What is image title tag?

I've read about it and don't get it. I see alt field, but
have no idea about images title tags. thanks

I'm afraid you've mistaken me for the person who wrote the
W3C standards.
You have wasted a perfectly good rant.
Had you done a bit of homework you would know that IE's
display of the alt
tag is essentially a bug, not a feature.
I was just responding to your wondering about why DW favored
the alt tag.
Fact remains the alt tag is part of the accessibility
standard, title is
not. Would it be nice if DW made it easy to add? Yes, I think
so. But that
was not the issue.

  • The Location bar shows me the TITLE tag info for a page in large font + the URL in small font. How can I turn off the display of the Title tag, I just want to see a list of URL's. Bad design to force it that way, I don't like it. I know what a URL is.

    '''YAHOO'''
    http://www.yahoo.com
I don't need the YAHOO. I find it so completely annoying that you have forced me to look at TITLE tags when I am trying to find the URL I want. This ought to be a setting that I could control. Is there a hack into my registry, or something along those lines, so I can turn off this horrible design element.

Mozilla hasn't changed anything like that in Firefox 3.6.x versions, which is getting security patches but not any further development of new or existing features. Plus, Mozilla doesn't install anything related to Yahoo, something else probably installed that.

  • Is it possible to add keywords, title tags, and alt tags to lightbox images and/or triggers?

I am building a mobile site that is pretty heavily dependant on lighbox displays for the scroll capability. The issue I have run into is that I need to be able to add alt and title tags to the images in the lightbox (slideshow) to maintain the seo of my site. I have only designed a few of the pages thus far, and the issue I am running across is that once an image is considered a "trigger" by muse I can no longer add the seo elements in the same way I can when it's an image.
A few ways around this I found are:
    1) export the site to Dreamweaver and then I can go in to the code and add the seo for the images in the lighbox on the backend.
    2) I can build the site image by image and then over lay each trigger for the lighbox slideshow.
The issue with #1 is that once I export my site to dreamweaver it is then no longer editable in muse. I see this presenting a huge problem as I move forward with new iterations of my website. Any changes made in dreamweaver are not transferable to muse and thus creating two seperate sites. That means I would need to recreate any and all seo built in every time I update the site. This is not really an option and is not efficien at all. Is there a way to jump back and forth between these two products that I am unaware of? That would be most helpful.
The issue with #2: I have built each project page on the site as mostly large background images with triggers over laid. I did this to try and lower the overall gerth of the site, but it is seeming I am not going to be able to get around this and maintain the seo i am looking for.
Has any one run into this problem and solved it?
Here is the site thus far:

    Thank you for your feedback!

Placed images and slideshow images support tooltips (the "title" attribute) and alt text via the "Edit Image Properties..." content menu.
Strictly speaking, background images (fill images) in HTML do not support these tags. That said, in some contexts it may make sense for Muse to enable setting these attributes on an arbitrary object (which may, or may not, have a fill image).

Currently Muse CC 2014 for Images is a Joke

This page instructs SEO for everything, which for the most part is all OUT OF DATE! and lets not forget, they dont work.
SEO an Image the instructions you have to use in MUSE CC 2014
    1. Right click image
    2. Edit Image Properties
    3. Fill in - Tooltip (this should be the title tag for image)
    4. Fill in- Alternative Text
The ONLY thing that works correctly is the Alternative Text.
9 times out of 10 the 'Tooltip' for the title tag of your image will not be represented in the code.
    For example:

    Get your stuff together bro.

Do you mean that you see that tooltip all the time?

  • Title tag does not display all characters

    Hello,
I think my question is probably extremely easy, but because I am new, I have no idea..
I bought a web template and so far all is fine.
One thing, Each page has a header, body text that is all entered by an xml file.
The header should be displayed by the title tag content. It looks like this...
    <title>Text Field 2</title>
But when I look at my browser, some of the characters "Text Field 2" are missing and it displays "e Fed"
please check this link to see what I mean...
    http://test.familycards.nl/
Does anyone have any idea why some characters do not appear? I tried caps, numbers,.. they all react the same.
    thank you in advance...

Thank you for your response and help!
I did think of that.. Unfortunately the template did not come with .fla files, only a host of xml files. I did look for font info to see if perhaps there
might be conflicts with fonts or missing fonts. but as far as I can interperate the coding, cant find anything.. I will now include some coding here.
    Perhaps it is helpful?

