WebUtil_File Function Typo

The defined function "webutil_file.get_file_separator" is actually misspelled in the software. To use it, you have to misspell it as "webutil_file.get_file_seperator". Will this be corrected in future versions?

Tis simply the Olde English spelling, however, yes this (and a couple of other typos that I will leave you to discover) has been corrected

  • Error/Typo in SpryData.js 1.1 filterData function

    I found a simple typo error in the
    Spry.Data.DataSet.prototype.filterData function within SpyData.js
    (v1.1)
    (You guys very well have found this, but for anyone
    interested)
    On line 1440 the code:
    1440: if (this.unfilteredData)
    1441: {
    1442: this.data = this.unfiltredData;
    1443: this.unfilteredData = null;
    1444: }
    has the error that 1442 that data get's set to
    "this.unfiltredData" (missing 'e')!
    The result of this is that if you have unfilteredData set
    then data gets clobbered and then so does the
    unfilteredData.
    The correct version of 1442 is:
    1442: this.data = this.unfilteredData;
    -tim

    Good eye, Tim.
    It's already been fixed in the release that comes out
    shortly...
    Thanks for reporting.

    -     I’m able to start the application out of the Web Dynpro content manager with “run” => only the user interface is displayed without any functionality
    -     The “normal” start over the NWDS fails => error text

    There two different URLs in use.
    Start via NWDS:
    http://frasapp562:50000/webdynpro/dispatcher/J08_Flugdat_Daventdcflight~xxx.com/FlightListApp
    Start via web dynpro content manager:
    http://frasapp562:50000/webdynpro/dispatcher/xxx.com/aventdc~flight/FlightListApp
    For test purposes, we started the BAPI (BAPI_Flight_Getlist) on the ABAP system directly. It works.
    Any ideas about the system behaviours (different URLs and missing functionality)?
    Thanks a lot in advanced!

  • BLOB in DECODE function

    Hi All,
    I am new to sql. I want to use decode for BLOB datatype. For this i written a query like below.
    Here user_data is of type BLOB.
    select DECODE(length(user_data), 0, null, file_data) user_data from user_table;
    I have tried the other way by using case like below. Its worked fine
    select
    CASE
    WHEN LENGTH(user_data )=0
    THEN NULL
    ELSE user_data
    END user_data from user_table;
    What i made wrong in the first query?
    Thanks
    Jimmi

    >
    Its just a wrong typo
    >
    Thanks.
    The problem is that this decode
    select DECODE(length(user_data), 0, null, file_data) user_data from user_table; expects you to return a number and you are returning a BLOB.
    Were you getting 'ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected BLOB got NUMBER'?
    See the DECODE function in the SQL doc

  • Doc Save As and Trusted Function

    I have been reading over the forum and the adobe help files regarding this. I think I am close but since I need to get my IT department to assist in placing the js files where they have to go, I thought I might ask the forum if I am on the right track
    I still have to make sure the field values will not include an illegal characters. They wont be empty as the forms will be coming directly from our system -prefilled
    Currently these forms automatically email (although staff still have to hit the actual send button) when staff go to print the document.  The people who get these forms are just finding it a bit hard to keep up with the emails and have asked to just have the files save to a folder so they can look at when they have time
    This is what I have for my trust propagator function.  I assume this is the only js file I will need as it incoporates the trusted function?
    mySaveAs = app.trustPropagatorFunction(function(doc,path)
      app.beginPriv();
       doc.saveAs(path);
      app.endPriv(); })
    myTrustedSpecialTaskFunc = app.trustedFunction(function(doc,path)
      // Privileged and/or non-privileged code above
      app.beginPriv();
       mySaveAs(doc,path);
      app.endPriv();
      // Privileged and/or non-privileged code below });
    I got this code from the Adobe Help
    then I want to have this code in the Document Did Print area
    var name = this.getField("FormValues.accountNames_0").value
    var folio =this.getField("FormValues.folioNumber_0").value
    myTrustedSpecialTaskFunc(this, "/w/Public/AccountOpening/" + name + " " + folio,pdf);
    I have to read where to put the js file as I have seen some comments on the forum that where you place the js file has changed for those with Adobe X and Windows 7
    Would anyone be be able to let me know if I am on the right path before I get IT involved.  I suppose I could test the code on my own laptop to see if it would allow me to save the form.....
    Thank you

    Read this: The Acrobat Ninja: Acrobat 10.1.1 JavaScript changes
    You have to manually create the folders that aren't present, and they must be named correctly.
    It's a good idea to use the valueAsString property instead of the value property to get the field values, since you're using the results as strings. It probably won't make a difference here, but it's a good habit to get into. You also have a typo in that last line of code. It should be:
    myTrustedSpecialTaskFunc(this, "/w/Public/AccountOpening/" + name + " " + folio + ".pdf");
    It would be a good idea to make sure those field value aren't blank if there's a chance that they could be.
    Also, consider using a try/catch block for the doc.saveAs call, and look at the return value so you can give the users a more helpful error message than what the default will be if something goes wrong.
    If you need help with any of this, post again.

