What is .asmx    in .wsdl file

hi all,
I had received a .wsdl file from my service provider . when I make the request using that .wsdl file
I am getting the following error
HTTP operation 'POST' could not be performed on URL '/TravelService/HotelsService.asmx' due to an error:
A connection with the server could not be established
and when I say ok
I get one more message.
The web service has sent an empty response!
what is this.asmx means how do i resolve the problem.
thanks in advance....

hi,
i guess the extension .asmx is an extension of the webservices created by visualstudio.net...

XSD (XML Schema Definition), is an abstract representation of a XML characteristics.
The WSDL (Web Services Description Language), describes the functionality offered by your web service.
You can say what operations your services offers, and describe the messages used for this operations in your XSD.

Please let me knoe if this is the right forum to post the query below:

I am not sure what we are missing in XSD file that the XML output is not getting transformed correctly...although we tried transforming the XML output by removing some information in XML output above and it was getting trasformed properly..
    We remove
    1. xmlns = "http://tempuri.org/Projectix20/SOAPAccess" from <ExecuteSQLToXMLResponse xmlns = "http://tempuri.org/Projectix20/SOAPAccess" >
    2. xmlns = "" from <NewDataSet xmlns = "" >
3 remove <parameters > and </parameters > tags from output and the XML Output is getting tranformed correctly.
Please let us know if we can transform the XML Output without requiring these removals.
    Thanks,
    Pawan

Could you clarify some things? You are saying you are trying to transform the xml output of a webservice with an xsd, but an xsd is a schema that describes the allowed format of a xml file. If you want to transform xml from one format to an other (from one xsd to an other) you have to use a xsl file. You can make and test this with JDeveloper. Are you calling the webservice from esb or bpel?
    Kind Regards,
    Andre

  • JAX-WS: SAXParseException parsing MSN Search WSDL file

I'd like my java app to use JAX WS to make calls to the SOAP API for Microsoft's Live Search. The WSDL file is located at: http://soap.search.msn.com/webservices.asmx?wsdl
I download that file and called it msn.wsdl. I then ran the command "wsimport msn.wsdl", which resulted in the following error:
error: invalid WSDL file! failed to parse document at "file:/C:/dev/msn.wsdl": org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: The prefix "wsdl" for element "wsdl:definitions" is not bound.I don't know if this is relevant or not, but the wsdl:definitions tag looks like this:
<wsdl:definitions targetNamespace="http://schemas.microsoft.com/MSNSearch/2005/09/fex">And there is nothing at the specified URL (http://schemas.microsoft.com/MSNSearch/2005/09/fex).
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get this working? (Better yet, has someone else already done this and created a jar file that I can download?)
I'm using jdk 1.6.0_03-b05 on Windows.

    Hello,
And there is nothing at the specified URL (http://schemas.microsoft.com/MSNSearch/2005/09/fex).This is namespace, not a correct internet location in this case.
There should be following declaration for wsdl namespace in "definition" tag:
xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" I think you copied wsdl from firefox window or something like that. Use "save as" option of the internet browser or tool like wget to save this file.
This is correct "definition" tag for this wsdl:
    <wsdl:definitions
        xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
        xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"

  • Look up for wsdl file

    Hi All,
How to look up for a wsdl file for a web service deployed or published fromXI.
I know that there is an option for saving wsdl file while defining a web service in Integration Directory. but what if somone has lost it. Is there any other way to look up for the wsdl file?
    Piyush

    Hi Bhavesh,
If I publish wsdl in UDDI, will it automatically take changes or I have to redefine it?
e.g I change the parameters of one method from two to three. So will it be automatically reflected or I've to again redefine a web service?
Second is that how to stop or undeploy a web service. where to find that option ?

Because, i am a java developper, i have choose Netbeans 6.1 to secure it.That has to be the most random thing I've read in some time.
do you know how can i do to integrate my animation .swf inside my java class?Java can't play SWF files and Flash can't handle Java classes, so what you're suggesting here doesn't make a lot of sense.

  • How to open a wsdl file in Weblogic Workshop 10.3? Cannot seem to do so!

Hello, I'm new to Weblogic Workshop 10.3 & will be working with learning how to develop and use webservices using the application. I have a WSDL file which i want to use in a project but cannot seem to import or use the file as required.
If I click on "File -> New -> Service Control ->" I get the option to "Select the WSDL file to use" however I cannot find any WSDL files I copy into my workbench folder. Even if I close the project, close workshop, re-open workshop, reopen a project the WSDL file are not available to choose.
Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong or how to resolve this issue?
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks.

The Adobe PDF printer is no longer available in Snow Leopard. This is an announce to this fact at the entrance to the Acrobat Macintosh forum. The old methods for doing what you want will not work in Snow Leopard. I recommend you look at Quite Imposing. It can do everything you want and more. Alas, it comes at a price.

  • Error while writing wsdl file

    Hi,
i' m working on jdeveloper 10.1.3.1.0 and when i want to add a partner link to my BPEL project i get 'error while writing wsdl file' 'exception null' error then i couldn't create file.
so how can i solve this problem?
    HELP:)

Once the wrapper procedure is created by the adapter, the adapter does a second search to obtain the information about the wrapper (i.e. parameters, their data types, etc.). What's likely happening here is that the wrapper is getting created, but the adapter can't find it. The XSD is based on the wrapper, so if it can't be found, then no XSD can be generated. Try removing the existing wrapper package or choose that option in the wizard when it generates a new one.

    Regards

    Hi Tony,
Somehow I solved this issue. I dont remember what exactly I did, as it was sometime back in December. I think I used the Wizard initially to do the configurations in Solution Manager and again i tried to do the same manually as the earlier one threw some errors.
It seems the wizard proceeded half-way through and hence the entry was made in the database already and hence that error.
Anyways thank you for replying me.
    best regds,

    Thanks

    HI
try to save it once again and try or you can use the wsdl url directly . or other option you can do is
use the webservice model(deprecated) . maybe this could solve your problem .

  • Error in loading the WSDL file. Check the error log for more details

    Hello,
I am trying to create a Import Adaptive Webservice Model. I am using the WSDL:
    http://www.abysal.com/soap/AbysalEmail.wsdl
I am getting the below error when I choose WSDL source as UDDI or file (I am not using any logical destination)
"Error in loading the WSDL file. Check the error log for more details."
Where can i see the error log? And what is the solution to fix this?
I am able to create the model if i save the wsdl locally on my machine and choose Local File System or File as the WSDL source. But at runtime this fails as the application tries to read the WSDL for metadata info and it looks into the application server for this file.
I also tried creating the old webservice model. And it is able to create the model. But I feel I need to use the new model as this one is deprecated.
    Thanks,
    Sachin

    Hi John,
For changing the Proxy Settings in NWDS.
    Navigate to Window --> Preferences.
Under Work Bench, Select Proxy Settings.
    There is a Check box saying "Use Proxy Sever", uncheck this one;
and try imprting you WSDL file again.
    Hope it helps.