  • Unique Meta Title Tags for each Photo HTML Gallery

I am using Lightroom 3.2 I would like to hack the HTML Web Gallery Engine to create unique title meta tags for each photo when it is selected for better search engine performance. I have been trying to mess around with the code and have not figured out what code I need to change. Does any one know what file I would need to change and what I would need to change it to enable a unique title tag based on the title of the actual photo in the HTML Web Galleries? Thanks for any help. I'm not a hard core coder by any means. There has to be someone out there that knows their LR very well.
    Best regards,
    Matt George

    Sean,
I tried switching <title>$metadata.siteTitle.value</title> to <title>$metadata.image.title</title> in the head.html file, but that just gave me a big error in LR when previewing the gallery.
I tried switching metadata.siteTitle.value to image.metadata.title in galleryInfo.lrweb file, but that did not work either.
I figure there must be a basic way to implement <title>Unique Photo Metadata Title</title> for each large photo html page in the Lightroom galleries, but I have not been able to figure it out. I assume I'm close, but since I'm not a coder like you I thought I would ask you. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Trying to add img scr, alt and title tags to a Photoshop created web gallery.

I need to add some tags to a web photo gallery created by Photoshop. I've posted the same question in the PS Forum just in case.
I need to add img src, alt and title tags to the images in the web gallery. Normally this is as simple as working on the code in the html page in which the image sits but the PS gallery doesn't seem to be that simple. I'm not sure exactly what file to put these tags in.
Can anyone tell me exactly how, and which files I need to work on, to add these tags to each of my 42 gallery images?
    Thanks.
    John.

The gallery is a mess and I might just rebuilt it using something else like Jalbum, but here it is: http://thewoodshopmalvern.com/ThumbnailGallery/index.htm
Yes, I'm sorry, I'm trying to add ATTRIBUTES to the <img> tag.
For the rest of the site I have simply gone to each of the html pages and updated the code itself - pretty straightforward. But PS seems to use Javascript in making this gallery and unfortunately I just don't know enough about Java to understand exactly where I need to add these attributes.

  • Help with Find / Replace button title tag contents (text)

    Hi there,
I designed my site with Sitegrinder (Medialab) –
Currently all the title tags generated for buttons are the same as
    the actual html page name.
The problem with this is that the tooltip which appears in
browsers when you hover over the button with the mouse gives you
the page name. Instead I want to use these tooltips to give the
user an indication of what the function of the button is.
An example: A zoom button above an image: Currenty the
tootlip says “zoom imagename pagename” – Instead
it should say “click here to zoom”.
I need help to get the Dreamweaver Find and Replace tool to
batch replace these tags for me for about a 100 pages.
Here is an example of the code:
    <body>
    <div id="id1zoomimpastooilweddingbutton"><a
    href="zoomimpastooilwedding.html"
    title="zoomimpastooilwedding"></a></div>
I only want to replace the text in the title tag - Since the
text “zoom” appears several times in the body, I
can’t get the Find tool to pick up and Replace the occurrence
of “zoom” in the title only…….
    Options I’ve tried:
Search Current document: Search for: “specific
    tag”: “title”, “containing”:
“text” = zoom (I’ve tried this with
    “zoomimpastooilwedding” and zoom[^”]* with no
    results
I’ve also tried: Search for: “specific
    tag”: “body”, “containing”:
    “specific tag” “title”
    “containing”: “text” = zoom
    etc……………..
I need help with what parameters to enter in order to find
and replace all the text within the title tag with my own text
    Thanks very much!
    Anton

You have ~ 100 pages, each of which has images with title
    attributes (not
tags), all of which BEGIN with the letters "zoom"?
What do you want to replace that text with? Wouldn't it be
    different for
each button? Or do you mean that you would do multiple
    sitewide searches,
one for each button? This illustrates how wrong it is to not
    use DW
Templates or server-side includes to simplify the management
    of your
    navigation elements....
Did you ask Medialabs if it would be possible to specify this
    before
    generating the HTML?
How did you like working with SiteGrinder? It looks like a
    nice product to
me, although I'm not fond of the final results code-wise....

  • Title tag requested

    Hello,
dreamweaver should havea box for the title tag or when you add an alt tag to an img Dreamweaver should automatically add the title tag with the same information of the alt tag.
Is this supported? is there any update or extension for this?
    Thanks

The difference is completely explained on the W3C website, but in a nutshell -
    * the alt attribute's value is only shown when the local browser has been configured to NOT fetch images.  If this is the case, you will actually see the alt attribute's content on the page in the place where the image would normally be shown.  This display is not a timed display - as long as you are looking at the page, the alt attribute's contents will be shown.  In addition, the alt attribute's value is read by a screen reader to describe the image (which obviously cannot be seen).  The alt attribute and its value, therefore, is an accessibility enhancement.  I don't believe it serves any other function.
    * the title attribute's value is shown as a 'tooltip' on the screen as you hover over the image with the pointer.  It is intended to contain information about the FUNCTION of the image, not a description of the image, for example "click to see an enlargement".  It has no accessibility function, but can be used by Search Engines to garner information about the page and its mission.  The display of this information is timed - the tooltip will disappear after a few seconds.
I believe that is the primary difference between them.
So, if that is what you meant in your original post, I don't think it's a desirable thing to always have the same information in each.  Notwithstanding that, I do believe I recall an extension for earlier versions of DW that would do this - have you looked on the Adobe Exchange?

