What does the plus sign (+ ) mean in the app store updates?

What does the plus sign (+) mean in the upper corner of the app updates in the app store? Does it mean it costs more money?

No, it is free. I have yet to see a paid update. The + sign means it is a universal app, meaning that it works across iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.

Assuming you're creating this event to place in your calendar, and assuming this calendar is shared with your iMac and iPad using iCloud, might the calendar be restricted on your iPhone?

What does "Offline (filter unavailable)" mean in the "fx" tab?

I opened a project that had been dormant for a few weeks. Uneter the "fx" adjustment tab, the usual "Motion" and "Opacity" are listed as applied effects. A third one is "Offline (filter unavailable)". I do nor recall what additional effect I applied, if any.
What does it mean? Is there something I need to fix?

Now, you mention Opacity and Motion. Those are Fixed Effects, and are automatically created and applied to every Clip, Still, Title, etc., when dragged to the Timeline. They start with there parameters at a default, though they can be changed.
The only thing that I can think of is that maybe a 3rd party Effect was added, and for whatever reason, it's no longer available - could have been deleted, could have become corrupt, could be something else?
Was this Project begun, and worked on, on this same machine? If so, then I would wonder what that Effect was, and why it is no longer available to PrE. If it was started on another machine, then it could well be a 3rd party Effect, like maybe Neat Video, or one of the commercial (not included in PrE's installation) NewBlue FX Effects.

Yes, same machine. With a three week lag in the project, I fogot what effects I may have applied. The light was terrible in some clips, so I may have tried to adjust for it.

Again, everything seems to be working. This is more of a puzzle than a problem!

"Use the purchases page to try again" App store update error in Mavericks

When Mavericks came out, I did a clean install of the OS. The first thing I did upon logging in, was reverting iTunes back to 10.7 before I opened it so it wouldn't update my iTunes library files and make them incompatible with any version lower than 11 (I went backt to 10.7 some time ago).
However, this seems to cause a problem with the App store - specfically updating apps. Whenever I try to update anything, I get this error message:
After going to the purchases page, it then looks like this:
And so after trying to update it from the purchaes page, I still get this error message:
The only work around I have found to work is to update itunes to version 11, update the apps, then downgrade back to 10.7 again. This is a hastle so I'm wondering if there is an easier way. Obviously the app store in Mavericks needs iTunes 11 installed for it to work correctly - so I was thinking, was there a way to trick OSX into thinking that I have iTunes 11 installed when I actually have 10.7? I'm assuming there must be a file somewhere included in the version 11 install that the app store looks for to work with?
Any advice/help would be appreciated!

Ok, time to troubleshoot then.
Quit the Mac App Store
Run the terminal app in your Utilities folder
Copy & Paste this command exactly and hit return:
open $TMPDIR../C/
In the Finder window that appears, place the com.apple.appstore folder into the trash.
Restart the Mac App Store and see if things work now.

What does "PAYG WAP" etc mean when the SIM card is...

I am on Vodafone contract, but under "WAP services" (a term which itself doesn't make any sense because "WAP" is no longer used for anything AFAIK, and used to run on 9.6k GSM dial-up) I see

I can delete these but they keep coming back.
Then there is Contract Internet which is what I would expect to see; that is under the "Internet" heading.

as options for what to connect to, of which all except "Contract Internet" doesn't mean anything.

sounds a little strange, you need to ask your network carrier exactly which access point is for which function, as this is a user to user forum only for Nokia products and services.

makes sure that the value of s is numeric, rounds it up and then converts the number to a string.

I understand that when using Numbers/Pages - an up-arrow on a document means that the file is still to be uploaded to the cloud, what does a down arrow mean? It seems the document can't be accessed until the arrow clears.

I believe what it's supposed to mean is that some changes were made to the document on another device, and those changes were saved back to the cloud. Now you've opened iWork on a different device to access that document - it compares the document you've got locally with the one in the could, sees some recent changes and downloads them.
What gets me is why this sometimes happens even when I've not made any changes to a document from another device.
