What happened to Podcast Producer?

When I bought my Macbook Pro this last Tusday, it came with Lion.
I was able to get the Mountain Lion Upgrade for free from Apple.
Lio had the Podcast Producer and now that my laptop has Mountain Lion
I can't find the Podcast Producer. I don't have the time capsule.
How can I get the podcast producer?

Apple discontinued 'Podcast Producer" and 'Podcast Capture" with OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion).

  • HT200124 what is the podcast producer server?

I am trying to set up my Podcast Capture....it is asking me for "podcast producer server"?

Are you running into a situation where the difference in time between producing an event, and consuming it, is actually causing your problems?  If not, this is not a question worth worrying about.  Use whatever is most appropriate for your application.
There's no need to make wild guesses - build a VI, benchmark and test!  The attached is a reasonable starting point, although I think the event structure may be slow due to setup time but may respond quickly once running.  If you experiment with this, you'll probably find that there's no definite answer to which is fastest.  Changing the size of the RT-FIFO, or of the queue, makes a big difference in speed.  At least in my testing, a single-element RT-FIFO is fastest, but an infinitely large queue is faster than a small queue, and a longer RT-FIFO is much slower than the single-element version.
It's important to realize that RT is not another word for Fast or Efficient, it's another word for Consistent.  For the purposes of real-time (deterministic) execution, it doesn't matter how fast the RT-FIFO functions are so long as they execute in exactly the same amount of time, every time (with the exception of a "forever" timeout value, of course).  You can use either a standard queue or an RT-FIFO to communicate between loops.  One use for an RT-FIFO is when a time-critical loop is enqueuing the data.  It guarantees that the amount of time needed to put data into the FIFO will not vary.  Enqueueing data in a standard queue will sometimes be faster than other times, depending on whether there is already space available in the queue or space needs to be allocated for the new element.  If this variation is unacceptable, then use an RT-FIFO; otherwise, the standard queue works just as well.
If the architecture shown in your image is working for you, I don't see any reason to change it.
EDIT: oops, almost forgot to attach the code I used for testing!

  • What happened to Podcasts in Itunes 10.4.0.80 for Windows?

I just installed Itunes for Windows on Windows 7, it is version 10.4.0.80, on a new computer. I went through the proceudre of subscribing to a podcast by going into Advanced >> Subscribe to Podcast. I expected to be able to see my subsribed podcast appear when I click on the Podcasts header in the navigation tree on the left. This is when I noticed that there is no Podcasts header. In the new version under "Library" I have "Music", "Films", "TV Programmes" and "Radio". I can't remember what version I was using before but I am pretty sure there used to be Podcasts here too. It doesn't appear anywhere on the list. Clearly the podcast section has just been moved somewhere, but where? I have repeated the action of subscribing several times and that seems to work with no errors, so it is definititely not a case of there just not being anything subscribed to. I only use Itunes to listen to podcasts, so this is rather crucial for me! Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light on this mystery.

I found this happeneing too since upgrading from 10.3.x to 10.4 and can't beleive its still there in 10.5.
Mine gets to between 1.2 and 1.6Gb before I get the 'Can't save library' error popup. If it happens late at night then the next day iTunes may be completely unresponsive - can't even bring it in to focus, so have to kill the process in Task Manager.
This iTunes instance has been running for 15min short of one day of continuous playback! and based on it's current memory leakage, it's about to fail.
For what it's worth, you can downgrade to 10.3 (you should be able to find sites archiving previous versions - Apple used to provide a link on their iTunes page, but I can't find it now). I was running or over a week with no decernable memory leakage, but as I wanted to upgrade to iOS5 on my phone, I had to go to 10.5.  I've got a MacBook Pro too, so may use that for iPhone updating and see if iOS5 will still sync music on 10.3 ...via direct USB connect of course!
But, you'll also have to find the various guides for downgrading.
Loosly put, you have to locate the backed up .itl files in your profile. It will have a date stamp in the filename to indicate when the upgrades took place.
    i.e iTunes Library 2010-11-22.itl
It's a bit of trial and error unless you know how many upgrades you've done since 10.3!
On Vista/Server 2008, the path to the backups is
    Users\<your user ID>\Music\iTunes\Previous iTunes Libraries
Make a copy of your current .itl (in the parent iTunes folder) and copy and rename one from the backups. You'll need to rename the file back to the same as the current one (iTunes Library.itl)
Hope this helps and hope that Apple pull the finger out of their cloud!

  • What Happened to Podcast Publisher in Mountain Lion?

I can no longer find my Podcast Publisher in Mountain Lion, Like I am real upset about that. I paid 19.99 to LOSE an app I use? It is even listed as available on the site EXCEPT when you try to go to the description. Is it incorporated somewhere else?

Hark, I fixed that. Had to do the same thing in time machine.
    Error
    Dyld Error Message:
      Library not loaded: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ServerKit.framework/Versions/A/ServerKit
      Referenced from: /Applications/Utilities/Podcast Capture.app/Contents/MacOS/Podcast Capture
      Reason: image not found
Had to remake the following path:  /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ServerKit.framework/Versions/A/
I had to manually re-creat this part of the file tree above, ServerKit.framework/Versions/A/
Then put the "Serverkit" file from time machine in the A directory
    should look like this:
    /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ServerKit.framework/Versions/A/ServerKit
Ran Podcast Capture and it pops up asking what server you want, cool!
I wonder if they dropped the ball on this or just figured no one wanted it?

  • Help I just installed the latest update on my IPhone4 and now I can't open any of my stored podcasts. When I hit the podcast icon, the screen goes white for a second and the goes back to the opening page with all the icons. What happened?