  • Error with passing a preparedstatement to another function.

    Hello,
    I'm quite new to the subject, but I've managed to stumble across a problem which I haven't been able to figure out by myself.
    I have a super class with the following function:
    protected boolean handleUpdateQuery(PreparedStatement preparedstatement, Connection connection) {
            succes = false;
            try {
                preparedstatement.executeUpdate();
                succes = true;
            } catch(Exception e) {
                e.printStackTrace();
            return succes;
        }And a child-class with the following function:
    public boolean updateArtikelSoort(int soortid, String naam, int btw, String verhuur) {
            succes = false;
            queryString = "UPDATE artikelsoort SET naam = ?, btw = ?, verhuur = ? WHERE soortid = ?";
            try {
                connection = super.openConnection();
                preparedstatement = connection.prepareStatement(queryString);
                preparedstatement.setString(1, naam);
                preparedstatement.setInt(2, btw);
                preparedstatement.setString(3, verhuur);
                preparedstatement.setInt(4, soortid);
                if(super.handleUpdateQuery(preparedstatement, connection)) {
                    succes = true;
            } catch(Exception e) {
                e.printStackTrace();
            super.closeConnection(connection);
            return succes;
        }This gets called by:
    if(sub.equals("wijzigdoorvoer")) {
                    artikelsoortdao.updateArtikelSoort(Integer.parseInt(request.getParameter("soortid")), request.getParameter("naam"), Integer.parseInt(request.getParameter("btw")), request.getParameter("naam"));
                }Somewhere along the line things get a bit messy, I've been trying to play around with preparedstatement, but all my tries worked, so I think the problem is here:
    if(super.handleUpdateQuery(preparedstatement, connection)) {
                    succes = true;
                }Maybe the problem is very obvious, but like I've said I'm just making my first steps into Java ;)
    I hope I can get some help here.
    Kind regards.

    Sometimes...
    I feel ashamed to type, after reading my forumpost for typo's
    I saw something was wrong with the parameters in my call to updateArtikelSoort();

  • WEBUTIL_FILE.FILE_SELECTION_DIALOG

    Hi,
    Forms 10gR2

    Webutil 1.0.6
    I've got a problem with the function WEBUTIL_FILE.FILE_SELECTION_DIALOG : even if I specify a start directory like this :
    v_file := webutil_file.file_selection_dialog (directory_name=>'c:\tmp', title=>'Open file');
    the dialog box shows "My documents" files and not "c:\tmp" files.
    Obviously, I've got the same problem with :
    - FILE_OPEN_DIALOG
    - FILE_SAVE_DIALOG
    - CLIENT_GET_FILE_NAME

    Hello,
    Quick and probably dumb answer : have you tested with the standard parameter passing ?

    Can any body tell me how to do. Both are in same user.

    I've always known the French were weird, but shift for a period?That's not all, its shift for all the numbers too and a bunch of letters are swapped.
    http://www.forlang.wsu.edu/help/kfrench.gif
    I first used unix and vi on a French system, spent all my time looking down at the keyboard and couldn't understand why I kept deleting the wrong character when switching from insert to edit mode after making a typo of which there were plenty.
    Finally I caught the cursor moving back one space when in edit mode, I have hated vi ever since.

  • Virtual function problem with SC 4.2

    Hi
    I'm using SC CC 4.2
    [CC -V
    CC: WorkShop Compilers 4.2 18 Sep 1997 C++ 4.2 patch 104631-04]
    not the latest patch, I realize.
    The following bit of code:
    ProcessParameters *ppp = &(_config.process_params_);
    ppp->save_to_file(String("abc"));
    config.processparams_.save_to_file(String("xyz"));
    does not work as I'd expect it to!
    config.processparams_ is of type ProcessParametersEnhanced,
    and the definition of this, and its base class, looks like:
    class ProcessParameters
    public:
    virtual int save_to_file(String filename);
    and
    class ProcessParametersEnhanced : public ProcessParameters
    public:
    virtual int save_to_file(String filename);
    (I've cut everything else out of the class definitions for clarity, and I've changed the names a bit as well, hopefully without typos).
    ppp->save_to_file(String("abc"));
    calls ProcessParameters::save_to_file(String)
    even though ppp points to an instance of ProcessParametersEnhanced, and the function is virtual.
    I've tried building a small test application, using the minimum class interfaces, but this works as I'd expect (it also works fine with gcc).
    I'm getting deseperate. Is there a bug in SC4.2 whereby it fails to resolve virtual functions correctly?
    TIA

