What headhones are good for Skype? I want closed type.

What models can i buy to work in Skype? I'd like them to be the best for speech. But I don't need headphones to be able to have better characteristics than my Mac book pro has and let me remind you I don't need to listen to anything but speech. So, I don't need to waste money.

Google, "best headphones for skype"
Compare all the info then make up your mind based on your criteria.

I want to put video from VHS to iMovie what devices work with  a Mac? All the ones I have seen are PC only.

    Hi
There are many to chose from and at different prices and functions.
I got an CANOPUS ADVC-300 - now named Grass Valley ADVC-300 - but can only be bought secondhanded as it's discontinued.
    AND - it's Expensive !
Still to me it's been of 100% value due to it's functions. It can repair broken TimeBase-Code and that means that I can import a LONG VHS tape recorded in EP-mode and with drop-outs.
Cheaper devices = Import will halt at every drop out frames AND Audio will go out of sync.
    • Tedious Baby-sittings when Importing (and multiple re-starting Import)
    • Audio goes out of sync. Tedious labor to by hand correct this !
Then my A/D-box also came with some rather advanced Picture Enhancing programs/settings.
So in all - I Love it.
BUT Surely there are much cheaper solutions for those that
    • makes short VHS Imports
    • New VHS tape Without any Drop-outs (less than a Year old)
    • Patience of an Angle
OBSERVE ! - If You talk about BOUGHT VHS-tapes as from Disney - FORGET IT - NO A/D-box can break the CopyProtection. And even a theoretical discussion about this is FORBIDDEN in this Forum - as it is a GLOBAL forum and just the discussion is forbidden in countries as Germany etc.

What folio cases are out there that don't damage the new macbook pro retina display 15" I keep looking but can't find any, they all seem to have serious negative reviews

be specific,  hard case or CARRY CASE?
hard cases are not recommended, trap in dust and junk and trap heat
A great carry case, and best made for the money are those made by INCASE as seen in Apple stores and amazon.com

  • Componentlist and what the components are good for

    Hello,
I am searching for an overview of the NW's '"standard" component and it's meaning to recognize which components I need to update and what they are used for.
Has someone seen something like this?
    Thank you, Maximilian

    Hi,
As per my understanding you are trying to find and update the software components in the SAP system.
You can find ABAP side components in SPAM display all packages.
If for java the go to http://ipaddress:5xx00\index.html
Then navigate to system info it will show you all the java components present in your system,
And you have to aptch all this components.
    Regards,
    Vamshi.

I want to get a Skype online number for business use, but found the Skype Terms of Service states that "If Skype allocates you an Online Number or Skype To Go Number, you do not own number or have a right to retain that number forever. Skype may need to change or withdraw the number allocated to you from time to time."
What is the possibility for Skype to withdraw or change my online number?  I don't want to change the number after I print them out on my business cards.  Thanks!

I'm glad you took a moment to read through the legal stuff, and found that point.  Skype does claim ownership over the Online Numbers it offers.  In practice, for most countries, there should be no need to worry about Skype making changes to your number.
It is possible that the number could be changed in the future, if something in the country or area where your number is changes - i.e., changes in area/city codes.  If the changes are imposed upon Skype by its partner providing the Online Number in that country, or by local/national regulations in that area, Skype would have no choice but to make changes to numbers.  In the past, numbers have been cancelled when Skype and the local company providing the Online Number service to Skype have ended their business relationship.  This could happen again in the future for numbers in other countries.  Anything is possible, but how likely this is may be minimal.

  • Edge and Next are good for the corporations but are they good for the consumer?

Ok so I have never paid full price upfront for a phone!  Ever since my first phone from VoiceStream I have opted for what ever phone was "free" because way back then (I blush as I type) I actually thought the phone was "free!!!" Ah, to be naive again!! But as we all know the phones never were nor will they ever be free.
However I say programs like Verizon's Edge and AT&T's Next are good for the corporation if they weren't they would not exist.  The first reason I say this is because Edge and Next allow the cellular service provider to easily recoup the entire cost of the phone in a clear way unlike with subsidized phones that muddy the profit water.  For example, the Verizon 64GB iPhone 5s retails for $849.99, currently with a two year contract you pay $399.99 for that 64GB iPhone 5s.  The EFT for that phone is $350 (minus $10 per month of post paid service).  If you on the 15th the day after you got your phone you paid the EFT but kept service you only paid $749.99 for that $849.99.  Sure you still pay for service but you can leave when ever and Verizon cannot say hey you owe us $100 more for you phone.  Its yours and they can't take it back and the only way Verizon will get that $100 back is though another customer  that subsidized a much lower cost phone that at the completion of that contract Verizon will  more than recoup the cost of that lower priced unit. To top that off you could turn around and sell the phone for $800 go back to Verizon or another provider buy a $450 phone and break even.  I'm not suggesting that people do that or that it may prove to be a big hassle for some that went through all the trouble.  Its just a point to show that subsidized phones make the profits less clear for the service provider to see at first glance.
Second reason these programs are good for the corporation is they allow the service providers to get a better grasp on the true cost of maintaining their networks and providing us the consumer access to their networks.  Third reason it good for the corporation is the people that feel the need to upgrade every six months to a year are required to pay at least 50% of the retail cost of the phone at the same time they must surrender that device in exchange for the new device.  So the service provider then has the phone refurbished certified to be in "like new condition" and sell it again potentially making more than retail cost when the profits of both sales of the same handset are factored together.
That being said what will the impact of programs like Edge and Next have on cost of future cellular service plans and smartphones?  Over time will the service provider give us the best per line access fee (not likely but maybe)? Or will people upgrading their smartphones at faster intervals cause the cost of the smartphones to drop over time? What are your thoughts?