Help! I just installed the latest update on my IPhone 4 and now I can't access my podcasts. When I hit the podcast I on, the screen goes blank for a second and then opens to the home screen with all my icons. What happened?

Try a reset which is similar to a computer restart and is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously you see the Apple logo and then release.

  • What happened to "Mark Podcast as unplayed" in iTunes 11?

What happened to "Mark Podcast as unplayed" in iTunes 11?
When i download a podcast, i don't necessarily want to listen to it immediately on my MacBook -- I want to listen to it later on my iPhone.  But sometimes iTunes starts playing it.  Even if I stop it immediately, iTunes still marks it as "played", and won't send to the iPhone when I sync.
There used to be an option to mark a podcast as unplayed, but that's gone in iTunes 11.
How do I do mark a podcast as unplayed now?

I can't find "Mark All Played/Unplayed" but if you tap "Edit", you can select as many episodes as you want, and then mark those selected episodes as Played/Unplayed.

  • What happened to the tags in my podcasts?

I have used Podrunner's 5K interval training podcast series for years. Now, in the new podcast app, I can't see the tagging that shows me the duriation of the run and rest periods. How do you see the tags? When I click on the podcast image, I only get the reel-to-reel functions.

No, that's just it.  I'm in control of all the Macs.  I hadn't deleted anything from any of them.  Luckily, I was able to use Time Machine to restore the last proper state of the Mobile Documents folder. I've now re-copied everything back to Dropbox for now till I know (with some certainty) what happened.
Thank you for the quick response, but I'm now wary of this Dropbox alternative.

  • What happens to my podcast files stored on idisk for itunes?

What happens to my podcast files stored on idisk for itunes?

Any webspace that provides enough data transfer to cope with your podcasts will do fine. Although check the terms & conditions of whichever webhost you go for, as some may have restrictions on just using their webspace for externally linked files, rather than a website as well.
How much data transfer your podcasts use will depend on how popular they are. MobileMe webhosting allowed 200GB of data transfer per month. If you never went over that, then as long as the new host matches or exceeds that you'll be ok.

  • What is podcasting producer is? Can i buy it? or I need a special server? Really I need help

I want to make Podcasting, but really I don't understand when my system say you need a Podcasting Producer and it requires a server name, so my question is do I need to buy a server? What kind of server do i need?? Or what do I need to know to make my owns podcasts?.

The Podcast Producer and Podcast Capture packages were retired a while ago.  They're no longer part of the current OS X versions.
Unless you're hosting the podcasts from your own Internet server either for your own local users on your network or hosting them publicly on your own network connection (and that chews up your network bandwidth, as well as requiring you to manage a server), these (or similar) packages are (were) not necessary.
As for creating podcasts, use GarageBand on your OS X system or on an iOS device, then upload the finished podcast to the site you're hosting the podcast at; to Apple or whatever other entity is providing the hosting.
There are some podcast creation how-to links on the left side of the Apple Podcasting web page.  There are probably some podcasts and videos on this topic around, too.

  • What happened to the Podcast fast forward 15 sec function in the lock screen? It went away when I upgraded to iOS 7.1.

What happened to the Podcast fast forward 15 sec function in the lock screen? It went away when I upgraded to iOS 7.1.

I thought the same thing, until I saw there is a podcast update as well in the app store, that fixes this.

  • Ehanced Podcasts - What Happened to Them??

iTunes did an update the other day, and now the enhanced podcast function is gone. Normally, with an enhanced podcast, a new menu would show and you could jump right to sections of the podcast from there. Now, it isn't there anymore, even when I play old podcasts that I know used to have this feature.
Does anyone know what happened to it? Did Apple remove it or I am just overlooking it?

It hasn't gone anywhere on mine. I'm curious, though, about where you're looking for the menu. On some previous version of iTunes, the menu was for the chapters was next to the time bar/now playing display (sorry don't know what it's really called). Now, it's up in the menu bar with all the other stuff (File, Edit, etc), just to the left of Help.
I did just notice that you posted this question in Podcasting and Radio in iTunes for Mac but mentioned that you were using iTunes for Windows. If my observation isn't helpful, you may want to try reposting where more Windows users might look.
    Best.

  • What happens if PC without iTunes users click my iTunes Store podcast link?

What happens if a PC user who has the default Windows Media Player installed, but not iTunes, clicks my iTunes Store podcast link (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=FEEDID)?

  • What happened to the 'get all' podcast option?

what happened to the 'get all' podcast option?

    It's disappeared!
I don't mean to be flippant, but I couldn't think of a more appropriate opening response.
I've had this happen to me in the past, and it has just re-occurred with the latest iTunes update. The solution is to download iTunes again (don't remove or delete your existing iTunes) and then start the installation procedure. One of the two options you see should be a Repair option. Use that and all will be well again.
Your post prompted me to repair my iTunes (for just that reason) and while it was running, I noticed a very brief message about "Get Podcast", in other words,it was the repair being applied. The procedure only took a few minutes and I didn't need to close other programmes or re-start my computer.
By the way, I like your user ID, are you intending that your first born becomes ;adxcjghvldxkjfghbv ll?

  • I plugged my i-pod into my mac and all my podcasts disappeared.   What happened?

What happened?  How do I get them back when I haven't backed them up?

I reselected and downloaded podcasts again, but now they have all been deleted again! This began after I updated java.  Could that have something to do with this?

  • What happened to the NRA News podcast?

I can't find the NRA News pocast on I-tunes, what happened to it?

It's evidently been removed, and the episode media files removed from the server. You'd have to ask the people who make it why this is the case.
