What is Login command in VTY configuration
Pls information in usage of Login command in VTY configuration in brief
Hi,
Login is used to control VTY access, it generally has 4 cases when AAA is not configured, and with AAA it serves another purpose:
Without AAA:
One of the following methods must be explicitly configure otherwise there can't be VTY access to the router.
1. "no login" > No password is required for VTY access
2. "login" + "password xxxx" > This password is required for login.
3. "login local" + "username xxxx password xxxx" (global configuration) > a local configured username and password are required for login.
4. "login tacacs" + "tacacs-server host x.x.x.x" (global configuration) > Use TACACS or Extended TACACS server for login.
With AAA:
With AAA it can be used to specify a custom AAA authentication method using the "login authentication xxxx" command under the VTYs.
NOTE TACACS+ can be enabled only through AAA commands.
I hope that i've been informative.
BR,
Mohammed Mahmoud.

Dear all,
Can any one suggest what are the commands required during configuration of wccp on a WAE device of model #7341 with version 5.3.3 of IOS .Mohammad,
Here you have a link for 5.3.1 but essentially it should still be valid:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/waas/v531/configuration/guide/cnfg/traffic.html#wp1041742
Depending on the router, you may consider what options to use.

Q: What is the command to verify the configuration that are not saved or sent to local controllers?
A: We can execute the command that is shown in below image to check the status of the configuration that has been made.
Note: For example I made changes to the default VAP profile and executed the command "show master-configpending" which shows the pending configuration to be saved/sent to local controllers. But that jar file loads without images and icons when it is in other directory.Images should be accessed via a URL rather than using a filename because they will exist as entries in the jar archive not as files. Typically this URL would be obtained by using the Class method [getResource()|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/lang/Class.html#getResource(java.lang.String)]. There are details in this [Java World article|http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/javaqa/2002-11/02-qa-1122-resources.html].

What is the command to see the database
what is the command to see the database?iam using oracle express edition in that i tried to create a database but it showing database already created.
i need to check which database is created.Probably you are thinking that Oracle database is a kind of file something like which we sees other files like .txt, .doc, .pdf etc which we sees by ls or dir commands. Of course there are files for Oracle database, but they have their own nomenclature and setup which finds in C:\oraclexe\oradata\XE\ (For example in Windows) or /usr/lib/oracle/xe/oradata/XE/ (For example in Linux).
By default, the database is started for you after installation and every time your computer is restarted. However, to reduce the overall performance load on the system, you can manually stop the database, and then manually restart it later.
Oracle&reg; Database Express Edition
Ok, now if you wish to login to the database (we don't says "see" the database, because database is different thing than a picture or image ), you just open your command window and say :
sqlplus sys/your_password_of_sys_user as sysdba
If you get SQL> prompt, you have logged in the database as sys user and this is your database.
If you wish to login with different user then you can :
1.login from command window by sqlplus username/password
2.login from SQL> prompt by connect username/password

What is the best way to configure password in Cisco IOS?
I am running IOS 15.2(4) on a 1921 Router
What is the best way to configure the password for the router? I have already tried once and managed to lock myself out of another switch. I would like to use the most secure method which encrypts the password.
Current Config:
username admin privilege 15 password 0 cisco123Cisco IOS will not let me use a type 5 password. This is the error message I receive:
ERROR: The secret you entered is not a valid encrypted secret.
To enter an UNENCRYPTED secret, do not specify type 5 encryption.
When you properly enter an UNENCRYPTED secret, it will be encrypted.
I tried generating an MD5 hash and inputting that in and that did not work either. When I do not specify type 5 it will default to using an encrypted type 4 password.
Also, what is the difference between these two enable secret commands?
enable secret 5 password
username admin privilege 15 secret 5 password -
What is the command to check the changes in the spanning-tree topology?
What is the command to check the changes in the spanning-tree topology?
Hi,
Few commands which would help are:
1- Show spanning-tree detail
2-show spanning-tree detail | in ieee|from|occur|is exec >> This will give from were the changes occuring- Ex:
C6K1#show spanning-tree detail | in ieee|from|occur|is exec
VLAN0001 is executing the rstp compatible Spanning Tree protocol
Number of topology changes 9536 last change occurred 00:00:29 ago
from GigabitEthernet4/6
3- show spanning-tree active *& show spanning-tree root >> Will give you the root information.
4- show spanning-tree inconsistentports >> If there are any port which are inconsistent state due to STP features.
STP running MST:
===============
show spanning-tree mst configuration >> Need to check and match the same outputs with the other switches running in the same MST domain/region.
show spanning-tree mst detail
show spanning-tree mst <name of the region>
Debug on STP:
============
debug spanning-tree events/bpdu >> would be good but to be run with more cautious.

