What is a Dynamic Proxy Class or Method for?

I only recently "discovered" proxy classes/methods.
Im rather curious about them because I still cant manage
to understand what they do or what theyre for.
Can anyone give a simple and practical use for this language feature?
I read this:

Dynamic proxy class

Hello every body,
i have my own package .inside my package i use invoke method form java.lang.Reflect . This invoke method call method from out side package at run time .However, becuase i try to call method from outside package and not public i get the follwoing Exception :

can i use dynamic proxy class in the reflect package to solve my problem ???
Actually , when i back to proxy class i found that it also depend on invoke method in the invokation handler

Why are you calling a non-public method in unrelated class in another package? The maintainer of that package has no responsibility to ensure that the signature or behavior of the method does not change. A later change in that package could break your code.
The access rules in Java are set up to prevent exactly this sort of thing, so it's not a problem to be overcome. It's not a bug... it's a feature!

Dynamic proxy class from a Class instead of an Interface

Why is not possible to create a dynamic proxy class from a Class instead of an Interface, using java.lang.reflect.Proxy?
I have seen the source code of Proxy :
     * Verify that the Class object actually represents an

It seems to be restricted as a desing desition. Has someone knows about the reason of that?
There is a workarround for creating dynamic proxy classes from any POJO which not implements any interface?

The JDK doesn't allow you to proxy classes for a few reasons: it encourages you to use interfaces - often a good idea - and also, proxying of classes exposes you to unpredictable behaviour. Since dynamic proxies are created by generating a new class at runtime, if you proxied a class you'd be generating a subclass of that class, and if the superclass had any final methods, the proxy wouldn't be able to intercept invocation of them, so your proxy wouldn't work properly. Also, the superclass would actually be loaded, which could produce other unpredictable results if, say, that class had a static initializer. With an interfaces, you generate an object that just has the public API described by the interface, with a class, you're actually generating a subclass of the proxied type, which isn't the same thing
If you really want to proxy a class rather than an interface, there are various third-party libraries around that will do it for you. ASM, CGLIB, BCEL to name a few. My choice would be ASM, but really I'd urge you to try and re-design with interfaces if at all possible

   for using EVENTS and our own code inside it -
   It is provided using FORM/PERFORM
   concept only.
2. At this stage,we cannot use classes.
3. However, inside the FORM routine,
   we can write what ever we want.
   We can aswell use any abap code, including
   classes and methods.
(But this classes and methods won't have any
   effect on the EVENT provided by maintenance view)

Trying to find a class or method for showingStatus in application StatusBar

hey ever language has a class or method to show the status of the application in the status bar but i have not been able to find one in java uptill now i am still searching for some thing to help is there any one that can help me

Implementing a status bar is up to you, but it's not
hard. Use BorderLayout as the layout manager of your
main window, add JLabel statusJLabel to
BorderLayout.SOUTH, and call statusJLabel.setText with
each status message.can you be more specific about the call thingy

What is the most secure password transfer method for POP3 supported by Thunderbird?

I will receive eMail from a POP3-Server that support encrypted transfer of passwords with the SASL-Methods "SCRAM-SHA-1" and "SCRAM-SHA-256" (successful tested with the command line tool 'mpop') but Thunderbird say that the Server does not support encrypted transfer of Passwords. I think in real Thunderbird does not support the strong Methods offered by the POP3-Server.
What is the most secure method for Password transfer on POP3 that is supported by Thunderbird?

I have web services defined in interfaces Service1, Service2, Service3 deployed using a deploy.wsdd that contains the class names Impl1, Impl2, Impl3 that implements their respective interfaces.
What I want to do now is to replace Impl1, Impl2, Impl3 with instances of dynamic proxy classes that I will create using my factory.
I just want to tell Axis something like:
Implement each service by calling
Class MyFactory.getImpl(Class serviceInterface).
How can I tell Axis to do that?

Problem calling AS3 class's methods from Flex Project

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but after 2 days of Web
searching and 2 books give up; I am a Java and c# programmer and am
having problems calling AS3 classes (in packages) from Flex Builder
2 Flex Projects; the AS3 classes work great as Flex Builder "AS3
Projects", but when I try to use the classes in a Flex Builder
"Flex Project" I am able to see and set their properties, but
cannot see (through "code completion") their methods (unless the
class extends another AS3 class; and in that case I can see the
base class's methods). Here is the code:

Thanks, I have it working; I was not assigning an "ID" to the
"MXML use of the class" (whatever the formal name for that is;
like: <asTheText:CheckWord id="MyText" strData="The Data" />
) and then I was not referencing that ID in what I am refering to
as calling methods for the Class; like:
<mx:Button id="butTest" label="Test Function" x="39"
y="208" click="MyText.TestMethod();"/>
Also, I did some tests on this, and I am shocked that
apparently neither of these two "uses"(?) of a custom AS3 class
actually "call" the Class's constructor. Does that make sense or is
that the result of how I am structuring this?

I wrote some peice of code in rule and activated in development system .
It was activated and transproted into Test environment .
It went with errors .
The error is :
BI 7.0 is totallly OOABAP with classes and methods .
for each and every rule BI 7.0 will create Class definetion and class implementation .
I have declared glaobal variables in
CLASS lcl_transform DEFINITION.
PUBLIC SECTION.
and i used those variables in methods
CLASS lcl_transform IMPLEMENTATION.
METHOD compute_ZRELALLOC.
when i tranasprorth this rule , the golabl declaration in Class are not going .
Thatswhy my transport failed and it says that syntax error .
how to transport this class ........

Try look for any SAP Note or create Customer Message to SAP. It's clearly Program Error. We can't collect "lcl_transform" class into Transport Request Independently as it was local Class not Global Class.
Try transporting Transformations again, if it still gives problem. Contact SAP.
Let us know if you implement any SAP Notes.

What kind of version checking should be done for applications using SQLDBC

This query is regarding the kind of version checking that an application should do.
Currently I am building my application in MaxDB version of 7.6.05.09, which is the community edition available on the sdn download site currently, this will change to the enterprise edition once we have finalized everything in terms of code and packging etc....
Now when the application is shipped to customer site, what kind of version checking should the application do to ensure that the version of library/kernel/client/sdk it has been built with is consistent with the one that is installed at the customer site.
From what i see SQLDBC exposes the following method for getting version related information.
char * SQLDBC_Environment_getLibraryVersion(SQLDBC_Environment* hdl);
char *getSDKVersion();
SQLDBC_Int4 SQLDBC_Statement_getKernelVersion(SQLDBC_Statement* hdl); (Note: Wondering why should a handle to SQLDBC_Statement be needed to find the Kernel version)
Just to give you little more hint of what i am talking about, for MySQL database we use the functions
mysql_get_client_version and mysql_get_server_version and check that the values returned by these functions are less than the value which was used at build time.

Returns the version of used SQLDBC runtime.
This is the version of the used SQLDBC library. The version of the loaded
runtime may differ from the version inidacted in the used header. It is our
aim that newer versions of the runtime will run with old applications without
the need to be re-compiling.
Therefore, for compatibility checks, use getLibraryVersion.
getKernelVersion is also available from the connection:
SQLDBC_Connection::getKernelVersion()
