My wife's phone is the Primary line, so she gets the New Every Two discount. I get an upgrade discount too, but it's not called New Every Two. They tell me it's essentially the same discount, just not called the same thing. Will that discount be dropped as well? 

For what it is worth, the NE2 is a program that is a credit($30-$50) to primary lines of Family Plans and Individual lines above a certain amt($39.99 or $49.99 I believe). Other lines that do not qualify for the NE2 discount do still get a subsidized rate on their phone with a new 2 yr contract. NE2 is just an additional credit on top of this.
Additionally, annual discounts are not available for secondary lines of a Family Plan. For you to get an annual discount, you would have to pay full retail for a phone.

    So my sugesstion is, that you create a WYSIWYG editor that actually is something to creat and manage websites easily... Instead of lying about your super hard to use complex" NotWYSIWYG" editor, add a simple interface or create a patch or add-on, or even a completely different product to meet the needs of the "other" 98% of us out here creating websites!
    When General Motors sells cars (a very complex device consisting of may integrated systems and processes), they do not expect the end user to "understand" it or make each of those systems interact by manual intervention with hopes they'll sell a million books or make profit on seminars, but rather they provide the end-user with a very simple interface to an otherwise complex device; a steering wheel, a couple of pedals and a few buttons and knobs! Why can't a company as "brilliant" as Macromedia do the same thing but with a website creator?

    Unfortunately, I think you are expecting way too much when you compare the simple interface of a car with what you want out of Dreamweaver as a WYSIWYG web site editor. Dreamweaver would be more aptly compared to being the design department and the manufacuring plant of a car manufacturer and the website that is created is the car with a simple interface that the end user sees/uses.
    Dreamweaver is a powerful, professional, web site building and management tool. I've been using it for years and it is by far the best program out there for what it does. It is NOT a simple WYSIWYG editor that makes site building just a matter of a few mouse clicks and some typing. If that was how it was presented to you than that was wrong.
    It's kind of like saying Photoshop should just be a simple photo editing software that does it all for you with just a few simple commands. Like Photoshop, Dreamweaver is a very complex program with lots of depth to it. It is not something you just pick up and use.
    I'm not sure what you mean when you refer to "98% of us out here creating websites" who need some simple add-on or tool to create their websites. Most professional web designer/developers that I know use Dreamweaver. My productivity with Dreamweaver is 20 times what it would take me to use a basic code/text editor to hand code html and php for all my websites. And ,by the way, I hand code all my stuff in Dreamweaver, I just use Dreamweaver's tools to do it faster. And Dreamweaver makes it much easier to update multiple pages across my websites.
    Try searching for "Dreamweaver alternative" in Google. You won't find anything worth much, other than some text editors and some basic programs. People who need simple tools for authoring website are better off using services that offer pre-built templates with simple interfaces for adding text and graphics. There are plenty of those services out there.
    I'm sorry if you had some misconceptions about this product, but I don't think you will find anything like you are looking for. Going back to your car analogy. It's kind of like saying General Motors should have a WYSIWYG editor for designing and buiding cars? That probably won't happen anytime soon. :)
    There are plenty of turorials out there for how to get started with Dreamweaver. You may even need to get a book to help you get started.
    One last thing, these forums are user to user forums. Your post will only be seen by professionals using Dreamweaver everyday to design and develop sites. These forums are not an avenue to get complaints thru to Adobe.

  • Synced Google Calendar with Ipod Calendar, but what about the other way?

    Hello everyone,
      I have a ton of appointments on my Ipod Touch calendar.  I decided to sync them with a brand new empty Google calendar.  I followed these steps I found on the web to add the Google calendar to the Ipod Touch:
    Open the Settings application on your device's home screen.
    Open Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Select Add Account...
    Select Other.
    Select Add CalDAV Account.
    Enter your account information:
    In the Server field, enter [ google.com ]
    In the Username field, enter your full Google Account or Google Apps email address.
    In the Password field, enter your Google Account or Google Apps password.
    In the Description field, enter the name you'd like to appear on the account.
    Select Next at the top of your screen.
    After you've completed setup, open the Calendar app on your device and syncing will automatically begin.
    Now since that was done, new entries I add in Google Calendar show up on the Ipod Touch, but not the other way around.  Is there a setting option I missed?  I need to pre-populate Google from the Ipod first I asume.Thanks.

    Unfortunately, the only solutions available require Outlook in order to work... The best, and the one I've decided on using, is SyncMyCal.com. There is a free version available that requires you to sync manually, but once you sync events into Outlook, you can sync them to your iPod touch.
    With the 1.1.2 update for the iPod touch, which enables you to directly add events on it... you can set SyncMyCal to also publish events back to your Google Calendar.
    I really wish this functionality was built in directly.
    iTunes already supports syncing with Yahoo! Address Book... Considering how close Apple has been with Google as of late, it's hard to believe some sort of syncing plugin for gApps hasn't been introduced yet.

    Be sure to install the latest version of Safari (version 5.1.7) which is available via Software Update (in the Apple menu) if you have not already installed it. This update will automatically disable older versions of Flash when new versions are available, and will instruct you on how to install the latest version on your system. This should help keep your system safe from any vulnerabilities in Flash.
    Note that this is only useful if you use Safari, though other browsers have their own update mechanisms you should research and enable or configure to your liking.

  • Mifi 4510L Mifi Hotspot...is it the network? and what about the firmware update?

    I have spent several months trying to seek a solution on the repeated and frequent disconnects from the Verizon wireless network using my Mifi 4510 L.  No success.  I have conversed with Verizon Wireless "experts" on this matter and have basically been ignored, since they do not have a solution. It has cost me a pretty penny in wireless costs due to lost connections in downloads, etc...for which I do not get any credit from Verizon on my wireless bill...go figure.
    I have even been accused by Verizon that the problem is my computer and hardware, even though I have ran several hardware, software, and "real-life" connection checks on other wireless networks with no issues at all.  I even have been getting better connectivity when I use my Verizon USB UML290...but I hate having to switch moving my SIM card from the USB Modem to the MIfi4510L...one of these days the SIM card will fail. Verizon has checked the signal strength at my home and work locations (which I already knew as good), but never heard back from them.
    Anyway,  I have verified that my wireless network adapter works just fine on other wireless networks (no dropouts, etc).  I have even upgraded to another Windows Operating System - Windows 7...which is more superior than Vista in dealing with wireless communications.  I have implemented quite a number of the solutions provided by other great Verizon Wireless Community members, but the connectivity problems continue to occur.
    When I did a review of my wireless hardware logs, I noticed that when I was encountering problems, the dynamically assigned address given to me on the Verizon Wireless network changed quite a bit, even when I was using the same web site. When my wireless connection worked fine, the dynamically assigned address was consistent.  This seemed to change when I encounter peak network load times. 
    I would appreciate a straight answer from Verizon Wireless on what is going on with the network.  I live in a solid 3G coverage area...but just far away from 4G to benefit for the increased throughput.  The closest 4G location footprint is about 40 miles away from me.
    Finally, what about the Mifi 4510 L firmware update?  I have yet to see any notification about this firmware update, either through normal e-mail channels or even through my Mifi configuration site

    I realize that I am sounding a little perturbed about this matter, but it has been almost 4 months now...and Verizon is not living up to their part of the bargain on providing good tech support on the Mifi 4510L.  When they do not have an answer...they ignore the customer.   Not good business!!!

    The firmware update was released a few weeks ago and there were multiple threads in this forum for it:
    Software Update: Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MiFi™ 4510L
    The firmware update primarily addresses a problem with the MiFi switching from 3G to 4G and back.  I would not expect it to resolve a connection issue for anyone in a 3G only area.  Work through the firmware update instructions included in the link above and see if it helps. 
    There were no email notifications but the MiFi should have been redirecting you to the MiFi homepage every time you tried to browse the internet.  The firmware update is mandatory so if you have not already completed the update then there might be something wrong with your device.

    So to view to the remaining storage left on my disk, I click on the the small apple sign on the top left corner of the screen, selected "About the Mac", More Info and then storage in order to view how much space is occupied.
    Here's the breakdown:
    As you can see, most of my disk is occupied by this "Other". I was wondering what files on the disk make up this "other" and if it is possible to remove this files so I can free up space on my disk.

    For information about the Other category in the Storage display, see this support article. If the Storage display seems to be inaccurate, try rebuilding the Spotlight index.

    Many files got corrupted during the update process and are in the "other" category. To recover, you need to restore your iPod.  First try restoring from backup. If not successful (since the corruption is in the backup), you need to restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

    Other can be Album Artwork, Notes, Contacts, Firmware etc. or files that are on there if you are using the iPod as a removable storage device. If you feel that Other is being incorrectly reported then try restoring your iPod. Restoring will erase the iPod's hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions and it should connect to iTunes and give you a prompt to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation.
