WebUtil_File.FIle_Selection_Dialog error in forms 10g release 2

when I click to butotn to select the file from the OS system by using client_get_file_name function this alert message.
The message;
!!!!oracle.forms.webutil.file. FileFunctions bean not found. WEBUTIL_FILE.FILE_SELECTION_DIALOG_INT will not found.!!!!
I have written the following trigger in when button press
:txt1 :=client_get_file_name(null,null,null,null,opne_file,true);
plz can anybody send me the solution for this

the frmwebutil.jar exists and when I check it from browser it works like
http://osname:8889/forms/java/frmwebutil.jar its works fine, or is there any other way to check plz send me and one more issue is when i check the webutil layout in the form its give oracle.forms.webuitl.ole class function does not implement in bean in the layout and then i try to import that classs from the import java classs it gvies error. I need it very urgently

i have installed developer forms 10g release 2 on my pc.
i logged in as a scott user.
i have created a form and a block of emp table.
when i am going to run the form it will give me TNS:12560 : application protocol error. and ask for username/password. and after enter user scott and password for it it will still TNS error.
when i create it will display scott users tables and logged in successfully.
but at runtime it will give error.

by setting both tnsnames.ora files in database_home and developer_home has solved the problem

1. EXECUTE IMMEDIATE is as server side instruction, so it cannot be used within a Forms pl/sql block.
2. Yes, Indexed arrays by VARCHAR2 work fine in 10gR2 ;o)

Import java classes Exception Error in Forms 10g

Hi,
I have created a jar file using JDeveloper and need to import it in my Forms 10g to be able to call web services. In my forms builder, after I click on Program - Import Classes and give the name of the stub I created, it gives me the following error :

In the above documentation, where it says "Call the Stub from a Forms Application", point no. 1, it tells to go to control panel - system - advanced - environment variables and edit CLASSPATH. The problem is that in my variable, I cannot see CLASSPATH, it has PATH. I had added my jar file in there. Is it because of this that I'm getting the error.
After that I have added the jar file in default.env in CLASSPATH.
I would appreciate your urgent help in this matter.

Well you can create a new variable called CLASSPATH - however, if you are actually seeing the JAR file in the Java Importer then that would assume you are infact seeing the JAR file.
DO you get this problem if you JAR up a simple "Hello world" - if could be that you are not importing all the classes needed . What Jdeveloper version are you using - if its 10.1.3.1 and JAXRPC web services you may need to add an additional JAR to the class.

Sysfader: iexplore.exe - Application Error in Forms 10g

Hi,
I am new to Oracle Forms 10g. When I tried to run the Form, it is giving me an Error saying that
*"The Instruction at "0x06130b58" referenced memory at "0x00000054". The memory could not be "read".*
I am unable to run any Form.
Somebody help me out in this regard.

Please always mention 4 digit version numbers (e.g. 10.1.2.0.2) as well as Operation System, Browser and Java Versions.
Just taking a lucky guess here, but if you are using the default config of forms 10.1.2 on a nowadays OS you have a combo of JInit and IE8 which isn't supposed to work and most likely to crash. If this is the case then use a current Sun JPI instead: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/documentation/forms-jre-131772.pdf
If this is not the case then...well...you might give us a more deeper insight in what you do so we can get an idea what's going wrong.

Error running forms 10g on OC4J

1) Created a table with just one field
2) Created a test form with Forms 10g using wizard with just that table and that field (I connect to oracle with no problems on forms builder)
3) Started OC4J Instance (but i have to leave the command prompt opened to run well)
4) When I run the form, it opens Internet explorer then shows Oracle application server forms service, but with this message ORA-12560 TNS: Protocol Adapter error, I click OK and ask me for a user and password, but the same error!!
IS there any configuration that I have to do on OC4J?? Why I can connect to oracle from sqlplus, enterprise manager and so, but it fails running forms, specifically when open OC4J???

is missing."If your OC4J is not running and you try a URL from a browser, you should be getting a "Cannot find server or DNS Error", not an Oracle error. The only way I could reproduce your error above was to run from Forms Builder with OC4J started and having manually renamed my Registry.dat.
If you didn't edit your Registry.dat (and possible hose it), then someting just went wrong during the install. You could check you installation log. Mine is at C:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory\logs\installActions2006-03-11_03-50-02PM.log and has a single line containing "Registry.dat" showing the target location.
Is this Forms10g R2 on Windows? You could uninstall ODS and reinstall in probably 30 mins to an hour. Maybe you want to consider that.