  • What settings are required for DP_PROC_TY,CT_PROC_TY,TEND_TYPE

    hai friends
what settings are required for DP_PROC_TY,CT_PROC_TY,TEND_TYPE
    Thanks a lot
    Regards
    VinayKrishna

    Hi Vinay,
    1. For DP_PROC_TY  you need to give the transaction type or R/3 document type you want to use for creating direct material POs. Could be ECDP given in the standard or copy of which you might  have created.
    2. For CT_PROC_TY it is either PCTR or GCTR depending what you want to create local contract or GOA.
    3. TEND_TYPE can have BID, RFCR etc depending on what type of bid invitaion you want to create form sourcing cockpit or as follow on bid invitaion.

  • What is Java good for?

I need to develop a really serious solution for Win2K server, that will handle security data. Now I am thinking of a platform to do it. Can Java really secure the data I will trust to store it? I mean various mulfunctions, program bugs, errors, so on. Microsoft really insists on trusting its programs, not Java's (see the installiation guide for Win2K: 'Java cannot be used for medical, technical (for example handling the nuclear enterprises) ...'), so I don't know what to do. Developing a Java solution will be simplier that doing the same thing with VC.Net, but ... What do you think? What is Java good for?

Microsoft really insists on trusting its programs, not Java'sDo you trust Microsoft?
(see the installiation guide for Win2K: 'Java cannot be used for medical, technical (for example handling
the nuclear enterprises) ...'), so I don't know what to do. The nuclear bit is in the Java license ("You acknowledge that Software is not designed, licensed or intended for use in the design, construction, operation or maintenance of any nuclear facility.") I think it's probably either a result of US law requiring some certification or other for software used in nuclear facilities, or a preemptive move by Sun to forestall possible lawsuits.
The JVM is stable, probably more so than .NET since it's older, and should be suitable for your use, based on the description so far. The things you need to worry about are primarily personnel and hardware configuration (i.e. disabling virtual mem).

  • What is -Xms good for?

The java option "-Xms" specifies the initial size, in bytes, of the memory allocation pool. But what is it good for, other than the additional memory may be get a little more quickly when
default size < required size < initial size set with -Xms
If an application requires more memory, the JVM allocates more memory up to -Xmx.

okay, but what if i can't predict, how much memory is
needed? (in my case, the application generates PDF
files based on dynamic XSL/XML content that could get
    arbitrary big.)
another point is, that the application should not
behave "intrusive" by claiming all memory it can get.
instead it should only claim what it really needs. These are some of the reasons why the JVM, by default, adapts its
memory usage. If you go and change its behaviour by specifying
memory usage options then you are of course able to make the JVM
play unfairly with the available system resources.

  • Exam 70-483 what is it good for?

what is it good for taking the exam?
if you have a CS degree and c# experience, yet can you benefit from passing the exam?

    Hey Lemon Sky,
Degree is very important, but there are businesses that require certificates from Microsoft (this is essential if they are business partners of Microsoft they have several employees with valid certification).
You explain the title of most logic and the practical aspect based on Microsoft systems, to take the exam should know the system and in a practical and not just theoretical. So it can add a lot.
This test is part of the third Test categories: MCSD: Windows Store Apps Using C#
    https://www.microsoft.com/learning/en-us/mcsd-windows-store-apps-certification.aspx
If you pass this test, there are 2 more tests you upgrade the current certification

  • What is reflection good for?

i heard people use reflection with rmi, but what it is good for?
if i use reflection to figure out what methods etc a class has, how do i know what they do?

Oh cool, you just gave me an idea!
Storing bean class names in a db and upon retrieval of any name, a single utility can construct an entire GUI editor panel for any variety of java bean conforming to the Java Bean specifications. This way, if ever I want to add a new Panel to an application for a new module or set of features, all I would hypothetically have to do is create the bean and add the name to the db and load up my app without even having to create the new GUI interface for editing it.
    thanks!
Oh and one other additional thing reflection is good for, is interfacing with XML config files using the attribute names as identifiers for locating the setters (E.g., Spring Framework) as well as a bunch of other related XML things.
Your imagination is your only limit. I would excercise caution in where and how you use it though. Usually best to use in initialization routines rather than runtime functions or during exhaustive processes.
