For Functionality Differences pls refer to the below site -

After opening the site, please select the Source Release Version which is 4.6 b Then Select the Target Release Version which is "mySAP ERP 2005" or ECC 6.0
Select the Solution Area like Financials, Human Capital Management, Sales....
Select module like MM, PP, SD, and QM.....
    Click on Search
then it displays the Release Version and the Delta Functionality. Which can be downloaded to a word document if required.
And also check the release notes of ECC 6.0 in service.sap.com.
When you are upgrading from 4.6C to ECC6
Nothing major, follow the same process you'd follow if you were updating PI service packs in R/3 or enhancing data sources. Empty queues in RSA7 and lbwq. Also empty setup tables through lbwg as the upgrade doesn't like it if these tables contain data. This is all on the R/3 side (although you empty RSA7 by running each delta TWICE in BW).
To transfer queues from lbwq to rsa7, execute jobs through LO cockpit (lbwe).
Some of your data sources could also be using sm13 instead of lbwq, so do check it out as well.
For installing ECC 6.0 you required a solution manager key. With out solution manager key you cannot install ECC6.0.
For ECC 6.0 is called net weaver component here you have ABAP+JAVA stack.
    ECC6.0 supports UNCODE.
For installing 4.6 you don't require solution manager key. It only having ABAP stack.
    4.6C supports NONUNICODE.
Major difference is ECC6 is netwear product having WASJAVA+ABAP
secondly support unicode apart from this we have other diff. you can get form master guide from service.sap.com/instguides.
Please go through the link that is shown here and if there is any doubts then feel free to ask.

  • What are the important points during a Linux upgrade with Oracle database?

Is there a specific document or metalink note that I may follow similar to this one during a Linux os upgrade -
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28300/toc.htm
Lets talk on an example; we may talk on upgrading details of a RHEL3 RAC system with Oracle options used like ASM,OCFS etc. to RHEL4. What steps are important to take by order and what are the best practices to be careful about during this type of an os upgrade for Oracle?
    Best regards.

  • What are the responsibilities of Functional consultant in Upgradation?

    hai friends
What are the responsibilities of Functional consultant in an Upgradation Project
Are the responsibilites similar to implementation project.if no  How does it differ.
    Thanks
    regards
    Krishna

    Krishna,
Responsibities for the functional consultant will be differ based on the upgrade which is Technical upgrade and Functional upgrade.
Resp for Technical upgrade: If its a technical upgared your roll will be limited and your involvement will required only for testing ( unit test and Integration testing) . So most of the effort is required only for BASIS consultant.
Resp for Functional upgrade: If there is any add in with your business process (any new functionalites and enhancements) you need to involve for functional design for the new process additionally with the testing.
    Cheers!!!

Please give the point for the useful reply.

  • What are the benifits of upgrading from Lion to Mountain Lion?

I'm looking for the benifits of upgrading from Lion to Mountain Lion

You cannot upgrade to Mountain Lion anymore. Mavericks is now the current version. Got to Apple's website to see what the features of Mavericks are, then decide if upgrading is something you should do.
    Upgrading to Mavericks
You can upgrade to Mavericks from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mavericks can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    Upgrading to Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Mavericks from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mavericks is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
         Are my applications compatible?

  • What are the limitations to perfroming client copy?

    Background:
We have QAS env. with 3 clients (golden client 200, plus 201 and 202) which were created from golden client 200
Currently we are migrating Peoplesoft (Time & Labour and Payroll) to SAP HCM.   All three clients are dedicated to a particular phase of the project
    200. 200 developing new Benefits pkg
    201. Parallel
    202. Traning
I need to find out how do I determine if I can add an additional client (4CPU , plenty of disc only 300 of 500 G used for 3 clients)
And by adding this additional client our developer would like to test out their data loads into SAP scripts.  they maybe doing this over and over again, and do not want to blow away what is happening in the other three clients
We do have a Plan B, which is to provide them a new client in a rehearsal server which is currently being used to confirm the transports created for configuration of HCM.  So if we create a separate client in this server how will it effect the one and only client?
    please advise
    maria