  • [8i] Help with function with parameters (for workday calculation)

    Let me start by saying, I've never written a function before, and I don't have access to create a function in my database (i.e. I can't test this function). I'm trying to come up with a function that I can ask my IT department to add for me. I'm hoping someone can take a look at what I've written and tell me if it should work or not, and if this is the right way to go about solving my problem.
    I am trying to create a function to do a very simple workday calculation (adding/subtracting a particular number of workdays from a calendar date).
    The database I'm working with has a table with the workday calendar in it. Here is a sample table and sample data, representative of what's in my workday calendar table:
    CREATE TABLE caln
    (     clndr_dt     DATE,
         shop_days     NUMBER(5)
         CONSTRAINT caln_pk PRIMARY KEY (clndr_dt)
    INSERT INTO     caln
    VALUES (To_Date('01/01/1980','mm/dd/yyyy'),0);

    I've written (and validated) this parameter query which does my workday (mday) calculation:
    SELECT     cal.clndr_dt
    FROM     CALN cal
         SELECT     cal.shop_days+:mdays     AS new_shop_days
         FROM     CALN cal
         WHERE     cal.clndr_dt     =:start_date
         ) a
    WHERE     cal.shop_days     = a.new_shop_days
    AND     ROWNUM          =1
    ORDER BY     cal.clndr_dt;Based on this query, I've created the following function (and I have no clue if it works or if the syntax is right, etc.):
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION add_mdays
         (start_date     IN DATE,
         mdays          IN NUMBER(5))
    RETURN     DATE
    IS
         new_date DATE;
    BEGIN
         SELECT     cal.clndr_dt
         FROM     CALN cal
              SELECT     cal.shop_days+mdays     AS new_shop_days
              FROM     CALN cal
              WHERE     cal.clndr_dt     =start_date
              ) a
         WHERE     cal.shop_days     = a.new_shop_days
         AND     ROWNUM          =1
         ORDER BY     cal.clndr_dt;
         RETURN     new_date;
    END add_mdays;  //edit 9:31 AM - noticed I left off this bitI'm also not sure how to have the function handle results that would return a date outside of the date range that is in the table (Before 1/1/1980 or after 12/31/2015--or, another way to look at it is, before the MIN value of caln.clndr_dt or after the MAX value of caln.clndr_dt).
    My goal is to be able to use the function in a situation like the following:
    First, here's a sample table and data:
    CREATE TABLE orders
    (     ord_no          NUMBER(5),
         plan_start_dt     DATE,
         CONSTRAINT orders_pk PRIMARY KEY (ord_no)
    INSERT INTO orders
    VALUES (1,To_Date('01/08/1980','mm/dd/yyyy'));
    INSERT INTO orders
    VALUES (2,To_Date('01/09/1980','mm/dd/yyyy'));
    INSERT INTO orders
    VALUES (3,To_Date('01/10/1980','mm/dd/yyyy'));And here is how I would like to use my function:
    SELECT     orders.ord_no
    ,     orders.plan_start_dt
    ,     add_mdays(orders.plan_start_dt, -3) AS prep_date
    FROM     ordersThus, the function would allow me to return, for every order in my orders table, the date that is 3 workdays (mdays) prior to the plan start date of each order.
    Am I going about this the right way? Do I need to create a function to do this, or is there a way for me to incorporate my query (that does my mday calculation) into the sample query above (eliminating the need to create a function)?
    Thanks much in advance!

