What happened to mousepointer tools from Pro 7 - Pro 8 ?

When editing fast in arrange, one of the most handy options I used in Pro7 was the ability to hold a modifier key to open the tools menu or change the tool fast.
I cannot see the same functionality in Pro8 and really miss it. Have searched the manual but havent found a solution on how to bring it back to at least the same efficiency-level as I had in Pro7.
Someone guide this lost child please?

It's still there. It's one of the things I like about L8...
In the arrange page, for instance, you'll see three tools displayed. These represent:
• "default" tool
• CMD-assigned tool
• right-click-assigned tool
The assignments can be different for each editor, and are memorized with your song.

  • Confused about what happened to layout tools in CC

I'm wondering what happened to the tools that used to be in DW CS6 on the bottom of the layout window?  It seems that many of the tools have been eliminated?  Is there someway to get them back?  I've attached screenshots of the same doc in CS6 and CC.  Please note that the option to make the view 100% is gone as well as the pointer and the hand tool. Please help!  Thanks!!!

I re-worked the code a bit.  And I can see the layout just fine but I can't see the oversized background-image in Design view.  I suspect it's just too big.

  • What happened to developer tools? Apache?

I'm trying to debug some php code and am looking for the editor that comes with apache, but I can't find apache. Doesn't it still come with the os? What happened to developer tools? I tried looking at the developer website but I gave up after a while; nothing seemed to help.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
    PowerBook   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

PHP is not normally enabled. Read here how to enable it.
As for the PHP editor, the previous poster is right. There is supposedly a PHP scripting editor in the XCode package, but I would suggest the 1 gigabyte download is too much. There are better PHP tools out there.

  • What happens after card reset (from JCRE perspective)?

    Hi,
In windows environment, to keep state of application, i cam imagine that data is serialized and saved to a text file. On second app invocation, the data from text file is reloaded to reconstruct objects and form the last state of application.
In card environment, suppose that i have some applets on card. On card reset, i think that the boot trap method is invoked and reload data for each applet to keep it last state.
The point is, to load data, everything is done in native code, but the objects to be re-inited are at java layer. Is it feasible? Or JCRE will initialize those applets at java layer?
Could you correct my understanding and share your knowledge of something else going on after card reset? Or after card reset, JCRE doesn't do anything, objects gain its reference, class structure by card characteristics?
    thanks,
    Hoang Long

imagine that a javacard is a very flat arduino without I/O but only a serial port.
what happens in an arduino at startup? the user app starts and replies to commands. sometimes the bootloader can take over (that's GlobalPlatform)
the javacard is the same, even if it can holds multiple user apps.
Objects in javacard are stored in eeprom, so there is no need for serialization. These objects are non volatile by design. Only some types of arrays have data in RAM, and they must be created explicitly.

  • What happens when you AirDrop from Mac to iPhone and click Cancel?

I have a Late 2013 27" iMac running OS X Yosemite 10.10 and an iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 8.0.2.
I can take a PDF on my iMac, drag it to my iPhone in the AirDrop section of Finder, and it transfer to my iPhone just fine.  Once it's finished transferring, a popup shows on my iPhone asking me what app I want to open the PDF in, which is great.  At the bottom of that popup is a "Cancel" option.  My question is, what happens when you tap "Cancel" instead of one of the apps?  Is the file still somewhere on the iPhone?  Or does it get deleted?

Connecting to a new computer or iTunes will always erase the device first. Back up manually before by right clicking on the iPod in the device list and choosing "backup". A manual backup does not include the sync process. You can use this backup to restore from after your iPod got wiped during the first sync.
Transfer your purchases the same way and make sure to have at least one contact and event listed on your Mac, to be able to merge data.
See also iTunes: About iOS backups to get more info about the content of a backup, and How to back up your data and set up as a new device , if you want to know more about saving info from the iPod before setting it up in iTunes.

  • What happens when you buy from a third party vender

I am wondering what happens when you buy a macbook form a third party vender. In my case it is amazon.com. I am reading about people returning their macbook's to apple for a refund due to the high pitched whine everyone is talking about. My understanding is that we can still send them to apple to get fixed for the noise, but even if they can't fix it we still can't get a refund right? If I try to return it to Amazon as a defective product who decides if it is? Apple or Amazon?
    Kalel

Amazon's return policy on computers doesn't exclude any brands, so I'd say that you could return it. Here's a link to it if you'd like to read it:

  • What happened to the tool bar & why did you switch my browser from Google to Yahoo?

When I downloaded Firefox 4 you switched my search engine from Google to Yahoo. I much prefer Google. Secondly, at the same time, my toolbar disappeared. When I wanted to print out a mutual fund activity confirmation, there was no means to do it. Unless this is changed, I will go back to IE, with great regrets. Photogranny.

You can remove the Yahoo Toolbar by going to Tools | Add-ons | Extensions and remove it from the list.
But it's not part of the original installation file. You might of got it when you installed something recently.
By the way, you need to update Flash. The version you have installed at the moment exposes your PC to hacking. You can download the latest version from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

  • What happens to Hidden Photos from Elements

If upgrading from PSE9 to LR3.3, what will happen to all the photos that are hidden? Does LR support hidden photos?