    Hi,
In terms of CPU and RAM Memory load you won´t have more load except for the jobs you developers will throw to the system, you are creating a new client, not adding more WP's. But in terms of Disk it will require more space than the one already have but how much will depend on how much data has the source client that will be copied to the Target Client and this depends on the copy profile you will use. The RDBMS will have more load also when Developers begin to do load testing but this will happend in either system the do it.
Clients are independent except for workbench objects for example, users are client dependant, some configurations are client dependant, etc so the only requirement is disk and usually there is not much space required (your QAS server has plenty of disk space left) so if you want to create it in one or other server will depend on how loaded is your actual QAS server. If QAS don´t have much load go ahead and create the client. I have seem DEV and QAS systems with more than 6 clients working without problems.
    Have a good day,

  • What are the benifits of Discoverer Drake

    Hi
We are currently using App server 10g 9.0.4
One of the features we wanted was to pass parameters from Portal into Discoverer, upon speaking to Oracle they told us this was not possible in this version of Application server. They also said it may be possible in the new version (drake)
Can anyone confirm this is possible and if so whether it is a useful peice of functionality and works well

    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/discoverer/htdocs/oraclebi_discoverer_1012_fov.htm
It looks like you can pass parameters to Portal with Drake. Drake is so much nicer than 9.0.4. I am hooked on the ease of use. I always wanted to easily pass parameters between worksheets and Drake makes this so easy now.

    Hi
You can do this by going to SUIM-Transactions-Executable for User
Then give the user name/id as in user master record and execute.  Now the system will display the list of transaction codes used by that particular user.

  • What are the possible approches for hosting a product(custom SP application) for multiple clients on a single SharePoint farm?

We have a product which is a custom application based on SharePoint Foundation 2010. Right now, for each of our client we create a dedicated server and host the application in the standalone deployment. Now, the requirement is to host multiple clients in a
    farm deployment.
Challenges are: 1. The product has same name for the wsp that is deployed on different client servers as of now. How to distinguish for different clients on same farm
Currently the product specific css and jquery is in 14 hive. These files will be of difefrent versions for different client. How to segregate that?
How many web applications is recommend to be created in a single SPF 2010 farm? What are the challenges?
There are a couple of DBs created in SQL for the application. What is the best way to separate those for the client?
Essentially its the same product but with different versions for each client that we want to deploy in a single farm. What is the best practice to tackle this?

For the most part, these are not SharePoint questions per se, but product-specific questions you'd better ask the vendor about. To get in some more detail:
    1. It totally depends on the scope of the solution. If its global, then you're out of luck and any changes you make affect all instances that use it. Better ask the vendor about it.
    2. Not that many, let's say < 10, assuming you're web applications have separate application pools. Check out  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262787(v=office.14).aspx#WebApplication for
    more info.
    3. This is very application specific and really should be answered by the vendor. Not related to SharePoint at all.
    4. Again, really depends on the product so better ask the vendor.
    Good luck!

  • What are the Client machine requirements for running Forms 6i?

What are the minimum/ideal hardware requirements of the client machines which run forms 6i in separate frames.
The reason for asking this is that the users have multiple sessions of separate Forms frames. When they do a lot of activity/transactions, and try to do a windows Print Screen on a MSWord file, nothing seems to print on the Word document. If they save the document and reboot the computer and open the same word document again then the screen print shows up. I am thinking it is because the separate frames take up lot of RAM. Typical configurations of our m/c are PII 400's with 64MB RAM.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Lionel,
As a general rule of thumb, the ATI Rage 128 Pro will not support a 20" LCD. That being said, there are reports of it doing just that (possibly the edition that went into the cube).
I'm not that familiar with the ins and outs of the Cube, so I can't give you authoritative information on it.

  • What are the things we need to install on client desktop?

    Hi all
I will need to install Peoplesoft Enterprise. However, for my part I will need to try to install it into serveral clients but connect it to a database. Which means that the main database is not in my com but in another com, is it possible that I can still install in my computer without a database and connect my com to the main com database? And I will also like to know what are the things I will need to install or configure into my computer which has no database. Such as do I need to configure PIA, WebLogic Server and etc. Can anyone please help me. I really need help and assistant in doing it.
    Thanks

The database has been installed and configured with a given Peopletools version, say 8.52.x. You have to have the same version onto your local machine.
And since you want only third tier connection, no need to have any database client.
PIA is a server process to make front end users be able to connection onto the application using their own browser.
AppServer is a server process allowing people to connect in a 3tier mode, and which manage all the Peoplesoft thingy, exclusively to run on the server to make it available for all.
Batch Server, same as AppServer, exclusively on server side to make job process running out there. Not on any client.
Consequently, download the Peopletools (same version as the Peoplesoft database), configure the 3tier connectivity within the Configuration Manager and enjoy PSoft.