Did you save the form before running it, in the context of the builder? there is a known bug in this area.

Row_number() function error in forms 10g

I used sentence below in forms 10g then an error occured.
row_number() over(partition by GROUP_L1 order by GROUP_L1, GROUP_L2) RN
error : Encountered the symbol "(" when expecting one of the following : , from
above sentence works well in the Toad (<= oracle client tool).
How can you solve this problem?

Yes Ahmed's Point of View is Correct
you can write a stored procedure on the database and then return the result to Forms. Forms can then call this Stored Procedure.
Alternatively , i believe it's much more easy approach to define a view
view operates just like a table So you can reference this view in any Trigger or any Program Unit.

Need Help - JVM error in Forms 10g in Debug mode

Hello,
This issue has bothered me since I started coding in Forms. If I use an Associative Array with a VARCHAR2 index type, whenever I try to look at the contents of the array, a small JVM aborting messagebox appears with OK as the only option. Once I click OK, I get a Forms error saying it has lost connection with the server. This ONLY happens if I'm trying to look at the contents of the array when it has data. I can see the variable in the debug console just fine when it doesn't have data, but once one value is populated, the JVM aborting message pops up. Another weird caveat is the JVM error will only occur IF you have a debug window open which would display the contents of this array. I can still use arrays of this type IF I don't try and look at the contents in the debugger.
Here is a quick test case. I just have a simple form with one push button. The following code is in the WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger:

Put a breakpoint on the first statement and debug it. If you have the local variables debug window up, the JVM aborting error will appear when you step over the first line. We have submitted a metalink bug report about 3 months ago but never heard anything back. I wanted to post something here incase anyone else has encountered this error and might know how to fix it.

Thank You very much for the solution. I had uninstalled the previous JDeveloper 10g installation and installed a new instance of the same. After which it worked without much of a problem.
However, my application requires to use MySQL database, so how do I tackle such an error. What was wrong with the connection? I mean MySQL instance seemed to work fine. Is there any version with which JDeveloper can work? Right now am using MySQL 5.0.? Please do advise.

FRM-18126 error in Forms 10g

Hello everybody,
I am new to Forms and I have installed Oracle Developer Suite 10gR2 (10.1.2.0.1) on my laptop for study purposes.
When I try to access the online help (Help -> Forms on OTN...) I receive the following error message:
"FRM-18126 could not invoke the browser".
The help advices to "Check to see if the browser specified in the preferences exist.". I checked, in preferences I specified an existing browser.
What else should I do now?
I appreciate any help on this issue.

It's a bug I think, but changing this in the preferences doesn't work. You have to do it in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER --> Software --> Oracle --> Toolkit -->TKBrowser
e.g. C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe

Error in Forms 10g

I tired the suggestion mentioned in replies of my previous message. BUT problem is still there.
OC4J exe is running properly, i mean J2EE container is initialized properly. but when i try to test teh Servlet in browser writting URL: "http://mycomputer:8889/", no home page is displayed. I think error is here.
But i have no idea, how can i make the Servlet working.

not sure what others suggested, but try
http://mycomputer:8889/j2ee to show the homepage. Let me know in case this doesn't work because then we need to find teh prot your server really runs on (on my machine e.g. it 8890 as supposed to 8889)

Display an error msg Forms 10G

How do I display an error message without the next message overwriting the message?
i.e.
message( 'Error: Net Days 1 should be equal to Net Days 2.', NO_ACKNOWLEDGE );

In some cases you can't prevent the current message from popping up in an Alert, but you can mitigate this by always clearing any existing messages using the Clear_Message() built-in before you call the Message() built-in.

The forms were earlier compiled on IAS 9.0.4

The problem was with a few environment variables. Our DBA has changed the convention of f90 and hence the change in environment variables.
The problem is solved now.
