What are the compatibility issues with diadem 8.1 upgrading to diadem 9.0

I am upgrading from diadem 8.1 to diadem 9.0 and i have a bunch of scripts. i would like to know what scripts will work and what scripts won't with diadem 9.0

Hi Beachman,
If by "program" you mean a VBScript, then the VBScript syntax would typically be an IF-statement, such as:
IF ProgramRevision < 900 THEN
ELSE
END IF
The main thing that changed compatability-wise between DIAdem 8.1 and 9.0 was the VIEW api. The entire VIEW api has been converted over to an object-oriented api, and the old VIEW commands no longer work in DIAdem 9.0. Another difference is that now all load routines (except DataLoad) by default append data to DIAdem, whereas before many of them by default replaced the channels in DIAdem. A third difference is that in DIAdem 9.0 by default no channels may have the same name as any other channels inside the same channel group. You can change tha
t default behavior back to the DIAdem 8.1 style with a dialog change or a programmatic setting of the DIAdem variable "ChnNamingMode".

  • What are the network issues with single user versus mulit-user version?

I am having trouble attempting to share Pages documents over a network. My documents are created and saved in Pages on Mac 1. The same documents are opened, edited and re-saved on Mac 2.
Upon re-saving any document on Mac 2, (originally created on Mac 1), two error messages will appear. The first message says: "You do not have permissions to save changes in this document".
Once I have fixed the permissions problem, another message appears. The second message is: "Type: Couldn't save image. Description: thumbs/pagethumb1.tiff".
The only way to solve this second problem is to save the document with a different name on the station you are currently working on. It looks like the page previews may not be readable from station to station. Not to mention the network permissions not being transferrable from station to station.
I am wondering if both these problems are related to the fact that I am using a single user version of Pages when I should be using a multi-user version because of the network.
The Mac OS I am using is a Family version for up to 5 users. The Pages (iWork) version is strictly single user.
I am currently using Pages version 2.02.
Mac G4 Dual Mirror and Mac G4 AGP Graphics   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   both systems have lots of RAM; the G4 AGP has a smaller drive

Forgive my ignorance of UNIX, but will what you are
suggesting create multiple copies of the same file,
    leading to confusion?
The way I have set up my system there are copies of all my important files on the other machine, but not multiple copies of each file. Rsync backs-up the changes to existing files or copies new files to the other computer. It can be set to mirror one machine on the other, copy only certain files, not copy certain files, etc.
Currently I am opening the file over the network,
making changes and saving them back to the original
file. When I open up the same file on the sharing
Mac and attempt to do the same, permissions and save
problems occur. If I start out on the sharing Mac,
then open the original file on the networked unit,
the same permissions and save problems occur. No
    UNIX commands are used.
I don't know what is causing the problem you are experiencing, but there is way to do what you want. Rsync is one way, there are several other ways to synchronise machines that do not involve you typing out unix commands. Do a search here for synching folders
But at least I am only working with one file. And I
have my wife and oldest daughter using the Macs.
They are even less technically proficient than me.
How can I use the method you suggest without having
multiple copies everywhere? And how will I do this
    without scaring my Luddite family?
the system I use (rsync, .sh file, cron) is automatic. The files are backed up automatically every hour from 8 am until 10 pm. If there are no changes, nothing is backed up.
my macbook backs up specified files/folders from folder andrew and folder bev to the identical folders on my wife's mac mini.
the mac mini backs up the same folders to the macbook.
I use the mackbook 99% of the time, my wife uses the mini 99% of the time. this way all her files are availalble on the macbook and mine are available on the mini.
Once setup to your liking this is a transparent and unobtrusive system, but there are alternatives.

  • What are the software issues with installing a 2nd SSD on my mac mini (Late 2012?)

    Hi Everyone,
I've just bought a brand new Mac Mini server - 2.6GHz, with a 256GB SSD.
I have also bought a 512GB SSD from Crucial, along with a Dual Drive Install Kit from OWC, and will probably be installing it myself.
I've read a lot of info on various forums/websites that is a little concerning.....regarding data loss when you reboot the Mac having installed the new SSD (not sure if this just applies to adding the SSD to a system that contains a 'normal' HDD.....)
If I'm going to have 2 SSDs in my system, I guess there are 2 questions:
    1. Can I just add the new 512GB SSD without any reboot issues
    2. Is it important to keep the system SSD physically where it is, i.e. at the bottom of the Mac (and plugged into the same connection on the logicboard?)
Thanks in advance for any help!

Thank you so much John and woodmeister50, most helpful
Just one more thing - the crucial drive came with a data transfer cable (SATA to USB) - I haven't got my dual drive install kit through the post yet...so do you foresee any problems with me installing the software that I will be using on the 512GB drive, in preparation for it being internally installed - is that possible to do with this cable?
    Thanks again people!

  • What is the compatibility issues restricting use of Dreamweaver MX2004 with Windows 7

I can't launch an update my website design on Dreamweaver MX2004.  Adobe technicians have informed me the application is not compatible with Windows 7.  The Dreamweaver was already loaded onto this computer when I took over this assignment.  I assumed it was applicable before, so now what are the compatibility issues?  I need to launch these updates.  Can anyone help or provide directions what to do?

There are other Forum participants running MX2004 on WIN7, much to my surprise, even on 64bit machines.
You may wish to be sure that whoever did the installation on your WIN7 machine, knew enough to also install the 7.01 Updater

  • What are the major issues to consider in code review? Or performance analys

What are the major issues to consider in code review? Or performance analysis?