  • What version of ID3 tags does the zen xfi use?

I spend more time re-starting my player, and watching the rebuilding progress bar (only for it to fail) than I do actually listening to the **bleep** thing.
I use media monkey to manage my files, and I've set it to only write id3v2. mp3tag reports these as id3v2.3. In the belief and hope that the problem with the player is corrupt tags (which I don't think ought to cause a problem if it were built properly) I've spent hours making sure they're all tidy, cross-checking with mp3tag.
This failed to stop my player crashing several times a day. I reluctantly brought creative media centrale out of retirement to check the tags. This reported that a few of the files had bad tags, although there was nothing visibly different about them in media monkey or mp3tag. When I used the automatic 'fix tags' function in centrale, mp3tag reported that it wrote id3v tags.
So, as per the subject line, does anyone know what version of id3 tags the player actually supports?

i really have no problems with this one. but i still am interested with the a detailed answer to this one too.

  • How to add src, alt and title tags to a PS generated Web Photo Gallery

I do some web design and need to add some tags to a web photo gallery created by Photoshop. Maybe this question should be directed to the GoLive / Dreamweaver Forum but since the gallery was created in PS I thought I'd start here.
I need to add src, alt and title tags to the images in the web gallery. Normally this is as simple as working on the code in the html page in which the image sits but the PS gallery doesn't seem to be that simple.

    John.

You can't do it in Photoshop.
You can open the pages in a text editor adn easily ad any tags you want. They are simply html pages.
If you really want to, you can use Dreamweaver or Golive. Using a text editor is generally faster and easier because you can just copy/paste between the files and not have to worry about code rewriting in the WYSIWYG applications. Don't believe the GoLive/Dreamweaver hype about "round trip code" they both will alter code.

I have a very big website and I would like to find a way to

FIND area or what ever you
have there that needs to be changed throught out your site.
it the replace window paste <title>guinness or what

  • Title Tags not working with iWeb SEO Tool

I created my website using iWeb and realizing iWeb is very controlling over title tags and such, I downloaded the iWeb SEO Tool.  I have recorded my title tags and codes but when I search my site on google, Home is still recorded as the title tag.  I even went so far as to add an HTML Snippet to change the title tag using java script but still no luck.  Please help!

    The main question is :
Does the title you added show in the browser title bar?
If it does then SEO tools did its job.
But don't expect Google to stand waiting next to you and updates its database after you pressed the ok button.
Check again in a few weeks/months.
And do not waste your time with that silly application or using a JavaScript in the HTML Snippet for the intended purpose. Google does not execute the JavaScript.
Just read this very carefully :
iWeb uses the textbox in the Header layer of an iWeb page as the title in the browserwindow.
Do not remove the original textbox, as you cannot replace it other than by selecting another theme and then change it back to the original theme again. Ruining the layout in the process.
If the textbox in the Header is missing, iWeb uses a textbox down the page in the Content layer. If that textbox is also missing, it uses another textbox. If that fails it uses the pagename in the Sidebar.
Sometimes you may want a different text in the titlebar and not display it on the page itself. Or not display it at all.
So use that textbox in the Header layer. Type your text. Then select the textbox. In the Inspector choose T, click a color to open the color palette and drag the opacity slider to 0 (zero).
Do Command-T to open the font palette and make the font smaller. (Or do Command--(minus)) Also use a font that doesn't change to an image. Arial is a good font. Perhaps do it first before making the text invisble.
Resize the textbox. You may want to change the height of the Header layer.
Do Command-Shift-B to move the textbox to the back, possibly behind other objects.
Next add a optional second textbox to the Header layer and use that one to display text on the page.
If you want to move the textbox to the front again to make changes, but can't remember the location on the page, drag the area with the mouse to select the objects.
Deselect objects you do not want to move forward by Command-dragging the mouse over these objects.
Next do Command-Shift-F to move the textbox to the front. Repeat the steps in reverse order to make the text visible.
    Practice.
Then concentrate on creating interesting webpages.
