the Dell website - nothing helped. Run the diagnostics from F12 menu - they all passed reporting no problems. Restored BIOS defaults - no difference. Run Online Helpdesk tests, no problems detected.
    The biggest problem is that I thought the problem is with Windows initially and waited to reinstall it due to being busy at work and not having time to back up all my files and was very disappointed to realise it is not a software issue 3 weeks after my warranty ended.
    Here are two videos I recorded to demonstrate the problem:
    cs_setInnerHtml('video_ccae9f5a-be4c-402a-82d6-a4c87d2c76a3','');
    cs_setInnerHtml('video_cdcdd9d0-3097-4aa1-8d67-7d16970c70cb','');

    Since I haven't got any response I will recap the issue:
    When I boot the laptop with external screen disconnected:
    i can see the BIOS and the Windows loading screen on the internal screen (and Windows recovery etc).
    when Windows is loaded i can't see the logon screen or home screen but a blank screen only.
    when i connect external screen after Windows is loaded, i don't see anything on the internal and external screen.
    When I boot the laptop with external screen connected:
    when I boot and the lid is closed, Windows works perfectly fine on the external screen. When I open the lid, the internal screen is still blank, touch works though.
    when i boot and the lid is open, Windows is displayed on the internal screen and the external screen is blank. The displayed home screen is broken on the internal screen since it uses the settings like resolution from the external screen, since the external screen's resolution is higher.
    In both boot scenarios, when the external screen is connected, the Windows screen properties dialog doesn't show the internal screen, only external.
    I reinstalled windows from the recovery partition but it didn't solve the problem.
    I run diagnostics from the Dell Support website it all passed.
    I updated all drivers including BIOS it didn't help.
    I run BIOS diagnostics, they all pass as on this video:
    cs_setInnerHtml('video_cf0d6ef7-1ca1-4fe1-8ca1-7551bf272166','');
    I don't know what to do, this happened when warranty was still valid, i followed different suggestions from the support page and thought it is a software issue. Didn't reinstall Windows as i had couple of projects behind the schedule and didn't have time to back everything up correctly. After i did reinstall and found that this isn't a software issue, the warranty was already expired by two weeks.

    My iPhone 3Gs randomly shutting off at any given moment. I could be in the middle of a text, a call, or doing some games and it'll just shut off.
    Now here's the unique part. When I go to turn it back on, the apple loading screen pops up but it takes somewhere from 3-5 minutes for it to boot up. Then the lock screen with the time and whatnot shows up. From this point on, my iPhone has a chance to shut itself back down and I have to repeat the process over and over again. Most of the time the lock screen flashes and then goes straight to black (shut down) but sometimes I can make it a few menus before it shuts itself down.
    The only way to keep the iPhone on is to plug it into a charger of any sort. I'm fairly certain it isn't a battery charge issue because this happens at any % of power and sometimes my iPhone can use up all of its charge and not have this happen while other times I can be at 90-100% and it could randomly shut itself down. What can I do in this situation if some has some solution to this problem please let me know on [email protected] Thanks!

    Not sure if this Term is Relevant towards an iPhone but, my iPhone won't Post unless if it's plugged into a Charger.

  • I can't connect to the itunes store and have some problems with other websites. Some websites load OK. I had the same problem on my iPad and changed the DNS, but don't want to do this on my iMac, anyway, surely I should have my router's DNS?

    I can't connect to the iTunes store from my iMac and have problems loading a number of other websites, however some websites load perfectly well. I have had the iTunes store issue on my iPad and resolved it by changing the DNS but surely I should use the DNS for my router. I don't really want to change it for the iMac as I access secure sites with it to internet shop.
    Any ideas, I was going to try loading Chrome but can't get it without going through the iTunes store. Anyway, that is treating the symprom not the cause.

    Adding Open DNS codes to your Network Preferences, should give good results in terms of speed-up as well as added security, (including anti-phishing and redirects) (Full information about Open DNS is here: http://www.opendns.com/home/nobloat ) and further independent information can be read here:
    http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-57338784-263/free-dnscrypt-tool-enhances-ma c-web-security/?tag=mncol;txt
    and here:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/1146064/troubleshootdns.html?t=234
    Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu, and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' add the following two numbers:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
    (You can also enter them if you click on Advanced and then DNS)
    Sometimes reversing the order of the DNS numbers can be beneficial in cases where there is a long delay before web pages start to load, and then suddenly load at normal speed:
