What are enhancements?
what are enhancements?
could u plz explain clearsy
with example
hi,
SAP delivers a broad range of business functions within its R/3 application suite. You may find that the standard applications do not offer some of the functionality you need. The R/3 enchancement concept allows you to add your own functionality to SAP's standard business applications.
SAP creates customer exits for specific programs, screens and menus within standard R/3 applications. These exits do not contain any functionality. Instead, the customer exits act as hooks. You can hang your own add-on functionality onto these hooks.
Purpose of the Enhancement Concept
With the ABAP/4 Development Workbench, SAP's client-server development environment, you can create add-ons or entire applications. Before the enhancement concept existed, customers who wanted to add their own specific functions to SAP software had to modify the standard SAP programs.
Reason for Using Exits
If you want to extend the functionality of your R/3 System, you should take advantage of the exits available within the standard R/3 applications. There are two main reasons why you should use exits rather than modifying SAP software. Add-ons that are attached to exits have the advantage that they:
1.Do not affect standard SAP source code
When you add new functionality to your R/3 System using SAP's exits, you do not change the source code of standard SAP programs. The code and screens you create are encapsulated as separate objects. These customer objects are linked to standard applications, but they exist apart from SAP's standard software package.
2.Do not affect software upgrades
When you add new functions using SAP's exits, the objects you develop are customer objects. Customer objects adhere to strict naming conventions. When the time comes to upgrade a software release, the special names of customer objects ensure that they will not be affected by either changes or additions within the standard software package. As a result, you do not need to save and then reenter add-ons attached to exits.
Customer exits are not available for all programs and screens within the R/3 standard applications. You can only use exits if they already exist within the SAP R/3 System. Locating Applications that Have Exits explains how to find applications with predefined exits.
If no user exit is available in an area where you want to add your own functionality, you can request that SAP develop an exit. You can make this request via the Online Service System (OSS).

GNK

What is User Exits ? what are Enhancements
What is User Exits ? what are Enhancements ?
You can find information in the SAP help, e.g. under http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/c8/1978b543b111d1896f0000e8322d00/frameset.htm.
User exits can be realized through BADI's or customer exits.
In SAP Standard Transactions, if you need to do some customization via programming then SAP has identified the milestones in the behavior of the transactions where these customized effects may be needed.
This customization to standard transactions is done by some special function modules wherein one can write the customized code with the given SAP import/export parameters. These function modules relate to user exits. Transaction for user exit & its usage in any project are CMOD/SMOD.
Create a project in CMOD and implement that project in SMOD
PS If the answer solves your query, plz do reward points to everyone responding. -
What is Enhancements ??
Can anybody tell what are enhancements in sap???
and what is the difference between User exits and Enhancement???
Thanks in advance.hi,
Enhancement is a technique which we add an extra functionality to the existing standard applicaiton without modifying it. i.e., sap has provided hooks
for each application.. so we have to add that hook to the standard functionality.
In case if we dont want that enhancement we can deactivate that functionality.
Userexits are one of the enhancement techniques.
There are 4 types in userexits..function exit,screen exit,menu exit,field exit
field exit and menu exits are outdated..
But Userexits are not availabe for all requirements and there is no option to create userexit . To overcome this defect sap has introduced badi's concept which is object oriented ( Userexits are available ) . Incase if any predefined badi is not availabe for our requirement sap has provided the option to create badi.to create a badi one need to have an idea of oops.

What are the enhancements of ECC5.0 version compared to 4.6c
HI
what are the enhancements of ECC5.0 version compared to 4.6cWith a little experimentation, I've discovered a number of useful things about iTunes in the past few weeks. Most important is that the iTunes folder (remembering to remove the iTunes music first) can actually be backed up to another drive, and then even shared with another computer directly. Very simple and effective.

What are forms, interfaces, conversions and enhancements?
Hello Experts,
Please enlighten me on what are those terms. Any examples would be highly appreciated. Thanks guys and take care!hi ,
Forms :
1. They r Client Independent.
2. It contains more than one main window.
3. Multiple layout is possible in smart form.
4. Colors can be given in script form.
5. Function modules can be generated automatically.
6. background is possible.
coming up to an Interface:
Interface is a system or a device that is used to connect two unrelated or non-understanding entities.
This definition to an interface could be the key to your answer.
As you might already know, Interface does not provide any implementation but just defines a set of protocols that can be implemented by any class.
Let us consider a few examples...
You and the bicycle. Both of you are not related in anyway. But you want to ride the bicycle. How do you interact with the bicycle? You do it via the pedal which is an interface between you and the bicycle.
You could extend this concept to 'You' and the 'Television' where the interface is a remote control.
conversions :
SAP provides a conversion for SAPscript documents to SMARTforms.
This is basically a function module, called FB_MIGRATE_FORM. You can start this function module by hand (via SE37), or create a small ABAP which migrates all SAPscript forms automatically.
You can also do this one-by-one in transaction SMARTFORMS, under
Utilities -> Migrate SAPscript form.
You could also write a small batch program calling transaction SMARTFORMS and running the migration tool.
Enhancements :
CMOD is the Project Management of SAP Enhancements (i.e., SMOD Enhancements). SMOD contains the actual enhancements and CMOD is the grouping of those SMOD enhancements.
User exits (Function module exits) are exits developed by SAP. The exit is implementerd as a call to a function module. The code for the function module is written by the developer. You are not writing the code directly in the function module, but in the include that is implemented in the function module.
The naming standard of function modules for function module exits is:
EXIT_<program name><3 digit suffix>
The call to a functionmodule exit is implemented as:
CALL CUSTOMER.-FUNCTION <3 digit suffix>
For Example:
The program for transaction VA01 Create salesorder is SAPMV45A
1. If you search for CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION program SAPMV45A you will find ( Among other user exits):
CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION '003'
exporting
xvbak = vbak
xvbuk = vbuk
xkomk = tkomk
importing
lvf_subrc = lvf_subrc
tables
xvbfa = xvbfa
xvbap = xvbap
xvbup = xvbup.
The exit calls function module EXIT_SAPMV45A_003
2. How to find user exits
Display the program where you are searching for and exit and search for CALL CUSTOMER-EXIT
If you know the Exit name, go to transaction CMOD. Choose menu Utillities->SAP Enhancements.
Enter the exit name and press enter.
You will now come to a screen that shows the function module exits for the exit.
or use this ABAP program to search for user exits :-
Finding the user-exits of a SAP transaction code
3. Using Project management of SAP Enhancements
You want to create a project to enhance transaction VA01
- Go to transaction CMOD
- Create a project called ZVA01
- Choose the Enhancement assign radio button and press the Change button
In the first column enter V45A0002 Predefine sold-to party in sales document . Note that an enhancement can only be used for 1 project. If the enhancement is allready in use, and error message will be displayed
- Press Save
- Press Components. You can now see that enhancement uses user exit EXIT_SAPMV45A_002.
- Double Click on the exit.
Now the function module is displayed. Double click on include ZXVVAU04 in the function module
Insert the following code into the include: E_KUNNR = '2155'.
Activate the include program. Go back to CMOD and activate the project.
Goto transaction VA01 and create a salesorder. Note that Sold-to-party now automatically is "2155"
if u find tht its an helpful answer dont forget to reward points for it.

Are there any enhancements from BPC 5.1 to BPC 7.0? If so what are they?
Are there any enhancements from BPC 5.1 to BPC 7.0? If so what are they? We are trying to figure out whether or not to capitalize an upgrade.
Hi,
There have been lot of enhancements incorporated in BPC 7.0
1. BPC 5.1 was running either on SQL 2000 or SQL 2005. However, BPC 7.0 works on SQL 2005 or SQL 2008. The preferred one is SQL 2008, since the performance is much better.
2. Because of the change in the SQL version, BPC 5.1 was able to support DTS packages alongwith DTSX. However, BPC 7.0 supports only DTSX packages.
3. The logic debugger is in place to debug the script logics.
4. While processing the dimension, there is an option for validating the dimension logics written.
Hope this gives you some idea on the enhancements. -

Hi,
BADI , Customer Exit / User Exit , Enhancement all are same.
Customer Exit & User Exit terms were earlier used in case of R/3. Now in ECC 6.0 they are known as
BADI means Business Add-Ins.
BADIs :
Use:
SAP provides multiple implementations of Business Add-Ins (BAdIs), which enhance the functions of the Configuration Control component.
In addition, there are multiple empty BAdIs available for implementing a customer-specific logic for special functions.

What are the Mandatory Fields in Transaction ME51
Hello Seniors,
I have a requirement about purchase order creation. In this process, I am using the BAPI named " BAPI_PO_CREATE1 ". I have passed all the fields but when I debug and look into the internal tables, I couldn't find certain records. I even debugged " bapiret2" and I see an error which reads "" All mandatory fields are missing"". I have even created a PO in ME51 and found out the mandatory fields but in vain. BAPIRET2 still says, there are some more mandatory fields missing. I need to know what are all the mandatory fields to create a Purchase order using TCODE - ME51.
Your reply is most awaited and rewarded.
Thanks and Regards,
MARKIVhi ,
Functionality
Function module BAPI_PO_CREATE1 enables you to create purchase orders. The BAPI uses the technology behind the Enjoy purchase order transaction ( ME21N).
Alternatively, the IDoc type PORDCR1 is available. The data from this IDoc automatically populates the interface parameters of the function module BAPI_PO_CREATE1.
Functionality in Detail
Authorization
The following authorization objects are checked when an Enjoy purchase order is created (activity 01):
M_BEST_BSA (document type in PO)
M_BEST_EKG (purchasing group in PO)
M_BEST_EKO (purchasing organization in PO)
M_BEST_WRK (plant in PO)
Controlling adoption of field values via X bar
For most tables, you can determine via your own parameters in the associated X bar in each case (e.g. PoItemX) whether fields are to be set initial, values inserted via the interface, or default values adopted (e.g. from Customizing or master records) (for example, it is not mandatory to adopt the material group from an underlying purchase requisition - you can change it with the BAPI).
Transfer
Header data
The header data of the Enjoy purchase order is transferred in the table PoHeader.
Item data
The item data of the Enjoy purchase order is stored in the table PoItem (general item data). The delivery schedule lines are stored in the table PoSchedule.
Use the table PoAccount to specify the account assignment information. If account assignments have been specified for services and limits, you show the relevant account assignment line in PoAccount in the table PoSrvAccessValues via the package number of the service or the limit.
Services and limits
Services, free limits and limits with contract reference can be specified in the tables PoServices, PoLimits, and PoContractLimits.
Conditions
Conditions are transferred in the table PoCond; header conditions in the table PoCondHeader. Price determination is reinitiated via the parameter CALCTYPE in the table PoItem.
Vendor and delivery address
The vendor's address can be specified individually in the table PoAddrVendor; the delivery address in the table PoAddrDelivery. If you do not make any individual specification, the fields will be populated via the central address managementfacility.
Note
In this method, the following restrictions apply with regard to addresses:
Addresses can only be created with this method - they cannot be changed. You can only change address data with the method BAPI_ADDRESSORG_CHANGE.
When you create addresses, they are not checked by the method. An Enjoy purchase order may therefore contain faulty address data.
Partner roles
The partners can be maintained individually via the table PoPartner (with the exception of the partner role "vendor").
Import/export data
Import/Export data can be specified per item in the table PoExpImpItem. Foreign trade data can only be transferred as default data for new items.
Texts
Header and item texts can be transferred in the tables PoTextHeader and PoTextItem. Texts for services are imported in the table PoServicesText.
Version Management
You can make use of the Version Management facility via the table AllVersions.
Return
The PO number is returned in the parameter ExpPurchaseOrder. In addition, all information except the service and export/import tables is placed in the output structures.
Return messages
Messages are returned in the parameter Return. This also contains information as to whether interface data has been wrongly or probably wrongly (heuristical interface check) populated. If a PO has been successfully created, the PO number is also placed in the return table with the appropriate message.