Command to erase configuration on AP Aironet
Usually in cisco the comand to erase configuration is
wr erase
I need to wipe an AP but by console session. That comand is not working what is the command that will erase the configuration?Usually in cisco the comand to erase configuration is wr erase
If you have static IP address, "wr erase" is not enough as the IP Address will still remain.
The command "wr default" will erase the config of an autonomous IOS including static IP address.
I need to wipe all info before I send it back fotr warranty
I wouldn't worry about that. Cisco won't "glean" off your configs. -
What is "Another clk on Guido configured as primary"
Hi there,
just a short question with this error message.
there is an issue with a 2651XM router, when the first bri(what is on the WIC slot) goes down and try to change the clocking to the next BRI module what is on a NM-HD-2V slot.
The issue happens now, there is many hundreds of error message says "Another clk on Guido configured as primary" and sometimes the router crash, sometimes not.
I like to know what is exactly the Guido (in my understanding this is the SW on the IOS what handle the NM-HD-2V module) and why I can not set the network-clock-select for the bri cards with this router. As per the Command LookupTool it supported since 12.3.11 and I've 12.4 right now. Is this platform can handle network clock selecting with bri's?
thanks in advance!
GabaGaba,
Not 100% sure on this because typically I deploy this with T1/E1. I believe for VWIC BRIs that command cannot be used. Below is a blurb from the network-clock-participate command that goes with the select command.
network-clock-participate
To allow the ports on a specified network module or voice/WAN interface card (VWIC) to use the network clock for timing, use the network-clock-participate command in global configuration mode. To restrict the device to use only its own clock signals, use the no form of this command.
The only VWICs that can participate in network clocking are digital T1/E1 packet voice trunk network modules (NM-HDV), and Fast Ethernet network modules (NM-2W, NM-1FE. and NM-2FE).
As far as the network-clock-select, that might reference WIC based BRI only and not VWIC. The default on that platform is.
Command Default
Cisco 2600 series and Cisco 2600XM
The network clock source is the Advanced Integration Module (AIM) phase-locked loop (PLL) with priority 5, which indicates that the network clock is in free running mode.
Sorry it's not a definite answer to your question but it's how I read it.

Thanks

I am trying to determine the best way to set up our imac so each user account can access the same media (songs, movies etc.) through itunes and also back up and manage their personal devices under their own personal user account. There are 4 users on our iMac. Me, my wife, and our 2 children. We have built an extensive library of music/media together using the same iTunes store account. I would like to establish a seperate apple id and iTunes store account for each of us going forward but have the ability for each of us to share our purchases. What is the best way to configure our system and devices in order to allow shared access to media and at the same time allow for individual management of devices including contacts, apps, photos, etc. Please help, I would like to do this once!
Thank you in advance!OK, seeing as no-one replied (presumably because a lot of this information is on the forums in bits elsewhere) here's how I've got on so far.
Applications - just went through them. About the only one I needed was my media server app. Just downloaded and re-installed, had a quick look back though my email to find the license key and it all went on fine. Installation never seemed quite right on my old machine so solved that problem too.
Movies - New iMovies just copied across the clips and projects into their respective folders. Seems to have worked but haven't checked it all that thoroughly. Some duplicate footage here but I can trim this out at some point when I get a chance to go through here.
Documents - Just copied these across.
Photos - used an app called iPhoto Library Manager. You can download for free but have to pay to use the part that consolidates your libraries. Possibly if I was willing to spend a bit more time I could have got away without using this but given I didn't know the state of my different libraries and just how many duplicates I had this was too much of a convenience to ignore. Also got my library into a state where I can now spend a few hours organising it a bit better with Faces / Events etc.
Not attempted Music or iPhone sync yet as been stuck trying to solve a problem with my power adapter. -
What are the commands available to read a file from application server and
What are the commands available to read a file from application server and store the file into an internal table?
Hi,
To read a file from an Application Server to an Object there is a command in ABAP called <b>READ DATASET</b>. After that file is transported to that object you have to do a loop and put that data in an Internal Table.
This statement exports data from the file specified in dset into the data object dobj. For dobj, variables with elementary data types and flat structures can be specified. In Unicode programs, dobj must be character-type if the file was opened as a text file.
For dset, a character-type data object is expected - that is, an object that contains the platform-specific name of the file. The content is read from the file starting from the current file pointer. After the data transfer, the file pointer is positioned after the section that was read. Using the MAXIMUM LENGTH addition, the number of characters or bytes to be read from the file can be limited. Using ACTUAL LENGTH, the number of characters or bytes actually used can be determined.
In a Unicode program, the file must be opened with an arbitrary access type; otherwise, an exception that cannot be handled will be triggered.
If the file has not yet been opened in anon-Unicode program, it will be implicitly opened as a binary file for read access using the statement
OPEN DATASET dset FOR INPUT IN BINARY MODE.
. If a non-existing file is accessed, an exception that can be handled can be triggered.
Influence of Access Type
Files can be read independently of the access type. Whether data can be read or not depends solely on the position of the file pointer. If the latter is at the end of the file or after the file, no data can be read and sy-subrc will be set to 4.
Influence of the Storage Type
The import function will take place irrespective of the storage type in which the file was opened with the statement OPEN DATASET.
If the file was opened as a text file or as a legacy text file, the data is normally read from the current position of the file pointer to the next end-of-line marking, and the file pointer is positioned after the end-of-line marking. If the data object dobj is too short for the number of read characters, the superfluous characters and bytes are cut off. If it is longer, it will be filled with blanks to the right.
If the file was opened as a binary file or as a legacy-binary file, as much data is read that fits into the data object dobj. If the data object dobj is longer than the number of exported characters, it is filled with hexadecimal 0 on the right.
If the specified storage type makes conversion necessary, this is executed before the assignment to the data object dobj. Afterwards, the read data is placed, byte by byte, into the data object.
System Fields
sy-subrc Meaning
0 Data was read without reaching end of file.
4 Data was read and the end of the file was reached or there was an attempt to read after the end of the file.
Thanks,
Samantak.