Actually, I just went through this exercise with PSE10 and LR5 (converting my PSE10 catalog).  Your hidden photos from PSE will import into LR5 but they will show up flagged as REJECTED.  So just be aware that they are in your LR5 catalog but they are flagged as being rejected.  This is important to know so you don't accidentally delete all your hidden photos because they were flagged as rejected.  I wish LR had the Hidden Photo attribute, it's just a nice way to keep your images in one catalog, but not be bogged down with photos that you rarely need access to.  In some ways, I like the PSE Catalog Organizer better than the LR5 Organizer. There are some PSE features that don't exist in LR for whatever reason.
The other thing to be aware of is that NONE of my offline photos from PSE imported into LR during the catalog conversion, so if you have any of those in your PSE catalog (photos that you have archived to removeable media like CD, DVD, or USB thumb drives) they need to be imported separtely into LR.  It seems like Adobe (as usual) didn't really think through this process all the way.   My experience with Adobe software is that it's really cool when it works which is most of the time, but start to do anything out of the 80/20 rule and things start to get a little dicey. I would never say that it's rock-solid.  Their approach seems to be that if you want to get all the bug fixes, you have to pay to upgrade to the next version (and inherit a whole new set of bugs).      .

  • What is the scanpci tool from pciaccess ?

    Hi,
I'm trying to get a three monitor setup using two graphic cards working, one is PCI-E and the other just PCI. To make things worse, the first one is ATI and the second one nVidia
I specified the BusID option for both graphic cards in the corresponding Device sections in xorg.conf. However, X complains about not finding a graphic adapter at the BusID of the nvidia card, which I found out using lspci, and which is
    01:06.0
so I specified 'BusID "1:6:0"' in the nvidia device section.
    This should normally work, right?
I would like to find out if X can actually see the graphic card. There used to be a "Xorg -scanbus" option which would print the bus ids of the devices that X finds. However, it does not seem to be there any longer.
An old manpage of xorg.conf says about the BusID:
This information can usually be found by running the Xorg server with the -scanpci command line option.
    Now it says:
This information can usually be found by running the pciaccess tool scanpci.
Ok. But I just can't find this scanpci tool, nor a package named pciaccess. There's a libpciaccess which is already installed, but it doesn't contain such a scanpci tool.
What do they mean? I never heard of such a tool. And I can't find it Help!

You could also use IRI NextForm (DB migration tool), or preferably its parent CoSort product (for the data movement speed) in that situation. Both share the same metadata and Eclipse GUI for the source-target connections between Teradata and Oracle. The data movement is either through ODBC, or bulk extract (from TD into flat files) then bulk pre-sorted loads into SQL*Loader, per: http://www.iri.com/blog/vldb-operations/high-speed-database-loading/

  • What happened to "send to soundtrack pro"?

what's the quickest way to round trip to soundtrack pro now? or to adobe soundbooth? (i'd rather use soundbooth than soundtrack pro if possible)

Not a roundtrip option, but Automatic Duck's Pro Export FCP will let you export OMF or AAF.

  • What Happens When You Change From Broadband to Fibre?

Today I'm due to move from Broadband to Fibre......I have no idea when but understand Sky allow for the whole day. However, following complete loss of service (despite the chocolate fireguard green status that Sky were reporting online) caused by cut wires in the network I'm wondering if my current complete loss of service is due to the changeover or just another example of a failure NOT being flagged up because Sky have no staff to actually fall it.
Can anyone please explain what they experienced when they moved from Sky Broadband to Sky Fibre?
    Thanks in advance.

Its quite possible that your current downtime is down to the switch over as with Sky it can(and in most cases on here)take all day to activate(no idea why it takes so long with Sky when i moved to Plusnet i had only 15 minutes downtime).
The only way to know for sure is to get in contact with Sky directly and ask the question.

  • I lost my sound when firefox updated on my computer. Also said something like not compatible to AVG . Does this mean my security is no longer working? What happened to my sound from internet sites????

Sound doesn't work when on the internet. Only has happened since firefox updated on my computer Aug. 25-26 sometime. All of my sound divices work fine off the net.

Reset the SMC and PRAM each at least 2-3 times. I don't know where you got instructions for these resets so please navigate to Intel iMac SMC and PRAM resets for correct instructions just in case.

  • What happened to the 17" Macbook Pro?

I have been using the 17" Macbook Pro since they were created and they have suddenly dissapeared, do they still exist?

The 100% anti-glare is better, however for the MacBook Pro to turn into a iTablet, it can't have a anti-glare film as it's a touchscreen.
The 75% reduced glare likely has a process done on the screen itself to reduce glare, however it's possible to get over 99% reduced glare, but it's probally a military advantage/secret process and China (where Apple gets it's products made) will steal or demand the process in order for buisneses to do buisness in China (like Apple does)
See the picture and videos on this site, this type of glass/acrylic doesn't have any reflections, which would make a excellent touchscreen.

I tried seeing what my max temperature was...
I played taken in hd and bourne ultamatim trailer  at the same time with 2 youtube video playing while plying modern combat.. i had around 85 celcius mark
    Is this normal?

one of the benefits of a laptop
Laptop is a misnomer often applied to notebook computers.
have Apple say their computers should not be used on my lap
Notebook computers violate all basics of ergonomics to facilitate portability. Many users require more comfort than is achieved when using a notebook, which is why stands, external keyboards and mice are all offered by third party vendors to enhance the user experience of their notebook computer.
No human being that has reasonably good posture habits should consider using their lap as a top for a portable computer.
It makes my neck hurt just thinking about it........
I can't believe that OSHA, Workman's Comp Insurance, etc., doesn't have rules against the improper use of notebook computers.....
is supposed to be the ability to not be at a desk.
One of the benefits of these computers is portability. Whether or not that is involves a desk is up to conditions at hand.
Misuse of this portability does not negate the positve attributes that abound.
If you don't want red marks on your lap, use the machine properly....