    Fixed a couple typos in the last insert statements

    Hi,
    Ah, mentioning Oracle 8 and not being able to test your own code makes me nostalgic for the good old days, when you typed your cards, and brought them to a window at the computer center, and waited an hour for the job to run, and then saw the printout to find that you had made a typo.
    If you're going to write functions, you really need to test them yourself. Like all code, functions whould be written in baby steps: write a line or two (or sometimes just part of what will later become one line), test, make sure it's running correctly, and repeat.
    Ideally, your employer should create a developement schema in a development database for you to use.
    You can legally download your own instance of Oracle Express Edition for free; just be careful not to use features that aren't available in the database where the code will be deployed.
    You don't need a function to get the results you want:
    SELECT       o.ord_no
    ,       o.plan_start_dt
    ,       MIN (e.clndr_dt)     AS prep_date
    FROM       orders     o
    ,       caln          l
    ,       caln          e
    WHERE       l.clndr_dt     = o.plan_start_dt
    AND       e.shop_days     = l.shop_days - 3
    GROUP BY  o.ord_no
    ,            o.plan_start_dt
    ;This would be more efficient (and a little simpler) if you added a column (let's call it work_day) that identified if each row represented a work_day or not.
    For each value of shop_days, exactly 1 row will be marked as a work day.
    Then the query might be something like:
    SELECT       o.ord_no
    ,       o.plan_start_dt
    ,       e.clndr_dt          AS prep_date
    FROM       orders     o
    ,       caln          l
    ,       caln          e
    WHERE       l.clndr_dt     = o.plan_start_dt
    AND       e.shop_days     = l.shop_days - 3
    AND       e.work_day     = 1
    ;You could use the analytic LAG function to populate the work_day column.
    A function would certainly be handy, though perhaps slower.
    The function you posted has a few mistakes:
    (a) An argument can't be declared as NUMBER (5); just NUMBER.
    (b) When you SELECT in PL/SQL, like you're doing, you have to SELECT INTO some variable to hold the results.
    (c) ROWNUM is arbitrary (which makes it useless in this problem) unless you are drawing from an ordered sub-query. I don't think you can use ORDER BY in sub-queries in Oracle 8. Use the analytic ROW_NUMBER function instead.
    (d) The function must end with an END statement.
    Given your current caln table, here's how I would write the function:
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION add_mdays
         ( start_date     IN           DATE          DEFAULT     SYSDATE,
           mdays          IN           NUMBER          DEFAULT     1
    RETURN     DATE
    DETERMINISTIC
    IS
         --     add_mdays returns the DATE that is mdays working days
         --     after start_date.  (If mdays < 0, the DATE returned
         --     will be before start_date).
         --     Work days do not include Saturdays, Sundays or holidays
         --     as indicated in the caln table.
         new_date     DATE;          -- to be returned
    BEGIN
         SELECT     MIN (t.clndr_dt)
         INTO     new_date
         FROM     caln     f     -- f stands for "from"
         ,     caln     t     -- t stands for "to"
         WHERE     f.clndr_dt     = TRUNC (start_date)
         AND     t.shop_days     = f.shop_days + TRUNC (mdays)
         RETURN     new_date;
    END     add_mdays;
    SHOW ERRORSProduction code whould be robust (that includes "idiot-proofing").
    Try to foresee what errors people might make in calling your function, and correct for them when possible.
    For example, if it only makes sense for start_date to be midnight, or mdays to be an integer, then use TRUNC in the function in case soembody passes a bad value.
    Allow for default arguments.
    Comment your function. Put all comments within the function (that is, after CREATE and before the final END) so that they will be kept in the data dictionary.
    If, given the same arguments, the function always returns the same value, mark it as DETERMINISTIC, for efficiency. This means the system may remember values passed back rather than call the function every time it is told to.
    I wish I could mark questions as "Correct" or "Helpful"; you'd get 10 points for sure.
    You posted CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements (without even being begged).
    You gave a clear description of the problem, including desired results.
    The code is nicely formatted and easy to read.
    All around, one of the most thoughtful, well-written questions I've seen.
    Well done! Keep up the good work!

  • Webutil_file.copy_file slow in copying files

    Hi All,
    I've read about this problem previously and I'm finally suffering from it myself.
    It took between 5 and 10 minutes to copy a 500k file between two network drives connected to my client. How slow is it going to be for the 100Mb files we will want to copy?
    Has anyone found a solution? IS the only speedy alternative to use client_host and the copy command? I was hoping that the webutil_file.copy_file was a more elegant solution to the file copying process!!!
    TIA
    Tony

    Hello Tony,
    That would be fine if I wanted to transfer from the AS to the client.
    But I want to transfer between two network drives on the client,
    these drives are not visible to the AS at the moment.My understanding is that the functions are executed on the client and therefor the network drives have to be visible to the client and not to the AS.
    But currently i'm working in the OC4J and my server and client are the same.
    So it is not really tested.
    Is the AS to client copy much faster than the copy_file on the client?
    Why would that be? Is it access to network drives on the client that is slow?Yes it is faster. The procedures use different implementations. Files don't get divided in chunks when webutil_file_transfer.AS_to_Client is used.

  • Oracle.forms.webutil.file.FileFunctions bean not found. WEBUTIL_FILE.FILE_D

    Hi guys,
    I have updated my AS and DS to 10.1.2.3 and downloaded Wbutil 1.6 update 10.
    I configured all the .cfg files as mentioned in the documentation when I launch a test form with config=webutil and a webutil functionality in it then i am getting following error -

    WEBUTIL_FILE.FILE_SELECTION_DIALOG_INT will not work.
    Java console shows following -

    So can any one help me to get out of this error.
    Its sort of driving me crazy.
    Thanks in advance.