Help in the Case of Problems
1. Note 197958 lists answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs). (Note 499626 contains answers to FAQs relating to External Services Management.)
2. If you have detected an error in the function of a BAPI, kindly create a reproducible example in the test data directory in the Function Builder (transaction code SE37). Note 375886 tells you how to do this.
3. If the problem persists, please create a Customer Problem Message for the componente MM-PUR-PO-BAPI, and document the reproducible example where necessary.
Customer Enhancements
The following user exits (function modules) are available for the BAPI BAPI_PO_CREATE1:
EXIT_SAPL2012_001 (at start of BAPI)
EXIT_SAPL2012_003 (at end of BAPI)
The following user exits (function modules) are available for the BAPI BAPI BAPI_PO_CHANGE:
EXIT_SAPL2012_002 (at start of BAPI)
EXIT_SAPL2012_004 (at end of BAPI)
These exits belong to the enhancement SAPL2012 (see also transaction codes SMOD and CMOD).
There is also the option of populating customer-specific fields for header, item, or account assignment data via the parameter EXTENSIONIN.
Further information
1. Note 197958 contains up-to-date information on the purchase order BAPIs.
2. If you test the BAPIs BAPI_PO_CREATE1 or BAPI_PO_CHANGE in the Function Builder (transaction code SE37), no database updates will be carried out. If you need this function, please take a look at Note 420646.
3. The BAPI BAPI_PO_GETDETAIL serves to read the details of a purchase order. The BAPI cannot read all details (e.g. conditions). However, you can use the BAPI BAPI_PO_CHANGE for this purpose if only the document number is populated and the initiator has change authorizations for purchase orders.
4. Frequently used BAPIs for purchase orders are BAPI_PO_CREATE, BAPI_PO_CREATE1, BAPI_PO_CHANGE, BAPI_PO_GETDETAIL, BAPI_PO_GETITEMS, BAPI_PO_GETITEMSREL, and BAPI_PO_GETRELINFO.
5. For more information on purchase orders, refer to the SAP library (under MM Purchasing -> Purchase Orders) or the Help for the Enjoy Purchase Order, or choose the path Tools -> ABAP Workbench -> Overview -> BAPI Explorer from the SAP menu.

Adding new fields to assignment block, what are the steps to do this.
CRM 7.
Could someone tell me what the steps are to add new fields to specifdic assignment block. Assume that these fields do not already exist in any given structure/table.
My understanding is that I need to use transaction EEWB and then somehow use the component "BSP_DLC_FS" and view "factsheet". But having never used EEWB before I'ma tad lost. I'm in EEWB and have crfeated a project and believe that I now need to create an extension. When doing this I am displayed a box with 4 fields, being: Name, Description, EEW Bus object and Extension type. What are my next steps?
I assume that the EEW bus object is 'BUPA' and the extension type is 'ADD_NEW_FIELDS'. However, how do I know for sure that the EEW bus object should be 'BUPA', bearing in mind that I'm adding new fields to the Account (BP) main address communication data Assignemnt block?.
I wondered if anyone has a link to any guide docuemnt about how to do this?.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
I attempted to use EEWB to add new fields to BUPA but am hitting the error: BDT-DC is Not Prepared for This Application Object
On searching I can see that there are ways around this, via SM30 against table/view V_TBZ1_DC, changing the BDT BC settings, whatever they are. But it gives me a warning when this happens and mentions that only SAP are allowed to do this, but it will allow me to create a transport if I press on past this. Should I need to make this change though, or have I just done something wrong within EEWB I wonder.
JasonHi Jason,
You can try using Application Enhancement Tool (AET) to create new fields instead of EEWB,
Best Regards,
Gobinda -

then it displays the Release Version and the Delta Functionality. Which can be downloaded to a word document if required.
And also check the release notes of ECC 6.0 in service.sap.com.
When you are upgrading from 4.6C to ECC6
Nothing major, follow the same process you'd follow if you were updating PI service packs in R/3 or enhancing data sources. Empty queues in RSA7 and lbwq. Also empty setup tables through lbwg as the upgrade doesn't like it if these tables contain data. This is all on the R/3 side (although you empty RSA7 by running each delta TWICE in BW).
To transfer queues from lbwq to rsa7, execute jobs through LO cockpit (lbwe).
Some of your data sources could also be using sm13 instead of lbwq, so do check it out as well.
For installing ECC 6.0 you required a solution manager key. With out solution manager key you cannot install ECC6.0.
For ECC 6.0 is called net weaver component here you have ABAP+JAVA stack.
ECC6.0 supports UNCODE.
For installing 4.6 you don't require solution manager key. It only having ABAP stack.
4.6C supports NONUNICODE.
Major difference is ECC6 is netwear product having WASJAVA+ABAP
secondly support unicode apart from this we have other diff. you can get form master guide from service.sap.com/instguides.
