What happened to a version of photoshop you could purchase and not have to pay adummy at adobe each month for the privilege to use their software? This is the same thing as paying for protection from the company that makes the software, rather like a union! This is nothing but pure greed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what happened to the stand alone A.pack for creating AC3 files, it seems to have gone when I upgraded to FInal Cut Studio yesterday???

I too was dismayed to find A.pack gone. I like the stand-alone version. There was nothing wrong with it. If you prefer not to use the integrated AC3 processor, install A.pack by inserting your old DSP disk and choosing custom install, selecting only A.pack from the options.

I'm sorry that you're having trouble with your Adobe software. Adobe doesn't offer a trial version of ExportPDF; did you perhaps download a trial of Acrobat?.
In any case, what happens when you try to use the Adobe software or service? Do you get an error message?

What happened to the type tool in Photoshop CS5?

In previous versions of Photoshop, when the type tool hovered over text I could edit, it switched to just the up and down type cursor tool...and when it was over a region where I could click to create a new text layer, the cursor would show up with a little bounding box around it. Now in CS5, it is showing up as the simple up and down type tool whether I am hovered over text or not....so no way of knowing if a click is going to take me into an editable text layer, or if it is going to create a new type layer..until I actually click..
Has anyone else run into this problem? Any idea the cause, or the solution, or is it just a bug, or something that they changed for some reason?

Did you try to reset the text tool? (hit T, then right-click the tool preset icon in the Option bar, and select reset tool)
Usually, to make sure that I can create a new text layer, even if there is already some text, one can hold down the shift key to force the creation of a new text layer.

What happens when the process version is changed to 1.1, for example?

Hi.
A little problem here. I was on the 66 revision of my process and then I made a modification that was incompatible with the previous version.
So, BPM change the version to 1.1.0, but I dont know why, I just cant see the new instances on workspace.
The old ones are ok.
My instances are created by WebService. I know they're been created cause I can see them in log viewer.
I'm in my development server, i'm afraid to upload it to production server and get the same problem.
Any ideias?

There is no explanation...
I tried everything and the instances keep not appearing. I tried even deploy the same version again making a major number increase and it not works either.
So, I restarted the engine and everything worked ok...
Now I can see those instances, even with my .net web service (PAPIWS)...
OBPM is driving me crazy...

When I use the lasso tool and lasso an object, it does not show the dashed lines,
aka marching ants, until I let go of my mouse. Since I can not see the lasso outline,

Rothage, what video card do you have?
The display driver, along with your video card, implements OpenGL, which has much complexity and many different versions and options.
If you've had the same video card for years, and you haven't changed anything, it almost certainly needs a driver update, if not a complete replacement. It depends on how many years, but video cards that run Photoshop well with OpenGL acceleration have only been available for 3 or 4 years, and even today driver updates are being released that enable OpenGL functions not previously available.
Things move on. Photoshop CS5 is using OpenGL differently than its predecessor, and it may turn out (depending on what video card you have) that to get the most out of the very latest Photoshop you'll need to upgrade to one of the very latest video cards. The good news is that cards that run Photoshop very well can be had for well under $100 nowadays.
I suggest, at the very least, visiting the web site of your video card maker, and updating to their latest driver release.
You should also experiment with Photoshop's OpenGL advanced preferences, in the Edit - Preference - Performance menu.

So disappointed in Photoshop Elements 13. Just upgraded from Elements 8 with great expectations that 13 would be better and more powerful. All they did was dumb it down. Wish I could get my money back.

The Extract filter was eliminated as it has been made utterly obsolete by the new selection techniques in CS5.

In Pages I used to be able to edit a template and "save a version" to update the template. Now i have to rename the template to save the changes. Why is this happening? what happen to "save a version"? its no longer an option under "file".

In your description you say the first document opens as the Title you gave it.
Templates always open as Untitled so it sounds like you have saved a regular document, perhaps into your templates folder which is possible.
Since you have already worked on it and it has been previously saved, Lion will now Save for you and Save a Version is available
The other document does open as Untitled so sounds like a real template and as Peggy has pointed out will not have either Revert nor Save a Version until you Save it and have changed something in it.
This is a classic example of just how Apple's supposedly "simplification" of the process, is leading to confusion of what has happened. That the conditions and resulting actions from those conditions is so convoluted says it all.
It all reminds me of the Monty Python Life of Brian sketch with the "simplified" John Cleese instructions to the class, as to if you have a brother in an older dorm whether to hang your hat and bag on the hooks provided. The trouble is Apple does not get the joke, that it is transforming itself into a frequently self contradictory bumbling bureacracy. The price of unchallenged self appointed geniushood.
The incoherent half baked stumbling juggernaut has reached new triumphs with its edict on enforced Sandboxing on developers when it is unable to follow even its own instructions.

several years ago i had adobe photoshop 6 trial version on my desktop computer. i LOVED it, even though i never did get around to buying it. i am now using a laptop with windows 7 and would like to start using photoshop again. photoshop 6 is no longer compatible with windows 7. i haven't been able to find any photo software that i like as much as i liked adobe photoshop 6. i would like to purchase the software, but which version of adobe photoshop is the latest? i know there was photoshop 7, 8....so which version would i be looking for now?

I just updated to Numbers 3.0.1. In the old version if I started to type a name that was already in the spreadsheet, it would automatically fill it in. That doesn't happen in the new version. What am I missing to get that to happen?

If you frequently enter repeating values in a column and don't want to type the same text over and over again, instead of just waiting for Apple's updates why not try using an enhanced feature in Numbers 3 that in many (probably most) situations is even better than "auto-complete"?
Numbers 3 has an enhanced Pop-Up Menu functionality that helps prevent typos or capitalization inconsistencies from creeping in and messing up your data. It is also much more efficient than auto-complete in Numbers for iOS, should you ever want to sync to an iPad or iPhone and do data entry there.
Pop-Up Menu is much enhanced over what it was in Numbers 2.3, and is easy to set up:
Select the whole column or range before formatting as Pop-Up Menu and your existing values in that column or range will pre-populate a menu automatically:
Then you can remove the values you don't want in the list, such as the column header (and possibly some previous spelling errors too!):
And after this easy one-time setup all you have to do thereafter is to choose from the pop-up list when you add rows:

Should you ever want to take your Numbers with you and do data entry on an iPad or iPhone, in a touch interface, pop-ups are much more efficient than typing the first few letters of items. You can scroll with ease through a list of dozens of items to make a pick. Anybody using Numbers cross-platform should favor Pop-Up so they can use their documents efficiently for data input on the go, which can be a productivity booster.

I have several email accounts. In versions prior to 24.5 there was a consolidated inbox, sent, trash, drafts, junk, archives. Below them were actual accounts. Now, each account is listed with it's own inbox, etc.

I really liked working with Photoshop CC, but I'm afraid that this will happen with the real version as well.

This is what the font turns it into (it's supposed to say Chrysler Building & New York Public Library). The font came with Pages which is what I'm working in. It worked before but isn't now.