I would not recommend you to try to optimize performance by checking the coding.
There is the code inspector which can do all which makes sense automatically.
The above mentioned points are not the real issues.
Instead of code review you should execute test cases and measure the exection time.
    1. With STAD if you want to get good time measurement
    2. With SE30 and ST05, if you want to have data for further anaylsis.
Check total time (SE30), check whether DB part is large, then go to SQL trace. Do the check mentioned here
    /people/siegfried.boes/blog/2007/09/05/the-sql-trace-st05-150-quick-and-easy
    to find the SQL bottlenecks.
The major point about SQL problems is index support, if there is no proper index support then the performance will be poor. Be aware, that problems are only visible, if you tables are filled.
In a test system where you have very little data, you will never encounter performance problems.
Check also the Top10 of the SQ30 hit list.
Be aware that a proper performance analysis is not a 5 minutes job.

  • What are the major issues in implementation SAP CRM sales and CIC.

    Hi
We are newly implanting the project to the mobile Manfaturing Company. Our Clint is going for are looking to implement the CIC interaction center win Clint and the Sales modules of CRM .
We have some 3rd parry raw data with us with that raw data we are calling to the customers and we want create the opportunity in the CIC after that we will convert the opportunity as a sales with our other sales people. After  that  they will sale that product to that customers.
We have the back end of the R/3 SD, MM modules implemented for Clint.
Now 1) I want to know after implementation what are the major issues will come in the project normally for the conman  Sales and CIC Win Clint projects kindly give the some  issues normally come  and solutions  for the problems also.
My motto is that if I know the issues I can make preparation  for that conman issues and I will make my project with good effective and smooth running ..

    hi prakesh,
firstly, cic winclient is an older version and obsolete so its better to implement the new crm version.
secondly, in any case if you want to implement, then your 3rd party raw data has to be mapped with the SAP system which could be a problem. Middleware could be a lot of effort. Rest all depends on how much customization you need for your business requirement in cic and sales. In case you are implementing standard functionality mostly then no major complications are expected otherwise lot of development effort may be required.

  • What are the legal issues to create website

Could I use Cirrus to create my own video chat website? What are the legal issues?

    Hmm...
"The delivery-on-demand client is programmed to place HTTP GET requests  with content capturing component. Content capturing component is  programmed to render and process HTTP GET requests coming from  delivery-ondemand client."
Adobe doesn't use GET/POST in RTMFP. It's a streaming protocol.
"Another aspect of the present invention is that, once cited a specific  video channel number, the resource locator server connects web browsing  applications directly to delivery-ondemand client in peer-to-peer  fashion"
Adobe doesn't use "Video Channel Number", more over the authors need to clarify how "resource locator server" in their "invention" "connects" web browsing application "directly" to the "delivery-ondemand client". In Stratus peers have ability to discover themselves automatically in some situations.
"The content capturing component is programmed to determine the most  efficient rate of packet transmission for each connected  delivery-on-demand client."
    - Wow, invention indeed! I think Adobe should ask clamants to present the code snippet for this "most efficient" transmission.
I'm sure Adobe lawyers will find many other holes in the this so called "patent". Let's wish the authors of this "invention" to finish the work and  implement and grow it to something more serious then just few generic  claims.

  • Dear All,what are the major issues in implementation in sap hcm

what are the major issues in implementation in SAP HCM project scope is PA ,OM,TIME, INDIA PAYROLL

    Hi Ramjan,
Try to have a clear understanding of requirements and find the best solution in SAP. Keep as much as possible everything standard and based on SAP best practices.
In PA look for a comprehensive enterprise structure. It's base for everything.
DON"T do anything through development(ABAP code) as much as possible specially in PT and PY. Try to do claculation by PCRs and Schema.

  • What are the integration points with sd and qm

    hi,
    sap gurus,
    good morning to all,
what are the integration points with SD and QM.
    in r/3.
    regards,
    balaji.t
    09990019711

    Dear balaji
Before doing PGI, there will be a preinspection stage where SD will have to integrate with QM.  Similarly after sales, whenever there is sales returns, QM will come into picture.
To control the above scenarios, in material master, go to "Quality management" view and click on "Insp.setup" where you need to assign Inspection Types like 04, 06 etc.
    thanks

Hi Carol, good/sound advice by Ziatron so far.
We need more info about your Mac to see if it will even be capable,
So we know more about it...
At the Apple Icon at top left>About this Mac, then click on More Info, then click on Hardware> and report this upto but not including the Serial#...
    Hardware Overview:
    Model Name: iMac
    Model Identifier: iMac7,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
    L2 Cache: 4 MB
    Memory: 6 GB
    Bus Speed: 800 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: IM71.007A.B03
    SMC Version (system): 1.21f4
You'll need to buy SL/10.6 first & get it to 10.6.8, then get Lion... if you can run it.
Or if you can erase your disk...
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD256
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    General requirements
       * Mac computer with an Intel processor
        * 1GB of memory (I say 2GB at least)
        * 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
        * DVD drive for installation
        * Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
        * Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.
Which apps work with Mac OS X 10.6?...
    http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/
It looks like they do still have it:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDAzOA
    If it's a core Duo & not a Core2Duo, then it'll only run in 32 bit mode.
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    Lion/101.7 System requirements
        •    x86-64 processor (Macs with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Core i3, Intel Core i5, Intel Core i7, or Xeon processor.)
        •    At least 2GB of memory, (I say 4GB)
        •    Latest version of Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8), with the Mac App Store installed
        •    At least 4GB of disk space for downloading, (I say 40GB at least)
Like Snow Leopard, Lion does not support PowerPC-based Macs (e.g., Power Macs, PowerBooks, iBooks, iMacs (G3-G5), eMacs).
Lion also does not support 32-bit Intel Core Duo or Core Solo based Macs. Rosetta is no longer available in Lion, which means Lion no longer supports PowerPC applications.
It looks like Apple will have Lion available on USB drives for $69...
